"For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith." - Romans 1:17
A bit of comparison between a Two Hand Hub Swing and a Two Hand Hub Snatch. Waxed 2nd Gen WEIDER 45lbers used. On paper, it would seem that Swings would EASILY allow you to lift more weight until you do them and whether One Handed or Two, Swings are MUCH harder to release the arm tension making getting under the weight feel impossible. In my limited experience, l'd say that Swings will force you to develop exceptional speed to facilitate getting under a heavy weight. Snatches are good, but they don't take NEARLY the same amount of work to develop. Learn to develop both. God Bless!

00:01let's take a closer look at the swing versus the snatch so up top is the swing you can see
00:07the weight is way out in front away from the hips as far as possible because I'm going to
00:11swing the weights back to great create some momentum so I can throw the weight up overhead
00:16on the bottom is going to be a snatch and you're going to see in a minute how easily I
00:22can get the
00:23arm tension to release from that snatch so I can split under the weight so on the top where I'm
00:31doing the swing I have swung the weights back essentially making them a lot heavier than 45
00:37pounds it's kind of like swinging a buckle a bucket of water around in your arm now you can make
00:42it
00:42heavier and heavier by using more and more momentum same thing is happening here I'm using momentum to
00:47throw the plates back it's a lot more stress and a grip it feels a lot heavier than it the
00:53bottom where I'm just pulling up the 45 pound plates and because of that I'm quickly and much
00:59more easy easier at getting the arm tension to release as you'll see in a second
01:06I would say I'm at max force production here on both lifts the swing up top the snatch on the
01:12bottom
01:12you can see at the bottom the heels are way off the ground I'm about to have both feet leave
01:17the ground
01:17yet you can see in the swings I'm not even close to moving anything off the feet
01:22or moving the feet off the ground at all and it's just a total different result by the force
01:29that's on the hands and me trying to transmit that force of the hands up with enough power so that
01:39I can
01:40release the tension on the arm so I can get that weightless feeling and it's just not going to happen
01:44with a swing as you can see look at that difference catching the weight in the snatch look how much
01:52lower I can get versus this swing I got to ride that out all the way I'm doing what I
01:57can by bowing
01:58the body trying to get myself as low as possible but there's just no way I'm going to squat under
02:02or
02:02split under I just can't release that tension from the arms whereas I you can see I easily could release
02:09the tension from the arms on the snatch now yes I understand that both positions are not the same
02:18I started with the plates on the outside of the feet with the snatch and between the legs with the
02:23swing but I can tell you that I'm definitely going to have to work harder to get that kind of
02:30force
02:30production on the swing that I can release the tension now you can see why I think you got to
02:37be faster and more explosive when trying to swing heavy weights overhead than on heavy snatches it's
02:45really a marked difference indeed
