00:01We have had a fantastic relationship.
00:04The atmosphere appeared to be warm between U.S. President Donald Trump and China's Xi
00:08Jinping as they met in Beijing this week.
00:11It was the first time in nearly a decade that a sitting U.S. president has visited China.
00:16Here's how the trip unfolded.
00:17We have landed in Beijing.
00:19President Trump is just about to debark from Air Force One, along with a little bit of
00:24a red carpet there in the background.
00:27There was a lavish welcome for Trump as both leaders prepared to sit down at the Great
00:31Hall of the People.
00:32So we're now here at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
00:36President Xi and President Trump will be arriving fairly shortly.
00:41We've got children preparing for that arrival right behind me, giving excited cheers.
00:48I was in the hall where the leaders met.
00:50They spoke for more than two hours about topics including the Iran war and trade.
00:55But Taiwan was front and center.
00:57Xi warned that there was a potential for conflict if the issue was mismanaged, a contrast from
01:03the cordial start we saw at the beginning.
01:05Things appeared less tense when the two leaders met at the Temple of Heaven for a cultural visit
01:10and later in the evening at a state banquet.
01:12We are back in the Great Hall of the People where President Xi is hosting President Trump
01:17for a state banquet this evening.
01:19You'll see, or we've seen anyway, some of President Trump's cabinet here, Secretary
01:23Rubio, Secretary Besant, some CEOs, Elon Musk of course from Tesla was here.
01:29Pomp, toasts and a high profile delegation aside, what's next for the complicated US-China dynamic?
01:35The issue of Taiwan may prove to be the biggest threat to Thais.
01:40Xi's message on Taiwan was clear.
01:42Now both men must decide whether they want Taiwan to derail the broader relationship between
01:47their two countries.
01:48What's next?
