Trump and Xi wrap up summit claiming progress in stabilising ties but differences remain

The two leaders met on Friday at final talks of the superpower summit, which the US president said "settled a lot of different problems". Xi described Trump's visit as a "milestone visit".

00:01U.S. President Donald Trump departed Beijing on Friday as critical talks with his Chinese
00:07counterpart Xi Jinping concluded after a two-day visit. Both leaders claim progress was made in
00:14stabilizing relations between the two countries, but critical differences appear to still remain,
00:19especially on the topic of Taiwan.
00:44Trump said progress was also made regarding trade, claiming fantastic trade deals were made
00:50but without providing further details. The two also spoke about the Iran war with Xi, saying
00:55that he wanted to help negotiate an end to the conflict and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
01:01We did discuss Iran. We feel very similar to Iran. We want that to end. We don't want them to

01:09nuclear weapon. We want the straits open.
01:12Very little information was provided on what trade agreements were struck during the summit,
01:17though Trump said in an interview with U.S. media that China agreed to purchase 200 Boeing jets.
