00:04This is the Medicine Festival in the UK, west of London. It's a not-for-profit gathering
00:11combining music, art, ceremony, indigenous traditions, well-being and environmental
00:16activism. Over 10,000 people are attending this year coming from all over the world.
00:30The 6th edition of the festival features a very full programme of events, including concerts,
00:35yoga classes, different ways of exploring movement and spiritual awareness and traditional
00:40ceremonies.
00:43I'm from the Netherlands. It is actually my first time here. What I like about the festival
00:50is the sharing of wisdoms. Actually, that's the reason why I came. I hope to get out of
00:55here, inspired, rested and motivated as well.
01:02The people, the connection, it feels like, when you come here, it feels like home.
01:07In Europe and around the world, there's a growing interest in conscious festivals such
01:12as medicine, which encourage people to explore their inner selves, reconnect with nature and
01:18create a sense of community.
01:20We see ourselves as part of nature and not separate from it. And so we promote
01:25medicine of dance, the medicine of music, the medicine of community. Seeing people who
01:32have maybe a different world view and engaging with that, learning new skills, understanding
01:40new ways of seeing the world. We would call it a sacred festival.
01:49To date, the medicine festival has donated over 100,000 euros to support the environment and
01:56indigenous communities.
