00:05consideration in that decision-making process? Well, I don't think the president said that. I
00:10think that's a misrepresentation of what the president said. I don't think about
00:14American financial situation. I don't think about anybody. I think about one thing. We cannot let
00:20Iran have a nuclear weapon. That's all. I agree with the president that Iran should not have a
00:24nuclear weapon. We're obviously engaged in a very aggressive and very engaged diplomatic
00:29process to try to ensure that that doesn't happen. And the president has a lot of options. As he
00:34said repeatedly, there are options diplomatically. There are options on the military side. But the
00:38fundamental goal here is the president wants to make the world safe, but particularly the
00:43American people safe from Iran having a nuclear weapon. And one final point I'll say on that is
00:48the nuclear proliferation is one of those challenges that people don't realize it's the biggest threat
00:54to America's national security, and it's not obvious until it is. Because what happens if
00:59Iran gets a nuclear weapon, then multiple Gulf Arab countries are going to want to get a nuclear
01:03weapon, then multiple countries from there are going to want to get a nuclear weapon.
01:06The goal of preventing nuclear proliferation is probably the single most important thing
01:12that we can do to keep our people safe for the long term. It's absolutely a worthy goal.
01:16But of course, the president and I and the entire team, we care about the American people's
01:20financial situations. It's one of the reasons why we passed the working families tax cut.
01:25It's one of the reasons why we're so focused on fraud. We care about how the American
01:28people are doing economically. We've also got a number of other challenges. Of course,
01:32the president has to confront all these challenges simultaneously.
