It's a myth that night temperatures have to be above 10°C/50°F, before you plant tomatoes. In much of the UK, that does not happen until the middle of June!
I use fleece covers, as you can see, and it's the same for other warmth loving plants. Night temperatures, here are currently 6 to 9°C, high 40s Fahrenheit.

I also show you intersowng of turnips between potatoes. That's one of many combinations I feature in my new book, Grow Together.
