It's been a very busy month since the last tour. Also unusually sunny with 200+ hours in April, just 25mm rain, and temperatures of 16°C/60°F, by day, and 4°C/39°F by night.

Already I'm running low on space for new plantings. The few empty beds are for squashes, sweetcorn and courgettes, which we plant in late May mostly.

In this garden tour from Homeacres, I show how to make more of your space by interplanting between garlic, and sowing radish with carrots. There are potentially many more interplants through the summer, between different crops that finish quite soon — a simple way to grow more in the same space, especially as crops finish at different times.
