00:00What happens when a queen is asked to film her life?
00:02Find out in my untuck life tonight with me, Libacious.
00:10Okay, children, we are in Long Island City on the way to Spandex World to see what fabric
00:20we are gonna find in this blessed house to get this look together.
00:29Mother has arrived.
00:30What's going on, y'all?
00:31It is I, Vivacious, from RuPaul's Drag Race Season 6.
00:35That's right, darling.
00:36That was 13 years ago, and now we are back.
00:40We have concepts of a plan, but if you know anything about me, it's gonna be very avant-garde.
00:49Trust, this is all stoners.
00:51So back in my day, the highest thing you would have in your closet is just one sequined dress.
00:57That's it.
00:58We're from New York City.
00:59We're from a Club Kid mindset.
01:01We don't need pageant or Miss Continental looks.
01:04And so when Drag Race started in 2008, I saw that the tea leaves were changing in the future,
01:12meaning that this is where the focus is gonna be based on this TV show.
01:16So I am the dinosaur who got on the spaceship that survived when the Earth got hit.
01:23They all did not survive.
01:25Glamazon Club Kid, honey.
01:27Yes.
01:28So we are looking forward to this Kiki Function Equine.
01:31Why did I decide to get on All Stars this time around?
01:34Because I also saw a shift again in the paradigm that was going on around us.
01:39It was either you adapt and get on, or you're gonna fall behind.
01:43Welcome to the Blair Witch Project off Drag Bitch, where the camera moves around and around
01:52and around and around.
01:54May the odds forever be in your favor.
01:57Also, I like a challenge.
01:59I don't believe that you will grow if you keep doing the same thing.
02:02You only grow when you're touched by your medal.
02:06So yes, I'm gonna go inside that store, go get this fabric, and see what best I can do
02:11in the hopes that I have something presentable for All Stars 11.
02:15Ooh.
02:16Uh-huh.
02:17She speaks my language.
02:19I've done her before.
02:21Look at all of that.
02:22These are the mesh girls.
02:24Mesh for the gods.
02:26It's time to do some sleuthing and turn into the ultimate Sherlock Homisha.
02:31My name is Sherlocka.
02:34Sherlocka Holmes, honey.
02:35We about to go get me some fabrics so we can get this done properly.
02:40Bye for now.
02:43Like this video?
02:45Hit like and subscribe.
02:47This is the fabric.
02:49I plan for my promo look is to take my favorite color, which is, um, they actually put me in
02:54the right category, is fuchsia pink.
02:57I like anything that glows in the dark because, um, you won't miss it.
03:01This is the fan section.
03:02But then also in the process, I wanted a look that when I walk into the room, it's something
03:09that you go, go, mm-hmm, that's a vivacious look.
03:11This is it on my back with the front section.
03:14So, for instance, my fan is my trademark.
03:17I've been using fans for over 20 plus years.
03:24It is the nighttime and I am heading to the designer's house so that we can take a good
03:33look at the costume pieces that are going to be created, presented, et cetera, your costume
03:40fitting.
03:42So, um, wish me luck.
03:43Let's see how this goes.
03:45At this point, we only had two weeks to get this done.
03:47So there was a 50-50 split.
03:49I told the designer, make the outer body and the shelf of my outfit.
03:54I am going to invest and make the inner body and all of the jewelry and the headpiece that
04:00went with my look.
04:02Okay, y'all, we are at the Fatone with the fabulous Beck and we are, um, troubleshooting
04:10and trying to get things done.
04:12No, this corset will not be in white, but use your imagination.
04:17It's going to be in green.
04:18Oh, God.
04:19Yes.
04:20Grinch green.
04:22Corey King's green.
04:25Gang green.
04:26Corey's real inner soul.
04:28I know the girls.
04:29They're all going to come in somebody's costume that it's either been done before, it's been
04:36around the corner once or twice, and it's going to be for them in a new color.
04:41And for me, it's like, I like things that are always unique.
04:44I want something on me that best represents my style and my aesthetic.
04:48Don't let the headpiece pull you.
04:50There's more.
04:51For now, we'll just keep it in disguise.
04:5490% of the drag race girls are going to put on a wig.
04:57I'm not a wig person.
04:59I'm going to put on a headpiece because that's my style.
05:03You know, um, when I first started drag, there were four black queens back then working.
05:08And the question is, what do you do as a queen that makes you stand out?
05:12My quote unquote drag mother, she was the glamorous one.
05:16Actually, she was the first one that ever won RuPaul's Drag Race on the Ricky Lake show.
05:21Her name is Shaquita Hall.
05:22And so I couldn't be like my mother because I didn't grow up to try to be somebody's carbon
05:27copy.
05:27So I chose things that I can always put on my head.
05:31So I will always make a headpiece for something.
05:34We love a waspy bitch.
05:36And we're not talking white Anglo-Saxon Protestants.
05:40We're talking wasp from the, from the Avengers.
05:44Oh, y'all don't know that reference either?
05:46I know her.
05:47You know who she is.
05:49Yeah.
05:49Yeah.
05:50She was a one.
05:55Yes.
05:56I just printed her.
05:59I have this thing called Atme, A-T-M-E.
06:02It means adding to my entity.
06:03So every year I learn a new skillset.
06:06This year I'm learning 3D printing.
06:08A good friend of mine from the UK, her name is Nacho Rachel.
06:12We call her Nacho Slanderer.
06:14She wrote the G-code and the design in a program called Blender to help make the squiggly parts
06:20of the Ornacea head.
06:21And so all I had to do was go over to my brand new 3D printer and hit print.
06:27So Nacho, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be here.
06:30So thank you.
06:31Also with her best friend Luke, who did all of the printing on his computer first to make
06:36sure that there wasn't a problem.
06:37This is the look, y'all.
06:39This is the look I'm going for.
06:42That's going to be the face.
06:43Yeah.
06:44Which will be, and that's going to be this full face also.
06:46Yeah.
06:47Okay.
06:48RuPaul had a music video called Back to My Roots.
06:51And in that music video, one of the people at her mother's hair salon, her name was Cornisha.
06:57Cornisha.
06:58And so since I like to wear ornaments on my head and the name Cornisha, I decided to
07:03fuse the two of them together and come up with the word Ornacea.
07:06And that's how Ornacea was born.
07:09Yeah.
07:09Let's try not to break the stick.
07:11Did I know that it was going to take off the way that it did?
07:14No, I did not.
07:15But thank the heavens that it did.
07:17Ornacea, are you there?
07:18Yes, RuPaul.
07:19How is everything with you, darling?
07:21I think Ornacea definitely has a good chance at a solo career.
07:24Did Ornacea get a spin-off before I did?
07:27You look like Ornacea, but like.
07:33Because if it wasn't for that, I would be a household name as a club kid.
07:38But Ornacea was the icing on the cake that gave it longevity.
07:42For these ones, I'm going to put the outline and then do the eyes.
07:48I'm going to do the eyes and the pink.
07:50Yeah.
07:50In the initial season, I did one head.
07:52So I was like, what can I do to top the last time that I did this?
07:57How can I make it better?
07:58And I'm like, you know what?
08:00If they want an Ornacea, honey, give them an Ornacea.
08:03This is where I'm going with the pictures.
08:06A nation of Ornaceas.
08:08Ornacea.
08:09Okay, y'all.
08:10It is the final section of trying to get this together.
08:17It's the night before we leave.
08:19Am I nervous?
08:20Yes, I'm nervous.
08:22Why am I nervous?
08:22It was forecast earlier that week that a fierce snowstorm that was coming to town was going
08:28to knock out everything.
08:30I get a phone call.
08:32Hello, Vivacious.
08:33We would like to reschedule your flight from Sunday to Saturday.
08:39My costume's not done yet.
08:40So I get to the designer's house.
08:43It's 11 o'clock in the morning.
08:45My ride to the airport comes at 1.30.
08:48And Beck's been working overnight.
08:51And I'm like, Lord, please let this finish on time.
08:56Beck is a fierce designer, so he did everything possible.
09:01And I made it.
09:02He put in that last tack, and I literally nearly collapsed backwards.
09:06Because for the first time in history, an outfit that was commissioned to be made was
09:11actually finished on time.
09:13Beck, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so, so, so very much for finishing that wonderful
09:19work that you did.
09:20You made everything perfect.
09:22Stop that train.
09:24The upcoming theatrical film starring RuPaul and directed by Adam Shaikman comes out June
09:2912th.
09:30Watch the trailer on YouTube now.
09:35Early morning, about to finish up the makeup and get started for the day.
09:40Honey, you better get this makeup together because I am not from the internet era.
09:44I am from the Jurassic era.
09:46I can do enough makeup just good enough for me to get by.
09:50The costume have been redone and done, done, and did done.
10:05The experience on the promo shoot was, in the words of Alaska, ain't as thing as possible.
10:11What do I mean?
10:12Two weeks to get the look together, get out to LA, finish up all the stoning and everything
10:17like that.
10:17And then walking into that wonderful set to pull this look together.
10:22That was a fabulous experience.
10:25The photographers and everyone, they were very friendly and, you know, they were very inviting.
10:30So they gave you a leeway in what you could do.
10:32The headpiece was, she was heavy, but it feels amazing to bring her back because let's, let's
10:39be realistic.
10:40At the end of the day, they book Ornaysha and I am her assistant.
10:44And as RuPaul says, it doesn't matter who shows up to the gig as long as the money gets
10:48to the bank.
10:49We are done filming for the day.
10:51Uh, this was a wonderful experience.
10:54It's a lot to go home and process.
10:57So, looking forward to see how this all turns out from this filming into All-Stars 11, the
11:08tournament, darling, of champions.
11:11Welcome to the world, children.
