00:24The Lucky Panel Prizes, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined
00:38At first, the Lucky Panel minigame seems like your ultimate answer in acquiring top-level
00:43equipment for your party, and it kind of is. Unfortunately, if you want the absolute best
00:49weapons and gear available, there is a massive grind required here, as the Lucky Panel is the
00:55only way to acquire such items. Though the prize pool changes, you are bound to see the same stuff
01:00several times over due to the prize pool randomizing every single time you play. And yes, those legendary
01:08items have a very, very small pick rate in that prize pool. Hope you love matching tiles because
01:14you'll likely spend a lot of time here. Erdrick's Armor, Dragon Quest.
01:20Unlike many other armor sets across various RPGs, Erdrick's Armor is worth suffering through the
01:26process of obtaining it. In addition to restoring 1 HP upon every step you take, Erdrick's Armor
01:32completely negates the damage caused by swamps and barriers. You even get a huge resistance bonus
01:38against Breathe Fire, Hurt, and Hurt More. Of course, getting this set of armor is going to be painful,
01:44not tedious, but very, very painful. You will have to journey to Hawks' Nest and defeat the mighty
01:51Axe Knight guarding the armor. The problem is that some of the monsters before him all know Breathe Fire
01:57and or Hurt More. If only you could get that armor beforehand, right? The Hypernova Sword,
02:03Dragon Quest IX, Sentinels of the Starry Sky. Though it also appears in Dragon Quest XI, getting the Hypernova
02:10Sword in Dragon Quest IX is a much more arduous process. You can only get this weapon through
02:15crafting, and some of the ingredients for it can be tough to find. First off, you'll need Crimsonite
02:21and an uber-agate of evolution, neither of which are super hard to acquire. But next, you'll need to
02:27stock up on Brighton Rocks and Even Cloths, both being uncommon or rare drops and only a few enemies.
02:34You will also need to craft a Supernova Sword, which can only be crafted when you've obtained
02:39a Nebula Sword, some Silver Orbs, and some regular a Gates of Evolution. Oh, and the Nebula Sword
02:45must be crafted out of a Stardust Sword, Silver Orb, and a Gate of Evolution. It's crafting upon crafting
02:51upon more crafting. It's craft-ception. The Crowned Ghouls, Dragon Quest Builders.
03:02The Crowned Ghouls is a special item that can only be found in Rimuldar, the second world you explore
03:08in Dragon Quest Builders. To acquire this prized possession, you will have to find and defeat the
03:14bulbous, almighty, gooiest Slime King. There's just one issue. You need to locate a slime-shaped pond and
03:22fish the king out of there yourself. Sounds easy enough, until you fish out your 5th, 6th, 10th,
03:29and 20th slime and she-slime. Yeah, his spawn rate is fairly low, and the window for successfully
03:35fishing the king out is very small. At least you'll get some materials out of doing this.
03:40The Ruinous Shield, Dragon Quest 8, Journey of the Cursed King
03:55Just like the Hypernova Sword, The Ruinous Shield appears in several Dragon Quest games. We're
04:01highlighting Dragon Quest 8 because this game has slightly stricter conditions tied to it. There are
04:07two ways to go about acquiring this shield. Your first method is to simply try and farm it from
04:13Hell's Gatekeepers. It's a somewhat low drop rate, but maybe you can get it within a couple of hours.
04:19Your second option is to locate the Godbird Soulstone, which will allow you to venture to the
04:24Dark Ruins Island. There you will find 3 treasure chests, one of them containing the Ruinous Shield.
04:31You will need the Godbird Soulstone to reach the final boss anyways, so unless you can't wait that long,
04:36better get busy farming, or get busy dying. The Hair Raising Suit, Dragon Quest 11, Echoes of an Elusive Age.
04:51Ah yes, the famed bunny suit that fits Jade in a very flattering manner. But this suit is not to
04:59be
04:59dismissed as simple, sexy attire. With this, Jade becomes a God, as it resurrects the user upon defeat with full
05:08health and full MP.
05:10However, the means in acquiring it is a lengthy journey for her and our hero. You will have to defeat
05:16the Time Worm,
05:17and the Time Worm is among the hardest bosses in Dragon Quest history. What makes things even worse is that
05:24there is a weird oddity attached to the suit.
05:27If you ever switch from 2D to 3D visuals, or vice versa, you will lose the suit, and you will
05:32have to obtain it once again.
05:34Hope you love fighting the Time Worm.
05:36The Metal King Sword, Dragon Quest 6, Realms of Revelation.
05:42Just about every piece of equipment related to the Metal King Slime is difficult to nab. It involves the Metal
05:49King Slime.
05:50These blobby menaces are utter cowards that run away at the first sight of danger.
05:54They also typically spawn only in very, very specific areas in each Dragon Quest game.
06:00So in order to obtain a Metal King Sword in Dragon Quest 6, you will have to suffer through the
06:06fifth floor in Mortimer's Dread Lair.
06:09And unsurprisingly, the spawn rate for Metal King Slimes is super low.
06:13So, if you want a Metal King Sword, or any other piece of Metal King Slime equipment in general,
06:20you better be able to hold your own against Darkcrawlers, Hell Gladiators, and Syntaurs.
06:26The Massacre Sword, Dragon Quest 4, Chapters of the Chosen.
06:31If you want to go after the Massacre Sword, you better be damn well sure that you actually want this
06:38weapon.
06:38The reason we say this is because this is a cursed item, meaning you will have a severe tradeoff if
06:45you want to use it.
06:46While the sword boasts a hefty attack power, it consequentially reduces your defense to zero, regardless of whatever else you
06:54are wearing.
06:55But if you absolutely feel the need to grab this sword for whatever reason you have,
06:59you will have to get an ultimate key so that you can unlock the chest stowed away in Port Runnels
07:05Inn.
07:05Whether you sell it or equip it, be absolutely sure of your decision, because this is the only one of
07:13its kind in the entire game.
07:15Sell it or try to remove the curse, and it's gone forever.
07:19The Cursed Necklace, a.k.a. the Choker, Dragon Quest.
07:24Erdrick's armor is incredibly tough to get in the original Dragon Quest, but the Cursed Necklace is absolutely the rarest
07:31item to get in the entire game.
07:33But, this is a rare item you do not want, as it is one of the game's handful of cursed
07:39items.
07:40Equipping it will cause the guards to deny you from entering Tantagel Castle, and the only means in getting it
07:46removed are to pay Tantagel's own magician for his services.
07:49But if you only want it just to get yourself a hearty amount of gold, by all means, go to
07:54Craggy Cave and farm those respawning treasure chests.
07:58Fair warning though, you may wind up having a surplus of torches before you get even one choker.

08:53Despite how cool sounding so many other weapons, armor, and accessories can appear, almost none of them are harder to
09:00obtain than the ever-mystical Happy Hat.
09:02Whereas Erdrick's armor restores your health with every step you take, the Happy Hat restores MP with every step you
09:09take.
09:10But the majority of Dragon Quest games featuring this headwear each have their own means in getting it.
09:15Whether it's from crafting, obtaining mini-metals, unlocking it with an ultimate key, or the usual ultra-rare drop from
09:23ultra-rare enemy,
09:24finding your own Happy Hat is going to be laborious no matter what method you go about it, no matter
09:30which Dragon Quest game you're playing.
