00:00President Trump lands in Beijing this morning. It's the first time a U.S. president has traveled
00:04to China since Donald Trump nine years ago. It will certainly be a test for what the president
00:09calls his great relationship with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Over two days of meetings,
00:14Trump is expected to raise a series of concerns about artificial intelligence,
00:18the global economy, trade, and nuclear weapons. He's also traveling with a who's who of CEOs to
00:24help him make his case for Chinese investment in America. Xi, on the other hand, wants to see the
00:28U.S. tone down its support for Taiwan and keep Trump from hitting Beijing with another series
00:34of devastating tariffs. And then, of course, there's Iran. The president addressed that
00:38with reporters as he prepared to leave for the trip. Well, I think, number one, we're going to
00:42have a long talk about it. I think he's been relatively good, to be honest with you. You
00:49look at the blockade, no problem. They get a lot of their oil from that area. We've had no problem.
00:54And he's been a friend of mine. He's been somebody that we get along with.
01:00And I think you're going to see that good things are going to happen. This is going to be a
01:04very
01:04exciting trip. A lot of good things are going to happen. The horrific death of Michael Mott,
01:11the man who stepped in front of a Frontier Airlines plane at Denver International Airport
01:14last week, has been ruled a suicide. I do feel like I need to add a caveat, though.
01:20Denver police say they have yet to find any kind of suicide note. Video of the incident
01:25shows the 41-year-old calmly walking across the runway while a jet barrels toward him at
01:31a high speed. There is no way he didn't see it. When the Los Angeles-bound flight struck
01:36Mott, it was traveling at 139 miles an hour. The collision caused a huge explosion and a fire
01:42in one of the engines. Minutes before the incident, Mott had jumped the airport's perimeter
01:46fence. It took him just 15 seconds to climb the structure, which is eight feet high and topped with
01:51barbed wire. Mott was known to authorities with quite a rap sheet. 20 arrests around Colorado since
01:562002, including attempted murder in 2005. His most recent arrest was just a month ago for first-degree
02:04trespassing and damaging property and then resisting arrest. It's not clear how he was out on the street
02:09after that one. Denver International CEO Phil Washington said an alarm went off about nine minutes
02:15before Mott was killed. And when the alarm was reviewed by staff, they saw a herd of deer close
02:20to the fence, so they assumed that's what triggered it. They did not initially see Mott.
02:25Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Marty McCary resigned his post Tuesday after irking
02:30President Trump by slow-walking approvals of flavored e-cigarettes. McCary, a cancer doctor,
02:36was a familiar face, appearing with Trump at events promoting public health issues over the past
02:41year and a half. But the good doctor made his fair share of enemies, too. President Trump had promised
02:46to support the well-connected vape industry during his 2024 campaign. So McCary's slow approvals didn't
02:53net him many friends there. But he also angered advocates for rapid approval of treatments for rare
02:58ailments like Huntington's disease, as well as anti-abortion advocates who wanted him to stop the
03:02abortion drug Mifepristone from being accessed through telehealth. Here is what President Trump told
03:07reporters of McCary's departure on Tuesday. He was having some difficulty. You know, he's a great
03:13doctor and he was having some difficulty, but he's going to go on and he's going to do well.
03:18We have, everybody wants that job. The guy who's going to get that job everyone wants, for now at
03:23least, is Kyle Diamantis, who is being promoted from Deputy Commissioner to Acting Commissioner for the
03:29time being. For more on these stories and everything else you could possibly want to know, check out the
