00:00As you are listening to this, President Trump is jetting home from Beijing after his big meeting with President Xi
00:05Jinping.
00:06Iran, obviously a hot topic, and President Trump told Fox News' Sean Hannity about those discussions Thursday night.
00:13President Xi would like to see a deal made. He would like to see a deal made.
00:19And he did offer, he said, if I can be of any help at all, I would like to be
00:24of help.
00:24He said he's not going to give military equipment. That's a big statement.
00:27He said that today. That's a big statement.
00:30He said that strongly. But at the same time, he said, you know, they buy a lot of their oil
00:34there and he'd like to keep doing that.
00:36He'd like to see Hormuz straight opened.
00:38Another issue, Taiwan, which was, of course, expected to be discussed, seems to have been a bit more serious part
00:45of the meeting.
00:46A Chinese spokesman said the small island is the most important issue for U.S.-China relations and posted, quote,
00:52quote, if it is handled properly, the bilateral relationship will enjoy overall stability.
00:58Otherwise, the two countries will have clashes and even conflicts, putting the entire relationship in great jeopardy.
01:06Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was in China with the president, weighed in to NBC News.
01:12Any forced change in the status quo and the situation that's there now would be bad for both countries.
01:17One of the things the Chinese emphasize, which we agree, is strategic stability in our relationship, a constructive relationship,
01:23but also one that establishes strategic stability so that we don't have misunderstandings that could lead to broader conflict.
01:29We always respond by saying anything that would compel or force a change in what we have now would be
01:34problematic.
01:35And that we would certainly, our policies on that have not changed.
01:38Trade, also a hot topic. And President Trump made this announcement to Sean Hannity on that front.
01:44We talked about a lot of things, too many things to discuss, but a lot of things.
01:49We had a very good meeting, but we want things from them.
01:53One thing he agreed to today is going to order 200 jets. That's a big thing. Boeing.
01:58Boeing.
01:59200 big ones. That's a lot of jobs. That's a lot.
02:03Boeing wanted 150, got 200.
02:07He said, sort of, I think it was a commitment. I mean, you know, sort of like a statement, but
02:12I think it was a commitment.
02:14The White House has announced that President Trump invited President Xi and his wife to the White House later this
02:18year on September 24th.
02:21Dynamic pricing has become an unfortunate reality for consumers buying plane tickets, all sorts of things on Amazon, and even
02:28concert tickets.
02:30But New York City is hoping that Big Apple becomes the first city to block what it calls, quote, predatory
02:36pricing.
02:37Two bills have been introduced to the city council.
02:39One to limit dynamic pricing of groceries that uses algorithms to change prices up to several times a day.
02:46And a second to ban, quote, surveillance pricing, where businesses use personal data to set different prices for different customers.
02:54The bill blocking the use of personal data, for instance, would ban businesses from looking at a shopper's location, browsing
03:01history, or past purchases to secretly give them a different price than another shopper.
03:06The proposal still allows discounts for certain groups like seniors, students, or low-income customers, as long as the rules
03:13are made clear to everyone.
03:15The second bill focused on groceries would bar stores from raising the price of an item more than once in
03:20a 24-hour period.
03:22This is a response to those electronic shelf labels you may have seen that are powered by algorithms and can
03:29change prices multiple times in a single day.
03:32Another shocking incident of anti-Semitism on one of our country's college campuses, a swastika flag was hoisted above a
03:41New York University building named in honor of a billionaire philanthropist who has donated to Jewish causes.
03:47The flag, which also included the letters NYU and the Star of David, was spotted by parents and students during
03:54the university's annual Grad Alley Block Party, celebrating this year's graduating class.
04:00The flag was hoisted above the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, as named after philanthropists Michael and
04:08Judy Steinhardt.
04:10Michael, who grew up in a Jewish home, is also the founder of the Birthright Israel program, which provides free
04:1610-day heritage trips to Israel for young Jewish adults.
04:19He was on NYU's board of trustees for 27 years before he resigned in 2022 amid backlash over his antique
04:27scandal, which saw him surrender 180 looted antiques worth $70 million.
04:33In 2021, student government leaders called on university bosses to remove Steinhardt's name from the building over that case.
04:40An NYU spokesperson said the school was shocked and deeply troubled about the incident and confirmed that campus security removed
04:47it immediately after it was ported.
04:50The New York Police Department is working with the school to identify whoever is responsible.
