7 Little Johnstons Season 17 Episode 9
Transcript
00:00Like, tight in the tux, it looks like you're about to, like, hulk out, like, it goes like this,
00:04like, sort of pop all the buttons.
00:06I probably put on a little weight.
00:07Yeah, it's...
00:09Might be a lot of work for you, Sammy.
00:11Yes.
00:12Can I hear a son of a together?
00:13Yeah, if we did that.
00:15The alterations will take about three weeks, which leaves us about a week before the wedding,
00:20and the alterations need to be right because there is no room for error.
00:27How are you doing?
00:29I think she knew we were there.
00:31Yeah, I think so, too.
00:33You know, losing Trent's mom, it's difficult.
00:35Nana, thank you for the laughter, the lessons, and the love.
00:38We will miss your voice, your cooking, your wit, your sugars, and your hugs.
00:42At least she won't be suffering no more.
00:44She's going to be in the happiest place.
01:02For some reason, we have to plant five plants for Nana.
01:07She's a big girl.
01:08For her five favorite grandkids.
01:10I guess.
01:11I've got a tape measure because we need to make them symmetrical.
01:15With Nana's recent passing, we had a wonderful celebration of life for her, but we still have a lot going
01:22on.
01:23We have Halloween coming up and the wedding in a few days.
01:27All right, Dad says we have to measure these things.
01:30These are the ones that kind of get, like, really, really big?
01:33Yeah.
01:33Yeah.
01:34We are ten days away from the wedding, so it's all about multitasking and doing more than one thing at
01:41one time.
01:46Wow, those pants.
01:47I want a smart trap for man, one giant leap for mankind.
01:49I want to cut it out.
01:52I use your Halloween costume.
01:54I'm going to wear this Space Odyssey sweatsuit to try to burn off some calories and lose some weight.
02:00The goal is let's get in the tux for the wedding.
02:05That's the goal.
02:05Right now.
02:06Putting on a sweatsuit is not going to do the job to lose about 10, 15 pounds in order to
02:11fit in your suits.
02:12But I guess, you know, it is cute to, you know, try and see if it works while we're planting
02:16Nana's bushes.
02:18Where's your first bush at?
02:19It's right here?
02:20Mm-hmm.
02:21Mom said to line it up.
02:23I like that.
02:24Yeah.
02:24But see, this thing's going to get big, and that's lined up.
02:27I know they're going to get big, but I also want them to.
02:30I'm the landscaper.
02:31I understand that.
02:32But you weren't going to put them here.
02:35At Nana's home on Blackberry Court, where I grew up all my life, Nana had hydrangea bushes all over her
02:41property.
02:42And they were always very pretty and very beautiful, and they grew very well.
02:45So I'm hoping that these will do the same.
02:48In addition to Nana casting down her love and her sunshine that she always brought.
02:54How did Nana's?
02:56Huge.
02:56They got massive.
02:57Because they stayed in the shade.
02:58They were on the side of her house.
03:00Like, up to her roof.
03:01They were on the side.
03:02Well, that's called, you never prune anything.
03:04No, but they were pretty when they blew.
03:05Yeah.
03:05They were really.
03:06She had every color.
03:08Hey, Amber.
03:10As you put it in the hole, half dirt, fertilize, fill it in.
03:14Fertilize.
03:16And use your shovel blade, look, to go around the root ball to pack it in.
03:20Like this, once it's in the ground.
03:21That's good.
03:21It's, it's...
03:22Don't tell him.
03:23He's in it.
03:23And then down the hole.
03:24He's in it.
03:24Okay.
03:25I planted 20-something-thin bushes at my house.
03:28Yeah, that's good.
03:28We'll break my thing.
03:28Okay, can't break it.
03:30The root ball needs to be about this high above the ground.
03:33What?
03:34The root ball?
03:35It is above, it's above the ground.
03:36About this high above the ground.
03:40I'm getting ready to hand you this shovel.
03:42You said you know how to do this.
03:43I do.
03:44It's a, it's that high above the ground.
03:46Okay.
03:47I know how bushes are planted.
03:52I know how bushes are planted that Trent Johnston went.
03:55I've been doing it for a very long time.
03:57But Trent cannot help himself but have to tell me how to do it.
04:03I will say, you think she's good at planting bushes, you ought to see her trim bush.
04:08Bushes.
04:12Kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty.
04:14You got to take off the sweatsuit and the boots so we can see how much weight you lost.
04:18Ooh, the inside of this thing's wet.
04:20That's gross.
04:21Ooh.
04:22Oh, yeah.
04:23Oh.
04:24Oh, yeah, he is sweating.
04:29Right now, it's all about losing weight and fitting into this tux.
04:31And I need to make sure I weigh in as light as possible.
04:37So, pants and the boots and the socks.
04:40I ain't got no shame in my game.
04:41All the way down to the underwear.
04:43It is what it is.
04:43Yeah, I would have loved it.
04:47You got to look up.
04:48Yeah.
04:49Straight up.
04:51No, look up.
04:52Yeah, you got to like, look at this.
04:54There you go.
04:55I was hoping he doesn't strip too much because I don't want to see too much of his junk.
05:00Look.
05:01Try something.
05:03Oh, you think the concrete concrete?
05:04Well, it's like, because you're kind of going down.
05:08This morning when I woke up, I weighed in at about 142.
05:13My goal is somewhere in the 130s.
05:17And you got to look up.
05:18You can't look down.
05:19Yeah, look up.
05:20I'll let you know.
05:23There you go.
05:24What is it?
05:24140.
05:26Well, it was 139.
05:27139.
05:28What do I need for 139?
05:29You ready?
05:30Oh, no.
05:32Oh, my God.
05:34I knew we were trying to achieve weight, so, you know, the less the better, but.
05:38Nana would have loved it, but she would have never stood on that scale herself.
05:42Good job.
05:43We got five bushes planted.
05:46Dad lost a few pounds.
05:48This sweatsuit slash bait suit has helped me lose a little weight, but I've got to lose
05:53another four or five pounds, so we have to get very creative because I'm the only one
05:58that can shrink.
05:58The tucks cannot get larger.
06:07Look out, she's coming.
06:10No one can stop her.
06:12Yeah.
06:15Say ding dong.
06:17Trick or treat.
06:18Oh, my God.
06:21Oh, my God.
06:25Happy Halloween.
06:27Whoa.
06:28Hello.
06:29You look so cute.
06:35I want Layton to enjoy these holidays that are coming up, even though with the stress
06:40of the wedding and us needing to knock out as much wedding stuff as we can, but we have
06:45a kid, and she needs to experience these things and have that fun childhood.
06:49Take that one.
06:50I'll take this one.
06:53Layton loved strawberries, and we found the most adorable costume for her to wear, and I
06:58was like, you know what?
06:59Let's let the whole family dress the best fruits and veggies.
07:02Oh, that's a cute peach.
07:04It's a pink peach.
07:07Eggplant.
07:08Jonas, you know what eggplant costume can't fit him, because ultimately, I can say this
07:12because he's my brother, he can be a dick sometimes.
07:17Good God.
07:20Yours is right there.
07:23It was a raffle, so you got the last to pick in.
07:26What is this, broccoli?
07:27And where are we going with this?
07:29Twin Oaks Farm for the fall festival.
07:32At least one picture, and you guys can strip them off, but just one.
07:36Are all the other dads going to be dressed like this?
07:38I hope so.
07:39If not, I'm sorry.
07:40It said on there, come in your costumes.
07:43Dad was broccoli.
07:45You know, just a hearty vegetable that a lot of people tend to love, and it's good
07:51when you put a little flavor on it, so yeah, that's my dad.
07:55What am I supposed to look at?
07:57Your arm holes are all the way down there, Dad.
08:00Sorry, these are not little people friends.
08:02Bryce is helping you.
08:03Your face is right.
08:04No, no, no.
08:05Stop.
08:06I'm trying to help you.
08:09Jeez.
08:10I think all of this wedding stress is getting to my dad, or because he's having to lose
08:16weight, I would say not eating as much as he wants is causing his impatience and orneriness
08:22to come out, but I hope this fall festival will do him well.
08:25He could eat some broccoli.
08:33Limp broccoli.
08:34He's piss.
08:41Oh, Jesus, God.
08:44I can't see.
09:09I mean, we look ridiculous in these costumes, us adults do.
09:18I'm sorry, yeah, no one else was dressing up as a, I don't know.
09:22Nobody else dressed up for the festival.
09:24God, that wasn't fun.
09:26Oh my God, Dad.
09:28The last thing this broccoli needed to do was fall and hit his head and break some spears.
09:32Yeah.
09:33But our little strawberry stayed a strawberry the whole time.
09:37Give me a little.
09:38Are you dancing?
09:38You dancing?
09:39Get it, girl.
09:39Get it, get it.
09:43Yeah.
09:44I know.
09:44We got to find the ducks.
09:47Oh, boiled peanuts.
09:52Can you get one?
09:53Yeah.
09:55I'll pick one.
09:56You'll pick one for her?
09:57You sound like her dad.
09:57Got it.
10:02So cute.
10:03Oh, she does this well for the wedding.
10:04I think it would be very cute to see Layton walk down the aisle and dressed as a strawberry.
10:10She'd look cute either way.
10:12I know it, but.
10:13A strawberry, whatever, she'd be cute either way.
10:17Y'all gonna come over tomorrow so we can finish up our list?
10:20Yeah.
10:20Fuck, fuck.
10:22Have we practiced more with a flower girl?
10:25Pumpkin?
10:27Yeah.
10:27Layton's gonna do what Layton wants to do.
10:29If Layton does not want to walk down the aisle, it's perfectly fine for either Bryce
10:32to come down or me to get up, come around, and carry her down.
10:36It's just gonna happen.
10:37I thought I just gotta let the day play.
10:39Layton had a pretty good time at the festival.
10:41I was very happy to see her, you know, just having fun out there.
10:44But in the back of my head, I'm just thinking of all the last-minute things that
10:48we need to do for our wedding.
10:50Anybody want any of this?
10:51No.
10:52Don't blow the jug away.
10:53Jesus loves you.
11:04Lolly?
11:05Yes?
11:06Hi.
11:07Hey.
11:08Oh, you got it back?
11:09Yeah.
11:10I'm snatched.
11:11Let's go ahead and do this before I pass out.
11:14We're about a week away from the wedding, and it's time for me to try on my wedding dress
11:18to make sure that all the alterations were done and were successful.
11:22Just hope and pray that it looks good.
11:27All right.
11:28Ready?
11:32Let's see.
11:36Hopefully it...
11:38Wow, that looks a little nervousness.
11:43It's just, you know, it's a holding your breath moment because we didn't get any calls from
11:47Ms. Lee.
11:49And it's just kind of like, we're not going to jinx anything.
11:53We're not going to say anything until we put it on.
11:55Okay, hold on.
11:56I got to figure this out.
11:58I'm hoping it's right.
12:05Okay, hold on.
12:06I got to figure this out.
12:08So, we just got Elizabeth's dress back, and I am holding my breath that it's exactly what
12:13Elizabeth wanted.
12:16There you go.
12:17Hmm.
12:21Yeah.
12:22Yeah.
12:22I just need heels.
12:23That's the only thing.
12:24Yeah.
12:25Because I think my heels...
12:26Hold on a minute.
12:26Well, I got to look in the mirror.
12:30I just wanted to look at it from the side.
12:40Let's see if I can find something.
12:44Squatty potty!
12:46Okay.
12:47My shoes are supposed to be here tomorrow.
12:50But you ain't going to be this high up.
12:53No, but I just want to visualize a little bit more.
12:57It feels like the dress is fitting my body well, but without shoes, I won't really be
13:02able to tell if it's, you know, perfect.
13:05Okay.
13:07No, she did a very good job.
13:14What's wrong?
13:16I just still...
13:17I think it needs shortened.
13:20Because you're nowhere near going to be that tall of a shoe.
13:26It fits very well.
13:27It is just too long.
13:29I doubt Elizabeth is going to be wearing six inch heels at the wedding.
13:34This right here needs to be a little bit more.
13:37And this right here needs to be...
13:38Like, she got it right here in the middle, but it's still too long.
13:44It's a week away from the wedding, and we would love to get the dress altered.
13:48So we have to figure this out very quickly.
13:51So it's something I still can't cross off my list, and I'm just stressed.
14:15It's still like we do everything else in life.
14:20We are going to do a cold plunge because rumor has it the cold plunge helps your body somehow reduce
14:30fat and lose weight.
14:32I'll tell you, I'm going to get my body where I fit in that tux with room.
14:37You already look like your belly and neck have shrunk, so.
14:39A little bit.
14:40Yeah.
14:41I got to get my titties down.
14:42I definitely think it's pretty crazy that Dad thinks this is one way to lose some weight,
14:47but since he needs to fit in his tux to walk me down the aisle, he's got to do what
14:52he can to get to that point.
14:54Safety first.
14:55Oh.
14:56Oh, my gosh.
14:58That's cold for me right now.
15:02The recommended temperature for a cold plunge is like 50.
15:05And at one point, I think we got to like 38.
15:08See, I don't find it.
15:08You're not going to go any lower?
15:10No.
15:11Oh, s***.
15:14How's your pistol feel?
15:17I thought we had to stay.
15:18All ball, no bat.
15:22There's not a man on this planet that can get in that water and things not draw up.
15:27Reduce in size.
15:28Nope.
15:28Not going to happen.
15:30One, two, three.
15:31Just do it.
15:32Oh.
15:34Ooh.
15:35Don't you feel like that thing just disappeared when you got in the water?
15:38No comment.
15:39Next question.
15:41Look how red his legs are.
15:42You're red.
15:43Look how red his legs are red.
15:45All right, it's next.
15:46Are we going?
15:47Oh, four, girl?
15:47Yeah.
15:50Emma can do it.
15:52She's going to do it fast.
15:54Yeah.
15:55See?
15:57I would definitely say Emma's one of the more extreme members of the family when it comes
16:01to certain things.
16:04Emma doesn't always have to win, but she...
16:07She just does.
16:11Any comfort at all?
16:13That's the quietest she's ever been.
16:15She's a...
16:16I think she was all mental, like...
16:18Just...
16:18But she did good.
16:20She's a tough girl.
16:27I just need to...
16:28I just need to win.
16:30All right.
16:31All right, Dad.
16:32Yeah, you got to redeem yourself.
16:33Yeah.
16:34I'm not really sure Dad's going to get into this cold plunge because he doesn't like water.
16:40I promise you, you're going to want to take your shirt off.
16:42When you get out...
16:43This is going to be ten times heavier and another cold object.
16:48And that water is going to be very cold, so I don't think so.
16:53Don't grab the edge.
16:54Don't flip.
16:55Just don't hurt yourself.
16:56Don't.
16:56Don't over...
16:57Yeah, don't.
16:58Just get it.
16:59I'll just get it.
17:00If you fall, you won't be able to feel anything.
17:01Oh, Mom, you probably...
17:02Yeah, I'll tie them up since he's in.
17:07Dad, don't...
17:13What's the...
17:14Seconds.
17:14Wait.
17:1520...
17:15You're right.
17:16Dad, you got to go in.
17:17Yeah, yeah.
17:17At least you're...
17:18To your waist.
17:19Step down and collapse it.
17:21No, I don't...
17:21Don't you collapse that.
17:23I don't know.
17:24Leave his ass in there.
17:26I will...
17:26I will turn it in there.
17:27Just collapse it.
17:28Leave it in there, but just collapse it so you can get down.
17:31He's trying to get the side boots.
17:33Actually, I mean, a baptism...
17:34Yeah.
17:36A baptism is different.
17:38We're due for a baptism.
17:40Yeah.
17:41No, don't you touch that stone.
17:42Get away, Keith.
17:43Wow, it's not like Nana.
17:46Oh, God, no.
17:49That was some Nana reincarnation.
17:52My dad's definitely more like Nana than he wants to admit.
17:56Okay.
17:57Yep.
17:57One, two, three.
17:59Bye, dude.
18:00Ooh.
18:03Here, hand in the towel.
18:06I don't need a towel.
18:10I don't feel like I lost any weight.
18:12I feel like I lost some things, but it wasn't weight.
18:15I can guarantee you that that did not help...
18:19Look at all the floaties.
18:19...help shrink some weight.
18:21Gross.
18:22It strengthened your mind.
18:24It wasn't one of my smarter ideas.
18:25I promise you all that.
18:26On a serious note, this cold plunge did absolutely nothing for me.
18:31But I still have to fit in this tux and dicks.
18:34Anybody else?
18:35Nope.
18:36No.
18:37I guess we put a hairdryer on the duper.
18:46We can start off by cutting all of our material, so we're going to make them all 65-degree angle.
18:52We're down to the wire now.
18:53The last big project before the wedding is building these arches.
18:57Look at that.
18:59That's cutting wood right there.
19:03The wedding arches are pretty important because this is where the main event of the wedding
19:07will be happening, the ceremony.
19:09Would you say it's like the second or third most important part of the wedding?
19:13First important is having enough food.
19:15Second is having enough seating.
19:16Third is decorations and all that other stuff.
19:19We're probably not on the same page.
19:21The third most important thing was the bride ending room.
19:24The second, the arches and the platform.
19:26What's your first?
19:27Your father, the father of the bride, getting everything ready.
19:31That angle's not light enough.
19:35A while back, Elizabeth and I sketched up an arch of what we like, and it just so happened
19:40Amber and Elizabeth found some plans that were a lot like the arch that Elizabeth and I came up with.
19:4990.
19:50The instructions were a little confusing as far as all these angles.
19:54So these two 70s need to come off six inches to stay symmetrical, I guess.
20:05I don't know.
20:07I feel like the instructions should have had like overall dimensions.
20:10Yes.
20:10Overall dimensions are like how big this entire project is.
20:13That gives you the basic footprint of this arch.
20:18But it didn't.
20:20The angle I need to be cutting.
20:23Oh, you were looking at...
20:24I was looking at 65, 50.
20:26Oh, okay.
20:26I need to be cutting 25 and 40.
20:28But I openly admit that I was looking at the wrong number for the angles.
20:34And it was more carpenter error than it was instructional error.
20:49There you go.
20:51Once we realized the mistake that we were running into, it got a little bit easier.
21:05It's nice to cherish these moments with my dad, especially as long as there's no arguments involved.
21:12Come around.
21:13See that joint?
21:14You got to pull that joint together.
21:15You go down a little bit more.
21:17It's easier to control over the head.
21:18But it'll be nice to look back on and say, yeah, me and my dad did this together and we
21:24made that beautiful arch.
21:25Something that I'll never forget.
21:30We're finally making headway on this project and all of a sudden, rain.
21:34The bugs must have eaten up the bourbon bottle since it was plastic.
21:37Now it's raining.
21:39This farmer's almanac mythical theory of burying a whiskey bottle before the wedding to bring good weather, it worked.
21:50We went five weeks without rain.
21:53But the idea is it not rain on your wedding day.
21:58It's pouring down raining.
21:59I think we should bail out on this because we got more rain coming.
22:03We can't sand or stain this.
22:04Elizabeth and I really needed to get this arch finished, but now everything's on hold because we have to wait
22:09for it to dry out.
22:11We just can't seem to get things done.
22:13First it's the dress, then it's these wedding arches, and we're only days away from the wedding.
22:42Today is the very first day of wedding set up.
22:47The big tent, the dance floor, the tables and chairs, ceremony area.
22:58All the work that we have had to do in order to get the fields ready for the wedding includes
23:03taking a tree down.
23:11Went pretty good.
23:13Laying flagstones.
23:16Building a fire pit.
23:18That one with the flagstones.
23:19No, that was totally different project.
23:21Running a temporary water line about 300 yards down to an area that we cleared out for the kitchen and
23:29catering tent.
23:30And let's don't forget about the two pallets aside that we laid around the pavilion to guarantee some grass.
23:42It has finally stopped raining and has dried up.
23:45However, it appears that it's going to be raining on and off.
23:48So, we are just trying to stay optimistic that the weather holds out for the wedding.
24:06All right, you ready for some muffins?
24:10Yeah.
24:11Hey!
24:12Hey!
24:12Good morning.
24:13Oh, yeah.
24:14I heard you.
24:14Didn't see you.
24:15We brought breakfast.
24:16Breakfast.
24:17Tons of breakfast.
24:18Carol and Daisy are coming over a couple days before the wedding, and they're bringing
24:22over some breakfast and coffee, and we are doing a little, you know, girl catch-up.
24:27Bridesmaids and bacon.
24:29Bridesmaids and brews.
24:31Coffee brew.
24:33Sisters and sausage.
24:35Ew.
24:35No.
24:36Do not say that.
24:37So, what's been new with y'all?
24:39Um, let's see here.
24:40Traveling a bunch with some work and then just fun stuff.
24:43Time is flying.
24:45It's easy to take things for granted.
24:47So, like, now that we don't see each other as much, and she's a mom, it's, like, the moments
24:50that we do have together, we just take it all in and enjoy the moment that we have together.
24:54We're busy, but I know y'all are busy.
24:56Yeah.
24:57It's been stressful as far as, like, the whole dress thing.
25:00Mm-hmm.
25:00So, after talking to the seamstress, there isn't time, you know, to shorten it any more than
25:04it already is.
25:05So, now it's just to find shoes that make the dress work.
25:08We are wearing platform shoes.
25:10My biggest concern was, okay, can I walk in these shoes with this dress?
25:15I definitely am going to practice walking in them just to make sure I don't trip and
25:18fall on my face.
25:20We're having a lot of help with mom and dad doing the field, all the field work.
25:23Yeah.
25:24I think it'll mean more, too.
25:25Mm-hmm.
25:25I feel like you've made so many memories in that backyard that, like...
25:28Exactly.
25:29I mean, that's where we met Bryce, and now you're getting married there.
25:32Well, honey...
25:32Just imagine where we'll be in, like, seven, eight more years.
25:37Crazy.
25:38Two or three kids, then.
25:40Ugh.
25:41I can just picture us in the future on the beach.
25:45With our three other kids?
25:48Uh, I want to say probably three.
25:50That...
25:51I kind of just pushed it there.
25:53I told Bryce that we would start trying after the wedding.
25:57We'll give her one more sibling, but probably no more than two.
26:01You're thinking two?
26:03Two others.
26:05So then that's three, then?
26:06Yeah.
26:07What are we doing?
26:08Three would be four.
26:09Layton's here.
26:10You never know.
26:10We just might have twin sex.
26:13So have you thought any more about the honeymoon, like, what y'all are going to do?
26:16We've been wanting to do Hawaii.
26:17Oh, yes.
26:19I told them I can't do a week.
26:20I just don't want to leave her that long.
26:22That's hard.
26:23No, that's hard.
26:24I don't.
26:24I know it's hard, too, but just think about us, too.
26:27I know.
26:27He's like, think about us.
26:28We need this.
26:29And I'm like, yes, absolutely.
26:30Yeah, I kind of agree a little bit.
26:31I know it'll be hard to leave Layton, I know.
26:34But I think y'all also need that time.
26:35And that's a big trip.
26:37Maybe five days, at least.
26:38Uh-huh.
26:40You know, decision is pretty much still up in the air.
26:43We're just ready to get to the wedding and get through the wedding before we make any definite plans.
26:49What's, uh, kick I say?
26:51No.
26:52Oh, she's growing up so fast.
26:54Thanks again for having us.
26:56Thank you for your breakfast.
26:57Of course.
26:58I'm about to have to go hit the toilet.
27:23I was calling to ask you if you want to help me with the platform.
27:26Oh, yeah.
27:28We got some sunshine, and Liz and I were able to finish up the arches.
27:32We set out lots and lots of black plastic on the pool patio, and Bryce and Elizabeth would come over
27:39and work on staining the arches.
27:41All right, you ready?
27:45Oh, no.
27:58I'll go slow.
28:00Oh, this thing's huge.
28:02If it falls and breaks, we're screwed.
28:09Hey, I told you, I knew, hey.
28:11What?
28:12You got to listen to me on some things.
28:13When you're bouncing around, see how close that thing's already sliding off the edge?
28:17Are you holding it back this way?
28:18Hey, this hasn't moved.
28:21Yeah, this part hasn't moved.
28:38Keep going.
28:46Let's set it up there first.
28:50It's just a little boat, but see?
28:53It's not boat.
28:54It's just, it'll get fastened.
28:56We have the arches in place, the platform in place, the tent is set up, and we are going to
29:05do one last final walkthrough.
29:08Bapa's got some flags.
29:09Come here, girl.
29:11All right, let's go get Bapa.
29:12Hey, Miss Julie.
29:13Hi.
29:15Um, we got a little, we're missing tables.
29:22We're missing the high-top tables.
29:24We're supposed to have two heights right here.
29:26See?
29:26That's what I thought.
29:27Yeah.
29:29Right now, we're missing six of the normal high-top bistros.
29:34We're missing a cocktail food table.
29:36We're missing a six-foot table for drinks.
29:39So, we need another, I don't know if this is an eight-foot or what?
29:43Yeah, this is an eight-foot, and we're supposed to have two six-foots.
29:47We only have one.
29:48Don't need that eight-foot.
29:49There are still several things that need to arrive, that need to be put in place and completed.
29:56Home stretch, just a little bit more to go.
29:59It does naturally relieve some unease and some unsettlement, unsettlement with us.
30:05The rehearsal is tomorrow, so all of these little issues need to be worked out, like, now.
30:22Home stretch, just a little bit more to go.
30:39It has been about six months since Elizabeth and Bryce got engaged, and, you know, since that time, a lot
30:45of work has gone on.
30:46Now, we are at the day before the wedding.
30:50Hey, Karen.
30:51How are you?
30:51Thank you for coming.
30:52Thank you for coming.
30:54So, all wedding party and parents, come on down.
31:01Papa, Uncle John, Jonah, we're going to get this rehearsal started, but we need grandparents' wedding party to head to
31:08the ceremony site.
31:09Please.
31:10You know, I'm not stressing so bad about the weather.
31:13We all looked for the big day, and it showed some light showers, like, 12 a.m.
31:18We were like, ah, okay, that's perfectly fine.
31:20It'll dry up afterwards.
31:21We'll go out and do a full run-through, and then we'll do it however many times you need to.
31:26Gotcha.
31:29I feel like Elizabeth and Bryce are happy and, you know, ready to take on tomorrow.
31:35You see Pothole Nathan?
31:38All right.
31:42Good job.
31:44Good job.
31:44All right.
31:45Good job, dude.
31:46Yes, Dad.
31:47Let's go ahead and stand for now.
31:51I'm almost cracking jokes about how we're going to walk.
32:00We're excited.
32:01Yes.
32:02We've been waiting for this day for a long, long time, and it's finally here, and we're excited just to
32:08be gaining another dollar-in-law.
32:11Yeah.
32:11Yeah.
32:12Woo, pizza's here.
32:19After doing the rehearsal, all I could think about was that speech that was coming up.
32:24I was just trying to stay calm, still relaxed, and just not, you know, think too much.
32:33Based on our run-throughs with Bryce's speech that we've helped him with,
32:37I think really the only thing that Bryce had to work on was just his eye contact,
32:40so, like, you can look up at the crowd.
32:42All right, everybody, we're going to get started.
32:45Bryce is going to say a few words before we start eating.
32:50Okay.
32:51Okay.
32:51All right.
32:52So we would like to begin by thanking all of you for being here tonight.
32:57Having our families gather together on the night before an important day is an incredible gift,
33:03and we will not take it for granted.
33:04Tonight is especially meaningful because it also happens to be my parents' wedding anniversary.
33:11Happy 33 years to you both, and we wish you many more ahead.
33:17We have been married 33 years today.
33:20We were just babies.
33:22Gosh, we weren't.
33:24But, yeah, 33 years.
33:26To my fiancé's family, it is an honor to be joining your family,
33:30and I am committed to cherishing and caring for your daughter and granddaughter for the rest of my life.
33:42I think Bryce did a really good job on his speech.
33:45I can tell he practiced a good bit.
33:47Like, his flow was good.
33:49His eye contact was good.
33:50So I think he did a really good job overall.
34:00I think it's a beautiful setup, what they have.
34:02They've been very blessed to have this much, you know, property to do this on.
34:06Not every day you can have a wedding in your backyard.
34:08Because my next wedding that I'll probably be in is either this one, this one.
34:11Supposedly, Jonah's, like, ready.
34:13Yeah, Jonah's ready.
34:14So excited to be able to stand beside her tomorrow on her big day.
34:18Ready?
34:19Easy, easy.
34:19Easy.
34:20My only advice for Liz is good luck being married to a Bolden.
34:26I'm teasing.
34:37The rain today, I feel like Lizzie's a little bit stressed about it.
34:43It's raining.
34:47Lizzie is already freaking out because this rain is just downpouring.
34:53When you decide to get married, you have to pick a day.
34:56But you can't pick the weather.
34:57We're excited for the day and the ceremony and the reception and all of that.
35:02But it's just, there's always so much lead up.
35:05Um, I need Dad.
35:08Okay.
35:08What's the matter?
35:09We're having issues with golf carts.
35:11Oh, crap.
35:16We got our rehearsal.
35:19We got our dinner done.
35:20By the time we were ready to wrap up, as you can see, we are raining.
35:28We're having issues with golf carts.
35:31Bryce.
35:32Bryce, how do you lay this down?
35:35You what?
35:35How do you lay this back down?
35:39Hey, can you get up the hill?
35:40I know it.
35:44This just sucks because now it's time for everybody to go home and get some rest and prep for the
35:48big day, and the golf carts can't go up the hill, so now we're having to use the good old
35:52mule to get people to their cars, and it's just so good.
35:58Pretty much trying to figure out how to get everybody out of here without getting wet and
36:02without, you know.
36:04Getting hurt.
36:05Yeah.
36:06I know y'all don't think I can jump up in.
36:08No, no, no.
36:11The very first family members that I take is Bryce's grandparents.
36:16Dry that.
36:16Use that to dry the seat off the hill, too.
36:17I'm fine.
36:18Yeah.
36:19Why is he standing?
36:20I don't know.
36:21The seat's down.
36:22Please.
36:23I look back there, and the roof is not covered in the back seat.
36:27Daddy would be like, I'm all right.
36:28Let's just go.
36:28And I was like, no, we got to fold it down anyways.
36:31They didn't flip the roof back.
36:33Bryce.
36:34Go, Bryce.
36:34Go.
36:35Lord Jesus, help me.
36:36Oh, crap.
36:36So the roof has been folded over all day, and it's been raining for an hour and a half
36:41now.
36:42And Bryce, bless his heart, he folds that roof over.
36:45Sorry about that.
36:47Oh.
36:49Oh, my God.
36:51The roof was popped up.
36:53Oh, my God.
36:54Sorry about that.
36:54That'd be.
36:55He dumps a gallon of water down his grandfather's back.
36:58It went down his, straight down his neck, his back, his britches, everything.
37:02And I was just like, oh, boy.
37:05Oh, my God.
37:06Did he dump it all over you?
37:08Yeah.
37:09And, yeah, I'm glad she did, because I did, too.
37:11Out of anybody, Daddy B did not deserve that.
37:14Mama B, we're going to slide a little bit.
37:16Let's just go.
37:16We'll be all right.
37:23There's so much mud.
37:25Golf carts stuck.
37:26That was a clusterf**k.
37:27Yeah, them little slink-tired golf carts right there ain't going to do it.
37:30I can get them through the woods.
37:31I can't get them up this hill.
37:33Between now and after the wedding, nothing is going to dry up.
37:38It is mud from here to the end of the wedding.
37:41Trend's hard work.
37:43Everybody's hard work.
37:46All of this has been ruined within two hours.
37:49Just a two-hour rain has changed everything.
37:57Seeing all this rain, seeing all this mud, I just don't know what's going to happen tomorrow.
38:07Next time on Set the Mole Johnstons.
38:10Oh, man.
38:10I get the beer.
38:11Woo!
38:11If it was any big events that the Johnstons hold, it's stressful.
38:17In the field right now, we currently have three vehicles stuck in the mud.
38:23At least I have my girls here to try to have some fun.
38:26I just found out I got into nursing school.
38:28Yeah.
38:29Yeah, but now there might be something.
38:31Bryce got happy on Halloween, pretty much.
38:34The chances of me possibly being pregnant are about 50-50.
38:37So next week, if something doesn't come knocking on the front door, we'll be determining something.
38:44All right, who remembers who's first?
38:47No, no, no.
