00:12And when Fundacion Chewy co-founder Juan Carlos reached out to tell me that they had a newborn sloth in
00:17their care,
00:18I knew we had to tell her story on the Dodo.
00:20This little girl was found in late December of 2025.
00:24Her mother had been attacked by stray dogs and had sadly not made it, leaving this little one orphaned.
00:30Fundacion Chewy knew it would be a long road ahead because she was literally days old and weighed about half
00:36of one pound.
00:38No one knew if she would make it.
00:46But day by day, she got stronger
00:54and started exploring the world around her.
01:07She is a fiend during feeding time, and she's a little bit clumsy, but so cute.
01:16As of April, 2026, this little girl has reached her goal weight of 700 grams, which is about one and
01:23a half pounds.
01:24She gets plenty of time outdoors and still loves feeding time.
01:33The goal is to get her strong enough to be reintroduced to the forest and to live the way a
01:38healthy little sloth should.
