00:11Renee was quickly brought into the care of Fundacion Chui, a sloth rescue in Venezuela.
00:16He had fractured his left arm and was in need of immediate surgery.
00:23Renee had an external fixation device attached to his upper arm.
00:30Screws were placed into the bone and an external rod helped make sure his fracture would heal correctly.
00:37Renee then spent the next few months recovering.
00:42He went outside every day and was closely monitored.
00:50Finally, after five months, his arm healed enough to have the screws removed.
01:17Renee is now in rehabilitation and will be released into the wild later this year.
