00:00Spider-Man to the rescue again, all pro, pro bowler.
00:04Now you're getting the hometown hero award.
00:06Just kind of talk about you being a leader both on the field and off the field and leading by
00:10example, man.
00:12It kind of comes just second nature, you know, being able to lead my guys on the field,
00:17but also being able to lead the community and make an impact to the youth and whoever I can touch.
00:22It means a lot, and, you know, I'm continuing to do that because I know that the impact is beyond
00:27me.
00:28Do you kind of talk to the players in the locker room about getting involved in the community?
00:33Definitely. We have some conversations.
00:35I told them about what I got coming up in Atlanta.
00:37I got some guys supporting me on that, you know, and any other ideas that we can collab on.
00:42You know, I'm always open, and we've had those conversations.
00:45When we talk mentorship and you stepping into maybe more of a vocal role
00:50when it comes to your leadership for the Giants team this year,
00:52do you think you're going to mentor an Arvel Reese different than an Abdul Carter?
00:58Like, what's that process going to be like about bringing him around?
01:01Yeah, I would say it'd be different because, you know, he's playing a different position right now,
01:07so I'll kind of be mentoring from a distance.
01:10I think Jermaine will be more hands-on with him, as I was hands-on with Abdul,
01:14which I still am.
01:14I still am.
01:17But I definitely think it's going to be a different relationship,
01:19but I'm willing to help him out in any way.
01:21You've got a linebacker in court with Abdul Carter, Kayvon Thibodeau,
01:24Spider-Man Brian Burns, Tremaine Edmonds, Arvel Reese, Micah McFadden.
01:30You've got to get him.
01:31Can't forget him.
01:32Now, I mean, are we talking about a linebacker in court that you feel as though
01:35can be one of the top linebacker quarters in the NFL this year?
01:38I really feel like we're going to fuel the defense.
01:40We're going to lead the defense.
01:41They're going to look at us to make those plays.
01:44And, you know, me being the leader of that group, along with Tibbs and Maine,
01:49you know, I definitely feel like the sky's the limit.
01:51You guys have been on the field with Denard Wilson, a couple OTAs up under your belt.
01:55What do you feel like the biggest changes that are going to be on this defense this year?
01:59And what does Denard Wilson bring to this defense in terms of scheme and mentality?
02:03Exactly what you said.
02:05He's a very, very, very smart coach.
02:08Along with his mentality makes him dangerous.
02:11I feel like with him, like, you know, he's predominantly a DB coach.
02:16You know, he has a lot of hands on the corners and the safeties,
02:19kind of allowing us to do our thing up front.
02:21But when the total picture comes together, it's a beautiful thing.
02:24Lastly, if I put the over under for Brian Burns' sacks this year at 16-and-a-half,
02:30you taking the under or you taking the over?
02:32I'm always going to take the over.
02:33There you go.
02:34Yeah, risky.
02:35You feel me?
02:35I always take the over.
02:37Congratulations on the award tonight.
02:38Appreciate you, brother.
02:39Yes, sir.
