00:00Welcome to INS. Thank you.
00:02Arishmar, we'll start with you.
00:04First thing first, how was your
00:05experience working with three girls on the set?
00:08Was it difficult to deal with
00:09three of them? There was no difficulty.
00:12All that difficulty you're seeing is part
00:13of the screenplay and
00:15is this comedy of errors.
00:17And the three immensely
00:19talented people, very different
00:22individuals and their characters also very
00:24different in the film. And
00:26Prajabhati Pandey is a green
00:27flag in the film.
00:29But the best part is that all
00:31three ladies in the film, they have a certain
00:33agency. They are not just
00:35there for tokenism.
00:38They have a certain world
00:40and they are assertive in the film.
00:42And that makes it like
00:45more
00:46palatable and more wide and more progressive
00:47at the same time, I guess.
00:50So, when three girls
00:52are set up, normally
00:53it's normal
00:56people say
00:57there's too much of
01:00kapshap
01:01or gossip.
01:02Cat fights.
01:03But there's too much of gossip.
01:06So, who is the most spicy
01:07gossip?
01:10We don't believe in gossip.
01:12We're not just saying this.
01:14Yes, I don't think there's
01:14any gossip.
01:15I don't think there's ever gossip really.
01:16I feel like
01:17the industry
01:18people believe in gossip
01:20is our
01:20our
01:21our
01:22our
01:23our
01:23our
01:23our
01:23our
01:23we don't indulge in gossip.
01:28But we had a lot of fun
01:29while shooting.
01:31Work out
01:32with
01:32the
01:32drive
01:33with
01:33the
01:34hotel
01:35and
01:36the
01:38the
01:38it's just a stereotype
01:40when three women are together
01:41men also gossip a lot
01:42agar gossipy
01:43baat ho rahi hai hai to
01:44so it's not gender specific.
01:46So, let it put it some other way
01:48I'll just use
01:49you know
01:50polished word like conversation.
01:52So, how is the conversation like?
01:53Kiska
01:54qualsa
01:54favorite topic
01:55work out
01:56that has been said?
01:56I am
02:04I think she
02:06she is so funny.
02:08She is so funny.
02:09I love you.
02:09I know that.
02:11On cam.
02:12She's naturally so funny.
02:13She's entertaining.
02:14Yeah.
02:15You know she
02:15entertainment
02:16is Sara
02:17and it's
02:19it's
02:19it's
02:20and it's anonymous
02:20you know
02:22to her.
02:23And
02:23so that would be
02:25we would just keep
02:26talking
02:26random
02:27things
02:27you know
02:27it's not like somebody
02:28had a favorite conversation
02:30sometimes it could be about food
02:31sometimes it could be about
02:33you know
02:34what are we working on?
02:35I had a favorite topic.
02:36What was your favorite topic?
02:37You all know.
02:38Of course.
02:38Of course.
02:39Of course.
02:41And you all used to say
02:43don't say don't say
02:43we won't tell them it's okay.
02:45Oh.
02:45I still don't remember only.
02:47No no I won't tell you
02:48it's just for our ears only.
02:50Tell me after the interview.
02:51Yeah done.
02:51Okay.
02:52So it's a lot of fun.
02:53We used to eat dinner together.
02:55Yeah.
02:55You know.
02:56To pack up.
02:56Because we were on an outdoor
02:58pack up.
02:58We would like sit and you know
03:02of course our director.
03:03Juno.
03:04Our producer.
03:04All of us.
03:05So.
03:05It was just nice conversations.
03:08It wasn't like
03:09specific to certain subject.
03:11Now let's talk about the script.
03:13When the first time you all read the script.
03:16And
03:16read about your characters.
03:19So it happens many a times.
03:20A lot of actors have spoken about it.
03:22If you have two or three leaves in the film.
03:26Maybe they are female.
03:27Maybe they are female.
03:27Maybe they are male.
03:28It happens at times.
03:29That you feel okay.
03:30If I do that or do that,
03:32then it will be better.
03:33So did it happen to you Sarah?
03:35As a much demand.
03:46I am.
03:48I am.
03:49I am.
04:04I am.
04:05is so funny that i think whatever happened happened for the best but in another world
04:11yes i would like to play nilofa oh i really would so what was did you like the lines or
04:18did you like
04:18the jokes you know i think that um periva jaman in narration lee or per set baby jabham
04:28log shoot karte the mudassar sir sabke lines karte the and i actually used to love the way mudassar
04:36sir pitched nilofa yeah and i mean to see how rockul has made it her own but done what sir
04:43has asked of
04:44her doing such good justice to those lines i've seen everything of hers for sure i i have loved
04:55it's too good yellow relying no no she wanted to be in the love only
05:01it happened the other way around also no so the film came to me when actually it was cast yeah
05:08yeah i i
05:08it came to me in the end okay it came to me in the end but having said that like
05:14ayushman said earlier
05:15i think all the three characters are very different from one another from the kind of clothes they wear
05:20to the way they speak to their dialect and to their personalities so at no point do you feel
05:27jo aapka sawaal tha ki you know as three actors ki muje woh karna chee hai woh karna chee hai
05:31i think all
05:32of us were very much in our characters and not insecure of the fact that aray uska zyadha hai ya
05:39uska
05:39kam because kisi ka zyadha kam nahi hai i think all three characters are so beautifully woven in the film's
05:45narrative um yeah
05:47so uh so uh sarah you have done earlier uh character from hindi heartland i think
05:52uh this time how how much prep was required because you are doing like same hindi heartland
06:00similar not same little similar character chanchal kumari psycho honors so
06:06kitna uh dialogue on joh local flavor hota us level per tip me dayari
06:12yeh johan yeh film jaha ki hai bahan kee humare director bhi hai so i think the most important
06:19thing was to jaysa apne kaha whether it's a zara hatke zara bachke aur an atrangi re one has done
06:24this
06:25before but it's important to let go of what you've done and get into something new yeh kirdar na hai
06:30yeh dunya nahi hai yeh co-actors nahi director nahi so i think just and i'm working with aishman on
06:38other films and in fact one day on set i asked him that you know what do you think and
06:42he's like just
06:43do what mudassar sir is saying and i think that i mean of course you have your own personal prep
06:48you
06:48you know want to know about the place you want to know about girls from the place all of that's
06:53fine
06:53but ultimately we had to just listen to our director he knows this world
06:59better than any of us he's made this world we're happy to be a part of it
07:04amishman i think you spoke in the press conference that you have seen the original
07:07one also the pati patni yeah
07:11so jab wo the kaapi saala i think 78 or 79
07:14yeah so kus samain is tari ki kahania kam aathe in the stream pe
07:19so in the last few years we have seen however there are three in this
07:24so do you think ki matlab aaj ki date mein thoda sa aisa loge ko laghe
07:29chokhe social media bein kai comments sa aathe in this i think there are a lot of negative comments
07:34also ki is tari ki kahania kyunki pehle aagay hai toh loge compare zyada kare
07:40meha ya maan na hai ki klasic love story or classic comedy kabhi out of fashion nahi hoti
07:46woh humesha aap woh churn out karte hai same beats hoti hun ke koji bhi aap romantic film
07:50dekhi hai koji bhi aap comedy film dekhi hai most of the beats are very similar
07:53comedy of errors ka ek formula hai this is a formulac film for sure
07:58but formulaic film ka ye hona baut zhuri hai ki woh entertaining ho yeh entertaining film
08:03hai ek family film hai mostly mein joo film mein kartho humesha uska subject kush naya hota hai
08:08ismei woh nahi hai but this is like for me it's dal chawal ki humara humare desh ka
08:13staple diet hai aur achche dal chawal khan mein baut mazat hai kujza and it's that film so you
08:18can't take that away from the audience kukye audience humesha ek aasi film dekhna chahati
08:22hai jis mei aap pariwaar ke saath baih kar hush sakyein aur enjoy kar sakyein and pati pati
08:27or vo dhu of me hai talking about comedy of errors uh which one is yours favorite
08:36mujhe uh hasina man jae ki bohuchhi lagti hai um uske alaba uh houseful welcome no entry no
08:45entry hera fairy hera fairy yeah hera fairy is like my all-time favorite i think all these films
08:50are like even golmal purani wali nahi series bhi golmal mujhe baut pasand hai so this is this is
08:56that genre yeah so yeh genre ka bhi of course of course of course of course and so uh we
09:03were
09:03talking about sanjee kumar i think you spoke in press conference what do you like best about
09:07sanjee kumar because both films even i remember pati pati or what
09:10yaar unke expressions na kamal ke hai i am glad ki humare film ka teaser unke chehera
09:15shuru ho hain ki itna
09:20endearing ke saath saath bhoati natural expression deena wain 1970s mein jaha par ap thoda sa
09:26galleries ko play karte hai it's it was very different the way he notices the lead and he
09:33you know blinks his eye and every movement was so measured and yet so natural i think only sanjeev kumar
09:41could have done that wo us time ke uh subtle actors mein se ek te yet commercial at the same
09:46time
09:46ki kyun honne commercial film mein bhi ki hai so he set a benchmark and i'm glad that we all
09:51are
09:52part of that legacy kyunki iconic film hai uske baad ek aur bani hai abh ye tisri hai so
09:58it's it's iconic toh mein yeh cheeze bhi baut madde naza rakta hon ki hudur koi film karo toh
10:02ki kaha se aarehan ho loog there is uh jungle also in the film you are playing of course so
10:08i want to
10:09know from all of you that you all are you know avid travelers you travel karte hai haap
10:15so of course of course you have a jungle safari experience so which was tell us something about
10:21your safari experience and uh which animal can start a strange encounter ya kuch as a daravana encounter
10:28uh uh
10:39My dad is from army, so we were posted in Sili Guri.
10:43So for Sili Guri, where there was a mess, temporary accommodation,
10:50they came to the night, wild hati.
10:53So they came to the night and they broke their cars.
10:58They would just crush the cars, they would do all of that.
11:02Yeah, and in the morning you wake up and you're like, oh shit, everything is bad.
11:06So it's like a mess, we came to the night and they came to the night,
11:09so we thought that the night came to the night and the ones from the balcony were actually saw
11:11They came to the night and they came to the night and we saw the night and we saw the
11:13night.
11:13No, not the night, but the wild ones.
11:17Otherwise they don't really disturb them.
11:21They are not destructive.
11:23So we saw the night and then the other day, we saw the sound.
11:27And then we saw the balcony.
11:30So what does the drama mean?
11:31The balcony is not the only thing.
11:33Did you see it from the balcony and throw it away from the balcony?
11:35Okay, I thought...
11:36I saw it from the balcony and throw it away from the balcony.
11:39No, no.
11:40That one was scary.
11:41No, it was scary in the sense that...
11:43But I have got a title for a film.
11:44Silly Gudi with Silly Kudi.
11:47It's a great title, guys.
11:50You should do the picture.
11:52Silly Gudi.
11:53Silly Gudi.
11:54Nice, but I like the title.
11:55It's a nice title.
11:57Nice.
11:58I love safaris a lot.
11:59I love safaris.
12:01In India, Kazi Ranga, Ranthambore, Gheer.
12:05Gheer, we are going again.
12:07And outside, I have been to Kruger National Park in Africa.
12:13So, my violent encounter was in Kazi Ranga.
12:16The safari gate was closed.
12:19And suddenly, a rhino came in front of us.
12:24And the rhino started to run on our way.
12:28And the car is back.
12:32And thankfully, he got saved.
12:33Because his child was around and around,
12:35Rhino went to us that side.
12:36But yeah.
12:37Normally, rhinos are very destructive.
12:39Gypsies are going to shoot.
12:42Two days ago, it was a forest ranger.
12:44So, it was crazy.
12:45Yeah.
12:48Same question for me.
12:49I don't think so.
12:51I don't think so.
12:53The first time I went to Massai Mara,
12:55I was going to shoot for a shoot.
12:56My first cover ever.
12:58Massai Mara.
12:59Wow.
12:59Massai Mara.
13:00With Rahul Ghimani?
13:01With…
13:02With Rahul Ghimani.
13:03Yes.
13:04And Rohan Sheshita was shooting.
13:06Okay.
13:07And all of us were saying,
13:08Nicklo Nicklo,
13:09because his head was in the background.
13:12And Rohan and me,
13:13I was in the first cover.
13:15So, I had a good photo.
13:16I had a good photo.
13:16I had a good photo.
13:17And my head was almost very close to us.
13:21And then, we had to run and leave.
13:22Because we were endangering our lives.
13:24For a photo.
13:25Which is not cool.
13:26We shouldn't do that.
13:27Yeah.
13:27We did.
13:29And…
13:29Sorry.
13:31Yeah.
13:32That's it.
13:32Talking about the film again.
13:35So, there's Ayushman, Rakul, Sarah and Varnika.
13:38Yes.
13:39Who is not here right now.
13:40So, all big stars.
13:44Recently, there have been a lot of discussions that,
13:47now in theatres, only multi-stars will work.
13:50And well-known actors from industry,
13:53they have given this statement.
13:54What are your thoughts on it, Ayushman?
13:56Yeah.
13:57I think it's a good story, a good film.
13:59These are all the formulas.
14:01Who is talking about it?
14:01Who is talking about it?
14:02You can tell yourself.
14:04Immediately after lockdown,
14:0512th film called film came.
14:07It was not a multi-starrer.
14:09It was a small film.
14:11It broke all the rules.
14:12If the film is good, it will work.
14:13Irrespective.
14:14It really doesn't matter.
14:15I agree with that.
14:17Yeah.
14:17And especially after Durendra,
14:18this discussion is going on.
14:21You know, we can discuss how much ever we want.
14:23Ultimately, audiences, I don't think,
14:25we can get involved in this discussion.
14:26These are all industry standpoint discussions.
14:28Ultimately, the picture is good.
14:30People will be entertaining.
14:31If it doesn't look, it will work.
14:34If it doesn't work, it will work.
14:36No, they are right.
14:37Janata Janardhan.
14:38We make films for the audiences.
14:39If they lap it up,
14:41which I know they are well for this film,
14:42then we are home.
14:43So, but do you think that audience have become very critical?
14:48I think because, you know, because of the social media,
14:52a harsh word we use.
14:54You know, at times they are so, so good.
14:57If someone is a fan, they get lost.
14:59If someone is a fan, they get lost.
15:01If someone is a fan, they get lost.
15:02So, and they have become very knowledgeable also.
15:05As far as film is concerned,
15:06in that film,
15:07in that film,
15:07in that film,
15:07in that film,
15:07in that film,
15:08in that film,
15:08in that film,
15:09things like that.
15:10So,
15:11do you think that this,
15:12you know,
15:13effects film before it releases,
15:14because you all,
15:16you know,
15:16you see all the comments that,
15:17you know,
15:18start coming once the teaser releases,
15:20once the trailer comes out.
15:21Every actor goes through a honeymoon period
15:24in the beginning of their career.
15:26You get unanimous love.
15:27But after some years,
15:29you will get criticism
15:30when you reach the helm of your career.
15:32Like, they always support the underdog.
15:34When you're not the underdog anymore.
15:36Then,
15:36they'll probably be like,
15:38little critical.
15:40And,
15:40at the same time,
15:41we live in a day and age,
15:42when,
15:42you will not get unanimous love.
15:44You'll always be criticized.
15:46This criticism,
15:47it was before,
15:48but before,
15:48in a coffee shop,
15:49in a shop,
15:51in a shop,
15:51in a shop,
15:52in a shop.
15:52But,
15:53there's a difference.
15:55There's a difference.
15:58And,
16:00I think,
16:01it's,
16:02it's,
16:02it's,
16:03that,
16:03that's,
16:03it's,
16:03how long the film came into a trailer,
16:08how long the film did it come like?
16:10How long the film did it,
16:12I loved the trailer,
16:13personally.
16:13The film came into the universe.
16:14But,
16:15I've never seen it as a trailer.
16:17And,
16:18what did I get on the film?
16:20It's such a brilliant film.
16:21It's a benchmark,
16:22unparalleled.
16:23And,
16:24it's very difficult to break that benchmark now.
16:25Because I think good filmmaking or good stories like I said before, it will definitely work.
16:30Whether it's a 12th film or a small film, or a big film.
16:34I think La Pata Ladies also worked.
16:35La Pata Ladies.
16:36Yeah, La Pata Ladies also worked.
16:39So, but then, as you said that, Shubhaat may underdog support.
16:43Later on, obviously, they become very critical.
16:46But obviously, everybody is human.
16:48And you know, when you all put on so much hard work,
16:52and you see that the audience has not even seen.
16:55And they have become so critical of everything.
16:57So, I think it affects a lot.
16:59Like mentally, it affects us.
17:02I think when you are newer, and when you just start out, you get affected.
17:10Luckily, when I started out, social media wasn't so prominent.
17:14This is only the last 5 years.
17:16And I think people have started having an opinion only through the pandemic.
17:20Yeah.
17:20I think last 5-6 years, when you know, there's a lot of time and social media was around.
17:24So, I feel that ultimately, as an actor, you have to shut that noise.
17:29And you have to distance yourself from the chatter.
17:34And just put your blinders on and work.
17:37And then disconnect.
17:39Because if you start getting affected by what everyone is saying on social media,
17:43then you will be a disaster.
17:47So, yeah.
17:49I think anybody who is in the public eye is not just the actors.
17:52Yeah.
17:52It could be politicians.
17:53It could be businessmen.
17:55Who are in the public eye, who are famous.
17:58They will go through this.
17:59And if you are not able to deal with it, you are not fit to be a public figure.
18:03You have to probably learn the skill of detachment.
18:08Yeah.
18:09Through success, failures, criticism, love, validations, everything.
18:13Only then you can survive here.
18:14Otherwise, this is not meant for you.
18:17I think I agree with what both of them are saying.
18:21But I'll be lying if I say I don't get affected.
18:24I do get affected because ultimately I, you know, do what I do for my audiences.
18:29And if I disappoint them, I don't feel good.
18:31But I think somewhere in this journey of having been here now for a while,
18:36you actually start also working for yourself.
18:38And I think I learned that late in my career.
18:40I think for very long, the initial focus was, and it will always be.
18:44I said Janata Janata and I meant that.
18:46The focus will always be the audience.
18:48But if you truly start enjoying your work, you enjoy the process.
18:53And you tell yourself, not in a lie, but in a genuine way that I have done my best.
18:59That absorbs you of any sort of mental guilt and self-flagellation for no reason.
19:05Then you feel like, look, I have done what I have done.
19:07What I have done with myself, I have done that much.
19:10And then I will say, I have done my best.
19:12That gets easier if you put in your best.
19:16And then let it go.
19:17Now that we are talking about social media and audiences' criticism,
19:20we have recently a very, very mixed hour of 90s.
19:23He was criticized.
19:24And then there was discussion also in the entire social media.
19:27Badman's story, why is he doing all those videos?
19:33Isse aapke demag me vichar aata hai kya ki everybody should be prepared for all kind of phases of life?
19:40Isse tarah ke vichar aapke demag me aata hai?
19:42Yeah, if you go through the different spectrums of happiness or successes, failures,
19:48it happens with everyone, not just people in the industry.
19:52It could be happening to cricketers, sportspersons, businessmen, politicians, everyone.
19:57So, I think, jab tak aapke durruti zindagi mein simple hou.
20:03And choices click kar jahe, universe should work in your favor.
20:07But, I don't know what else to say.
20:09Bas aapke demag sahi rahe hai.
20:11Yeah.
20:11I think, cho aap bol rahe hai ki phases.
20:14Every person has to be prepared.
20:15Irrespective of the profession you are in.
20:17Life is never going to be a straight line.
20:20There are ups, there are downs.
20:22And that's a part, that's what life is.
20:24And we all have to be prepared.
20:25Abhi aap actor ho, yaap ek normal insan ho jaha,
20:29waha pe aapke neighbors kuch na kuch baat kare.
20:31Kabhi koi koi baat kare.
20:32Kabhi kuch.
20:34You just have to be prepared.
20:35That's life.
20:37By preparing yourself for all kind of phases.
20:40I meant professional phase.
20:42Yeah.
20:42Itna soch na ni chihye.
20:44Agar hem itna soch, mere hesaab se.
20:46Itna soch na ni chihye.
20:47Jab joo phase aayega, tab ki tab dekhenge na.
20:52Itna soch ke aap pehle because something is happening somewhere.
20:56I think it's one day at a time.
20:57Yeah, it's always one day at a time.
20:58I live life one day at a time.
20:59Ki aaj ka din hai.

21:51And she is a very creative person like Ayushman was saying in one interview.
21:55And I would have said the exact same thing.
21:56You know, she is an artist.
21:58Yeah.
21:59And yeah, we are missing her today here.
22:02Yeah, we are from the same city, Chandigarh.

22:25There is like a homogenous love for healthy food.
