00:00Are the Knicks just better than the Sixers?
00:02Is that what we're looking at, on why they got a 3-0 lead?
00:05They're just a better team, right?
00:07It's a combination of a couple things, Big Sills.
00:10Number one, I think people overvalued the Sixers' win in Game 7 versus Boston.
00:16A Boston that didn't have, obviously, Jason Tatum.
00:20They had traded Drew Holler in the offseason.
00:22They traded Porzingis in the offseason.
00:24And they had lost Luke Cornett and, obviously, Al Horford in the offseason.
00:29So, they were a shell of themselves, right?
00:32And it took a great comeback to come back.
00:35But Joel Embiid was being guarded by Jalen Brown at points during that series
00:40and then that Game 7.
00:41So, when they got to New York, New York has just almost figured themselves out.
00:46They almost, Big Sills reinvented themselves after Game 3,
00:49going the ball through Carl Anthony Towns at the top of the key,
00:53running their action off of their 5-out, which is either a flex cut, split screen,
00:57flare screen, so they just kind of got themselves going.
01:02But here's the problem, Big Sills.
01:04You brought it up a little bit.
01:06I'm going to slam the door.
01:08Ready?
01:09And I'm not scared to say it.
01:10The Sixers are better without Joel Embiid.
01:13It's flat out.
01:14Number one, he can't stay healthy.
01:17Number two, he's more, you work for Ted Turner.
01:20He's maybe trying to get a job for Vince McMahon in the WWE.
01:23He's more worried about theatrics than playing ball.
01:27And then you saw it, folks.
01:29Games one, they could absolutely run out of New York.
01:32I mean, and they literally picked at Embiid every possession they could.
01:36Game two, what do you see?
01:38No Embiid.
01:39The ball moves.
01:40PG looks really good.
01:42Edgecombe best game in the series.
01:44Maxie was going.
01:45But then Nick Nurse decided, I'm just not going to sub anybody.
01:47And then the Knicks just waited the game out.
01:49And then the Knicks took over down the stretch.
01:52Now we get to game three.
01:54OG's out.
01:54But Robinson's back.
01:56But so is Embiid.
01:57What happens?
01:58Paul George starts out great.
02:01Embiid wants to make it a circus.
02:03He throws down Carl Anthony Towns.
02:05And then the next thing you know, Mitchell Robinson put him on a poster
02:09that will be given by all Knicks fans, the Sixers fans,
02:13for the next 10 Christmases.
02:15Mitchell Robinson, if you can sign one for me, please,
02:17I want to use it as well.
02:18So when you get it all said and done, we overvalued Philadelphia.
02:23But Mike Brown has started to figure it out with this team.
02:26And honestly, still, it's about the sum of their parts,
02:30not just Jalen Brunson.
02:32Are you surprised, though, how great Jalen Brunson has turned out to be?
02:38Correct me if I'm wrong, Coach.
02:39This guy's not a first-rounder, right?
02:42Are you surprised on how he's able to go?
02:45And by the way, doesn't it look like he elevates his game into postseason?
02:51He's going for 30 now.
02:52I mean, have you been surprised by what he's done at the NBA level?
02:57Let's put it to you this way.
02:59There's two ways to look at it.
03:01If you look at it where he was at Villanova, which is National Player of the Year,
03:04you're down there in Philadelphia, he was an absolute rock star playing for Jay Wright.
03:08Now, he goes second round because of the measurables.
03:12He's short.
03:13He's not athletic.
03:15He can't really jump.
03:16But he's such a cerebral player.
03:19The first time I thought to myself, this guy's going to have a career,
03:23there was a game I think it was in the Western Conference Finals,
03:26and Luka Doddic missed.
03:28And he dropped 41.
03:29And I said, oh, my goodness.
03:31Now, if Mark Cuban would have just paid the kid four for 55,
03:35you would have two completely different franchises.
03:39Dallas probably still has Luka, and they're ascending.
03:43And the Knicks would be, well, basically the Knicks before he got there.
03:47So the Knicks hit lightning in a bottle, and he has been everything to the city.
03:52But here's the thing.
03:54New York, it's like you're judged on can you get them over the hump, right?
03:59You got Bobby V coming on.
04:00If the Mets ever win the World Series, it's the first time in 86.
04:05One son would have a statue in front of the stadium, right?
04:09If the Jets could ever win a Super Bowl, I actually may cry.
04:15And then there's the Knicks.
04:16See, folks, New York City, forget all the other pro sports.
04:21It's a basketball town.
04:22It's a basketball city.
04:24And every other team, league is divided, right?
04:28You have the Jets and the Giants, divide the city, right?
04:33You have the Mets and the Yankees, divide the city.
04:36I mean, I don't think Brooklyn cares about the Nets.
04:39So if the Knicks win, folks, if the Knicks win,
04:44if you live in New York City, run for cover,
04:46because it's going to be bad.
