00:15league how the new york knicks became champions how they uh are going to repeat next year if
00:20that's even a possibility and why uh it's a new york world and y'all are just living in it

00:26find it interesting uh there's a there's an interesting thing going on right now that i'm
00:30somehow involved with in regards to charles oakley the former nick yeah who uh you went to san antonio
00:37on his own because the nicks don't invite him because he's persona non grata to uh james zone
00:43and the master square garden and he showed up there showed up in cleveland on the road when
00:48they're still playing the calves and apparently he's in new york now uh hoping to insert himself
00:53into uh i guess the nick conversation and uh somebody close to charles oakley basically told
00:59me to mind my own business when it comes to charles oakley's relationship with uh the garden and the
01:05knicks why whoa why now again i'm not charles i'm not sure what he's looking to gain by saying the
01:14ridiculous things he said about madison square garden and no i don't know every aspect of his
01:19personal story but i do know charles oakley we did uh have business meetings together way back in the
01:25day and i just find it interesting that someone that appears to be so desperate to uh be invited to
01:32the parade and to be inserted back into the uh confines of master square garden like every other
01:38former nick has been able to do including patrick ewing why he doesn't understand exactly why he's not
01:46invited back and why they don't want him back because you can't go scorched earth time after
01:52time after time about jim dolan or the garden or guys like patrick ewing and not expect them to feel
01:59a certain way about it i love charles oakley the basketball player i like charles oakley the person
02:05like i said i've had business meetings with him i've been in his company he's been on my show this
02:11is not
02:11me with a personal agenda against charles oakley i happen to like charles oakley but when you say
02:18the things you say about the guy that owns the building about people that were your teammates
02:24that played for the knicks who have repaired their relationship with the garden and are now welcome
02:29back with open arms you don't get invited back like i don't know why it's so difficult i know a
02:35lot
02:36of you out there who've never met charles aren't nick fans have never been to the garden and don't know
02:42the real story are coming out against me because of my take that he shouldn't be welcome at the parade
02:48and the garden shouldn't invite him back until he takes the appropriate steps to be welcome back
02:54you people know nothing about the situation and i understand it's very hard for some of you
03:00to divorce fandom from reality i get that none of you have met him none of you know what really

03:07place but you're a fan of his for when he played for the knicks and i get that i respect

03:14can't call the garden a slave plantation and think they're gonna go come on back you just can't do
03:22things like that you can't publicly attack patrick ewing even if there's some basis to your criticisms
03:29of patrick ewing when you play with him and not expect people who like patrick ewing and support
03:37patrick ewing not to feel a certain way about it and in the video that everybody has seen which dates
03:42back i it feels like 10 years ago now wow when he was at the garden yeah and got physically
03:48removed
03:49from the garden right by garden security and that was a bad look for the garden as well you also
03:55got to
03:55take some responsibility for what you were doing that night and your behavior that night so long
04:01story short i want to make sure this is very clear because people don't maybe don't hear me uh they

04:07wax in their ears okay all right i think it would be great if i wake up one day where
04:14charles oakley
04:15and the garden have repaired that relationship i think it would be great if one day he's honored
04:22at the garden and gets a standing ovation again from nick fans but that day is not gonna happen
04:29and should not happen until charles takes some responsibility for his part in it the whole and
