00:00Rest in peace to legendary Hall of Fame manager Bobby Cox here.
00:03One of the best to ever do it.
00:05One of those true old salts in Major League Baseball,
00:08which means you had a problem with an umpire.
00:10He was coming to that dugout.
00:11He was going to cover for his players.
00:13Nobody did it like Bobby Cox.
00:15And by the way, it's amazing that they only picked up,
00:17talking about the Atlanta Braves, one world championship,
00:19because every single year, Craig,
00:21it felt like they were the best team in baseball in the regular season.
00:25Perennial contenders, always in the playoffs,
00:27and finally got over the hump.
00:28At least that one time here.
00:30But Bobby Cox, one of the best and one of the most colorful to ever do it.
00:34Yeah, and because the Braves played the Marlins quite a bit,
00:37I was able to interact with Cox over the course of his career
00:41and have a chance to interview him along with the other reporters
00:44as you normally do during the day.
00:46And this guy was just as good with the reporters as he was a manager.
00:49He really got it.
00:50As you said, he was sort of an old school guy,
00:53led the Braves to a ton of success.
00:55And I was really happy to see a few years ago
00:57him get into the National Baseball Hall of Fame before he passed away.
01:00So an all-time manager,
01:02and certainly you can see on social media,
01:04when you get this kind of response of former players coming out
01:09and saying that he was like my second dad
01:11and what an amazing guy he was,
01:12I think it goes without saying that we lost a true legend yesterday.
01:16But yes, condolences to the Bobby Cox and Atlanta Braves family.
01:20Truly, as Donnie would say, one of a kind.
01:23he was just like the guy.
01:23I don't know.
01:23He likes to pick up the guy.
