00:00How about this here, Bobby, with David Stearns?
00:03And was there one issue in your opinion that you thought maybe they missed on
00:08or maybe over-evaluated on why they're in this position right now?
00:12Is there, like, again, a moment where you think when they were constructing the roster
00:17where maybe they should have went in a different direction?
00:22You know, I wasn't with every heartbeat of those decisions.
00:27It seemed like they wanted to get rid of the old and bring in the new.
00:31And it seems like David probably wants to build his team there.
00:35And, you know, that homegrown group that were there all kind of got the exit stage left.
00:44And, you know, for fans who have posters on the wall and have invested time, energy,
00:51and loyalty into players and organization, it's a tough transition.
00:57And it'll take some time.
00:59You know, if the new pieces fit together, that time will be shortened
01:04and the memory will be lost a little sooner.
01:08But I think there's a lot of great memories with, you know, the Nimmo's and Alonso's
01:13and, you know, the group that's no longer there, McNeil and all.
01:19Bobby V, how would you, as a manager, you know, keep everything calm and the water's calm?
01:25You know, adversity, sometimes, you know, you get to see who really your team is
01:30and what kind of character your team is through the adversity more sometimes than through the success.
01:34What would you be doing with the Mets right now and how you can keep the faith going
01:39after still a long season to go?
01:42No, you know, Dan, there's no magic formula.
01:45There's no potion that applies to all groups of people.
01:50You know, you have to know what the situation is.
01:53You got to, you know, you say settle it down.
01:57Maybe you have to stir it up.
01:58You don't know if guys are too complacent or too anxious.
02:04And, you know, the group of leadership there has got to read temperature of the room
02:10and adjust the temperature accordingly.
