00:00This is NBA Nightcap, presented by Patron, with Dirk Nowitzki, Blake Griffin, Steve Nash, and Udonis Haslam.
00:10Here's your host, Taylor Rooks.
00:14Shea, Gilgis, Alexander, and the Thunder stay undefeated in these playoffs, as Shea scored 22.
00:21The reigning champs with a 2-0 series lead over the Lakers in the Western Conference Simmings.
00:27And with that, welcome on into the Lounge at Stage 11.
00:31I'm Taylor Rooks with BG, Dirk, Steve, and UD.
00:35And the Thunder are at it again.
00:37I mean, what can you say?
00:38Still undefeated in these playoffs, and you watch these games, and it is just unfathomable how deep this team is,
00:45UD.
00:45There is no drop-off.
00:47I mean, if you look, they only had one guy, excuse me, two guys off the bench scoring double figures.
00:52But even the guys that don't score, there's no drop-off to the assignment.
00:55There's no drop-off defensively.
00:57There's no drop-off to running your offense.
00:59There's no drop-off to execution.
01:00That's very rare in a basketball team when you can have four or five guys, because mind you, they go
01:059-10 deep.
01:06You can have four or five guys come in and still play at a high level of basketball.
01:10Yeah, I mean, I know it was an 18-point game again, but you do sort of have to tip
01:15your cap to the Lakers,
01:16because they did come out, and they played good basketball.
01:19They just can't sustain it for long enough.
01:21And that's what Oklahoma City does.
01:22They do that to everybody.
01:24But, man, it's just Oklahoma City.
01:26It's like you get Jerry McCain in a trade, doesn't play much in the first series, and comes in.
01:33He's huge for them.
01:35Bag of chips and a soda.
01:36Yeah.
01:36You can't give up much.
01:38Bag of chips and a soda.
01:39What soda are we talking about?
01:41Czech soda.
01:42Great.
01:43But, I mean, to this point, you watch them, and it just feels like such a high mountain to climb.
01:49The Lakers had some things going there in the first half.
01:52Then we get to the third quarter, and it just feels like an avalanche, and it's hard to get out
01:57of it, Steve.
01:57I mean, generally, like we said, they play like a 10-man rotation.
02:00So the Lakers guys had given everything just to be in that position by halftime,
02:04and we thought at halftime this would be the challenge for them,
02:07is how do they sustain that effort both sides of the ball?
02:10I mean, these guys push you.
02:12You know, they're up into you physically, defensively, and then offensively.
02:15They're so talented.
02:17You have to load up.
02:17You have to scramble on the back line.
02:19I just think it takes its toll, and by the time you get to that end of that third quarter,
02:23so often they've found one way to separate, whether it's the bench, whether it's the defense,
02:27whether it's the offense.
02:28You know, tonight, Shea wasn't the typical Shea, but other guys step up.
02:32McCain, A.J. Mitchell, you know, Chet had some incredible moments.
02:35So they're just a fantastic group, and a pleasure to watch.
02:38Well, you know, speaking of pleasure to watch, we've got someone joining us.
02:43It is time now for our premium player, presented by Patron.
02:47Hey!
02:48What's up?
02:49Hey!
02:51Welcome to the show, buddy.
02:54Welcome to the show, Jed.
02:55Thank you, thank you.
02:55You know, we saw you in the background doing your little dance,
02:58so we know that you're happy right now.
03:00And you should be.
03:02You had 18 points tonight, and the thunder got you for these moments.
03:05You have showed up in a big way.
03:07You have made an incredible team more incredible.
03:10How have you approached enhancing this team throughout the playoffs?
03:15Man, just taking everything I can from the teammates.
03:17Like, they've been here, done that.
03:19Super mature team.
03:21I get to ask questions to the best players in the league.
03:23So, anything I can, offensively, defensively, in practice,
03:27even in the first series when I wasn't playing that much,
03:30like, just taking everything I can and providing energy for my team
03:33and any spark I can.
03:35Jared, you just mentioned it, and before you got on it,
03:37we were talking about, you know, there was a couple games in that Phoenix series
03:40that you didn't play as many minutes as you probably wanted.
03:43But talk about not only yourself, but just the mindset of your entire team.
03:47You know, some of the guys that minutes go up and down,
03:50what that does for your locker room when everybody's just ready to play
03:54at any moment.
03:55Yeah, I mean, everybody, like, no matter who the player is,
03:59like, we're ready for any opportunity.
04:01We talk about it a lot.
04:02Like, I was talking to Kay Ridge, talking to Wiggs in the first series.
04:05We're ready for any opportunity, and that's why we prepare like we do,
04:08and the culture here has prepared me to do that.
04:10And being able to – they help me stay ready, you know,
04:13whether it's in practice, the coaching staff here.
04:16Like, they do an amazing job of that,
04:18and I really credit them for giving me the confidence to go out there
04:21and just be me.
04:22Hey, Jared, man, Udonis here.
04:23Great game tonight, bro.
04:25Appreciate you.
04:25Appreciate you.
04:27Watching you since you came over from Philadelphia,
04:29you had some injuries, a little bit of up and down.
04:31But since you've gotten to OKC,
04:33it just seems like you've found a new breath of fresh air.
04:35You're always smiling.
04:36You're enjoying it even when you're not playing.
04:38Just talk about just being in that locker room
04:39and the joy that you're playing with right now
04:41because it's fun to watch, bro.
04:43Man, I thank God every day.
04:44This is a blessing.
04:46You know, when I first got traded, it was heartbreaking.
04:49At that point, it was heartbreaking.
04:50I didn't understand what was going on.
04:52But coming here, it's been nothing but love.
04:54And I'm just so grateful.
04:56I share my gratitude with the team.
04:58Maybe a little too much sometimes.
04:59You know, sometimes I get on their nerves.
05:00But I really appreciate them
05:02and everything they do for me and my career.
05:05And it's worked out, and it's a blessing to be here.
05:07And I'm truly, truly, like, grateful.
05:09Like, every single day, every moment,
05:11I get to thank God every day for being in Oklahoma City.
05:13That's beautiful.
05:15Congrats, Jarrett.
05:16Good win.
05:18Obviously, you're up 2-0 now.
05:19You took care of home court.
05:20What are you expecting going back to L.A. now?
05:23Yeah, definitely a physical game,
05:25even more physical than it was.
05:26You know, they're at home,
05:27so it's going to be loud for them.
05:29And we've got to weather the storm
05:30no matter any runs that come our way, highs and lows.
05:33And AC does a great job of helping the team
05:35and talking to us.
05:36And I'm allowed to talk to him as well
05:37and ask him questions about that.
05:38So I'm excited to go to L.A.
05:39Got a lot of family and friends there,
05:41so it'll be fun.
05:43Jarrett, great game.
05:44Incredible rhythm and decisiveness tonight.
05:46Now that you've gotten to know your teammates in OKC,
05:49like, who's the biggest threat to your TikTok empire?
05:56You know, I think J. Will, for sure.
05:59J. Will, they want to be in it.
06:01A lot of them want to be in it,
06:02but, you know, they got to keep it calm.
06:04You know what I mean?
06:05They act like J. Will.
06:06Hart swears he hates it.
06:07Hart swears he hates it.
06:08I swear he loves it.
06:09But, you know, it's fun getting with this team
06:12and being here with them
06:13and being able to ask them questions
06:14about if they want to do it or not
06:16and being able to do some TikToks with them.
06:18Jared, which one of these guys
06:20do you want to see do a TikTok?
06:22UD, Steve, Dirk, BG?
06:24I think you should get Dirk.
06:25Who do you want to see?
06:27It's UD.
06:28Got to.
06:29Listen, say less.
06:30I'm with you.
06:31Say less.
06:31I'm with you.
06:32That's the perfect answer.
06:34Whenever you read.
06:36What would you have UD do?
06:40You know, I think, you know,
06:41he's a little bit older there,
06:42so we got to maybe bring it back to a 90s song,
06:46you know, maybe something from back then.
06:47Okay.
06:48It'll be a little groovy.
06:49It'll be groovy, though.
06:49Groovy.
06:50I love it.
06:51Hey, Jared, listen, here.
06:53Don't threaten me with a good time now, boy.
06:55Why don't you do that now?
06:56I'll be ready.
06:58Jared, one more thing before you go.
07:00You had a really great moment.
07:01I want to show you this photo
07:02that you talked about from game one
07:04because you said you want to frame it
07:05and put it into your house.
07:07What do you look at first when you see this photo?
07:10And just what does this moment represent to you?
07:13Man, this is amazing.
07:15I mean, being able to look at the crowd
07:16and they're doing the three-point celebration,
07:19I don't think, I mean, as a player, as an athlete,
07:22to see that happen after you hit a shot,
07:25I think that's one of the greatest feelings
07:26you could have as an athlete.
07:28And so once I get that frame,
07:29hopefully we can get that done sooner or later.
07:32But I'm definitely going to hang that up.
07:34And it's an awesome feeling.
07:35When I'm like UD's age, I can show my kids
07:38and be able to tell them I had some emotion back then.
07:42Incredible.
07:43I love it.
07:43We will make sure we get UD to do that TikTok.
07:46We will send it your way.
07:47We will be anticipating your grade on his performance.
07:50Incredible game.
07:51Sounds good.
07:51Congratulations, Jared.
07:52Thanks for joining us.
07:53Thank you, Jared.
07:54Appreciate it.
07:54They didn't sell high enough.
07:59Shout out Philly.
08:02How we going, man?
08:02I love it.
08:03Oh, good stuff.
08:04So UD's going to be our TikTok star.
08:06We'll make sure.
08:07He said nothing more to work.
08:08What song are you going with, UD?
08:10Whatever they want.
08:11I don't know none of these songs they be playing.
08:13I don't even have TikTok.
08:14I don't even have TikTok.
08:15We'll go 90s.
08:16What else?
08:16I don't see nothing but...
08:18Oh!
08:19I can feel it coming in the end.
08:23I never thought we'd get to this on Nightcap.
08:28Shout out to Jared McCain.
08:29We're having fun.
08:31But obviously, Jared was an incredible in that game.
08:34The Lakers, of course, are now down 0-2 in this series.
08:38They're going to go back to the drawing board.
08:40We've talked a lot about the incredible job J.J. Redick has done as a coach throughout these playoffs.
08:45What is going to be the number one, two, and three team?
08:48Or one, two, and three thing, he tells his team headed into game.
08:50Well, I think number one is you can't turn the ball over 20 times.
08:54Basically, in the first two games, you turn it over that much.
08:56And without Luka, they basically almost have to play a perfect game.
09:00They have to have Austin firing.
09:02They have LeBron playing well.
09:03Their shooters need to spread the floor on defense.
09:06Keep chunking it up.
09:07Keep trapping some.
09:08Keep mixing some zone.
09:09Keep trapping shade.
09:10It seems to work and rattle them over time.
09:13So, I like what they're doing.
09:15They just need to stay more consistent.
09:17Keep making their shots in the second half.
09:19And you just cannot shoot yourself in the foot and turn the ball over.
09:22So, I expect at home they'll be a little bit better taking care of the ball.
09:25And we'll see if they can steal one in game three.
09:28Well, let's listen in right now to J.J. Redick at the podium.
09:31And he's actually talking about the officiating from tonight's game.
09:34Oh, wow.
09:35Uh-oh.
09:37J.J., you got a technical in the first half.
09:40Multiple players had really long, extended conversations with refs.
09:43What was sort of at the core of those frustrations tonight?
09:48Yeah, I mean, I sarcastically said the other day they were the most disruptive team without fouling.
09:52I mean, they have a few guys that foul on every possession.
09:55And all the good defenses do.
09:59You know, SGA gets like a, I don't even know, a touch foul, I guess, on the drive.
10:04There was a stretch where four straight possessions.
10:06Our guys got absolutely clobbered trying to make an entry pass to Jackson.
10:09And Jalen Williams is grabbing his jersey with both arms.
10:16They're hard enough to play.
10:17They're hard enough to play.
10:18You've got to be able to just call it if they foul.
10:21And they do foul.
10:23Along those lines, I mean, LeBron has, I think, taken five free throws here in two games.
10:28I mean, have you seen him be, like, attacking and downhill?
10:33And are you surprised he hasn't been able to get to the line more?
10:35Well, he gets clobbered on that one, you know, with Jalen Williams coming over trying to block the shot
10:40when he spun baseline on Dorton.
10:41That was in that stretch as well.
10:43LeBron has the worst whistle of any star player I've ever seen.
10:45I mean, I've been with him two years now.
10:48You know, there's, again, the smaller guys, because they can be theatric,
10:53they typically draw more fouls.
10:55And the bigger players that are, you know, built like LeBron, it's hard for them.
11:00But he gets clobbered, and he got clobbered again tonight a bunch.
11:03And that's not, like, a new thing.
11:05That's not specific to this crew or, you know, this series.
11:11He gets fouled a lot that doesn't happen.
11:13I mean, a guy gets hit on the head more than any player I've seen on drives,
11:16and it rarely gets called.
11:19Do you think composure was?
11:21I mean, thought out?
11:22A lot of clobbering.
11:24Multiple missed clobbers.
11:27Most clobbers in one press conference.
11:29I mean, thought out response there from JJ.
11:32What do we feel?
11:33Some of that being fair?
11:34He's doing his job.
11:35I mean, fair or not fair, you know, they're overmatched.
11:37I think he's got to do whatever he can to try to get the terms of the game
11:42to favor his team coming back home to crypto.
11:45So I think that's just a part of coaching.
11:46That's a part of the OKC has really developed this way of playing,
11:50where they beat you up.
11:52They pick you up full court.
11:53The league has gone in a direction where you can be almost successively physical
11:57out beyond the three-point line.
11:58And I think that this is one of the things that makes it very difficult
12:01to play against this team that's already super talented.
12:04Yeah.
12:04It's actually, the Lakers are usually the team that always win the free throw battle.
12:08So this is a little new to him.
12:13They're getting clobbered a lot.
12:14But, yeah, it's just something, you know, you need to work the ref.
12:18You need to work already, position yourself for the next game.
12:21And that's just part of the playoff.
12:22Yeah, I feel like most people would be a little bit surprised at how well that works,
12:26you know, when you outwardly.
12:28Just put a little.
12:28Now this is crazy.
12:29Put it out there.
12:30Yeah, it was just a little half.
12:31A little meeting with the ref.
12:33A little TED Talk.
12:33This is crazy.
12:34I've never seen this before.
12:35Me neither.
12:36A meeting with the refs?
12:37We needed the best lip reader on this ASAP.
12:40I need to know what was said.
12:42What do you think they were saying?
12:43Well executed.
12:44We're getting clobbered.
12:44We're getting clobbered out there.
12:46We're getting clobbered.
12:47He's clobbered.
12:48I'm clobbered.
12:48Listen, I've been in a locker room with Bron.
12:51He does get a different whistle.
12:53Sometimes the referee, they ref the person instead of the game.
12:56And if you're reffing the game, then LeBron definitely should have gotten more than, what, five free throws in two
13:01games?
13:02That's crazy.
13:02I don't understand that.
13:04So, yes, I do agree with J.J.
13:06He is doing his job.
13:07But to a certain extent, to say LeBron James only has five free throws in two games, I think you're
13:12probably reffing the player and not the game at some point.
13:15Because, yes, he is being physical.
13:16He is attacking.
13:17He is getting downhill.
13:18He is working in the post.
13:19I mean, he's doing all the things that he needs to do to put the team in a position to
13:22be successful.
13:23So, yes, I do agree.
13:24He should have more free throws.
13:25And he does get a different whistle at 6'8", 6'9", 250, 260.
13:29Once he gets in there, it's like a bull in a china shop and body starts moving.
13:33But, yes, he does get fouled.
13:34Now, that is something that we hear throughout the regular season.
13:37But also during the playoffs, you hear J.J. Reddick say there that LeBron has the worst whistle of any
13:42star player that he's ever seen.
13:44But when it comes to star players and getting the calls, how do you experience that in a game?
13:50Just contextualize what that is like up there.
13:52Not getting the foul call?
13:53Yeah.
13:53I mean, I do completely agree.
13:56I think bigger, stronger guys just aren't getting the same ones.
13:58I remember my rookie year having a meeting with –
14:02Oh, so you did that?
14:04What's that?
14:05You got a huddle?
14:07After the game.
14:09I'm all in.
14:10Bring it in.
14:10Bring it in.
14:11There's a lot of clobbering going on.
14:13I remember having a meeting just because I was sort of frustrated.
14:16I felt like I was getting fouled a lot and not going on the free throw line a ton.
14:19And I remember meeting with Kiki Vandeway at the time.
14:22And he was like, look, I mean, some of these, like, you can go through those.
14:25You can go through that contact.
14:26And I was like, but that's – it's contact, you know?
14:29So it's hard.
14:29It's hard for some of these refs.
14:31And sometimes when you don't – the contact seems like it's incremental.
14:36I don't think refs are sort of willing to call it.
14:39But, you know, some games are worse than others.
14:41This game, I thought – there were some that felt like –
14:44Did you get any calls after that?
14:46No, I got less.
14:47No.
14:48You got less.
14:48It was one of my most respectful interactions with the league office.
14:55But, yeah, no, it didn't help much.
14:57It never does, actually.
14:59It never does when you talk to the league office.
15:00It doesn't help.
15:01Wait, but before we go to break, though, I'm just curious.
15:02Any other ref meetings if you want to share?
15:05Dirk?
15:06I mean, not really meetings.
15:09You sent some tape in, didn't you?
15:10Yeah, I mean, we always did.
15:11He said some bad words.
15:12Yeah, I mean, I had some conversations on the way out the arena
15:15when I was getting kicked out.
15:16So, I don't know if you call that –
15:18Not really conversation.
15:19Yeah, it's not a meeting.
15:20I take my jersey off, throw it in the crowd,
15:22and just say whatever I want to say on the way out.
15:24Yeah, Dirk was like, Mark Cuban was doing that for us.
15:27Well, he was aggressive.
15:29Got a few fines over his career, for sure.
15:32All right, we have much more still ahead tonight.
15:36Coming up, we're going to revisit the Pistons' win over the Cavs
15:39and take a 2-0 lead tonight in Detroit.
15:41NBA Nightcap continues after this.
15:48NBA Nightcap is presented by Patron.

16:12First quarter, Donovan Mitchell shifts in.
16:15Oh, hey, hey, hey.
16:17That hip flex, he got tight.
16:19My soul ass.
16:19He's okay.
16:21Oh, hey.
16:22Ah.
16:23Ah.
16:24Ah.
16:24Ah.
16:25Ah.
16:26Did he pinch him?
16:29All right.
16:30Pinchabrius was okay.
16:31That was wild.
16:31Now, Cade Cunningham drives down the baseline,
16:34takes it to the rim for the flush.
16:35It's okay, too.
16:35Too easy.
16:36In and out.
16:37Later in the third, Donovan Mitchell puts up a three.
16:41Bank.
16:42Thanks, John.
16:43Banks it in.
16:44Cavs within four.
16:45In the fourth, Jalen Tyson to Evan Mobley.
16:50Right here, the Cavs get their first lead since the first quarter.
16:55Later in the fourth, we go.
16:58The Pistons back in front.
17:00Now up by five.
17:01Tobias Harris, what a game from him.
17:04He's been balling.
17:05Last series, this series.
17:07Thank God for Tobias.
17:09Under five to go.
17:11Cade just steps back.
17:16Good defense, better offense.
17:18And the Pistons get another one.
17:20Win 107 to 97 and take a 2-0 series lead.
17:25And here is J.B. Bickerstaff after the win.
17:29Great job, but we just did what we were supposed to do.
17:32Right?
17:33So now we pack our bags and we know what we do.
17:36Travels.
17:36One game at a time.
17:37All right, let's go bring it in.
17:38We do what we're supposed to do.
17:40Stay poised.
17:41Come on, man.
17:41Game three, man.
17:42Stay home.
17:46We can't have our, you know, our, you know, Hall of Famer taking two shots in the second half.
17:52I'll take that one.
17:54What are you seeing in clutch moments that just isn't what it was for you guys in the regular season?
18:03Playoff basketball is a different type of basketball.
18:05There's so many guys that think dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble is a game, right?
18:10And Tobias knows he's going to get you in the post.
18:12You know, he might back you down.
18:14He might face you up, but he's going to get to the same spot and raise up and knock it
18:17down.
18:20Well, they asked the Cavs, obviously, about the clutch nature of these games.
18:25The Pistons got their 31st clutch win of the season.
18:28That's the most in the NBA.
18:30Where and why do you think the Pistons are able to thrive there in the clutch in the way the
18:35Cavs just have not been able to do?
18:37Well, first of all, I don't know if the Cleveland Cavaliers understand you're dealing with a team that probably don't
18:41like you.
18:42You're dealing with a coach who you fired.
18:44So when you fire a coach and he goes to coach another team, that other team that you're playing against
18:49probably takes that matchup personal.
18:51So if you're not taking that matchup personal and you're in that Cleveland Cavaliers locker room, then you've already lost
18:55this series because they're taking it personal in Detroit.
18:58So before you even get to the clutch, you're getting dominated for the other 48 minutes of the game before,
19:02excuse me, 46, 47.
19:04Then you get to the clutch.
19:04Yes, you made some plays in the third quarter.
19:06I would like to see you play faster.
19:08I love the matchup.
19:09Excuse me.
19:09I love the lineup when you bring Schroeder in.
19:11You go a little small.
19:12You have Schroeder.
19:13You have Donovan.
19:14You have Max.
19:14You have Tyson.
19:15And you pick one of those bigs.
19:16That's a faster pace.
19:18You get the ball across half court around 20, 21.
19:20It's like moving cars.
19:21It's tougher to guard.
19:22Slow methodical does not work against the Detroit Pistons.
19:25So that is not going to work.
19:27And once again, the physicality.
19:29You know what I'm saying?
19:29That is always going to be one thing that you have to figure out as a team.
19:33You know, Jalen Duren has not gotten the ball in the post and done very much offensively,
19:37but he has kicked their ass on the glass.
19:39Every time, gang rebound.
19:41If Allen's going to box him out, then everybody needs to come back and grab the ball
19:45because Allen cannot box him out and go grab the rebound by himself every single time.
19:49This is a physical matchup.
19:50This is a physical team.
19:51This is where you lack in physicality.
19:53You have to step up in those areas.
19:54Those are the things that I look at before you even talk about the clutch.
19:57And, Dirk, we've talked a lot about just those bigs.
20:00Evan Mobley, Jared Allen, when you're talking about the intensity, physicality, a lot of
20:05it begins with them.
20:06Yeah, I thought Allen was good tonight.
20:08They finally, you know, went down, sealed a hair some, had some good finishes around the
20:14rim.
20:14But Mobley, just not aggressive enough to really make a difference tonight.
20:19And I thought in clutch time, yeah, again, they were right there.
20:22They were in the position you want to be as a road team.
20:25Who's going to finish the game for you?
20:28Harden didn't have a great game at all.
20:30Mitchell was good tonight.
20:31But who else is going to step up and make big shots?
20:34They were 0 for 11 on threes in the fourth quarter again.
20:38So you got to think they're coming home.
20:40The role player is going to play better, make some more shots.
20:43Their star has got to play better.
20:45Mobley got to impose some as well, get in the pocket, pick and pop.
20:48If not, move the ball to the second side, have some more action on the other side.
20:52So you got to think they're going to play better at home, speed the game up some, get
20:56some more better threes and knock them down at home.
20:59Got to give some real love, though, to Tobias Harris.
21:02We talked about it a little bit over that highlight, but he has been huge, Steve.
21:06He's played great.
21:07I mean, anytime they needed a possession when Cade wasn't out there or he couldn't get the
21:11ball to Cade, they threw it to him in the post.
21:13He was aggressive.
21:14He's made threes this series.
21:15He's also just taking that responsibility in the mid-range and in the post here and backing
21:21guys down.
21:21They're trying to force some baseline and flood, and he's able to get it off before
21:24they get there.
21:26He's just been really kind of a dynamic scorer for them.
21:28He's attacking closeouts, getting in the post.
21:31It's just exactly what they need.
21:33You know, they're a team that you think tonight, not so much, but usually they struggle shooting
21:36the ball.
21:37Where are they getting enough points from?
21:38You know, they hang their hat on their defense.
21:40But he's really filled that gap, and it's been great to see him play and contribute the
21:43way he has.
21:44Yeah, his seventh straight game with 20-plus points, that's the longest streak of his
21:47playoff career.
21:48Not bad.
21:49Not bad?
21:49Not at all.
21:50One more, can you ask one?
21:52And that's that.
21:52All right, coming up next, we're going to look ahead to Game 3 of the Knicks and Sixers
21:58with Kyle Lowry.
22:00The Sixers point guard joins us live on NBA Nightcap, presented by Patron.
22:05That's right after this.
22:12In New York, Jalen Brunson poured in 27 first-half points.
22:15He finished with a game-high 35.
22:18OG Ananobi, he added 18 of his own.
22:20The Knicks with a 39-point win in Game 1.
22:23Game 2 saw OG put up 24.
22:26McKellie Oubre and the Sixers would keep it close.
22:29Brunson and New York, though, closed the game on a 12-3 run.
22:32And the Knicks with their fifth straight win in these playoffs and a 2-0 series lead.
22:38Now, the Knicks got two wins on their home floor.
22:40Now, the Sixers will get their chance to do the same.
22:43The series heads to Philly for Game 3 Friday night right here on Prime.
22:48And right now, we welcome in Sixers point guard, six-time all-star, 20-year NBA vet,
22:57and 2019 NBA champ Kyle Lowry, who's very excited to join us.
23:01How are you feeling?
23:02Very excited.
23:03I feel great.
23:03It's a good morning so far for me.
23:05But, you know, you guys, it's a good evening for you guys.
23:07But, you know, I'm excited to be here.
23:09You know, it's part of this crew, part of the team.
23:10But, yeah, I'm happy to be here tonight, the day, whatever it is.
23:14He's like, I am awake and I am ready to chat.
23:17All right, what have you learned through two games, Kyle?
23:21Honestly, that team over there, they're playing extremely hard.
23:24They know what they want to do every single night.
23:26Cat is playing at a really high level.
23:28You know, Jalen Brunson's always going to give you what he's giving you.
23:30But Cat's playing at a level right now, and I'm keeping him up high
23:34and putting him in a position where he can drive, he can shoot.
23:37Then OG.
23:38OG is that guy that, you know, everyone talks about,
23:41but he's been super effective.
23:43But for us, I think, you know, it's a long series, right?
23:46You know, they did what they were supposed to do at home.
23:49But for us, we made some adjustments.
23:51We felt really good about what we did in game two.
23:54Game three is going to be different, of course.
23:56You know, we're going to be home.
23:57You know, we've got to protect our house.
23:58You know, Tyrese will be ready to go.
24:00Paul will be ready to go.
24:02I think, you know, we'll make a few more adjustments
24:04and then, you know, be out there and do our job.
24:07Kyle, you know, you guys, fortunately and unfortunately,
24:11have played with some interesting lineups this season.
24:14Multiple guys have missed a lot of time.
24:17But, you know, hopefully that has helped you sort of in this playoff run
24:20of not having Joel first, then getting him back,
24:22and then having him for game one and not game two.
24:25You know, what do you look for, whether Joel plays or not,
24:29for you guys just to sort of steady this ship
24:30with a lineup that's sort of always changing?
24:33I think we've done a, you've said it, that we've done a great job
24:36of having some different lineups.
24:39You know, we've had the ability to play slower with Joel,
24:42play faster without Joel.
24:44So everyone knows, you know, if Joel plays, the game is different.
24:47It's a lot easier.
24:48Without Joel, we have to play faster.
24:50We got to get more pace into the game, shoot more threes.
24:53But, I mean, you know, give Joel credit.
24:56What he's done this postseason, you know, with the appendicitis,
24:58coming back, not really having the opportunity to ramp up,
25:01come out there, play, you know, struggle to game one game,
25:04he's back, and then play down in the next three games.
25:08Give him credit.
25:08You know, he's working extremely hard.
25:10But our team, we've been resilient all year.
25:12We've figured it out.
25:13You know, and Tyrese Maxey's been all-star.
25:15Paul George, after they're coming back, he's been lighting it up.
25:18And Vijay, he's still a rookie, but he's not playing like a rookie,
25:21which is impressive to me.
25:23Kyle, have you been watching the other series in the East,
25:26the Detroit, and what do you guys think, what do you see in there?
25:30I think Detroit found their rhythm.
25:33You know, I think Detroit was the one seed all year for a reason.
25:36I think they found their defensive rhythm.
25:37I think Cade, you know, coming back from the collapse long,
25:40they actually, you know, got him back.
25:42It took him a minute to get that rhythm.
25:43But, you know, Orlando took him to seven.
25:45But I think they found their identity again, right?
25:47Cade is getting to the paint, getting to his spots.
25:50You know, J.D.'s not, you know, playing as dominant as he was before
25:53during the regular season, but he's starting to get more comfortable.
25:55But Detroit is really good.
25:57They're a well-balanced team.
25:59They know what they're going to do.
26:00They know how they're going to play.
26:01And, you know, it's just been fun to watch for Detroit.
26:06Kyle, you won a championship with Coach in Toronto.
26:09I'm wondering how your relationships evolved,
26:11how he's leaned on you with this young group.
26:13You're a big mentor to these guys.
26:15So how has he used you to help this group get better every night?
26:18You know, I think he's really, like, you know, been communicated with me a lot
26:24just to make sure that, you know, hey, just to get a feel for what's going on,
26:27how the guys are seeing the game, what they're feeling, what they're thinking.
26:32You know, Steve, we go back a long time.
26:34Coach was my assistant coach before he became my head coach.
26:37So we have such a rapport that I know what he's thinking before he's even thinking it.
26:41And I think he's at a point where he's like, you know,
26:44we got to do whatever it takes to win the basketball games.
26:46You know, that's talking to everybody, putting up funky lineups,
26:50trying different things.
26:51So he's a tactician when it comes to this basketball thing.
26:55And I think he's just, for me, he's leaning on me, saying,
26:57hey, let these guys ready.
26:59You know, we got this coming.
26:59What do you think about this?
27:00What do you see with that?
27:01So for me, like, it's, okay, cool.
27:04Let me see.
27:04Let me think.
27:05Let me watch the game.
27:06And then I can give him some, you know, feedback.
27:09Lou, you got a favor to ask you.
27:12Oh, man.
27:12I got you.
27:13I got you.
27:14I need me to sign Vijay Edgecombe.
27:16Yeah.
27:17Oh, the Bohemian connection.
27:19I don't know if people know.
27:20They don't need a Bohemian.
27:21I go to Bahamas to get it if I have to.
27:23No, but I'll just go ahead.
27:24I can ask you.
27:25I got you.
27:26Listen, he is one of the most amazing,
27:30individually special people I've ever met.
27:32I mean, he's humble.
27:34He's, you know, he's funny.
27:36He works hard.
27:37He wants to win.
27:38And he's just down to earth.
27:39And he's just trying to figure it out.
27:41And, I mean, you would love him.
27:43You know, honestly, you know,
27:44I'm going to tell him to meet you down in the Bahama.
27:46Y'all can have a virgin Miami vice for him.
27:50He's still under 21.
27:51I'm a huge fan.
27:52Now I got it.
27:53Now down to business.
27:54I bet.
27:56You know, in a playoffs or any game,
27:58but definitely in the playoffs,
27:58you got to take away something.
27:59You got to take away something.
28:00As I watched those first games,
28:02Josh Hart has flirted with the triple doubles.
28:04Cat has got his numbers.
28:05OG got his numbers.
28:06Brunson got his numbers.
28:07And even Bridges got it going.
28:09I understand it.
28:10Once we're talking about,
28:11yeah, you've made adjustments,
28:12but the conversation about drawing a line in the sand,
28:15before we even make adjustments,
28:16we have to draw a line in the sand.
28:17What are we going to give up?
28:18What are we going to take away?
28:19Have you had that conversation?
28:21Because it doesn't always have to come from the coach.
28:22Have you had that conversation with certain guys about,
28:24okay, this is what we're going to take away.
28:26This is what we might have to give up.
28:27But we can't give everything to everybody.
28:29Yeah, you're a hundred percent right.
28:30I think the conversation we had a little bit yesterday
28:32with some of the guys,
28:34I think the guy that we just showed right there,
28:36Carl Anthony Towns,
28:37he's able to,
28:38he's kind of getting everything he wants.
28:40You know, Jalen Brunson is going to have the ball.
28:42JB's going to have the ball.
28:43OG's going to make his effect of the game,
28:45offensively and defensively.
28:46But Cat right now,
28:48I think we, you know,
28:48during the game,
28:49he's like, hey man,
28:49we got to do something different.
28:51He's standing there with the ball,
28:52holding it over his head,
28:53making dime passes,
28:54shooting the ball.
28:55We got to,
28:56and during the game,
28:56we got to take something away from Cat.
28:58I think that's the one thing
29:01that we have to focus on,
29:02trying to figure out
29:03how to make him a little bit more uncomfortable.
29:06Good point.
29:07Now, Kyle,
29:08New York and Philly
29:09is just a quick little Amtrak ride away.
29:12And playoff energy is already different.
29:15But what is the energy like
29:16when you are at this place
29:18where the home crowd can get infiltrated?
29:21Just how different does it feel,
29:22New York and Philly?
29:23Obviously, you'll know what it's like in Philly soon,
29:25but you've already felt the New York energy.
29:27I think Joel said to the fans,
29:30so I hope y'all don't sell y'all tickets.
29:32If y'all need money,
29:34he going to give it to y'all.
29:35So don't sell the tickets.
29:37So Joel,
29:38these people are going to be calling you.
29:39Go give me money.
29:41But it's just,
29:42it's just crazy
29:43because every time we have a home game,
29:45it feels like the New York crowd takes over.
29:47But I think our crowd
29:48and our city,
29:50we're going to show up tomorrow.
29:51I really,
29:52truly believe that.
29:53And,
29:53you know,
29:54we're going to make sure
29:54that they cheer for us
29:55a lot louder than,
29:56you know,
29:57than they can for the Knicks.
29:59Well,
29:59Kyle,
29:59thank you so much for joining us as always.
30:01And we are sending our love
30:02to your head coach,
30:03Nick Nurse,
30:04and his family.
30:05So please pass that along for us.
30:06And good luck
30:07the rest of this series.
30:09Good luck.
30:09Thank you,
30:09everyone.
30:10Y'all have a great night.
30:11I'll have a great morning.
30:13Yes.
30:14Good for us.
30:14Good morning, Kyle.
30:15Good night.
30:15Good morning.
30:16All right.

31:24Hi, I'm Olivia.

31:29I think you get the throwdown
31:30super tight now
31:31and just hold me so.
31:32A little bit out.
31:32Yeah, a little bit.
31:34That's good.
31:35Good.
31:36This is for you.
31:40Daddy.
31:40Hey.
31:42Oh, wow.
31:44Look at you.
31:48Hey, wait a minute.
31:49Sorry.
31:50Can you see?
31:52Okay.
31:54With the second pick,
