00:00Chase, where are we headed today?
00:02We are headed to the Ezi family camp.
00:05There was a really bad windstorm,
00:07and basically that tree right there crashed out on the camp,
00:10and we just haven't had a chance to get it fixed.
00:14You're going to step right on a nail.
00:19We're out of beam.
00:20We could be here till dark now.
00:22Where's your Uncle Chase?
00:23Chase, I need some answers.
00:26Oh, my.
00:27Oh, my gosh.
00:28Look at it.
00:40Beautiful spot.
00:42Where are we off to today?
00:44We are headed out on Maselonski Lake.
00:47A.K.A. Snow Pond.
00:49Hey, Gary.
00:50Hey, how you doing?
00:51Getting a ride from Captain Gary,
00:53and you folks can simple board anytime you want.
00:56All right.
00:56Awesome.
00:56He's going to give us a three-hour tour.
01:00Hopefully not.
01:04Maselonski Lake is nine and a half miles long,
01:073,510 acres.
01:10It's the deepest of all the Belgrade Lakes.
01:12The average depth is 33 feet.
01:15Wow.
01:15I got my first question, Gary.
01:17Yeah.
01:18Some people call it Maselonski,
01:20and some people call it Snow Pond.
01:22How come?
01:22The first settler amongst the Abenaki Indians was Philip Snow.
01:26Ah.
01:27I just thought some people didn't want to spell Maselonski.
01:31Chase, where are we headed today?
01:33We are headed to the Ezi family camp.
01:37The Ezzies?
01:38The Ezzies.
01:39Julie?
01:40Julie is one of them.
01:41I love her.
01:42I went to high school with her.
01:43We were on yearbook committee together.
01:45You're on the yearbook committee?
01:47Yeah, with Julie.
01:47We're learning all kinds of stuff on this boat, Gary.
01:49Chase.
01:50So what's going on with the camp?
01:52So you can see the camp right there.
01:54It's got some blue tarps on it.
01:56Over a year ago, a massive pine fell on the camp,
01:59damaged the roof,
02:01and they've been trying to figure out what to do.
02:04They've got a larger family,
02:06so I think they're finally ready to get us in here
02:09to help them out.
02:11There they are.
02:12Oh.
02:13Hi.
02:14Hey.
02:15Hello.
02:15Hello.
02:17Coming in hot.
02:18Hurt.
02:19Hurt.
02:21Oopsie.
02:22Thanks, Gary.
02:23Have a great day, buddy.
02:27We are at my family camp on Snow Pond.
02:29So good to see you.
02:30Good to see you.
02:32Hi, Jerry.
02:33Nice to meet you.
02:34I'm Ryan.
02:35How you doing?
02:35Chase.
02:37We have big cookouts,
02:39big croquet matches in the back,
02:40just spending time together.
02:42This is the camp.
02:43This is the camp,
02:44and we definitely saw the blue tarp
02:46coming in off the lake.
02:47Yes.
02:48Tell us a little bit about what happened.
02:50There was a really bad windstorm
02:51about a year and a half ago now,
02:53and basically that tree right there,
02:55you can see the stump of it,
02:56just crashed down on the camp,
02:58and we just haven't had a chance
03:00to get it fixed.
03:02What are you looking at on the outside?
03:05Obviously, repair any storm damage.
03:07We were hoping for maybe a fire pit.
03:10Every camp needs a good fire pit.
03:11Yeah.
03:13And stick with vinyl siding?
03:14Yes.
03:15Yeah.
03:16See you, Gary.
03:17He's excited to get rid of us.
03:20But do you want to come inside?
03:21Yes.
03:21Let's go in.
03:27Okay.
03:28All right.
03:28Here we are.
03:29Doesn't look so bad right now.
03:31No.
03:31Yeah.
03:32Tell us a little history about the camp.
03:33So this camp has actually been in our family
03:36for generations.
03:37One of our family members built the original structure
03:39of the camp after World War II,
03:41and then I think it was like in the 60s,
03:44they added that addition on the backside.
03:46So basically, this was, you know,
03:49kind of the heart of the camp.
03:50So we had like our living area here,
03:52and then obviously the table.
03:54So it's three bedroom?
03:55One, two, three?
03:56Yeah.
03:57So technically, it's three bedroom, two baths,
03:59and the big, big bedroom over there,
04:00we're actually thinking maybe we could change that
04:02into like a living room space.
04:04There's a big window in there
04:06that we would love to see a slider instead of the window.
04:09And since we have to redo the roof anyway,
04:11I would love to see a new second floor
04:14and then maybe throw one room upstairs.
04:16You're just looking to move the bedroom space up.
04:19Right.
04:20So it's going to stay three bedroom.
04:23Yes.
04:23And maybe do a half bath if that's possible.
04:26Are we doing anything with the existing bathroom?
04:29Just a little refresh.
04:31You'll see like the tiles on the floor
04:33are like literally coming up.
04:34So the kitchen space,
04:35there is not a whole lot of counter space in this kitchen.
04:38So it'd be awesome if there was any way
04:40to get like a little more counter space in here.
04:43We do a ton of meals at camp.
04:45Whenever it's raining outside and we have to eat inside,
04:47it's always a problem.
04:49Like, okay, where's everyone going to sit?
04:51And everyone's like all over the place.
04:52The TV trays.
04:53So like a better seating area for food.
04:56There is a bathroom in that corner there,
04:59a carpeted bathroom.
05:00Ew.
05:01If you ever wanted a carpeted bathroom, we got it,
05:03but we don't think we need it anymore.
05:05So maybe getting rid of that huge rectangle,
05:07replacing it with like a mudroom or a closet.
05:09Yeah.
05:10And then opening up some of that space.
05:11So you're looking to kind of update the kitchen in here.
05:15Yes.
05:15And just make this more of a seating, dining type of area.
05:19Yes.
05:20And that over there, living space.
05:22Yes.
05:22All right, we're just going to check it out
05:24and we'll meet you outside.
05:25Okay, perfect.
05:26See you in a minute.
05:27Can we go check out the damage dome?
05:29Yeah.
05:30All right.
05:30Was it just a little hole?
05:33It's not little, Ash.
05:35You want to see up there?
05:37No.
05:38No.
05:39That's a big punctual wound.
05:40I didn't ask, but I'm just assuming all carpet's going.
05:44Oh, my God.
05:45We've never left.
05:46We're not going to start leaving carpets now, are we?
05:49Out with the carpet.
05:50Out with the carpet.
05:51All right, let's go.
05:52We'll meet back up with them.
05:55There they are.
05:56Yeah.
05:57We saw all we needed to see.
05:59Oh, boy.
06:00Is there anything else we need to know about the camp?
06:03Just want to make sure we keep that carpet in the big bedroom.
06:06The green carpet's really special for the family.
06:09Uh-oh.
06:10You're eavesdropping.
06:11They had their ears up to the window or something.
06:14No problem.
06:14No problem.
06:15No problem.
06:17So you're looking to obviously repair any storm damage, get a second floor to move the bedroom
06:25upstairs with a possible second bathroom, get rid of the other second bathroom, and then
06:33on the exterior slider door out to the water and a fire pit on the front side of the camp.
06:40How long do we have to get the renovations complete?
06:44We could do 10 weeks so we could still enjoy some of the summer.
06:46Yeah.
06:46I think we'll definitely try our best to hit that.
06:49So how much do you have to put into the renovations?
06:51$65,000.
06:52Great.
06:53We just need a set of keys.
06:55All right.
06:55Or a key.
06:57Right there.
06:58Cool.
06:59All right.
07:00Yeah.
07:00All right, guys.
07:00Well, we look forward to seeing you in 10 weeks.
07:03Yes.
07:03All right.
07:04Inside, we're going to turn the carpeted bathroom into a smaller closet, and we'll shift the kitchen
07:08onto that wall to give it more space.
07:10We'll widen the entrance to the addition and turn the existing bedroom into new living space.
07:15We'll tie it all together with new floors and add a second floor with a bedroom and half
07:19bath.
07:20On the outside, we'll add a sliding door with stairs, new windows, and vinyl siding where
07:25needed.
07:26We'll also add a fire pit out front.
07:28We have $65,000 and a flexible 10 weeks.
07:32Train!
07:34He saw us now.
07:36Let's count.
07:37Yeah, this interview's done.
07:3811, 12, 13.
07:40Call the guys.
07:41He's going to call the guys.
07:42You can count the trains.
07:43We're out of here.
07:4417.
07:55Summer's here.
07:57I almost feel like this is a dentist's chair.
08:00I'm going to go get some of my gel.
08:03Oh, beautiful day.
08:05Yeah, it's gorgeous though, huh?
08:06Lawn is growing fast.
08:08I think we should mow the lawn, don't you think?
08:10I mean, it's the right thing to do.
08:13Well, I see a tarp on the roof.
08:15That means it definitely probably needs a roof.
08:17Yeah.
08:18You brought some muscle.
08:19You're just sunbathing in your flannel.
08:22Get you guys in there.
08:24What are we doing today?
08:25Let's go inside and check it out.
08:28Let's do it.
08:29So the goal today is really just kind of pull everything apart on the inside.
08:34Why am I walking around with a vacuum?
08:36We're just getting into the demo, see what's going on, make a plan.
08:39We need to know what's going on under the carpets.
08:42Trigger, what do you think?
08:43You're going to behave yourself with a lawnmower?
08:45We want to kind of leave it looking good, so Ryan and Dixie mowed the lawn.
08:53Oh, tell me that's not press board.
08:57Holy smokes.
09:06Oh, gross.
09:09How nasty is it?
09:11I bet it's pretty nasty just where it was leaking.
09:15In the addition part, it's press board, which once that stuff gets wet, it just expands.
09:20So hopefully it hasn't gotten too wet.
09:22We'll let you pick these cams.
09:26We need to know what's going on under the carpets.
09:28Make a plan.
09:29It's almost AstroTurf quality.
09:39Good?
09:41Yeah.
09:43Didn't look that bad.
09:44It looks fairly solid.
09:45So again, if we can go right over that, all the better.
09:48We need to know what's going on in that roof system where the tree hit it.
09:59If you want, do a big square here.
10:01I'll make a square, then I'll clean up the outside.
10:03And I'll do a square here.
10:04Okay.
10:04I chose to mow the lawns because it's a beautiful day out.
10:07It's hot and sticky.
10:09And I didn't want to be stuck in the camp, pulling insulation and sheetrock off the walls.
10:13Oh!
10:14Whoa!
10:15Whoa!
10:18Hard hat.
10:19I'd rather get attacked by bugs, mosquitoes, or whatever.
10:23You're going front to back.
10:29Trigger!
10:30No!
10:32I just love mowing the lawn.
10:34It's the most mindless thing.
10:35I never thought I'd say that, but it's just mindless, it was perfect.
10:38Who knows what that says about us, but we did a great job.
10:44It's a nice front yard.
10:48One pull.
10:51Four trees.
10:52They don't even make it this long.
10:55Yeah, so here's one of the culprits here that did all that damage there.
11:00We've got a few more logs up in there, branches that came down off the tree.
11:04It snapped.
11:04Oh, broke two of those.
11:06Three, four.
11:06Yeah, snapped that.
11:08You can see where, you know, branches poked through.
11:10A lot of the rafters were blown off.
11:13So even if we were to go in and just replace it, I think we would have ended up probably
11:17having
11:17to strip at least half of it.
11:19So to tear the whole thing off and start fresh isn't, you know, it's not that much additional
11:24work.
11:26Huh, I picked the right job today.
11:28Huh.
11:28I hate that stuff.
11:30I hate insulation.
11:33What's Dixie doing, mowing the neighbor's lawn?
11:36He's like, if I can get away with staying outside and mowing lawn, I don't have to do any demo
11:41inside.
11:43Smart.
11:45Smart.
11:47Yo.
11:48Morning.
11:49Hey, Brad.
11:51Morning.
11:51Hi, Jedi.
11:52I'm not into this carpet.
11:55You can go cut a bunch of squares.
11:57Perfect.
12:03Yep, I'm over this job already.
12:05It's not even cutting it.
12:07Well, that was one cut.
12:08It's not even going through, like, get it.
12:12This is for the birds.
12:13This is why you should never put carpet in cabins.
12:16Carpets are so gross!
12:20Oh!
12:24Nice, we're on Z.
12:26Why are we doing this on the hottest day of the year?
12:27You guys are the bosses.
12:29We can leave.
12:30Integrity, Ashley.
12:31Integrity.
12:31Not when it's 90 degrees out.
12:35Fred got mad.
12:36There you go, Ashley.
12:39Ashley, can you grab those mouse traps?
12:40No, I'll grab this.
12:52And another one bites at us.
12:56Coming out.
12:57That bathroom is a bad use of real estate.
13:00So that had to go...
13:03Yo, yo, yo, stop.
13:05Stop.
13:06Hold on.
13:06Let me get that one.
13:06Just stop.
13:07You're going to step right on a nail.
13:08Just stop.
13:09I got steel toes.
13:11You don't have steel feet.
13:19I gotta go home, I need tetanus shot.
13:29My wife totally impaled me with a nail today after she was calling me out for safety.
13:34Literally instant.
13:35Don't worry about the puncture wound.
13:36Okay, I was trying to save him from stepping on it, and yes, you're right.
13:39I did hit him with a nail in the back.
13:42Oh!
13:43I gotta go home, I need tetanus shot.
13:45Did you try to kill your husband?
13:47I didn't try to kill my husband intentionally.
13:50Is there a hole in my brand new t-shirt?
13:52I would never say on camera that I would try to kill him, because then you could bring that back
13:55up.
13:55All it did was puncture a little wound in his back.
13:58Right there.
13:59Ah!
14:00Sorry about that.
14:01Kinda made me a little bit nervous, you know?
14:04Like, I can't say we always get along.
14:06He's fine, guys.
14:07It wouldn't happen if you let me be me, right?
14:08We were trying to save him before I tried to kill him.
14:12All right, let me get you a band-aid.
14:15Have you found what you're looking for?
14:17Uh, yeah, you're right there.
14:18Oh!
14:21Have you found what you're looking for?
14:22Oh, we have more paneling.
14:24The goal at the end of the day is just to figure out what's behind here.
14:26Getting ready, this is gonna open this place right up.
14:28You guys, there's another layer of sheathing boards in here.
14:33We are in the two-shirts demo days, you know?
14:36But this one's drying out okay.
14:38And get out!
14:39Whoo!
14:41And look, look, another layer.
14:43How many layers is that?
14:44Five?
14:44Four.
14:46If this was a cake, it'd be really good.
14:49We'd have, like, seven layers when we get done.
14:52This is ridiculous, huh?
14:54This will be the longest wall we've ever demoed.
14:59We need to know what's going on in the wall system
15:01in between where the camp and the addition
15:03are attached to each other and in that bathroom.
15:07Shouldn't be a problem expanding the opening.
15:09All in all, the demo and addition was, I'd say,
15:13far easier than the demo of that original bathroom wall.
15:17Come on, Brad!
15:20Like you mean it.
15:25All right, that wall's done.
15:28You guys, why didn't you guys tell me this earlier?
15:34Out of order.
15:35Please do not use.
15:38That's it, right?
15:40Yeah.
15:40That's it.
15:41Funny thing is, from outside,
15:42we wouldn't even know we did anything today.
15:43That's right.
15:44Except mow the lawn.
15:45We get dug over here,
15:46move the kitchen over there.
15:48Open this up.
15:49You can go about three more feet that way.
15:52That would look nice.
15:53Stairway that way.
15:55Rip the roof off.
15:56Four by six.
15:57Floor system.
15:58And a fire pit.
16:00They need more seating for eating and just hanging out.
16:03So we need some seating for the fire pit.
16:06Well, I got an idea for some stools.
16:08Can you get some waterproof fabric?
16:10To do what with?
16:11That's all you need to worry about.
16:13You're going to have to give us a little more detail.
16:15Just make sure you show up with the fabric.
16:17Good job today, guys.
16:18Nice work.
16:18Great job.
16:26We need to strip back the ceilings in the added-on part.
16:31We need to strip off the entire roof and start from there up.
16:35So yeah, I guess this is our carrying beam.
16:37And we're using four by six hemlock beams.
16:40And I swear I ordered a few more four by sixes.
16:44So we are at the EZCamp today.
16:47And today our goal is to get the second floor on.
16:50We're going to start from this way, that way.
16:54There's going to be beam flush to this edge.
16:56And then it's going to be 18 inches on Senna.
16:59Yesterday, they ripped the old roof off, got it all prepped and ready,
17:02so that today it was a matter of just setting our beams and decking it over.
17:12Perfect.
17:15Hi, hi, hi, hi.
17:17Today we are on Snow Pond.
17:19It's definitely not snowing today.
17:20Chase!
17:21So it's going to be 89 today.
17:23Pretty much every time we're here, it is a hot, hot, hot day.
17:26Chasey Chase.
17:29I can feel the sun baking my skin.
17:32Hello, Chase.
17:33Oh, there he is.
17:34Hi, good morning.
17:35Good morning.
17:35You look like you're well staffed.
17:37We're just going to go.
17:38We've got a floor to get in.
17:39Okay.
17:40If you want to start, I guess, getting the shiplap ready,
17:44we should be pretty close to flying.
17:46It would have been a good day to be with Captain Gary,
17:47but instead we are framing up a second floor.
17:49Oh, that's nice stuff.
17:52Should we put some saw horses out and call them?
17:54We had a huge pile of materials, so we decided to cull it.
17:57Sixties going on right here?
17:58Yep.
18:00Culling is...
18:01Sorting is separated by quality and size, length.
18:05Once again, she's right.
18:06Perfect.
18:06So by culling it, it's going to save us so much time later.
18:10Because they're going to say, I need something 144 inches.
18:12We're like, oh, I know that's a 12-footer.
18:14Juliazie and I used to be on the yearbook committee together.
18:16I don't know if you'd know this about us.
18:18What were you guys voted for in the yearbook?
18:20Most likely to succeed, duh.
18:22I was voted most prepriest.
18:27What are you, Jedi?
18:28Most likely to be on television.
18:30That's awesome.
18:31Actually, most likely to be caught taking a nap.
18:34Come on, sugar. Let's roll on out of here.
18:37Justin is definitely the best dressed.
18:39He always tends to wear a nice button-up shirt.
18:43Definitely a well-dressed man.
18:44Sarah's most likely to beat me in an arm wrestling contest.
18:47Chase most likely to kick butt.
18:50What was he like in high school?
18:51Kind of nerdy, quiet.
18:53He had long hair?
18:54Yeah, he looked like the Dutch boy.
18:55Was he a hippie?
18:57Yes.
18:57Chase was a hippie?
18:59What happened to him?
19:00He was a different man back then.
19:01I bet Ashley was the coolest, don't you think?
19:03No.
19:04Oh, come on.
19:05Ashley had big hair.
19:06She wore red lipstick.
19:08All right, I've had enough of this talk.
19:09Ashley, we're trying to work here.
19:11I'm trying to work here.
19:12And you're most likely to never stop talking.
19:15Would that be his?
19:17So we're setting our four-by-six floor joists.
19:25And then we can start decking it over.
19:26And then get our roof lines figured out.
19:36Is that all we have left?
19:38We're out of beams.
19:39We need more.
19:40Come on.
19:47We need five more.
19:50You need more beans?
19:52Chase is going to do a lumber run.
19:54So we are at the EZ camp today.
19:56I'm running to the lumber yard.
19:58It's close by, so I'll get a few more four-by-sixes
20:01to finish off the floor.
20:03We could be here till dark now.
20:05Dixie, let's teach his kids some stuff.
20:07Non-carpentry.
20:08You know what one of these is?
20:10A hacky sack.
20:10There's really nothing to do.
20:12And we're talking yearbooks a lot lately.
20:14Do you guys do that, Fletch?
20:17Next thing you know, we're playing hacky sack.
20:19So a hippie in the group somewhere.
20:21Nice, Fletcher.
20:21I'm sorry, Jedi.
20:24You got a group of hacky sacks.
20:25Quick feet.
20:26Quick feet.
20:27I'm going to feel it tomorrow.
20:29Jedi used to be really good at that.
20:30I used to.
20:31I'm going to pull up some moves.
20:32They're coming back to me right now, baby.
20:35Hacking the old sack, are we?
20:36Oh, he's coming.
20:39Oh!
20:40I was letting it go.
20:41Let's get four and we go back to work.
20:43Okay.
20:45Oh, show him.
20:46Oh!
20:48We did four.
20:49Okay, back to work.
20:51All right, beams are here.
20:53Yeah, it's a good one.
20:55Fresh off the presses, huh?
20:58We've got our hemlock beams that we've needed
21:00to get that floor system done.
21:02We're going to get these cut, get them up there.
21:04We're going to get it decked over.
21:06Coming hot.
21:13So once we got the hemlock beams in place,
21:16it was just a matter of putting down the 12-inch shiplap.
21:23Finisher, 91 and a half.
21:25Three-quarter inch eastern white pine.
21:27We're going to do two layers so we can face nail right across it.
21:30And that way we don't have to worry about scuffing it up.
21:33All right.
21:34Once we're done, we'll go over it with a second layer.
21:37We went 18 inches on center just because we're using two layers
21:40instead of one thick layer.
21:43Smooth over lappa.
21:47Okay.
21:49So I'll build a small section of two-foot wall, and then we can mock up our knee walls and
21:55get an idea of what we want.
21:57And then we'll just take a small section of that four-by-six and just build a small section right
22:01there.
22:02Brace it.
22:04That's pretty good there.
22:05Pretty good there.
22:07And then that will give us our rough measurements.
22:10About eight and a half.
22:12We see your vision.
22:14Pass up one of those crafters.
22:17All right.
22:18We want to be in the center.
22:20Have a seat Chase Paduna one person play.
22:22A Midsummer's Day sweating.
22:27Okay.
22:27Next time, we need to bring chairs.
22:30Sweet.
22:31Does that look okay?
22:32I prefer Shakespeare.
22:34Stop acting like my sister.
22:45Did you have any more of them caught?
22:51So renovations are progressing nicely at the Eze Camp.
22:5471 and 83.
22:59Next steps are getting it all closed in and watertight.
23:06Roof is going on.
23:07We went with a black screw-down metal roof.
23:12Upstairs.
23:13Framing out the half bath.
23:15All the sheathings going down.
23:18And we'll widen the entrance to the addition to give it more space.
23:21Want a tablet, Isaac?
23:22Yeah.
23:31Out with the old and with the new.
23:36Next steps, get the staircase opening from the new living space cut out.
23:43And make it easier for going up and down.
23:59I thought I broke it.
24:01So here we are at the Eze job.
24:03Today it's going to be hot.
24:05I mean, super hot.
24:06What we'd like to do is try to get in all the windows.
24:10Oh, that's it right there.
24:13Prepping to put up some stairs.
24:14And the stairs that we're doing are going to be some spiral stairs.
24:17Bam, bam.
24:18Just like that.
24:19Cut that line, that line.
24:20I'm just getting ready to clear out a board here.
24:27Can you lift up on that?
24:28Yep.
24:30We've got to try to stand our stairs up and see how far we get.
24:35Okay, now I think we'll just kind of turn it.
24:37And we'll kind of lift up and it looks like we would have lad it.
24:39One, two, three.
24:41Okay, we're getting pinched on something here.
24:42Yeah.
24:43It's a tight squeeze.
24:45Hmm.
24:47Bam, bam, bam.
24:53That's going to twist a little bit.
24:55Yeah, the wood's sticking by.
24:57Yeah.
24:58Well, I can cut this real quick.
24:59That's what's hitting.
25:00See?
25:01Try that.
25:02Should be able to cut out this last piece of the puzzle.
25:04We should be able to stand up our stairs.
25:10Nice.
25:10Nice.
25:14Ready?
25:15Yeah.
25:15Bottom in.
25:16Yep.
25:20Now you're good.
25:22Now you got some good new ones.
25:26Great.
25:28That's pretty good right there.
25:30Nice work, boys.
25:43Yeah.
25:43Looks good.
25:45Looks good for my house.
25:47So things are getting real close at the Ezzy camp.
25:53Go for it.
25:55When we did demo, we ripped out that old bathroom and we needed a way to kind of figure out
26:01how to reconfigure it.
26:02We're going to have a closet right when you first walk in the door and then move the kitchen over
26:06to that side.
26:06I'm going to go round up the cabinets, countertops, and everything we need to put it together.
26:11On the outside, we'll add vinyl siding where it needed.
26:13Put in the new slider door and getting ready for stairs to make it easier for going up and down.
26:19Is that where you guys like it?
26:20Yep.
26:20I'm going to put one.
26:25Great job, guys.
26:28Perfect.
26:35Perfect.
26:36It's the camp is looking great.
26:37We're getting close.
26:38Kitchen has been moved to the other side.
26:41This area has been opened up to gain better access into the living area.
26:46New floor in the existing bathroom.
26:49Large windows, large slider door out onto the water.
26:52Francis brought in the fire pit, installed that.
26:55Second floor has been added and we put in the spiral staircase for easy access.
27:00This is the new bedroom, main bedroom area.
27:03A lot of windows going across the water side.
27:06And we were able to squeeze in a second bathroom.
27:13All lazy Susan.
27:15We've got kitchen cabinets to go in so we can get the countertop ordered.
27:20All right.
27:21We're right on the money, honey.
27:25Install the doors.
27:26Yeah, doors with Dixie.
27:27We've got Doug with us to finish up the plumbing in the upstairs bathroom.
27:31Nice.
27:32Just a lot of small stuff to wrap up.
27:39This is a nice fire pit, right?
27:42But there's no seats.
27:43Chase has been really wanting to make these stools.
27:45A while ago he mentioned that they weren't extra seating.
27:48He asked me to order some fabric, so I did this.
27:51But I wanted to know what he planned on doing with it.
27:54There are questions I need to know.
27:57Chase.
27:58What are you doing?
27:59Bringing up my mask.
28:00Want to talk about our special project?
28:02I don't think you need me to talk about it.
28:03He is running away from me.
28:05I have the fabric.
28:06It's cute.
28:07It's got little trees on it with little crows.
28:09Chase.
28:11He's running away from us, guys.
28:14Chase!
28:15I need some answers.
28:19Chase.
28:25Chase!
28:26Chase is being elusive.
28:28He's running away from me every time I try to find him.
28:30And I need some answers about my seating problem.
28:33Sometimes Chase is in go mode and Jess doesn't want to talk to anybody.
28:36Where did he go?
28:38Where's the elusive Chase?
28:40Trigger, have you seen Chase?
28:41He doesn't want to answer any of my questions.
28:44Hey, have you guys seen Chase?
28:46Kids?
28:47Yeah.
28:49I hear him.
28:50Hold on.
28:51Chase!
28:52Where's the elusive Chase?
28:54Chase!
28:55How hard is it to give your sister some answers?
28:57Oh, you're a little twerp.
28:58Oh, look, there he is.
28:59He's coming out.
29:00I found the elusive Chase moral!
29:02Can you explain these stools?
29:04So I have the fabric, right?
29:06Yeah.
29:06Bring the fabric.
29:07To the backboarder or to your host?
29:09Backboarding.
29:10Okay.
29:11Just give me a little bit of an idea of what we're doing.
29:13Is the stool going to be this way or this way?
29:18Is this going to be a fly by the seat of our pants sort of project?
29:22Well, there we have it.
29:23Chase, what you doing?
29:25Chase, what you doing?
29:26All I wanted was a simple answer.
29:27Chase, what you doing?
29:27Guess what?
29:28I didn't get it.
29:29So we'll see.
29:42Hello.
29:44Morning.
29:45I ordered the fabric for our stump stool.
29:48Let's see it.
29:49Here's some nice waterproof fabric for us.
29:52Okay, I put water on it and dribbled right off.
29:54Did you spill your coffee?
29:56We're making pillow toppers for wooden logs.
29:58We need to cut this log in half.
30:01The Aziz had mentioned that they wanted more seating.
30:04They needed more seating for eating and just hanging out.
30:07So we have a picnic table and then we need some benches for the fire pit.
30:13Great.
30:15Are we going to have to cut that into a circle?
30:17Yeah.
30:17The plan was just to take an old log, cut it into sections, put some padding.
30:23There you go.
30:24And he routed out the top.
30:30Nice.
30:31That'll work.
30:32That works good.
30:33Then we put the fabric on.
30:36So this stapler is an upholstery stapler.
30:41Okay.
30:43Oh, you're holding it down and I'm stapling?
30:44No, now we put the foam on and then we pull it over and then we just work our way
30:48around it.
30:49Okay.
30:50Let's go for it.
30:53Ready?
30:54Do one or two right there.
30:56Started just shoving and then stapling.
30:59You know, we shove a little bit more.
31:00Stuffing in there, stapled a little bit more until we made it all the way around.
31:07We're getting somewhere.
31:09That's, that's cushion.
31:11It's all shoved in there nice and tight so you can feel that log.
31:14It's nice and soft.
31:15We want to make band.
31:17We need two strips that we can spray with the adhesive and fold them over.
31:26All right.
31:28We made a nice thick border to cover up all of our staples.
31:36All right.
31:39Looks good.
31:40Now we just got to build another one.
31:55Today we are giving the Ezi family back their camp.
31:59Homeowners had a lot of furniture we were able to use and bring back into the place, which is always
32:04nice.
32:04They have a lot of antiques.
32:06That's their style.
32:08And it looks great.
32:09You remembered the stools.
32:10All right.
32:11Come and have a seat.
32:12We had 10 weeks and $65,000 to add the second floor, repair the storm damage and open up the
32:19area in between the old bedroom and the kitchen living area.
32:25That's what I'm talking about.
32:26All right.
32:27Place looks good.
32:29Man, perfect day.
32:31It's absolutely gorgeous.
32:33Well, I don't know about you guys, but I am just so excited to see the camp.
32:36They're coming in by belt. Let's go meet them.
32:38Okay.
32:40Look at it.
32:49Can't wait to go see it.
32:52Oh, my.
32:53Oh, my gosh.
32:54Look at it.
32:56I can't believe it.
32:58It looks amazing.
33:01It looks huge.
33:03Is it that one?
33:04Holy cow.
33:04I know.
33:05Wow.
33:06I thought, where's the camp?
33:07All those windows.
33:09That's going to be amazing.
33:10I can't even believe it.
33:12You can see the slider.
33:13Amazing.
33:14Steps coming off of that.
33:15Oh, wow.
33:16Oh, yes.
33:17Now I can see it.
33:18Hi.
33:19Hey, guys.
33:19Hello.
33:20Welcome back.
33:21It's incredible.
33:23Can't stop smiling.
33:25Oh, my gosh.
33:26I was blown away.
33:27I could not believe how big it looked, how different it looked.
33:30Wow.
33:31This is amazing.
33:32This is absolutely amazing.
33:34Amazing work.
33:35Definitely as good as we could possibly hope.
33:39Yeah, come on this way.
33:40Walk on over.
33:41Hey, is that a fire pit?
33:43Oh, I love it.
33:44We've been missing a fire pit for a long time.
33:48Those cute little stools.
33:49Chase and I made your cute little stools.
33:51Oh, you did?
33:51Oh, you did.
33:52I love it.
33:53They're so fun.
33:53I love it.
33:54So cute.
33:55Hey, guys.
33:56Well, so good to see you.
33:57You too.
33:58And I'm so glad my sister could come today.
34:00It was nice to see you.
34:02So good to see you.
34:02So, yeah, guys.
34:04What do you think?
34:05Oh, my gosh.
34:05It looks amazing.
34:07Yeah, it looks different in all the right ways.
34:08Yes.
34:09We stripped everything back to see what we were really working with and then came up with
34:13a game plan to tear off the roof and go up.
34:16Windows across the front.
34:18We kept with the white vinyl siding.
34:20Went with a nice screw down metal roof.
34:23Put in the new slider door, new window, and nice landing with a set of stairs there.
34:28I love it.
34:29It looks terrific.
34:30It looks great.
34:30It looks amazing.
34:31We just kind of opened it up inside for you.
34:33I love it.
34:34Speaking of inside, why don't we head inside?
34:36Perfect.
34:37Sounds good.
34:37Sounds good.
34:38All right.
34:39We'll follow you.
34:40No, no, no, no.
34:40After you.
34:40You guys have to go first.
34:41We go first?
34:44Amazing.
34:48Wow.
34:50Oh, my.
34:51This is amazing.
34:54I love it.
34:55I can't believe it.
34:56It's amazing.
34:57This is incredible.
34:58Yeah, this is unbelievable.
35:01Oh, my gosh.
35:02I could not believe it.
35:03Love the kitchen.
35:04I would have never thought to move the kitchen where it is.
35:08Oh, I love it.
35:10Everything is amazing.
35:12I would have never thought to put this perfect.
35:14I know.
35:15Oh, my goodness.
35:16I love it.
35:17I love it.
35:18Perfect.
35:19Oh, cool.
35:22Still wicked cozy.
35:23I love it.
35:25So this was the, oh, this is the closest closet.
35:28I love it.
35:29Yes.
35:29I love it.
35:30So wide open.
35:31I just love it.
35:33I don't even know what to do with myself.
35:35I'm so excited.
35:36Now I'm going to cry.
35:38Kitchen.
35:38Oh, no.
35:40Oh, my goodness.
35:42Hey, don't you make me cry?
35:44Gorgeous.
35:46Oh, my gosh.
35:47Oh, I love it.
35:48I love it.
35:48I love everything.
35:49Amazing.
35:50It's amazing.
35:50It's so beautiful.
35:51Got the old bathroom tore out.
35:54And to open up that area, we decided to move the kitchen over to here to give you more countertop
36:00space.
36:00And just, you know, by shifting living over there, it just gives you that much more room in here.
36:05Looks terrific.
36:06It looks so good.
36:07It's beautiful.
36:07I can't wait to use it.
36:09There's more.
36:10Oh, my goodness.
36:16So when you walk in, you can really see how far out this wall was.
36:20Wow.
36:21Compared to the rest of the building.
36:23Yeah.
36:23Yeah, it's so awesome.
36:25Oh, my goodness.
36:26This is amazing.
36:28Seeing it this way, it just makes sense.
36:30Like, yeah, that's how it should look.
36:31As opposed to the mint green carpet.
36:35Could have had this view the whole time.
36:36Amazing.
36:37Amazing.
36:39What a difference.
36:40You guys ripped the entire roof off, and we put up hemlock beams, decked it over,
36:45put a new slider door in here, new window where the closets were, and new pine floors throughout.
36:52It looks so good.
36:53We lost a bedroom and a bathroom downstairs, but we were able to add a second floor upstairs.
37:00So go check it out.
37:01So we're going to look at the bathroom real quick.
37:03Okay.
37:03Oh, look at the floor.
37:05Oh, nice.
37:06So much better.
37:08Whoa.
37:10Oh, this looks great.
37:12Wow.
37:14I love the spiral staircase.
37:17Oh, my gosh.
37:17Oh, my goodness.
37:17Oh, my goodness.
37:18I love this.
37:20Look at this.
37:21Look at the lake from here.
37:23It is amazing.
37:24It's a lot roomier than I thought it would be.
37:26Wow.
37:27Just a really unique view to experience for the very first time.
37:31You walk up there, and you just breathe it all in as you're looking out on the lake for
37:35the first time from a completely different perspective, 20 feet up in the air.
37:38Check this out.
37:39Amazing.
37:41That's really nice.
37:42Oh, my goodness.
37:43Oh, my gosh.
37:44And there is a shower.
37:45Yeah.
37:46Oh, that is so nice.
37:48I love it.
37:49This is so cool.
37:49Wow.
37:52Wow.
37:53She was about at her wow limit.
37:56I think we may have reached the 30 number before the end of the day, so it feels like
38:00a win for everybody.
38:01Wow.
38:0331.
38:04This is so nice.
38:05I know.
38:06We had 10 weeks and $65,000 to get the project completed.
38:11There is still a little bit of summer left, so hopefully you can enjoy it.
38:15Awesome.
38:16And here are the keys.
38:19How do you decide who gets those?
38:20I know.
38:21I'm not getting in the middle of that.
38:22It came in hot, though.
38:24You guys enjoy it.
38:25Thank you so much.
38:26Thank you so much.
38:27You're very welcome.
38:28See you.
38:29Bye.
38:30Bye.
38:31When the tree fell on the camp, it was so devastating.
38:34It was just a lot.
38:36It just felt overwhelming.
38:37And so now that we're here, the camp is redone.
38:40I mean, looking back, it almost feels like a blessing in some ways.
38:43I mean, I would have never guessed that, you know, cabin masters would have come in.
38:47I think it was everything we hoped for and more.
38:49Now I feel like, you know, it is our turn to take it over and start a new chapter for
38:56our families.
38:57We're just so happy and very grateful.
39:00Wow.
39:02Thank you, cabin masters.
39:08You know, at the end of those high school movies, when they say what happened to everyone afterwards, I wonder
39:13what ours would look like.
39:16Let's talk more yearbooks.
39:24What are you, Jedi?
39:25Most likely to be on television.
39:30I bet Ashley was the coolest, don't you think?
39:34I hear him.
39:35I hear him.
39:35Hold on.
39:36Chase!
39:39Instead of trying to adjust the jams and everything, I'm just going to shave with you.
39:47Chase is going to do a lumber run.
39:52You nailed it.
39:55You nailed it.
