00:00Here we go.
00:01Ah!
00:02Stop!
00:03Stop!
00:03You will definitely recognize the family.
00:06Hey!
00:07I am a producer, a main cabin master.
00:11We're looking to get into a place where we can all be.
00:14I was thinking maybe we could try a modular build with this one.
00:18Different style build than we've ever done before.
00:20How is that not letting go?
00:22This is the hottest stage I've been built.
00:24Rob and his family are into rock climbing.
00:28There's nothing little about this project.
00:29We've got a lot to do.
00:31It's going to be down the wire.
00:33Whoa!
00:34Look at that.
00:35Oh, that's cool.
00:51All right, so Chase said to meet him here and he's ice skating.
00:55Hi, Chase!
00:56Morning!
00:57Oh, the ice looks nice.
00:58Are you working on your moves?
01:00I have no moves.
01:01I can't skate things.
01:02I have my other carpal tunnel done.
01:04So, I got something to keep me occupied.
01:08Today we are in Auburn, Maine.
01:09But before we meet the homeowners, I thought it would be fun to enjoy some ice skating.
01:13All right, here we go.
01:14Shiitake mushrooms!
01:16Ah!
01:17Yes, hold on.
01:18It's just like riding a bike, but it's not even like a bike.
01:20It's not.
01:21Oh!
01:21No, come here!
01:23I gotcha.
01:24Let's go.
01:25Let's see, we're a team.
01:26Hey.
01:27How did I forget how to do it?
01:27We're mixed doubles.
01:29Okay, I got it.
01:29I got it.
01:29I got it.
01:30I got it.
01:30I got it.
01:32Ah!
01:34I have lost my ice skating abilities.
01:36You're too rigid.
01:36You've got to be loose.
01:37I used to think I was out of conscience, just like this.
01:39Ah!
01:40Go with the flow.
01:41Let your arms go.
01:43Here I go.
01:43Here I go.
01:44You're looking...
01:45Ah!
01:45Hey, you've gone from a...
01:47To a...
01:48You scored me a one.
01:49You scored a one.
01:50Now you're gonna put a point in the middle of it.
01:511.5.
01:52Who rates one to five, anyway?
01:54You got this.
01:55Oh, you're getting way better.
01:56Oh, no!
01:58Okay, stay on the road for a while.
02:02Fortunately, nobody fell.
02:03Looking good, honey.
02:04You got this.
02:05Oh, no!
02:06Oh, no!
02:06Oh!
02:08Unfortunately, nobody got dragged around.
02:12Oh, this is a five!
02:14This is a five!
02:16This is a five!
02:18Stop!
02:19Stop!
02:20Stop!
02:21It's a trick in the Olympics.
02:25Synchronized skating?
02:26This is all of them!
02:27Oh!
02:29I had a great time, I'll tell you.
02:31This is a guy that wasn't even skating.
02:32Score, please.
02:33Five and a five.
02:34You guys did good.
02:35Family we're gonna meet is right over there.
02:39So...
02:39Are we skating there?
02:40No.
02:40We'll take our skates off and go meet the family.
02:42All right.
02:43I'm ready to get these things off.
02:44It's not like riding a bike, you guys.
02:46Oh!
02:47You will definitely recognize the family.
02:49We've worked with them for over 10 years.
02:52Different style build than we've ever done before,
02:54but I'll let the homeowners tell you all about it.
02:57Hey!
02:59Hey!
03:00It's Rob!
03:00My name's Rob.
03:01And my name's Danica.
03:03Hey, everybody!
03:04Hello, Rob and family.
03:05We work with Rob quite a bit.
03:08I am a producer, a Maine cabin master.
03:11Hi, Violet.
03:12Sparrow.
03:13Hi, Summer.
03:15And Lulu.
03:15We've known his daughters since they were little,
03:18and it's great to be able to help him with this project.
03:21Rob, what's going on here?
03:22Well, we're building a house, or trying to.
03:25We met three years ago, and we're raising three girls together.
03:29We've been house hunting for a really long time.
03:33This summer, we bought the land.
03:34I actually grew up hiking on this property
03:36because I grew up right across the road.
03:39So I don't see any tents or anything.
03:40Where are you guys living now?
03:41Yeah.
03:43Separately, 20 minutes apart.
03:45Yeah.
03:46Since I got divorced three years ago,
03:48I currently live in my parents' in-law apartment.
03:51It's two rooms, a room for the girls.
03:52They all sleep in the same bunk bed.
03:54So right now, that's fun and cozy.
03:58But, you know, in a couple of years,
03:59it's not going to be big enough.
04:01We're looking to get into a place where we can all be.
04:03Chase added something new for us.
04:05I was thinking maybe we could try, like,
04:07a modular build with this one.
04:09What's modular?
04:09You build in sections inside,
04:11and then you bring it over,
04:13you put it in cranes, it all walks together.
04:14And you have a finished house.
04:15We want something that's going to be functional,
04:17we want something cost-effective,
04:18and we want something a few months from now.
04:21So you have plans finalized right now?
04:23Yes, we've got plans finalized.
04:25Rob has been working with the modular company.
04:28We're going to go down,
04:29we're going to check out the factory.
04:30This is kind of where the house is going to go.
04:32How many bedrooms?
04:33Four bedrooms.
04:34All right!
04:35Yeah, one for each girl and one for us.
04:37So this is hopefully going to be a full foundation,
04:40and then there's going to be a slab for the garage.
04:44That's right.
04:45Once all the concrete work is done,
04:47is it really just a matter of bringing in the modular
04:50and plopping it down?
04:53There's still a lot of work to be done.
04:54There's a deck on the side,
04:56and then we're hoping to get a daylight basement.
04:59And then as far as heating system...
05:01We were hoping to get propane.
05:04What about colors?
05:05We love funky, bold colors.
05:07And something really cool we were thinking about
05:10is maybe a black kitchen?
05:12Okay.
05:13Want to know one of the best things?
05:14It's built in a factory,
05:15so we don't have to stand out in the freezing cold all winter.
05:17You're going to love it.
05:18You're probably going to beg for us to do
05:20every project after this like that.
05:22We are probably going to regret this.
05:23And is there anything else you'd like to see done?
05:25I mean, we'd love to see the basement
05:27and the garage finished,
05:29and maybe have some landscaping done.
05:31But it's a big house,
05:32and I just don't see how it would be in the budget.
05:36All right.
05:36Well, then that brings up
05:37what is your budget for what you'd like to get done?
05:41The budget for the modular portion is $250,000,
05:44and I'm hoping that you guys can work with $50,000
05:46to get the rest of it done.
05:49Okay.
05:49What's your realistic timeframe
05:51to have this house completed?
05:53What's realistic?
05:54Next week? No?
05:56Sure.
05:58We would love, like, 15 weeks.
06:01Okay.
06:01Yeah.
06:02We'll do what we can to get you in here as soon as possible.
06:04I think this is going to be a...
06:07Blast?
06:08Five out of five.
06:10I'm excited.
06:11Way higher than I got rated.
06:12I think we've got everything we need.
06:13We'll check out the build site.
06:15All right, sounds good.
06:16All right, see ya!
06:17Bye!
06:18Once the foundation is done,
06:19we're going to build a daylight basement.
06:21On top of that,
06:21we're going to place a four-bedroom modular home
06:23that will be built in four sections,
06:25and we'll have a garage.
06:27On the outside,
06:28we'll fill in the windows,
06:29doors and siding where needed,
06:30and add a deck.
06:31On the inside,
06:32we'll need to tie it all together
06:33by installing staircases,
06:34trim floors,
06:35and paint the walls.
06:36And Rob will do the rest of the finish work
06:38and landscaping later down the line.
06:41Normally, we call the guys,
06:41but I think we have to call the guys
06:43that build the modular home,
06:45and then our guys,
06:46and tell them to meet us there.
06:48Okay.
06:48Sounds like a plan.
06:49Absolutely.
06:50All right.
06:51This is going to be fun.
06:57That's a big build, man.
06:58We got a whole season of cabins in there.
07:00Good.
07:01We're heading to the modular home factory
07:03that Rob Little,
07:04our homeowner,
07:05has decided to work with.
07:06How's it going?
07:07Hi.
07:08Welcome.
07:09So we're meeting employee Thatcher
07:10who's going to give us a tour of the factory,
07:13tour of the floor,
07:14and we're here to lend a hand
07:16to help build the Little Camp.
07:18How long does it take you guys
07:19to do the average-sized house?
07:20So it's usually about two weeks
07:21from the time that something goes in the door
07:23to where it comes out the other side of the factory.
07:25Exactly.
07:25Two weeks?
07:26Yeah.
07:26Let's check it out.
07:30Whoa.
07:31This place is huge.
07:33Unreal.
07:34Right?
07:35It's a lot bigger inside than it looks outside.
07:37It is.
07:37It is, yeah.
07:38We're about 100,000 square feet under the roof here.
07:40And so our facility is laid out in a U shape.
07:42This is technically where we first start building our modular boxes.
07:45So this is a floor assembly that's been taking the floor framing
07:48that just came over out of the saw,
07:50they lay it out,
07:51and then they nail it all together.
07:52And once they deck that,
07:53they'll attach those metal lifting hooks to it
07:54that you can see on that box up there.
07:56And then I'll grab it with our overhead crane system,
07:58lift it up on top,
07:59and then it goes on to our up jigs
08:00where we then work on the electrical and the plumbing
08:02and underneath.
08:04Well, you can see the plumbing holes that were all pre-cut in here
08:06for us to be able to quickly run our plumbing and electric.
08:09This is Doug's dream.
08:10Yeah, right?
08:11Yeah, right?
08:12So they are coming along nicely on Rob's little house on the production line.
08:15Little house on the production line.
08:17Yeah, this is the second floor.
08:20Bedroom one, bedroom two, bedroom three.
08:22The little house was in the early framing stages.
08:25It was four sections total.
08:27Looks like they're about to crane over the last section.
08:30It's coming down.
08:33Most of them had their exterior walls framed up.
08:36A few of the walls were still being built.
08:38Who needs what for lumber?
08:40I'm good at carrying lumber.
08:41Picking them up and putting them down.
08:43Principle's the same.
08:44Pneumatic nail guns, gas-powered nail guns, staplers.
08:53Just more of an assembly line process.
08:57Interior wall.
09:02These guys have a production line going on.
09:04Things are moving.
09:05Things are happening.
09:07When we're doing something, that building's permanent.
09:09That's where it's at.
09:10We're moving from area to area.
09:12This, the building, is moving from area to area.
09:15We are definitely out of place.
09:22How's it going?
09:23Chase.
09:24Nice to meet you.
09:25I'm just doing three.
09:28Okay.
09:33They were cranking.
09:34You know, they have to be efficient.
09:36They have to keep moving because if one station gets backed up, it backs everything up.
09:40Looks like one section's completed over here and they're pulling it over to the next side.
09:45It was cool to come and see the actual house that we're going to be working on being built.
09:52Like, I understand the streamlining of it.
09:54I'm sure it makes it so much more efficient, but...
09:56Up for our brains.
09:56No, not at all.
09:58So it's really hard to kind of jump into that.
09:59It'd be like having somebody show up on one of our job sites and try and jump in.
10:04Pretty amazing that they're putting windows in.
10:07These guys are doing electrical.
10:10Something to be said about this way of building.
10:12It's always sunny and 70 in here.
10:14They definitely are efficient and know what they're doing.
10:16You guys ready to come to work?
10:17Yeah.
10:17During the winter for sure.
10:19So after it's delivered, what's the next step of the process for us?
10:23Yeah, so once it's delivered, obviously, you'll head into the set.
10:26And once that set's complete, it really is on to that final finish.
10:30Awesome.
10:30Yeah.
10:31Well, this has been very interesting.
10:32Thank you so much.
10:33Yeah, pleasure.
10:33I'm gonna make like a finished house and get out of here.
10:35Yeah.
10:48Gotta have the right equipment for the job.
10:51Since we were here last at the little house, foundation hole's been cleared and getting ready
10:59to pour concrete.
11:05Let's go.
11:05Let's go.
11:09Let's go.
11:11Hey.
11:12Hey.
11:12How's it going?
11:15Isn't it beautiful?
11:16Today, I'm headed over to meet with Rob and the girls.
11:19I've come over here to pick your brains.
11:22Hopefully, you've been thinking about what you want your rooms to look like.
11:25It's a brand new build, so there's lots of details that we need to figure out.
11:29We have got a new building on the way, so let's get down to business.
11:33In terms of decorating, we have to figure out color, right?
11:35I want a blue room.
11:37A blue room.
11:38You have a wall color choice?
11:39Green.
11:40Green.
11:41You have a choice?
11:42Pink.
11:42Pink, all right.
11:44Now, what else?
11:44What are you into?
11:46Are there any activities that you like?
11:48Rock climbing.
11:50Rock climbing.
11:51Yeah, I actually built a rock climbing wall.
11:53It's in little pieces, but definitely we'd love an upgrade for that.
11:58Okay.
11:59Maybe I can get the guys to come with me.
12:00We can go do it together.
12:01Yeah.
12:03Well, now's your chance.
12:04Is there anything else you can think of?
12:05I'm going to get bunnies.
12:07Bunnies?
12:08Yeah.
12:09All right.
12:10Chase used to have bunnies, so I know that he has old bunny houses.
12:14So, I'm going to head over to his house and see if I can spruce those up.
12:17Well, thanks for meeting with me today.
12:19Yeah.
12:20I love working with the kids, and so I'm going to go over the top.
12:23I want to make it special for each one of them.
12:25All right.
12:25We'll see you soon, Rob.
12:27See you back at work?
12:28Yep.
12:28Okay.
12:29Bye.
12:30Bye.
12:40Bye.
12:40Beautiful spring Monday at the little job site.
12:43Little house sitting on up.
12:44The foundation walls have been poured, backfilled.
12:48The foundation floors are in.
12:50So, today it's a matter of getting the sill plates in place,
12:54getting the daylight basement walls framed up
12:57so that we are ready for when that house gets set.
13:02The house is currently on the production line,
13:05so this has to be ready to go
13:07because they're moving along
13:08and we don't want to slow them down.
13:11All right.
13:22Oh, that's set in the first piece.
13:24Take about two and a half.
13:28As far as center, I've got to go to you about three quarters.
13:31We're here at the little modular house today
13:33and it's set day.
13:35Beautiful.
13:36That's about a week's of labor right there.
13:39All four pieces are here, locking them together.
13:43We're spectating today.
13:45Yes, this is definitely not our area of expertise at all,
13:49so we're standing back,
13:50staying out of the way as much as possible.
13:53The garage doesn't come as boxes,
13:55it comes as the walls and then the roof.
13:57That gets all locked together.
13:58Fill up.
14:03And then the set crew roofs that.
14:07I'm very...
14:08I can't believe how fast it comes together.
14:10We just did two months of work in a couple hours.
14:14I didn't break a sweat, did you?
14:16That's awesome.
14:17But there's still a lot of work to be done.
14:24Let's just sit right over here for now.
14:26So Rob's girls have asked for bunnies.
14:29I know that Chase used to have bunnies.
14:30He mentioned he had an old bunny house.
14:32So I went and picked it up.
14:34If you want to take this off,
14:35I'll cut the board.
14:37Okay.
14:38The one board on the top was rotted off,
14:39so that's pretty much all it needed.
14:41It was in really good shape.
14:43All righty.
14:44I just wanted to freshen it up and, you know, decorate it.
14:51Boom.
14:54Okay.
14:55There we go.
14:56New bunny roof.
14:57That looks good.
14:58Do you think you'd be a roofer in your day?
14:59No, but I'm excited to have this skill.
15:00You can add roof into your repertoire.
15:02It will look good when we add the little finishing touches.
15:05Let's do it.
15:06Let's do this.
15:07I like the color.
15:10It's for three little girls.
15:12Pop it up.
15:12Pop it up.
15:13You know, I thought a perfect thing, add some flowers.
15:16This is looking way better than when you first brought it in.
15:21This is the cutest little bunny house ever.
15:23I think that's a huge upgrade.
15:24At this point now, we just need to wait for it to dry.
15:27We're going to seal it off so that the acrylic paint doesn't wash off.
15:30Let it dry and we'll come back.
15:32These are the luckiest bunnies in the world.
15:39So, a lot of construction has been happening at the little house.
15:43Garage walls are up.
15:45They're just finishing putting the roof on that.
15:47Then you enter into the mudroom.
15:50Outside door, backyard door, garage door.
15:53And then leads you into the main house.
15:56You've got a first floor bathroom here.
15:59Dining room there.
16:01You can see where the different sections come together.
16:04So, it's four sections total.
16:05Back section, front section.
16:06Same thing upstairs.
16:08Kitchen cabinets are all in place.
16:10Just needs appliances.
16:12Stairways.
16:13I got questions.
16:14You got parts.
16:15Are there instructions somewhere?
16:16Yes.
16:17You can see that floors still need to go in.
16:20But walls are done.
16:22Windows are trimmed out.
16:23Baseboard heat is in place.
16:25Now, it's just a matter of figuring out what's what, what's where, and what's left.
16:31It's very deceiving.
16:32How much work is a lot of work?
16:33Staircase up to the second floor.
16:35Need to be installed.
16:36So, that's really the first thing we tackle.
16:38For transport, they just temporarily put these staircases in place.
16:41So, we're essentially going to just lift them up to where they need to be and go from there.
16:47You guys tell me when.
16:48Okay, ready?
16:49Okay, ready?
16:50One, two, three.
16:51Oops.
16:53Can you?
16:53There you go.
16:54Keep going.
16:55Yeah.
16:56Yeah.
16:58Okay.
17:02You guys are safe.
17:03For the time being.
17:05Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
17:07Whoa.
17:08Something doesn't look right.
17:14We're like eight inches too high.
17:17What did we get ourselves into?
17:18We have to custom cut the stairs.
17:21So, I thought it was a fun Friday.
17:23We learned really quickly.
17:25It's not as easy as it looks.
17:27We call this on-the-job learning.
17:29Let's see what the plans say.
17:30Oh, the plans.
17:32Most homes, you do get a set of drawings other than something on a napkin or a woodshed menu.
17:39GC, that would be you, Chase.
17:41To remove rails on the stair area opening.
17:46So, it's saying basically the first stair tread is flush with this.
17:51Yeah, exactly.
17:52Is flush with that wall.
17:54So, it is back to this.
17:56It is back to that.
17:58Weird.
17:59So, the issue with the stairs on the second floor,
18:02we had to remove about six, seven inches of material to be able to get the stairs to lay where
18:08they're supposed to land.
18:13Get it off any more batteries.
18:15Fortunately and unfortunately, everything in a modular home is very well fastened.
18:21One done.
18:22Glued.
18:23How's that not letting go?
18:24And screwed.
18:26On a cup.
18:28I'm going to make a bat.
18:28We can build those stairs down below quicker than we can put these down.
18:31I wouldn't have bet that 20 minutes ago.
18:33So, it took a little bit to get those pieces out.
18:36Oh my, come on.
18:38It was a lot of work.
18:40There.
18:41That doesn't come out, I'm quitting.
18:44Oh.
18:46Wow.
18:47Gosh.
18:49This is the hottest stairs I've ever built.
18:52Breathe.
18:53Okay.
18:55Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
18:57Okay, you hold it.
18:58We're going to have to go back.
19:00All right, ready?
19:02Okay, you got it.
19:03I'm going to go over here.
19:05Ready?
19:06Yeah.
19:07What?
19:07Ah!
19:09Good.
19:10Good.
19:11We're there.
19:12We fought those things.
19:20We're now on to get the stairs into the basement area.
19:24I got it on the run, baby.
19:30Yeah!
19:33So, part of the foundation design is that Rob Little wanted a daylight basement, so we had to frame up
19:38some walls before the house got set.
19:40And we needed to sheathe everything with half-inch OSB to match up what was on the rest of the
19:46house.
19:48While Dixie and Ryan were working on getting all the pieces cut for the stairs.
19:56Drum roll, yeah.
19:58I grabbed my tape.
19:59I was just filling in spots where I could.
20:02All right.
20:03Yeah.
20:05The set of stairs that we made was very easy.
20:09Apparently, stairs were not included in the price for the basement.
20:13Really, it was just as well that we built them.
20:16They're just a basic framing staircase to be able to get down for egress to the basement.
20:26So, I'm cutting the treads for the stairs that we're building.
20:30These are going to be 13 at 37 inches.
20:32All right.
20:33That's a big set of stairs.
20:35Yeah.
20:36Um, okay.
20:44How do I fit?
20:46Like a glove.
20:48Better than the upstairs ones.
20:49Geez.
20:50Way easier.
20:59Nice and tight.
21:00Nice and tight.
21:02Yopsy!
21:05Stairs are done.
21:06Stairs are done.
21:08Fantastic.
21:09And the next steps would be vinyl siding on the exterior, sheathing and wrapping the daylight basement,
21:14and finishing the interior.
21:16Learned a lot today.
21:27Back at Colby.
21:28Athletic complex.
21:29Here we go.
21:30It's what we're known for, right?
21:31Yeah.
21:33Hello!
21:33Hello!
21:34Hello!
21:35Today, I asked the guys to meet me up in Waterville at Colby College to kind of look at the
21:40rock wall to see how it was built.
21:42This is Rebecca.
21:43Rebecca, this is the guys.
21:45Hi, guys!
21:45Hi, Rebecca.
21:46Good morning.
21:46She and a couple of the other rock climbers are going to be here helping us out today for a
21:50little activity.
21:52A little inspirational activity for the little camp.
21:55A little about this.
21:57Rob and his family, his three little girls, they all are into rock climbing.
22:01So, who's ready to rock climb?
22:04Looking at this, it makes me want to climb back into bed.
22:07Right?
22:07It's not a little wall, is it?
22:09Any other jokes?
22:10Just us on that wall.
22:12Yeah.
22:13All right, let's do it.
22:13I have faith in you guys.
22:14I don't know anything about it, to be honest.
22:16This is the easy one.
22:17It's the easiest one.
22:18This one would be that one right there, the gray-black one.
22:21Doesn't look very easy.
22:23How do you tighten these?
22:24The guys have a little bit of experience.
22:26Got you guys all fitted out with our harnesses and our climbing shoes.
22:31You can check that your piece here is double-backed.
22:36What does double-backed mean?
22:37Double-backed means that it goes through, like, both of these little loops.
22:41I'm double-backed.
22:42Am I double-backed?
22:42You're double-backed.
22:43You're double-backed.
22:44Really?
22:45We are learning today at Colby.
22:47He grabbed these and do a nice little tug.
22:50But doesn't it...
22:52Yours is not tight enough.
22:53That is not good.
22:54So that one maybe needs to be a little tighter.
22:56There they are.
22:57Hi, guys.
22:59Hi, ladies.
22:59Hey, girls.
23:00It's Rob and all the littles.
23:01It's Rob.
23:02Rob, if you're climbing, who's filming?
23:04I mean, you want to film?
23:09We've got to get a record of this.
23:11Put the headphone on.
23:13Okay.
23:14I don't even know where to walk.
23:16I'm a newbie.
23:18Autofocus only.
23:19Wait, I'm not supposed to be talking.
23:20Jedi, where are we?
23:21The little family is going to climb a big wall,
23:23and they're going to show us how to do it.
23:25I think I will make it a foot off the ground.
23:27Dixie, have you climbed before?
23:29Yes, I have.
23:30Many moons ago.
23:31What's your technique going to be?
23:33My technique is going to be don't fall.
23:34Dixie, tell me what's happening.
23:35So we are here just waiting for a sparrow to climb the red,
23:39and she's probably going to run up it
23:40and make us all look like fools.
23:42But that's what young kids do.
23:45All right, you're up next.
23:46Climbing.
23:47Climb on.
23:48Is there a trick to this?
23:50Don't let go.
23:51Um.
23:52Come on, you got it, bud.
23:54Where's my belt?
23:55Yay!
23:56Yay!
23:58Violet!
23:59Violet, you look like you're on Cirque du Soleil.
24:01She did it.
24:02Yay!
24:03Yeah!
24:06I'm ready, Dixie.
24:08Climbing.
24:08Oh, Dixie, yes!
24:11Nice.
24:12Damn.
24:12All right.
24:13The guys did way better than I expected.
24:17Oh, good job, Dixie.
24:20You still got it.
24:22Those other guys going first wasn't very cool.
24:25Done?
24:26It put a lot of pressure on.
24:28Climbing.
24:29Oh, I'm already slipping.
24:31Slow down, Jenna.
24:32Nice job, Ash.
24:34What is this?
24:36What is this?
24:36Use your legs.
24:37Use your legs.
24:38Ah!
24:40Ah!
24:40I did as good as I expected I was going to do.
24:43Nice job, Jedi.
24:45Done!
24:49Should be fairly simple to build a climbing wall.
24:52I mean, obviously, to do the angles and stuff,
24:54it gets a little more complicated,
24:55but you build your frame,
24:59and then it's just plywood with those clips behind you.
25:03Just looking behind the wall
25:04to see how the holds were fastened on.
25:07You know, it's this plywood wall.
25:08It's at least three-quarter inch thick,
25:10and they just have these clips.
25:12Drill a hole, screw them to the back,
25:14and thread them in.
25:15It looks like they're all about six inches apart.
25:18I got tons of inspiration.
25:19I need to go home and do some push-ups.
25:22See ya!
25:23Bye, guys!
25:23Bye!
25:25Whew!
25:32Things are looking great at the little project.
25:37All right, you're going in that hole.
25:42Tap it out.
25:44Right there.
25:46Okay.
25:47All right, I'm gonna go to lunch.
25:50The roof is pretty much wrapped up,
25:52and we're ready for windows.
25:55I'm gonna bring the windows around.
25:57Vinyl siding on the exterior.
26:07All right.
26:08Are you picking teams?
26:10Yeah.
26:11Today at the little camp,
26:12we had two major projects that needed to get done.
26:14The rock wall needed to get built,
26:15and the girls' bedrooms needed to be painted.
26:17Ha ha ha ha, hey!
26:19He's painting.
26:20Hey, no, no, no, we need those today.
26:22You're part of the painting team.
26:24Over the weekend,
26:24the guys got the basic frame together for the rock wall,
26:27and painted some bold colors downstairs.
26:29I met with the three girls,
26:30and they each chose a color,
26:32so I have those three colors upstairs
26:34in the coordinating rooms.
26:36I'm gonna build the rock wall.
26:37Okay.
26:38I'll paint a room for you.
26:39I'll paint a room.
26:40What do you guys want to do?
26:41They want to work with you, Ashley.
26:42Clearly, they want these rollers.
26:44Let's go, honeys.
26:45I got my morals today.
26:48Night, night, night.
26:49You guys are gonna not be able to be in here.
26:51You're gonna be pink and teal and purple.
26:54These are some bold colors.
26:57So we're just gonna divide and conquer.
26:58Look at how good of a cutter I am.
27:00See that?
27:01Cut it out.
27:03I can't really cut,
27:04so that takes time and patience.
27:06So Chase and Ashley are gonna cut all the rooms,
27:07and I can come behind rock and roll.
27:10Violet went with green,
27:11which I think is funny.
27:13In the meantime,
27:13I'm gonna take off all the plates.
27:14Oh, I do not like me in a room
27:16that's so white like this.
27:18I'm a little bit nervous.
27:19I'm actually really nervous.
27:21My strategy is not make a mess.
27:24Where did these come from?
27:27Oh, this was his old one.
27:28Oh, oh, yeah.
27:29Rob had previously had a climbing wall.
27:33He had dismantled it,
27:34and he kept all the pieces.
27:37So it's gonna save us a lot of time.
27:39So we're gonna try and use
27:40as much of this as we can.
27:42We'll be mounting this in no time.
27:44I've never done a rock wall before.
27:46No, me neither.
27:47Well, let's work on the cheeks
27:48and get the cheeks rolling first.
27:54Well, that is not the same at all.
27:58So it is not built the same way
28:01as the other one.
28:05So we're gonna have to cut a lot of stuff, I think.
28:14These aren't even...
28:16It's not even really close to the same angle.
28:18I just held one in place.
28:20So today, to build the rock climbing wall,
28:22we're using recycled climbing wall material.
28:27It's a little bit smaller.
28:29Say we screw it up in, trace it,
28:32cut it, install it.
28:34You know, we like to try and reuse everything.
28:36So we're gonna see what we can do
28:38to make all this stuff work.
28:40All right.
28:41Better?
28:42Yeah.
28:47Number one.
28:48Number one.
28:49Factory.
28:52Factory.
28:55Okay.
28:55Same thing, other side.
29:01Yeah, Fletcher.
29:02Oh, I'm pulling.
29:03Stop putting some handholds on.
29:05We'll give them a good handhold here.
29:08They can move the handholds
29:09to have less handholds.
29:10They have the corners now
29:12they can play with.
29:13Let's see.
29:14Jared tested the rock wall out.
29:21Fletcher tested the rock wall out.
29:27It will be nice with a nice pad.
29:30They can kind of free climb.
29:31I think it will be wonderful
29:32for them to play out there.
29:34Now make your way over to the monkey bars
29:36and come all the way across this way.
29:38Oh, goodness.
29:39I don't know if I can.
29:41Right here, I'm cutting in
29:42where Ryan has already rolled.
29:47Ryan's got some holidays up in this joint.
29:49Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
29:52Holiday doesn't...
29:53Holiday is many things to many people.
29:55Let me see.
29:56You had a holiday.
29:58Right here is a holiday.
30:00Holiday is when you have a drip
30:02or a spot where you just totally forgot
30:04to paint all together.
30:05Look at that.
30:06See that right here.
30:07Holiday.
30:07It's a holiday.
30:08If I didn't catch that,
30:09that would be a holiday.
30:10Because they were lazy.
30:11They took a break
30:11and they just went on holiday.
30:13Well, I think the Europeans' holiday
30:15is, you know, vacation.
30:16I'm working on not getting paint
30:17everywhere first.
30:18Okay, fine.
30:18To Ashley and most painters in Maine,
30:21it's when you mess up.
30:22Still a holiday.
30:24Heard that.
30:25I have a lot of holidays,
30:27so I should get some more time off.
30:28When Ryan's not on holiday,
30:29all you hear is talking.
30:31Boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop.
30:33Done.
30:34Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
30:38Colors are bright.
30:38They are lively,
30:40just like those little girls.
30:41Let's go check on the rock wall.
30:45We have to paint it now.
30:47The pattern didn't come together,
30:48but I like the mountains.
30:49I figured we'd do mountains again,
30:50but Ashley had a different vision.
30:52Kind of picturing, you know,
30:53a quarter of a sun
30:54with some rays coming out of it.
30:56This was more of an abstract vision,
30:58I think.
30:59I say if everybody gets a paintbrush,
31:01come on,
31:01it'll be a team building exercise.
31:03It was the end of the day,
31:04and I had a whole crew there,
31:08so I just ran with it.
31:09Fletch, where's the key for this, buddy?
31:10Chase!
31:11Yeah, we took the holds off.
31:12The paint needs to dry,
31:13and once it does dry,
31:15and we go and touch it up,
31:16we'll go and put the holds right back on.
31:19Look at that cut job right there.
31:21Boom!
31:21Nobody else can paint it at once.
31:29You're done.
31:30Nice job.
31:31Once this dries,
31:31we'll come in
31:32and reattach all the holds.
31:34We're going to get, you know,
31:35all the protective gear,
31:36some mats to go below it
31:38in case there are
31:38any little tumbles,
31:40and I think the girls
31:41are going to absolutely love it.
31:42Thanks, everybody.
31:43Sweet.
31:44Good work.
31:44Okay, wrap it up.
31:45Wash the brushes.
31:58So we're at the little project,
32:00and what keeps going through my mind
32:01is I love a good oxymoron.
32:03There's nothing little about this project.
32:05We've got a lot to do,
32:06but it's coming together.
32:10We've got trim to do on the first floor.
32:13Stretch that muscle.
32:17The team has been cranking.
32:18I've been here today to help them out.
32:20Kitchen will be done today.
32:22Looking good here.
32:23The guys did a great job today
32:24with the archway,
32:25getting everything together.
32:26You know, most of the work
32:27is where the four quarters
32:28of the house came together.
32:32We really want to try to get a deck in
32:34for the homeowners before the reveal,
32:36so we're really going to try to focus
32:38on that the last two days.
32:43Down below,
32:44we've got the hot water tank downstairs.
32:48Upstairs, you see all the fans and stuff?
32:50It's so humid in Maine.
32:51It hasn't been drying,
32:52so we have fans everywhere,
32:54and we're trying to get stuff to dry quickly.
32:56There's only so much you can do
32:57when it's this humid out.
33:00It's going to be down the wire.
33:05And you've got to remember,
33:07this is a huge house to stage as well,
33:09so the little project is becoming a big one.
33:14Done.
33:15We're down the wire,
33:16but we'll make it happen.
33:22All right, bunny cage.
33:24So today we are giving the house
33:27to the little family.
33:29Cleaned up nicely, didn't it?
33:30Yes, it did.
33:31This is a big house,
33:32but we're fortunate enough
33:33to have a lot of furniture from Rob,
33:36and then we kind of just added our own touches.
33:40There's some real bold colors.
33:42That's what they love.
33:44Every single room, I think,
33:45in there is a different color,
33:46but it works for them.
33:48All told, Rob had $300,000
33:50to put into this project.
33:51We had a small piece of it.
33:53The rest went to the modular home factory,
33:56to the foundation, to the earthwork.
33:58Keep going.
33:59And we had about 15 weeks
34:00to get this project completed
34:01so that they have a home they can move into.
34:04Oh, my goodness.
34:05Wow. Oh, my gosh.
34:07Look at that.
34:08Oh, my gosh.
34:09Oh, my gosh.
34:10That's so pretty.
34:11That is cool.
34:14It's huge.
34:14It is huge, isn't it?
34:16Yeah.
34:16Hey, Rob.
34:17Welcome to your new home.
34:19Hey.
34:21What do you think?
34:22So overwhelmed.
34:23Yeah.
34:24Whoa.
34:25It looks awesome.
34:26It's amazing.
34:27You love it?
34:27This is quite the shift.
34:29Before everything was cleared out,
34:31it was so difficult to imagine
34:33doing anything here,
34:34and it just looks amazing.
34:37So you guys had asked for a four-bedroom home year-round.
34:43So this was definitely a little different for us.
34:46When we first started,
34:47there was just lots of rocks for the foundation.
34:50We needed to build a daylight basement wall
34:52so you have walk-out access from the basement.
34:55And you've got a beautiful new furnace
34:57for heating the house and your hot water.
35:00And then they brought in a crane
35:02and brought the home in in four sections,
35:05stood up the walls for the garage,
35:07put a roof on it,
35:08and let us at it.
35:11It's so nice.
35:12Well, can we go inside?
35:13Head on in.
35:15All right.
35:15All right.

35:51to hang out.
35:52All right.
35:53Especially once we get our landscaping in.
35:55Overlooking the woods,
35:56you can hear all the birds.
35:58So relaxing.
36:00Let's keep the tour going.
36:01Keep the tour going.

36:14It looks like we would live here.
36:16Libby, are you excited to fill the rug with hair?
36:22That's right.

36:24Head on to the green room.
36:26Oh, whoa.
36:28Okay, this is awesome.

37:10My favorite part of the house is my bedroom.
37:14I am so excited to not share a room with them.
37:18When they're sleeping,
37:19they're always kicking me.
37:22And Summer always turns around,
37:24and so she's laying straight across the bed.
37:28Whoa.

37:51Lots of space.
37:53Yeah.
37:54The difference between having a bedroom with a kitchen,
37:58a living room, and an office in it.
38:01Oh, and there's a bathroom.
38:03You guys get a bathroom?
38:04Well, we get a bathroom.

38:33That's a big garage.
38:35And to put a rock wall in there, oh, my gosh.
38:38It's going to get a lot of use.
38:40Let's head outside.
38:44You mentioned that you are getting bunnies.
38:48So Chase donated a bunny hutch, and I painted it up and decorated it with some of those flowers
38:53and carrots for the bunnies.
38:55You guys get a new house.
38:57The bunnies get a new house.
38:58Yes.
38:59I think my bunny will like the bunny hutch.
39:03When we first showed up, there was absolutely nothing here.
39:07And now there's a four-bedroom house.
39:10Here are the keys to your new home.

39:29I'm throwing away my suitcase.
39:31I'm so happy to just never pack a bag ever again and to just have all of our things in
39:38one spot, to just feel like a family together all in one place.
39:43Thank you, Maine Cabin Masters.
39:46Without you guys, none of this would have been possible.
