US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on May 8 said the United States expected an Iranian response as soon as later in the day to its latest proposal to end the war in the Gulf, even as US and Iranian forces clashed in the Gulf and the United Arab Emirates came under renewed attack.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the US firing at Iranian boats in the Strait of Hormuz on May 7 violated international law and the ceasefire between Iran, the US and Israel.

00:19The normalizing of their controlling of international waterways is both illegal and it's just something that's unacceptable.
00:25And the world has to start asking itself, what is it willing to do if Iran tries to normalize a
00:30control of an international waterway?
00:32I think that's unacceptable.
00:34But we're expecting a response from them today at some point.
00:37We have not received that yet in the last hour, but perhaps that will come.
00:42Their system is still highly fractured and a bit dysfunctional as well.
00:45So that may be serving as an impediment.
00:48I hope it's a serious offer.
00:50I really do.
00:51Well, you should ask that of the Iranians.
00:52Don't ask me.
00:53We didn't fire.
00:53They fired on us.
00:54My point is, if you fire at a U.S. Navy ship, what are we supposed to do?
00:58Say, oh, there's a ceasefire.
00:59We're not going to shoot down your drone.
01:00That's a stupid question.
01:01That's a stupid position to take.
01:03Of course we fired back at them.
01:05They were shooting at us.
01:06That's what I would expect to do.
01:07Only stupid countries don't shoot back when you're shot at.
01:10And we're not a stupid country.
01:11We think it's to the benefit of China, the United States, and the world writ large that there be stability
01:15in the Straits there.
01:16And that continues to be our position.
01:18That's the one we'll continue to stand by and advocate for.
01:54And that's why we're not going to be able to do it.
01:58We're not going to be able to do it.
02:06...
02:07...
02:07...
02:07...
02:09If they feel that the situation is difficult, they will probably be the devil's.
02:15And because of our devices, we have been very comfortable and have been able to do it.
02:22I think that the power of them will change the power of them.
02:30They want to be able to be able to go out and start the power of them.
02:34It's a bit more difficult.
02:37Every way it's going to be able to show it to themselves.
02:42But it's a bit of a hard work.
02:45The citizens of the United States are going to be able to do this.
02:51And they are going to be able to do this.
02:53Not to be able to do this.
02:54Not to be able to do this.
02:54Not to be able to do this.
02:56We are going to be able to do this.
02:59We are going to do this.
03:03And we are going to be able to do this.
03:05But I hope that this is not going to be a complicated part.
03:09That will be the final part of the government,
03:10You will be able to have the government.
03:11You will do this project and see you.
03:13You will not see you on Afghanistan.
03:15You will not see you on Afghanistan.
03:15You will not see you on Afghanistan for the 20 years.
03:16Then do this work.
03:17Then raise up the war.
03:18The first part of your country is going on.
03:33You
