00:16Commercial shipping can't be terrorized in the Strait of Hormuz and obviously the memorandum of
00:22understanding between the parties was always performance-based and that President Trump if
00:27shipping is attacked or if the Iranians want to act belligerent, then he will respond with
00:34overwhelming force. We saw it when three ships were attacked a couple nights ago, 90-plus military
00:41strikes on targets. In this most recent attack, 140 or more military targets were attacked by the
00:49United States because that's what you do. You show strength. You make sure the Iranians don't benefit
00:56from this. You make sure the Strait continues to flow. What I can tell you is that the Iranians
01:03need to get their house in order, that the folks that are shooting missiles and drones at ships
01:11need to make sure that they're coordinating with the people that are negotiating the peace deal
01:15and that they're all on the same page because my sense is that they're not. And I think ultimately,
01:20it is in their best interest to continue to work on the deal that was outlined in the
01:26memorandum of an understanding that they perform under that memorandum and that we continue to march
01:33forward to a lasting deal that not only keeps the Strait of Hormuz open and toll-free but also make
01:40sure
01:40that Iran abandon its nuclear ambitions.

03:19What we don't have is what the political scientists call a herding stalemate.
03:25That is to say, a stalemate that is actually costing both sides and convincing them, A, that time is not
03:34on their side, B, that they no longer have the capacity to escalate, and C, there are no other options
03:39at their disposal.
03:42Therefore, concluding all of this, a herding stalemate would produce enough time and space for a successful negotiation.
03:48I don't think we have, we're anywhere near a herding stalemate.
03:53The Iranians have weaponized geography, and they have found a weapon that is much safer and more effective than the
04:02development of a nuclear weapon, and that is to turn the Straits of Hormuz into literally an ATM machine, but
04:08also to use it as a way to gain increased leverage with key Gulf states.
04:12And as a consequence, this is not a negotiating position, not a tactic on the part of the Islamic Revolutionary
04:20Guard Corps.
04:21It is a fundamental core requirement that once having deployed geography as a weapon, they want to be able to
04:29use it going forward.
