00:00I am Jenna Lisa Jones, and just as Haley, I would just like to give a little reminder that this
00:05was me at 14 years old.
00:08I was a child. I was in 9th grade. I was hopeful for life and what the future had held
00:18for me.
00:19He stole a lot from me at 14, so just a little reminder there for everybody. Sorry.
00:35So, I just want to start out by saying thank you for all of you for being here today.
00:40I want to start by expressing my deepest gratitude to the members of Congress who have stood with us, the
00:47survivors, in demanding the transparency and justice.
00:50Your support is a signal that this institution can still serve the American people.
00:55This issue was never one that should have divided us the way it has. In fact, it should have united
01:01us.
01:02Sexual abuse is not a Republican issue or a Democratic issue. It is also not a hoax.
01:10We are here as American survivors of a man who used his wealth and power to hurt young girls and
01:16women.
01:16The world should see the files to know who Jeffrey Epstein was and how the system catered to him and
01:23failed us.
01:25Emotionally, this process has been distressing.
01:28First, the administration said it would release everything and applauded President Trump for that.
01:34Then it fought to release nothing.
01:36Now that that checks and balances of our democracy have worked and the bill is getting passed to release the
01:45files,
01:46we are hearing the administration say they intend to investigate various Democrats who were friends with Epstein.
01:53I beg you, President Trump, please stop making this political.
01:56It is not about you, President Trump.
01:59You are our president.
02:01Please start acting like it.
02:03Show some class.
02:04Show some real leadership.
02:06Show that you actually care about the people other than yourself.
02:09I voted for you, but your behavior on this issue has been a national embarrassment.
02:18It is time to take the honest, moral ground and support the release of these files.
02:24Not to weaponize pieces of the files against random political enemies that did nothing wrong,
02:29but to understand who Epstein's friends were, who covered for him,
02:33what financial institutions allowed his trafficking to continue,
02:38who knew what he was doing but was too much of a coward to do anything about it.
02:45If Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were able to recruit and abuse young girls and women,
02:52then the country will learn nothing and has horrible history will repeat itself if we do not do something about
03:02this.
03:02Thank you to the brave congressmen and women who have stood by us and recognize our side is the American
03:08side,
03:08and we should all be proud once again to be Americans.
03:11I want to just extend my thank you so much to all three of you very, very much.
03:16The first time we were here, listening to people yell shame at you,
03:20and when she was here in support of us, really hit home and spoke some volumes,
03:25and I just very much appreciate your support, and we stand by you.
03:32Don't let any of them bully you. We're here for you.
03:35Thank you, guys.
03:42Wow. Good morning, everyone.
03:44Thank you all so much for coming together today and taking the time to listen to us.
03:49Your presence means the world,
03:52and it shows commitment to understanding and supporting survivors and Americans.
03:56I stand before you today with a heavy heart.
04:00I originated from Brazil, and I came to the United States when I was eight years old.
04:05I was only 14 when I first encountered Jeffrey Epstein,
04:09and my daughter is now almost at that age.
04:12At 14, the only things she should be concerned with are going to school,
04:17practicing at her cheerleading competitions,
04:19and enjoying her time with her friends and family.
04:22She should not have to bear the burden of worrying about being manipulated or exploited.
04:28At this age, she is still a child,
04:30and no child should ever have to face such threats.
04:34I also want to address a troubling statement made by a prominent figure on a major platform
04:41who suggested that a 14-year-old should not be considered a victim of pedophilia.
04:47This is a dangerous and incorrect notion.
04:50When we talk about how children at 14 should still be treated as children,
04:54I ask you to look at the young people around you.
04:58Remember when you were that age?
05:00Do you think you should have been responsible for being groomed?
05:03Put yourselves in our position when we were young.
05:06I am here today not to just share my story,
05:09but to call on all of you to help make a difference.
05:12We need to support to push for the Transparency Act and release the Epstein files.
05:17Please reach out to your Congress members and Senators
05:20and urge them to support this crucial legislation.
05:24The truth is something that we all deserve,
05:27and it is vital for safety and protection of the future of generations.
05:31Think about all the young people in your life,
05:34your daughters, your nieces, your friends.
05:37Let's stand together and ensure that they grow up in a world
05:41where they are safe and valued.
05:43I often wondered, why did this happen to me?
05:47And then I realized,
05:50God only gives you what you can handle.
05:52I'm here for a purpose,
05:54and that purpose is to make a difference today.
05:58So, let's stand together
06:00to protect our children and our peace.
