00:00:10out here in the wild of florida and uh i just found out that there is a 21 day
00:00:16naked and afraid going on literally just outside my property but right now is the absolute worst
00:00:22time of year to go in florida alligators in mating season right now this is when alligator males get
00:00:28a huge amount of testosterone and uh because they're out there looking for a mate they're
00:00:32also looking for a fight i don't think i can sit back and hope that they don't get into trouble
00:00:40and i think i have to go out there and see if i can help them make sure they don't
00:00:44die
00:00:46leaving the house naked headed off into the bush all right well got two new friends to meet
00:01:00i'm just not sure anybody can survive here for 21 days oh my god
00:01:07two strangers
00:01:11no food
00:01:17no water
00:01:2021 days don't have
00:01:22die first
00:01:24naked and afraid
00:01:37check this out y'all this is my first time in the everglades
00:01:41super thick palm trees everywhere you can feel the humidity basically like a humid hell
00:01:52it's been rainy it's been miserably hot and i'm afraid of the bug bites in places that the sun
00:01:59hasn't seen i think it's gonna be incredibly hard
00:02:13all right this is it i've been in the outdoors my whole life going on camping trips with my dad
00:02:21my brother i have knowledge of building things making snares starting fires so i went on a hike at
00:02:29the appalachian trail i did 250 miles on it by myself carrying a 50 pound pack and i was terrified
00:02:36you know i'm by myself i had bears come up into my camps i jumped across rattlesnakes i had no
00:02:43clue
00:02:43what i was doing i was winging all of it it was a life-changing event for me i learned
00:02:48to control my
00:02:49mind and i learned that i'm a badass did 75 miles across the sonora desert did 90 miles in portugal
00:02:5760 miles in iceland after i found all this confidence it was like where's my next adventure
00:03:02where's my next challenge and here i am bring on the everglades
00:03:26here we go time to do it again this isn't my first challenge i've done a 21-day challenge in
00:03:33africa
00:03:34she's freaking huge
00:03:41i hit her i hit her and also participated in an xl in colombia um unfortunately that one didn't go
00:03:49as
00:03:49planned jesus christ man miserable as hell out here i'm gonna i'm gonna leave the challenge this
00:04:01location is not gonna work stay strong thanks true
00:04:07it's humbling you know being here in the everglades obviously the bugs and stuff are going to be horrendous
00:04:14so i'm not calling this a redemption but i'm here to do this challenge and crush it because
00:04:19i want to show i'm one of the top survivalists in neck and afraid florida here i come
00:04:35deep in the everglades of southern florida months of historically low rainfall and unprecedented drought
00:04:43conditions have recently ended with a vengeance
00:04:48as a massive influx of violent tropical storms have pounded the area for days at a time bringing
00:04:56water and life flooding back to the marshy ecosystem but also awakening its previously dormant population
00:05:04of alligators to breed and hunt with newfound aggression and creating massive infestations of swarming insects
00:05:13and mosquitoes that pose an increased risk for diseases such as west nile virus and eastern equine
00:05:21encephalitis that can cause brain inflammation and death in horses and humans
00:05:39see my partner hi hi i'm cole i'm tori good to meet you how are you good are you excited
00:05:48i'm so excited
00:05:50so good you're here for 21 days i'm i'm here for 21 days let's do it good so i hope
00:05:56we can be good
00:05:56partners we're going to be great partners let's check out our bags all right seeing cole i am very
00:06:03excited i remember him from a show that i just watched recently i'm a hunter so i brought my bow
00:06:09okay awesome i um actually brought paracord with a giant gator hook on it yeah that's perfect we are
00:06:18going gator hunting baby hell yeah when it comes to gators out here they do scare me because i'm not
00:06:24trying to lose an arm or a leg out here but you just gotta let all that fear go and
00:06:29i have never
00:06:30killed a gator um and besides fish i have never killed anything but now i'm ready to jump on the
00:06:36back of one because what's more badass than that in addition to their personal items cole and tori
00:06:42are given a pot a fire starter and due to the high risk of mosquito-borne disease in the area
00:06:47a bug net
00:06:48we have no knife yeah that's a little concerning to me uh to be honest with no cutting tool it's
00:06:56going to be difficult um to figure out our shelter but tori's great a little on the smaller side but
00:07:03you know dynamite comes in small packages i think we're going to crush it i'm actually holding a map
00:07:08here let's see where we're at north is going off this way yep yep looks like we need to make
00:07:16it to this
00:07:16big fresh water source over here yes you ready to do this i am yeah fun voyage yeah let's do
00:07:24it
00:07:28to reach their water source tori and cole must push through four miles of dense marshland
00:07:33the muddy terrain and gator filled waterways crawl with giant pythons and highly venomous pit vipers
00:07:40such as the cottonmouth while the high grasses conceal aggressive wild hogs and territorial black bears
00:07:55ow hang on a little like rambo here whoo that's in the naughty spot hang on so look here
00:08:04look at that pig bed right there that's a good sign all right oh yeah this stuff ain't no joke
00:08:14just keep your eye out for any snakes gators if a snake pops up right here i'm gonna lose it
00:08:20all my life i've hated snakes they've always scared me i'm super nervous not to have a knife that ain't
00:08:26stopping me we don't have a knife and i'm slightly freaking out but i'm gonna between cole and i we're
00:08:37gonna have to really come up with uh some ideas of figuring it out i've been keeping my eye out
00:08:42for
00:08:42some rocks and stuff but they're kind of few and far between yeah we gotta be close it looks like
00:08:49it
00:08:49smell the water here it is oh yeah oh my gosh it's not huge but it'll do oh i love
00:09:05the resort you brought
00:09:06me to honey i wouldn't doubt it if there's a gator in here for sure yeah i don't think i'm
00:09:14gonna go be
00:09:14taking any swims anytime soon no uh maybe we can start looking for somewhere to do shelter yeah yeah
00:09:21i'm thinking like right up in here a bunch of firewood around i think this is a pretty good spot
00:09:26maybe we try to utilize this oak tree right here i like it are you wanting to try to do
00:09:32an a-frame from both sides or just do like maybe one side i mean we can start off with
00:09:35just one side
00:09:36yeah and then we can work on it as we go okay cool yeah i think i'll just start dragging
00:09:41logs over here
00:09:42and leaning them up against here i'm gonna gather what i need here and start clearing out the area some
00:09:52not having a knife i'm gonna you know i'm gonna be as resourceful as i can i mean growing up
00:09:58we
00:09:59weren't always allowed to run around with a machete so i've done stuff like this before just like a debris
00:10:12sheltered so pretty much we're using the trunk of the tree as our main joist yep um doing an a
00:10:19-frame
00:10:20off of that with side rails that will allow our palm fronds to go in and do our shingles down
00:10:26through
00:10:26it creating a really good a-frame got two new friends to meet and don't know they're about to
00:10:35be uh greeted by a savage go crash your party this is my 10th challenge but every challenge i've ever
00:10:44done i've always been able to learn something new from partners hey you guys got room for one more
00:10:49oh matt frickin ride dude that's so crazy man i heard you guys surviving almost in my backyard
00:10:58figuring to come over and come on cool i've recognized him from actually doing a 21-day
00:11:04challenge and a couple days on an xl and uh good to see you guys let me give you a
00:11:08hug
00:11:11i'll give you a proper hug you know awesome oh my gosh so i heard you guys are out here
00:11:17surviving and i
00:11:17was like it's kind of close to come by it's kind of close i was like let's do it and
00:11:22so if you got
00:11:23some room for me yeah let's say let's party i'm in novice heaven right now because i'm i'm squeezed
00:11:28in between the two experts i had no clue that we were going to get a third person and i
00:11:33know he's
00:11:34been on so many of these challenges oh he's right here he's right here oh yeah okay all right watch
00:11:42your
00:11:42hand watch your hand all right i have brought more food in than the top 10 people combined savage
00:11:48strikes again right here i wait to like take it all in from him um and have him show me
00:11:56uh the
00:11:57things that he's learned and i feel like between cole and then matt and then it's me as i'm a
00:12:02novice
00:12:02right now for the first time uh yeah i'm sitting here sitting nice in a man witch i want to
00:12:09get a gator
00:12:09and i want to rule this in i want to be the one to jump on its back deal come
00:12:12on okay come on make
00:12:14it happen i brought my longbow heck yeah you know something about that don't you yeah yeah i know a
00:12:19little something about being one of those once or twice one of my big motivations for coming on this
00:12:23challenge was seeing this bow hunter mr matt wright killing it bow hunting and i can do that you know
00:12:29so he's a big inspiration for me and super pumped to see him please tell me that you have a
00:12:34blade
00:12:34oh you guys don't have a knife no no please fine i've been fine i brought one with me yes
00:12:40i've been
00:12:42panicking all day yeah i would imagine you guys were panicking yep i got us a good blade well show
00:12:47me your place show me your little your little location here let's say i like this spot it's
00:12:51gonna actually be the adequate size i think for for even the three of us it's about size of the
00:12:55shelter
00:12:56i made in like louisiana when it was the three of us in there and i would actually suggest we
00:12:59get a
00:12:59fire going and just start smoking the area out to keep those mosquitoes at bay all right let's do it
00:13:05you get to make your first fire on naked and afraid i know
00:13:20there's some more volume oh holy you first fire of naked and afraid for you
00:13:32fire master job tori i've seen quite a few fires and that was one of the best
00:13:37places here we go this is day one and it didn't take long for me to start feeling drained so
00:13:48i'm
00:13:49feeling parched a little dehydrated and we haven't even finished building a shelter
00:13:57you can get hypothermic still out here in the swamp real easy yeah if uh if you don't have a
00:14:02proper
00:14:03shelter and it rains all night matt and i are just getting all the palm problems uh layered
00:14:07in there for you know shingles we we're really just busting ass and knocking this thing out
00:14:13we are working together fantastic because we just whipped together a three-person shelter it is
00:14:19actually large enough for all three of us to lay in there have room to walk around but also it
00:14:25is
00:14:25pretty much almost like airtight on the sides because out here if you're not vigilant and protecting
00:14:32yourself from the elements these storms will send you home
00:14:51i am tired and i have a raging headache definitely lost a lot of electrolytes a little rest and
00:14:58hydration i think you'll be feeling better typical kind of overdoing it for tori on day one i think
00:15:07you know just hitting those limits of dehydration over exertion of building shelter just heat all those
00:15:17things
00:15:19trying to drink um enough water and everything but my head is pounding like it's gotta be a migraine
00:15:29and i feel nauseous
00:15:34i i i have to go throw up
00:15:38oh
00:15:52oh
00:15:53oh
00:16:18Sounds like you're doing a little bit
00:16:20of that Naked and Afraid orchestra over here.
00:16:27Oh, yeah.
00:16:28Oh, yeah.
00:16:29You all right?
00:16:31Does this help at all?
00:16:32Yeah?
00:16:33Yeah, because my neck and my head are just pounding.
00:16:38OK, I don't think I'm going to throw it anymore.
00:16:39I think that's subsided.
00:16:42I kept feeling the waves in the tent, but now there's, oh,
00:16:47gosh, it feels good.
00:16:49I ended up throwing up everything that I got down today,
00:16:53all the water.
00:16:55Even though I'm still uncomfortable,
00:16:56I feel like if I didn't have a screaming,
00:16:59pounding headache, I could probably get some sleep
00:17:02because I am very tired.
00:17:04All the hydration I did have, it just went out the window.
00:17:07Day one, it just took its toll.
00:17:10So I definitely feel like I'm in hell right now.
00:17:13How's the head feeling?
00:17:14It's pounding really bad right now.
00:17:17If we can find some willow in the willow bark,
00:17:20it has basically like an aspirin trait.
00:17:24Oh, yeah?
00:17:24Yeah.
00:17:28You can tell this is willow by these long, skinny leaves
00:17:32right here.
00:17:35And basically what I'm going to do is I'm going to try to just
00:17:38take some of this kind of supple bark that's up here
00:17:44and just kind of shave some of it off.
00:17:50Just like that.
00:18:00OK, girl.
00:18:02We're going to administer some willow bark to you, OK?
00:18:07Bush medicine.
00:18:08OK.
00:18:08But it is a suppository.
00:18:14So we're going to have to, it's a little rough.
00:18:18Don't laugh.
00:18:19I don't want to hurt your head.
00:18:20Just kind of, you know, just take what you want
00:18:23and just kind of munch on it and, you know.
00:18:27Like actually chew it up or is it like I just suck on it?
00:18:28Don't swallow it.
00:18:29Just kind of chew it up, yeah.
00:18:30And then suck on the juices and just let that kind of settle
00:18:33in there and just, you know, take it as you can handle it.
00:18:36And we do have fresh water, so.
00:18:38OK.
00:18:39OK.
00:18:40Just take your time and hopefully that.
00:18:42I'll take some of this and then try to get some water in.
00:18:45Yep.
00:18:46Oh, gosh.
00:19:04Cole, you have any more of that willow?
00:19:06It's hanging up right there on this palm right here.
00:19:10Oh, OK.
00:19:11Awesome.
00:19:12Yeah.
00:19:12Do you think it worked?
00:19:14I feel like it worked enough for me to at least try some more.
00:19:17Cole, he found some willow bark.
00:19:20After now about an hour and hour and a half of having it,
00:19:23I can tell the difference in my headache.
00:19:26Y'all were awesome.
00:19:27It's good to have you back at it.
00:19:29Yeah.
00:19:37In 15 minutes from now, as that sun gets lower down,
00:19:40it's going to turn into a bit of a mosquito wild ground.
00:19:44Yeah.
00:19:44So we are going to do what we can to keep these mosquitoes at bay.
00:19:48I'm hoping I get a little sleep tonight.
00:20:13We set our shelter on top of some sort of...
00:20:20little mite creatures.
00:20:21We don't know what it is.
00:20:22We're getting bit by something that keeps us from all being able to actually have a quality
00:20:28night's sleep.
00:20:29You could swat them.
00:20:30You could smack them.
00:20:32But it doesn't seem to go away.
00:20:35They must be literally damn near microscopic.
00:20:39There's no getting rid of it.
00:20:40There's no scaring whatever it is off.
00:20:43You could feel the welts starting to build up.
00:20:45We have barely slept a wink.
00:20:49And it's frustrating.
00:20:53I'm not going to lie, the thought that I could probably walk out of here
00:20:56and definitely be home sleeping before daylight crosses your mind.
00:21:01It's insane.
00:21:20Here on day two, I'm just going for a little walk here.
00:21:25We made it through the night.
00:21:27It was a rough one.
00:21:28I didn't sleep very well.
00:21:29Definitely had some biting insects.
00:21:32I don't...
00:21:32I say insects.
00:21:33We don't even know what it is, really.
00:21:35Because you can't see them.
00:21:39I think I got, what?
00:21:40I think four minutes of sleep.
00:21:42Welcome to Naked and Frazee.
00:21:43Yeah.
00:21:49What the is that?
00:21:51It's a tiny, tiny little red ant.
00:21:54It is a little tiny .
00:21:56Yeah.
00:21:57That welts is 10 times the size of the thing that left it.
00:21:59These little microscopic ants out here sting like a damn wasp.
00:22:03But if you look right in...
00:22:04Oh, yeah, there's a couple.
00:22:05To improve our night sleep tonight, we're going to pull some palms out.
00:22:10And this fire is going to be stretched into there.
00:22:14And we're going to start just trying to nuke all of those little ground bugs in there.
00:22:18Then once everything has been burned hard, just white ash.
00:22:21Bugs don't like white ash because it ends up making them feel like they're in a fire.
00:22:24So because of that, they will usually leave us alone.
00:22:34Burn!
00:22:35Fire, eh?
00:22:41It looks pretty damn good.
00:22:44Anything worth doing is worth doing right.
00:22:52Headed to get our water pot that's cooled down in the water.
00:22:57We're thirsty.
00:22:58Hoping that we're going to find some food.
00:23:07There you go, right there.
00:23:09There is a water snake here.
00:23:11Almost right off the bat, we see a water snake.
00:23:15It's food, you know.
00:23:16Might as well try to go for it.
00:23:19Wait, I got my wampin' stick.
00:23:21All right, so I see his head.
00:23:21All you got to do is just sneak close and then just hit him as hard as you can on
00:23:24top of the head.
00:23:25So I get a little bit panicked because I've never done this before.
00:23:28I know there's a handful of snakes out here that are non-venomous and plenty of them are venomous.
00:23:34Harder for me to tell because, like, kind of a snake's a snake and I don't get too close to
00:23:38it to be able to tell the difference.
00:23:39It's going to come back your way.
00:23:40We're positive it's a water snake.
00:23:42Yeah.
00:23:50Big wall.
00:23:52Oh .
00:23:54Boom, I miss it by, like, just a couple of inches.
00:23:57Is that him right there?
00:23:58To your right, Matt?
00:24:00Right there, you see the little yellow grass?
00:24:02Oh, yeah.
00:24:02Okay, you want a wamp number two?
00:24:03Yeah, that's definitely him.
00:24:05But then he comes up onto land.
00:24:07Get him.
00:24:08Okay.
00:24:10Get him, get him, get him, get him, get him.
00:24:12Swing him out.
00:24:14Okay.
00:24:14Oh, oh, oh, oh.
00:24:15There you go, there you go.
00:24:16Oh, look at you go.
00:24:18All right, do we want snake tonight?
00:24:20Do we want snake tonight?
00:24:21It almost looks like a little cotton mouth.
00:24:23It does kind of look a little cotton mouth.
00:24:24You might be holding a cotton mouth.
00:24:26I think I am.
00:24:27Look at that head.
00:24:28What are you doing holding it alive?
00:24:29That is a cotton mouth.
00:24:30Why are you holding it alive?
00:24:31That is a cotton mouth.
00:24:32Oh, my gosh, did I just grab a venomous snake with my bare hands?
00:24:36You want a little snake for dinner?
00:24:38Yeah.
00:24:38All right, let him kind of go towards the ground or then whop him on the head with your stick.
00:24:44Oh, wow.
00:24:44Oh, my gosh.
00:24:45Oh, my gosh.
00:24:47Oh, wow.
00:24:48Oh, wow.
00:24:48Oh, wow.
00:24:48Got him.
00:24:48Oh, my gosh.
00:24:49Oh, my gosh.
00:24:55That is a cotton mouth.
00:24:56All right.
00:24:56Let him kind of go towards the ground or then whop him on the head with your stick.
00:25:01Nailed him.
00:25:01And then just grab him right behind the head.
00:25:04Oh, wow.
00:25:05Oh, wow.
00:25:05Oh, wow.
00:25:06Wow.
00:25:06Get him.
00:25:06Get him.
00:25:07Get him.
00:25:08Oh, he's coming back at you.
00:25:13Good job.
00:25:14Oh.
00:25:15I got him then.
00:25:17Oh my gosh.
00:25:20I'm proud of you.
00:25:22Oh, my heart's pounding.
00:25:23She understands right now
00:25:25that she just accomplished something
00:25:27that her body said no, her mind said no.
00:25:31Tori has embraced the skill she didn't have before.
00:25:34So that's exactly what I came out here for.
00:25:37Dumb it!
00:25:42Normally, that would just send me running.
00:25:44But being out here, you find out
00:25:46that you're just way more capable of doing something
00:25:49when you start letting go of that fear
00:25:51that holds you back from everything.
00:25:54You get to feed us a snake.
00:25:56Hot, hot, hot.
00:25:59Now this is what you call straight off the grill.
00:26:04Oh, it's good.
00:26:05It's really good.
00:26:06Mm-hmm.
00:26:07Really good.
00:26:08It's, like, sweet.
00:26:09It almost tastes like pork rinds.
00:26:12Oh, look at you, snake master.
00:26:14I am Tori, and I proved this message.
00:26:18Snake is delicious.
00:26:21Oh, my gosh.
00:26:21I'm going to eat it.
00:26:23No-see-ums.
00:26:24The no-see-ums decided to just make a huge appearance.
00:26:27So we were getting eight alive.
00:26:31Yeah, they're all over me.
00:26:32Yeah.
00:26:33I've got to make sure we smoke our fire out,
00:26:35because they were coming for us tonight.
00:26:46Ash worked like a champ to get rid of those little hell ants.
00:26:50But mosquitoes are here.
00:26:55And my bed sheet during the night is now needed.
00:27:00So we are hanging it up, and it's going to spread it out across the three of us.
00:27:05The buzzing of the mosquitoes never end.
00:27:08Really, I agree with you.
00:27:10Even with both fires, it is not deterring the mosquitoes.
00:27:14It's not good.
00:27:16Yeah, tonight's going to be a long night.
00:27:18I am itching.
00:27:21It's .
00:27:35It's .
00:27:37So, second night, how'd you got to sleep?
00:27:40I still did not sleep well.
00:27:41Yeah.
00:27:42I got maybe an hour or two of sleep.
00:27:44Yeah, I didn't sleep all that great.
00:27:46I'm worried, because a lot of times the bugs and everything's kind of distracting you from
00:27:51really calming down and going to sleep.
00:27:54And I know it could potentially take you out.
00:27:57It is just thick with bugs and mosquitoes and flies and biting flies.
00:28:03Yeah, they're out there heavy.
00:28:05See if you can see, I've got a lot of mosquito bites just all over my forehead.
00:28:09My arm is just ate up with bug bites to my legs.
00:28:16And my feet, you know, just riddled with bites.
00:28:22All of the flies are right here with us today.
00:28:25We want to thank everybody for showing up.
00:28:28There may not be any mosquitoes because of flying competition.
00:28:31Yeah, they're intimidated.
00:28:33I don't know if you can see these gnats.
00:28:35But if you can, imagine your entire face being engulfed in little tiny gnats going in your ear, your nostrils,
00:28:41up your eyes.
00:28:4310 challenges, this one is the least comfortable that I've ever had.
00:28:49I could go for some food.
00:28:50I know y'all can.
00:28:53Getting out to bust out one of these heart of palms.
00:28:56That's a south delicacy.
00:29:00A lot of work to get a heart of palm.
00:29:02It involves chopping a tree down to get the small little center.
00:29:05What I'm going to do here is get a little swamp cabbage out of here.
00:29:11But inside it is a lot of nutrients, carbohydrates, and sugars.
00:29:19Cole, oh my gosh, there's two squirrels right up here in the tree.
00:29:22We're going to go kill a squirrel quick.
00:29:25This is the normal lifestyle for me, creeping around the woods just like I'm doing.
00:29:29Growing up, I lived pretty much in a trailer park on the east side of Austin, Texas.
00:29:34This is one way for us to save money.
00:29:36We were always eating wild protein.
00:29:38It wasn't until I started dating that I realized, like, oh, most people get all of their food from the
00:29:44grocery store.
00:29:45Cole has spotted a squirrel.
00:29:49Okay.
00:29:50Oh.
00:30:00You had that arrow still up there.
00:30:02You got him.
00:30:03Wow.
00:30:07Oh, my gosh.
00:30:08Yeah.
00:30:11I'm glad he got him and could put him out quickly so it wasn't a slow death.
00:30:22Big day.
00:30:24Matt was cutting the heart of palm.
00:30:28Going in the pot.
00:30:31One squirrel for three people is not a lot.
00:30:33However, there's enough complexity in this cabbage palm to actually make us feel full.
00:30:39Out here in the wild, we don't get a lot of veggies.
00:30:42We thank you, squirrel.
00:30:44Yes, thank you.
00:30:45Much appreciated.
00:30:47Circle of life.
00:30:48All right.
00:30:50Down the hatch.
00:30:53I tell you what, this is the most tender squirrel I've ever had.
00:30:56It's a good squirrel.
00:30:57Yeah.
00:30:58All these years, I've obviously, I've obviously, I've had partners that have gotten food, but I've actually never, through the
00:31:07last ten challenges, had a partner shoot stuff with a bow and bring me food.
00:31:13What?
00:31:14Yeah.
00:31:16Freaking love you, bud.
00:31:17Dude, thank you so much.
00:31:18It is a, it's pretty, it's a pretty special feeling.
00:31:21It feels almost like, in a way, like a, you pass a torch.
00:31:24Oh, man.
00:31:25I'm one of the first people to ever feed Matt with a bow and arrow on a challenge.
00:31:32It's huge.
00:31:33And...
00:31:38That's huge.
00:31:45I'm excited.
00:31:46I'm excited to be a part of this.
00:31:47I love it.
00:32:04It is the morning of day five, and we are already very much a really close knit team.
00:32:12We don't even go to the water hole without each other.
00:32:19On the map, there shows another pond.
00:32:21We should go check it out, too, while we're here.
00:32:23Okay.
00:32:33Let's check this pond out.
00:32:35Is that a log?
00:32:37Wait, is that what you're, right in the middle there?
00:32:41Is that enough?
00:32:41Right in the middle.
00:32:42Is that an alligator?
00:32:42That looks like.
00:32:44Um...
00:32:45Yep.
00:32:45It is.
00:32:46Okay.
00:32:47Yes!
00:32:48That's about a six, maybe almost seven foot alligator in this little pond.
00:32:52It's mating season, and it's kill or be killed.
00:32:56We're either gonna get snapped up by one of them, or we're gonna snap one of them.
00:32:59I want one of those things bad.
00:33:01There he is again, right there.
00:33:02Yep.
00:33:02He just popped right back up.
00:33:04That's about seven foot.
00:33:05Yep, he's doing a turn.
00:33:07He might stretch to eight.
00:33:09We've got our first gator down here in the Everglades.
00:33:13And I'm so stoked, because that's all I've talked about is, I'm gonna kill a gator.
00:33:19With this hook, you throw it over his back.
00:33:22We're gonna hook it, and you're just gonna feel a tiny, tiny bit of weight.
00:33:27Okay.
00:33:28And then just really hard jerk back, and then rodeo begins.
00:33:32Oh, pierce it.
00:33:33That's a seven to eight foot gator.
00:33:34They are dangerous.
00:33:36It could seriously injure us, or possibly de-limb one of us.
00:33:39So, it's gonna be my job to lasso this sucker, get it around his mouth.
00:33:44He will get up to the shore, and fight, and death roll, and go crazy.
00:33:48And then Tori can give a knife chop to the back of the head.
00:33:51I've got mixed emotions on this.
00:33:53I'm super excited, because, like, this is gonna be awesome, like, to live, to tell a story,
00:33:58you know.
00:33:59But also nervous, because I like my arms.
00:34:02I'm pretty attached to them, or my feet.
00:34:04And, uh, I would hate for anyone to get hurt, um, doing this.
00:34:09So, you see him?
00:34:10See the little head sticking up there?
00:34:12Yeah.
00:34:13It's there.
00:34:14It's there.
00:34:14I can see him.
00:34:15You can barely see him.
00:34:16He's slowly coming up.
00:34:17See him?
00:34:18All right.
00:34:23Oh, okay.
00:34:23Yeah, let that line all the way go.
00:34:25Okay, sorry.
00:34:25Yeah, don't try to hang on to it.
00:34:26The anticipation.
00:34:28All right, this is the one.
00:34:30Okay.
00:34:31And just ease it, ease it into them.
00:34:34Okay.
00:34:35It's on his back right now.
00:34:40Then you'll feel tension.
00:34:41I feel tension.
00:34:42And then jerk damn hard and hold on like hell.
00:34:44Kind of jerk down.
00:34:45Yep.
00:34:47Woo!
00:34:48Oh, my God!
00:34:49There we go!
00:34:50All right, guys, work around this way.
00:34:52And, uh, walk carefully, walk carefully.
00:34:54Yeah.
00:34:54You got a good hook set.
00:34:55It's not coming out.
00:34:57It's not coming out.
00:34:57I'm gonna cover your back here in case he comes at us.
00:35:00Yep.
00:35:00Let him run a little bit.
00:35:01Let him run a little bit out.
00:35:02Yep.
00:35:03Let you get that string.
00:35:04Yep, let him run just a little bit out.
00:35:06Yep, let some slack out.
00:35:07Yep, let a little slack.
00:35:07Okay, sorry, sorry.
00:35:08And just let it pull out this way a little bit so you can get him around this stump.
00:35:11Don't let him pull you into water.
00:35:13Oh, my gosh.
00:35:14All right, pull hard a little bit.
00:35:17Hold him right there.
00:35:18Hold him right there for a second.
00:35:20I'm going in.
00:35:22He just hooked into a dinosaur.
00:35:24Oh, my gosh.
00:35:31Hold him right there.
00:35:32Hold him right there for a second.
00:35:35Woo!
00:35:36He just hooked into a dinosaur.
00:35:37Oh, my gosh.
00:35:39I can feel the rope just burning blisters in my hands, and I will not let go.
00:35:43We're only 10, 15 foot from him, and gators can run in a short burst 35 miles per hour.
00:35:48What we want to do is tire him out a little bit.
00:35:50The more we can tire him out right now, less problems we have on land.
00:35:55Yeah.
00:35:55This is an extremely dangerous situation, and it just takes a second for something bad
00:36:00to go wrong.
00:36:01Let's pull him a little bit more this way.
00:36:06Come on.
00:36:07Oh!
00:36:08There we go.
00:36:08Pull him up.
00:36:08Pull, pull.
00:36:10Oh, no.
00:36:11Pull, pull, pull.
00:36:14Okay, death roll time.
00:36:15Okay.
00:36:16All right.
00:36:16I'm going to get him prepped.
00:36:17Hold on.
00:36:19All right.
00:36:20Tie that up.
00:36:24I'm going to get a little couple half hitch on there.
00:36:29Here's the deal, Tori.
00:36:30All right.
00:36:30In one motion, you're going to jump up, knees on both his front legs.
00:36:34Both his front legs?
00:36:34And you're going to hold right behind his head.
00:36:36Okay.
00:36:39Yeah, girl.
00:36:40Nice.
00:36:41Woo!
00:36:42All right, I'm going to let him go.
00:36:43It's all yours.
00:36:44You're officially naked and afraid.
00:36:46Yeah.
00:36:47I'm sorry, baby.
00:36:49Thank you for your sacrifice.
00:36:52I'm so sorry, buddy.
00:36:53Yeah.
00:36:54I'm so sorry.
00:37:08I am feeling a lot of emotions of...
00:37:10You should be.
00:37:11It's a passionate thing.
00:37:13It still makes me get through that these days, so...
00:37:16We're not going to let you go to waste at all.
00:37:20Right now, I'm feeling the emotional part of it, of taking a life.
00:37:24I've not really done that before, especially in that way.
00:37:29You know, I've shot some animals growing up.
00:37:32But to stab it and be the one to fully put it to sleep, you know, that's...
00:37:38It's hitting me.
00:37:39But I'm still running on adrenaline right now.
00:37:42I mean, it broke my heart.
00:37:44But this means that we're going to have food.
00:37:46We can have breakfast and jerky throughout the day and stuff.
00:37:50And know that we're going to be good while we're fighting all the other elements that are going to be...
00:37:54That are already wearing us down.
00:37:56Your hook set was money.
00:37:58I mean, what it does.
00:38:00Come here.
00:38:01Bring it in here.
00:38:03Oh, man.
00:38:04Seriously.
00:38:05Great job.
00:38:06Awesome.
00:38:07Awesome.
00:38:08That will be blood brothers and sisters for the rest of our lives.
00:38:11Yep.
00:38:12There's no turning back?
00:38:13No.
00:38:14We've gone sad.
00:38:14No, this is it.
00:38:16Tori has definitely impressed me every bit of these last three days.
00:38:19It is absolutely incredible to watch her come from essentially novice and really embracing her true survival warrior.
00:38:29She refuses to give up and refuses to let fear overtake what needs to be done.
00:38:34And so she's definitely impressive.
00:38:35All right.
00:38:36Let's bring this up here.
00:38:37We'll get it processed up.
00:38:38Yep.
00:38:39Get it out of the heat.
00:38:40We've got to process it and get it on smoke as fast as possible because this heat and humidity, it'll
00:38:48spoil that meat, you know, within six hours or something like that.
00:38:52I started constructing the smoker.
00:38:55I'm going to tie this up with some of the paracord that we have.
00:38:58We'll basically make like little grills, little grates that we'll hang all that meat on.
00:39:03We'll just cover this whole thing with palm prawns, circle it, have a small fire on the bottom.
00:39:09You want it to just be smoldering all day long, smoking it and curing it.
00:39:13It preserves it for a long time to where we can eat it for a couple of weeks.
00:39:17How long does it usually take to smoke it?
00:39:19It'll be a couple of days on the jerky.
00:39:21Oh, wow.
00:39:22Out here.
00:39:23So just for the next couple of days, we just got to make sure it's constantly smoking.
00:39:27Keep it smoldering, yep.
00:39:29We've got a buzzard circle of this.
00:39:30There's like four of them.
00:39:33You know, when you get birds of prey or scavenger animals like that, they're basically like a flashing beacon saying
00:39:39that there's meat over here.
00:39:40Potential for something to come into camp to get that meat is very high.
00:39:43We're definitely going to have to keep our eyes out for the Florida panther and all the bears around here.
00:39:51It's the buzzards.
00:39:52They've been trying to come around to get our, um, some of the meat that we've hung up.
00:39:56Hey, y'all.
00:39:57Y'all get in my .
00:39:59Get!
00:40:01Get!
00:40:03No one's going to steal that huge rack of ribs right there.
00:40:18We're going to start a little special cooking.
00:40:21A little bit of them swamp gator bites.
00:40:23I collected a good solid 10 pounds of fat.
00:40:27This fat's rendered down in this pot and I now have a ultimate chef feast with this hot oil and
00:40:34anything I drop in there is delicious.
00:40:53Oh my gosh.
00:40:55It looks amazing.
00:40:57Oh, I want that piece.
00:40:58That piece looks good.
00:41:01I am so ready to chow down and just get a little fat and happy.
00:41:05Ugh.
00:41:06I mean, it really smells like fried chicken.
00:41:14Oh my gosh.
00:41:15Oh my gosh, here.
00:41:16It's got some salt flavor to it.
00:41:18It's so good.
00:41:20Well done, dude.
00:41:22Yeah.
00:41:22Well done.
00:41:23Awesome.
00:41:23Thank you for cutting all this up, too.
00:41:50What's that sound?
00:41:58That's crazy.
00:42:00That was something big.
00:42:01Yeah, I don't know.
00:42:02It was definitely, I think it brought me a bear.
00:42:05But if it was, why did you find a tree?
00:42:07But there was, see, there was a second one
00:42:09that went through the grass over here.
00:42:12I hate to think a mother bear with cubs.
00:42:15What?
00:42:15A mother bear with cubs?
00:42:17Bad news bears.
00:42:18They're like, you could even be sitting up this tree.
00:42:21All that damn noise there was.
00:42:23It's up the tree right now, and it's holding on,
00:42:25just looking at us.
00:42:27You know, if they were going to be like, shh, shh, shh.
00:42:41Get out of here, bear.
00:42:43Hey.
00:42:46Took off running, boy.
00:42:48Yeah.
00:42:49Whatever made all that noise, it disappeared.
00:42:52Someone's trying to take our damn food out here.
00:42:55Most of what we can do, can't put all our jerky up here
00:42:58right now.
00:42:59So the best we can do is try to keep some of these bigger slabs
00:43:02and whatever's out there.
00:43:05It could be a bear.
00:43:05It could be anything.
00:43:07It wants our jerky.
00:43:09We're just going to have to stay vigilant.
00:43:30We might have been robbed by whatever was in our camp last night.
00:43:34We had two rack of ribs lying up in that tree.
00:43:38They're all gone.
00:43:40Right now, I am finishing up the cooking of this absolutely gourmet-looking meal.
00:43:47There's some tongue, jelly roll, alligator leg.
00:43:50Right now, it smells like we are opened up a barbecue joint.
00:43:54And we have now become bear snacks.
00:43:56So you have to cook what you can, eat what you can, as fast as possible.
00:44:00So we are meat eating like a son of a bitch.
00:44:04Got me.
00:44:05Oh my gosh.
00:44:07That sucker looks cooked to perfection.
00:44:09I mean, look at that.
00:44:10This is the jelly roll.
00:44:11This is the jelly roll.
00:44:14Oh yeah.
00:44:15Smoked, smoked skin, smoked skin on the outside.
00:44:18We have a lot of meat that we have to eat.
00:44:22And then we have to eat some more of it.
00:44:24Bonafide gator leg right here.
00:44:28Reminds me of turkey leg.
00:44:31Oh yeah.
00:44:34That's it.
00:44:35That's it.
00:44:44So we are standing outside our camp, our tent.
00:44:47Because we are getting eat up by these micro ants.
00:44:53Yeah.
00:44:53It's seriously like a Yellow Jacket scene.
00:44:56Yeah, it is.
00:44:57I mean, we just want to lay down, but we put ash on it.
00:45:00And then stacked palm fronds up even more.
00:45:04Thought we had burned them all out.
00:45:06We don't even want to be in.
00:45:07Even though we got a beautiful fire there.
00:45:09We have our beautiful fire here.
00:45:11It's like they just came all back in.
00:45:12You know it's a situation when you hope a bear might come and maw you to get you away from
00:45:16these ants.
00:45:17They're little hell ants.
00:45:19Devil's rejects or something.
00:45:21The mosquito population has just increased by tenfold.
00:45:24Oh my God, dude.
00:45:26We're just being absolutely tore down.
00:45:29It's insane.
00:45:41Last night was pretty brutal.
00:45:43Yeah.
00:45:44The mosquitoes are getting progressively thicker and thicker.
00:45:47Yeah, they're definitely starting to make their appearance.
00:45:52The lack of sleep I can tell is catching up to me.
00:45:55And then, of course, the millions of bug bites that is just riddled across my entire skin.
00:45:59And the insane itching from my ankles to my knees.
00:46:03And you scratch one spot, then also another spot will start itching.
00:46:07Your eyes don't look like they're red as hell.
00:46:09Well, yeah, if you had 15 gnats per hour dive-bombing into them.
00:46:14Yeah.
00:46:16The bugs here are unbelievable.
00:46:19They're just going berserk.
00:46:21And it's to the point to where it's really driving me crazy.
00:46:25Kind of giving me quite a bit of aggravation.
00:46:28Because there is just no moment of reprieve out here.
00:46:32It's just, it's wearing on me.
00:46:33And it's wore me thin.
00:46:35And really, I'm, I'm praying for some relief.
00:46:38Like, I'm just sitting here constantly going in my ears and my eyes.
00:46:42It's just so annoying.
00:46:44I'd pray for 10 days of rain for, to not have this.
00:46:49Cole has taken the bugs and the elements and is getting that to his head.
00:46:54And this has happened before, you know, on his last XL.
00:46:58This is brutal here.
00:47:02I'm over this for sure.
00:47:04That desperation, that moment of mental weakness is hard to see.
00:47:08But it's one of those that could send you home real early.
00:47:12Dude.
00:47:13Are we going to have like one day without flies?
00:47:17Oh, definitely not.
00:47:19God damn.
00:47:21It's just so annoying.
00:47:25Here we go.
00:47:27You do that six, eight hours.
00:47:30Good to go.
00:47:31It's going to break off.
00:47:32Just hit us in the face.
00:47:33Totally fine.
00:47:34Stupid dude.
00:47:36Everything's fine.
00:47:37it.
00:47:38I'm not going to do this.
00:47:40Damn the bugs.
00:47:42God.
00:47:43This ain't worth the pain.
00:47:47I've seen this happen before, where I'm hoping he pulls through it.
00:47:51But if he doesn't, he's going to immediately spiral down.
00:47:54And it's going to wreck his momentum of any kind.
00:47:57It's a tough place to live.
00:47:59Yep.
00:47:59We can't lose him.
00:48:01Damn it.
00:48:08Damn the bugs.
00:48:09God.
00:48:11Getting through such a place of hell, you know.
00:48:16It's a place of beauty, but at the same time there's hidden hell throughout it.
00:48:21And I just, you know, taking a walk or going somewhere quiet is always what I need.
00:48:31You all right?
00:48:34Man, I'm pretty depressed here.
00:48:38Cole's having a tough time.
00:48:39I mean, everyone's going to lose their cool at some point.
00:48:43This place is not easy.
00:48:45It's work every single day, and it's a challenge.
00:48:49But I hope Cole can get through it.
00:48:53So what you're saying is that walk didn't exactly make you feel better about it?
00:48:58No.
00:48:59That's a shame.
00:49:01There ain't much that's going to help my morale right now.
00:49:05Cole right now has been in a slump.
00:49:08This place is getting to him.
00:49:10It's tough to watch, because I've seen other partners get that before.
00:49:13But I came out here to empower.
00:49:16I have to remember, this is my challenge to come in and make them thrive on theirs.
00:49:35Where's my bow at?
00:49:37I'm going to get Cole over here.
00:49:39See if I can't get Cole on a pig.
00:49:48I'm just going to take it slow.
00:49:53I see one.
00:49:54Yep.
00:49:55Hi, yep.
00:49:55Right there.
00:49:57They're right here in front of me.
00:49:58I can see them.
00:50:03All moving to the right.
00:50:12I can see them.
00:50:14Okay.
00:50:15Okay.
00:50:15Okay.
00:50:16Hey, yeah.
00:50:16I can see them.
00:50:17I can see them.
00:50:17I can see them.
00:50:19I can see them.
00:50:20Stop right here.
00:50:48Oh, hold on.
00:50:50Oh, get, whoa.
00:50:52OK, you got it, you got it, you got it.
00:50:57I see a shot just down.
00:50:59Yeah, it was over here.
00:51:00Just down to the right, right here.
00:51:01Yeah, I feel like you went that way.
00:51:03Oh, there's blood right here.
00:51:04Just blood.
00:51:04Oh, yeah.
00:51:05There ain't no denying that shot.
00:51:08I mean, lay out the red carpet, baby.
00:51:10Oh, look at this, it is.
00:51:12This is essentially the line to the dinner buffet.
00:51:15He circled back, I heard him.
00:51:17Right there, yeah.
00:51:18Wow.
00:51:19Over here, there he is, buddy.
00:51:20There he is.
00:51:21Oh, nice, man.
00:51:23Nice.
00:51:25Tough damn animal, buddy.
00:51:27There we go.
00:51:30Nice job.
00:51:32Thank you, buddy.
00:51:35So appreciate this.
00:51:38Just can't help but on a moment like this to get emotional
00:51:41because something has to die for us to be able to live.
00:51:45Unfortunately, today, it was the pig's life
00:51:47that it was taken.
00:51:49I'm so grateful to be able to feed my partners, you know,
00:51:54with such a great little animal.
00:51:56Thank you, buddy.
00:51:57And this is an important thing.
00:51:59This is first pig on a challenge.
00:52:01Fantastic thing for not just our survival,
00:52:04but your survival mindset.
00:52:06It's awesome to be out here with them.
00:52:09The sky's the limit.
00:52:09All right, buddy.
00:52:10That's us.
00:52:12Let's string it up on a pole here.
00:52:17Can't help but think that this land has just completely
00:52:20blessed us.
00:52:20Yeah.
00:52:21It's guarded by those bugs and the storms
00:52:24and the weather, all that, but it's definitely blessed us.
00:52:27Yeah.
00:52:32Anybody home?
00:52:33Yes.
00:52:36Did you order some bacon or what?
00:52:39We're having bacon.
00:52:41Oh, my gosh.
00:52:43I'm happy for you, Cole.
00:52:45I'm glad he got himself together.
00:52:47He just needed to go blow off some steam.
00:52:49And what better way to do that than to hunt a pig?
00:52:53We do a lot of processing at Camp Survival.
00:52:57Camp Sir Thrival.
00:52:58Sir Thrival.
00:52:59We are thriving out here.
00:53:04You want to take a little bite?
00:53:06Heck yeah.
00:53:10Oh, that's hot.
00:53:12Look at the juice coming out of this.
00:53:14Yeah.
00:53:15I came out here because I wanted to showcase my abilities.
00:53:19I wanted to showcase my mental fortitude.
00:53:22These challenges are always about building
00:53:24a better person in my eyes.
00:53:26And I'm super excited to go forward in this challenge
00:53:30because I think the second half is going
00:53:32to be the better half of this challenge.
00:53:36Ain't nothing wrong with that.
00:53:39Cheers.
00:53:41Oh, my God, it's good.
00:53:43Super juicy, too.
00:53:45Mm-hmm.
00:53:46I know, like, they are the hunters,
00:53:48but I want to be able to provide the way they're providing
00:53:52for me.
00:53:53I am that person that wants to, yeah, give me that bow.
00:53:58Show me.
00:53:58I'll shoot it, you know?
00:53:59I want that feeling of giving to them.
00:54:03Liver and heart are the most nutritional piece
00:54:06of every animal.
00:54:09Pound for pound, they pack the most nutrients.
00:54:13So if you're ever on one of these, make sure you eat it.
00:54:28Cole, can I pull your bow?
00:54:30Yep.
00:54:31I would love to, like, kill something with it,
00:54:33but I got to practice shooting it.
00:54:36So a little target practice.
00:54:38Yeah, let's do it.
00:54:39I'll put up a couple orange peels.
00:54:42Make yourself a little shooting range.
00:54:44First few shots are going to be pretty close
00:54:46because you're not going crazy.
00:54:47So you're just going to, we'll just stand over here
00:54:49and we'll shoot a couple into this hill.
00:54:50Should stay there.
00:54:51I would like to be able to get some practice in
00:54:55with the bow and arrow and see if I could possibly come up
00:54:58with a rabbit or some other small game by the end of my 21 days.
00:55:02I shot a bow when I was a kid, but I haven't done it
00:55:05in at least 23 years.
00:55:07It brings back my childhood memories
00:55:08and just want to see if I still have it.
00:55:11It is kind of tuned for three fingers under.
00:55:15It probably doesn't make a ton of difference,
00:55:18but it just, yeah, it just gets you a little more in line
00:55:22with that arrow whenever you anchor.
00:55:24So maybe your three fingers would be my four fingers?
00:55:27If Tori wants to take my bow and try to have that opportunity,
00:55:31why not let her and go?
00:55:33And that's just going to boost her morale
00:55:35and just, you know, boost the whole camp up.
00:55:38A little bit of practice and stuff,
00:55:40and she's going to be right there killing stuff
00:55:43just like Matt and I.
00:55:48Nailed it.
00:55:50What do you even need practice for?
00:55:51I got it.
00:55:52Got it.
00:55:55Maybe move back just a little bit?
00:55:58Let's extend it out a little bit.
00:55:59OK.
00:56:03Pretty good.
00:56:08Lean forward slightly.
00:56:10Don't lean back and lean forward
00:56:11like you're going to attack it.
00:56:14Oh, not bad.
00:56:20Sweet.
00:56:20All right.
00:56:21Oh.
00:56:23Gee.
00:56:23OK.
00:56:25Yeah.
00:56:27Not bad.
00:56:28I stayed all within a clump, so I
00:56:30was pretty impressed with myself.
00:56:32I want to be able to use that skill
00:56:34and be able to take down a kill that I can then present
00:56:38to Cole and Matt and say, like, I provided this for y'all.
00:56:41I'm pretty stoked inside right now.
00:56:53Oh, it's definitely going to rain.
00:56:58Yep.
00:56:59Son of a bitch.
00:57:04Oh, it's actually ready.
00:57:14Welcome to the Everglades.
00:57:16If we're not going to bite you, we're going to wash you out.
00:57:19I really hope this doesn't continue on
00:57:21throughout the night, because that's going
00:57:22to be absolutely miserable.
00:57:27It actually does rain in hell.
00:57:30Look.
00:57:34We got a bit of a lake.
00:57:36We got a big front view out there.
00:57:38Our fire is just elevated enough.
00:57:40It's not washing it out, but it's flowing right past it.
00:57:45If this lasts, you know, all night long,
00:57:48or even until into tomorrow, we'll be wet and miserable.
00:58:01Well, we're trying to keep our fire going.
00:58:03The rain is for sure coming down.
00:58:05Oh, sniky.
00:58:09Oh, when it blows in here, it gets, that is cold on the naked body.
00:58:16I really hope this does not go on all night, so we shall see.
00:58:21We'll be back in here.
00:58:24Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo.
00:58:25That's what's all going to track the other way.
00:58:27Yeah.
00:58:28Weathering out the storm.
00:58:30It's getting bad.
00:58:31The wind is picking up.
00:58:32Well, if you can hear the thunder in the background,
00:58:35we're all huddled up here in the shelter.
00:58:37Everglades don't play easily.
00:58:39No.
00:58:40These storms have potential to get very, very bad.
00:58:52The best we could do is try to keep things as warm as possible,
00:58:55keep this fire going,
00:58:57but never know how long these rainstorms are going to last.
00:59:00So, Tori's stocking it up with some wood.
00:59:02We'll probably need to put a palm on it.
00:59:07Just a classic day over here in the Everglades.
00:59:18We've cleared off the back end of our shelter.
00:59:21Might be hard to see, but we've closed up most of that section
00:59:25to help with the wind coming in.
00:59:29And now we wait for this to hit us.
00:59:34Hunker down in the rain.
00:59:37Absolute craft for weather.
00:59:51Yeah, that was a heck of a good storm.
00:59:53Yeah.
00:59:54A lot of the pig jerky's rotting just from the humidity out here.
01:00:01Too humid, too wet.
01:00:03No way to preserve food whenever the air is thicker than water.
01:00:09Jerky's running low, and unfortunately, we have everything battling against us.
01:00:14The humidity, the heat, all those things have ruined this meat.
01:00:19And it's to the point to where it's time to go hunting.
01:00:23Do you see this?
01:00:25There's a tail drag right here.
01:00:29Interesting.
01:00:32It's a tail drag.
01:00:35If he came from here, then he might be in this pond back here.
01:00:39He might have come back to our pond.
01:00:40Yeah.
01:00:42It is pushing towards the direction we're going, I think,
01:00:45because there's a leaf kind of pushed up in a mound there,
01:00:48like it's kind of pushed this direction.
01:00:49Like it's dragging.
01:00:50It's hard to tell.
01:00:52Good little tail drag.
01:00:55This whole trail has got some grass that's laid down.
01:00:58You can see this grass here?
01:00:59It's been kind of laid down.
01:01:01Because of that, I think this alligator may have come this way.
01:01:05You can't really track them with this grass.
01:01:09Oh, .
01:01:10Oh, my gosh.
01:01:10Oh, my gosh.
01:01:11Oh, .
01:01:12Oh, .
01:01:14We got to keep him away from the water right here.
01:01:16We got about a five and a half, six-foot gator.
01:01:18Oh, .
01:01:20He's already pissed off.
01:01:23Oh.
01:01:25Bring him here.
01:01:26All right, I'm going to keep him looking at me, guys.
01:01:28Come here, Tori.
01:01:29Grab the tail.
01:01:30Oh, .
01:01:31God.
01:01:32Whoo.
01:01:33Let's go.
01:01:34That's your arm, dude.
01:01:35Let's go.
01:01:36You better be careful.
01:01:37Let's go.
01:01:39All right, do it.
01:01:40Do it, Cole.
01:01:41Oh, .
01:01:43All right, get it, get it, get it.
01:01:44Oh, got it.
01:01:46Whoo!
01:01:48All right, dude.
01:01:51My man.
01:01:52Oh, my gosh, man.
01:01:53Oh, my gosh.
01:01:54Oh, that was intense.
01:01:56Oh, man.
01:01:57One and done.
01:01:58Good job, tail girl.
01:02:00Oh, yeah.
01:02:01I have now jumped on the back of a gator.
01:02:03I have caught snakes with my bare hands.
01:02:06And pulled the tail of a gator.
01:02:09So I am turning into just this wild, wild woman.
01:02:13And I really like her.
01:02:15What's up, buddy?
01:02:16Oh, yeah.
01:02:18Oh, we doing this again?
01:02:19Get over here.
01:02:20It always happens.
01:02:21It always happens.
01:02:23Let's go.
01:02:24We eat another day.
01:02:26Now the work begins.
01:02:28Time to go back, get this dude all cleaned up,
01:02:31and put it on the grill.
01:02:41It's going to be good.
01:02:44And this is the gator bites themselves going in.
01:02:47Before it was the gator fat to render down to make the oil.
01:02:51Now this is the actual meat that's going in here
01:02:55to make the proper gator bite.
01:02:56All right, catching alligators dangerous.
01:02:59Cooking with oil, butt naked, very dangerous.
01:03:05All right.
01:03:07I came out here with a goal to keep fat and happy.
01:03:10And I think that's exactly what's happened.
01:03:13Gator tail.
01:03:18Mm.
01:03:19It's delicious.
01:03:24Come on now.
01:03:25All right.
01:03:26So good.
01:03:27At this point, I mean, we're going
01:03:28to be jogging to the finish line to be extracted.
01:03:33And I didn't intend to come here and gain weight, but.
01:03:36But you're not going to lose a lot.
01:03:38I'm not losing what I was expecting to be losing.
01:03:41No.
01:03:41Now I'm just going to have to go home and lose it on my own,
01:03:44and that's really tough.
01:03:46Fantastic.
01:03:47It is fantastic.
01:04:02I'm going to have to do a firewood run so we don't
01:04:15get caught with our pants down.
01:04:20Not that much again, we'll get the firewood.
01:04:22Yeah.
01:04:32Damn.
01:04:33Oh, oh, , I just .
01:04:35I just felt .
01:04:36Call a medic.
01:04:37Call a medic.
01:04:58We'll see you next time.
01:05:09All right, goddammit, it's the middle of a rainstorm here, we've been trying to stay warm, we've been chopping wood
01:05:15as fast as we can, and unfortunately Cole right now just cut the hell out of himself.
01:05:26Howdy.
01:05:28Give me some. I just need light.
01:05:30Please provide this oil open right here.
01:05:34All right, let me wash it out.
01:05:37I was trying to cut up some firewood just to kind of get prepped for the night and shallow cut
01:05:43on the wood and it slipped and right up to my other hand.
01:05:47Just stupid little mistake, man. That's how fast it can happen.
01:05:50I'm gonna bandage you up really, really good.
01:05:53Okay.
01:05:53And we're gonna go from there.
01:05:55I'm pretty good.
01:05:55If this was anywhere else, yeah, but the way that it's looking for me right now, I'm okay with it.
01:06:01Yeah.
01:06:01Putting some bandages on it.
01:06:03You know, this is a great example of what can happen and, you know, little things like this could take
01:06:09somebody out of the challenge.
01:06:10Hopefully everything heals good and no infection.
01:06:14So fingers crossed that, uh, not much pain comes from it and, uh, quick recovery.
01:06:30That was proper Everglades, you know, unleashing hell on us right there.
01:06:34Yeah.
01:06:36And I, surprisingly, I slept one of the best nights so far.
01:06:39Yeah.
01:06:39Even with my finger jacked up, I, I, I did sleep really good.
01:06:43I've cut my hand really bad.
01:06:45It definitely sucks.
01:06:47At this point, um, I think, uh, the hunting is, is done for me.
01:06:51With my hand in the shape that it is, I don't think that it's wise for me to get out
01:06:55there and really, you know, really put myself through the paces like I was before.
01:06:59I think I could still shoot the bow, um, but, um, it's time to just hunker down in the shelter
01:07:05and, and lick my wounds.
01:07:07Uh, yeah, I'm a firewood getter today and, uh, you know, if you guys want to use the bow at
01:07:12any point or whatever, have at it.
01:07:14Yeah, appreciate it.
01:07:17I think it's time we go for a hunt.
01:07:19Good luck.
01:07:20Thank you, yeah.
01:07:21Keep the fort locked down, Cole.
01:07:23All right, Cole, buddy.
01:07:24We'll see you in a bit.
01:07:25Get us some meat.
01:07:26All right.
01:07:26I've been hunting my entire life and I could sit here and tell you how bad it sucks.
01:07:31Not to be funny, but Tori's super excited to be a hunter and possibly get an opportunity to bring in
01:07:38a rabbit or something like that.
01:07:40Um, you can tell she wants to learn and it's really cool to see her evolve from even day one
01:07:46till where we are today.
01:07:52Oh, wait a minute.
01:07:54Right there.
01:07:55The armadillo.
01:07:56Yeah.
01:07:57It's an armadillo.
01:07:59Yeah.
01:08:01It's an armadillo.
01:08:01Super, super, super slow, okay?
01:08:11Very good.
01:08:15He's gonna be coming to the left of you so walk left a little bit.
01:08:24Okay.
01:08:32That was super close.
01:08:35Super close.
01:08:36Toria's got a shot glanced off at the top of an armadillo shell.
01:08:39I've got to be able to get to where I can pull that bow back a little bit more if
01:08:42I'm
01:08:42going to go through that armadillo shell.
01:08:43So if you don't become savage overnight, you've got to just keep working.
01:08:49Number one rule to being a hunter is even if you do miss, you know, just never admit
01:08:53it.
01:09:07Maybe we can catch a squirrel or a rabbit with a bow, so I'm going to bring the knife
01:09:11and...
01:09:11Yeah, let's hunt it up.
01:09:13I know this is my last opportunity to be able to go out and kill something with the bow
01:09:18and be able to bring back food for the guys and myself and have that final meal.
01:09:23It's a lot of pressure, but I know that I'm capable of coming out here and doing this.
01:09:41I see him right there.
01:09:45You should be able to go just a little closer, but don't go directly at him.
01:09:50Just go look that side.
01:09:59You got it.
01:10:00You got it.
01:10:00You hit his leg.
01:10:01There it is.
01:10:02There it is.
01:10:02There it is.
01:10:03Okay.
01:10:03You got it.
01:10:04You got it.
01:10:04You got it.
01:10:04You got it.
01:10:04You got it.
01:10:05You got it.
01:10:15You got it.
01:10:19You got it.
01:10:19You got it.
01:10:23You got it.
01:10:24We need the little owl.
01:10:25I want to do it.
01:10:44Our home has been christened.
01:10:46Awesome.
01:10:46That is so cool.
01:10:48We're literally catching food to feed our pet.
01:10:52Put that on.
01:10:52For real.
01:10:53That's some people would be eating on this challenge,
01:10:56and we're feeding it to our pet owl.
01:10:59Oh, that's hilarious.
01:11:04It won't go far.
01:11:05You hit it good.
01:11:08Gosh.
01:11:09All right, there it is.
01:11:09There it is.
01:11:10There it is.
01:11:13Hang on.
01:11:14Hang on.
01:11:16I see him.
01:11:22Oh, .
01:11:29I know, baby.
01:11:31I'm sorry.
01:11:32I'm sorry.
01:11:35You're in no pain now.
01:11:38Whew, god dang.
01:11:44I'm sorry.
01:11:47I knew that shot.
01:11:48I took off its back leg.
01:11:49I was not letting this one get away and be maimed and lost in the brush, so we barreled through
01:11:56it.
01:11:59Taking a life is not easy.
01:12:01I don't think that's something I will ever get used to, but I feel like it's something that I need
01:12:06to do.
01:12:07Because you can't just keep eating food at your table and not really know what it truly takes for it
01:12:14to be there.
01:12:16This rabbit will feed us today, all three of us.
01:12:20I'm proud of myself for going out and being able to come back with lunch and dinner for tonight.
01:12:33You got any carrots to go with this rabbit stew?
01:12:37Nice.
01:12:39Sweet.
01:12:40Tori, bring in a rabbit on the last full day of our challenge to get us through this brutal hike.
01:12:47I mean, you really can't ask for more in a partner, and I'm very proud of Tori.
01:12:54Congratulations.
01:12:55Good job.
01:12:57Way to follow through with it.
01:12:58I was not letting this one get away.
01:13:00And now you contributed with some protein on our very last day.
01:13:06Proud of you.
01:13:07Today you came through huge because you've been wanting to do that so bad.
01:13:11I wanted to be able to give back to y'all, you know, in that way.
01:13:16Well, you nailed it.
01:13:19We get to eat a rabbit stew today because of me, and it's going to feed us for this day
01:13:24that it's going to take us on and through extraction tomorrow.
01:13:28This has been a whirlwind of excitement and growth and challenges, and I wouldn't change
01:13:35it for anything.
01:13:36I'm ready for bunny heart, bunny kidneys.
01:13:40All right.
01:13:41So, the heart.
01:13:45Is it the heart?
01:13:46You sure?
01:13:46Yep.
01:13:47Oh, that is hot.
01:13:48Cheers.
01:13:49Cheers.
01:13:50My first bow kill.
01:13:52Thank you to the rabbit.
01:13:54Ooh.
01:13:55Delicious.
01:13:56Oh, that's nice.
01:13:58That's like buttery heart.
01:13:59That's good.
01:14:00That is super buttery.
01:14:01Fantastic.
01:14:02Delicious.
01:14:05Thank you very much.
01:14:05I'm glad I could give back to y'all.
01:14:06Camp Surthrival, we didn't just survive, we surthrived.
01:14:12We made something special here, guys.
01:14:20Wow.
01:14:22You guys, we are four hours away from day 21.
01:14:27Yes.
01:14:28Four hours.
01:14:29And tomorrow we exit this bitch.
01:14:33Yes.
01:14:34You guys want to stay a day long or anything?
01:14:36No.
01:14:36Hell no.
01:14:38No, I'm out.
01:14:43Extraction, here we come.
01:14:54Day 21.
01:14:55Day 21.
01:14:56Woo!
01:14:57Let's get the hell out of here.
01:14:59Yeah.
01:14:59Right now we're going into battle.
01:15:01No warrior goes into battle without their war paint.
01:15:04So I say we war paint it up.
01:15:05Tori, this is your first ever extraction and you're about to find out that the hardest
01:15:09part of the challenge is yet to come.
01:15:11Oh.
01:15:12As hard as it's going to be, I cannot wait to get to that finish line because it's going
01:15:17to be that final moment, that final rewarding feeling of knowing we did this.
01:15:24I know this hike is going to be hard, but we're going to get through it.
01:15:27I'm excited.
01:15:27So I'm about to get stepping.
01:15:30Oh!
01:15:32Yeah!
01:15:3321 days that has never gone out.
01:15:37This challenge is almost officially over.
01:15:40I'm so pumped it's not even funny, but I know it is not over yet.
01:15:45This is the most important part to get us to our extraction vehicle and we have a long
01:15:51way to go.
01:15:52All right.
01:15:52Well, let's take a look at that map.
01:15:55Okay.
01:15:56Kept it up in there.
01:15:57That's a lot of water between those two points.
01:16:00Here we are.
01:16:01These are our water holes that did us so well.
01:16:04Okay.
01:16:04We're going to take this peninsula out, head east.
01:16:06East.
01:16:07East.
01:16:07And our extraction is, of course, it's out in the swamp.
01:16:11It's...
01:16:12Yeah.
01:16:12There's a lot of water.
01:16:13Look at that.
01:16:13Look how much water is out there.
01:16:15Let's go get into it.
01:16:16Let's get it.
01:16:17Let's do it.
01:16:17Let's do it.
01:16:18Ah!
01:16:18Let's go.
01:16:20These extractions, they're not an easy task.
01:16:23This is going to be an all-day adventure through some of the toughest terrain out here.
01:16:26It is cranking hot to 105 degrees with humidity, and it's sucking every part of our life out
01:16:32of our body.
01:16:33This is a long walk.
01:16:35This thing is going through bushes, through the swamps.
01:16:38There's snakes at every turn.
01:16:39You see where alligators have bedded.
01:16:41And if we don't stay vigilant, if we don't stay strong, we might step on a snake, step on
01:16:45a gator.
01:16:46This extraction walk is absolutely up there with some of the toughest.
01:16:50Goodbye, Campster Thrival.
01:16:53That's how you thrive in hell right there.
01:16:55Oh, I'm already getting teary-eyed.
01:16:57You better save it for the hide, girl, because it's going to be rough.
01:17:04To get to their extraction point, six miles away, Matt, Tori, and Cole will have to navigate
01:17:11the dense Everglade forests, littered with thorns and territorial water moccasins, and trek
01:17:18through large swaths of six-foot-tall sawgrass and marshy swampland, flooded by recent
01:17:24rains, where 500-pound alligators wait for their next meal.
01:17:30It's freaking tight in here.
01:17:32Yeah, it's real tight.
01:17:33I hope my navigation skills are on point.
01:17:36This is a big area.
01:17:37It's wet.
01:17:38It's boggy.
01:17:39There's all the snakes, panthers, the alligators, you know, all the things that could harm us.
01:17:45It's imperative that we stick together and we work as a team, keep our heads on a swivel.
01:17:51Just one step at a time is going to get us that much closer to the extraction.
01:17:55I mean, it's so thick, it's hard to even tell which direction we're headed.
01:18:03Watch out for the briars.
01:18:06Oh, God.
01:18:08I'm going to stab you in the foot, in the face, in the...
01:18:11Oh, there we go.
01:18:13That's a thorn.
01:18:15Ow, mother.
01:18:17Oh, dadgummit.
01:18:18Oh, man.
01:18:19Damn, dude, the freaking thorns are no joke.
01:18:23Damn.
01:18:24Oh!
01:18:25That got me.
01:18:26It's one of those.
01:18:26Some of these thorns.
01:18:28That mother trucker.
01:18:29And a half inch long, inch long.
01:18:31Oh, it's in there good.
01:18:33Ugh.
01:18:34Good one.
01:18:35Thanks.
01:18:36This is borderline, back out and find somewhere different.
01:18:40We're in the thickness of it all, and it is just thorn after thorn and bush after bush
01:18:46that is just scratching us.
01:18:48This environment sucks, but I need to do whatever I can.
01:18:52Give everything I've got.
01:18:53Just get to the finish line.
01:18:56Don't start giving up yet.
01:18:59Ugh, dadgummit.
01:19:09Oh, yeah.
01:19:10It looks like we're coming out of this forested area.
01:19:14Looks like a straight swamp up here.
01:19:16Feel that heat coming forward here.
01:19:18Yeah.
01:19:19The hot ass wind.
01:19:21Absolutely radiating.
01:19:23It is beyond muggy right now.
01:19:25It is cranking.
01:19:28I mean, it's that thick air you could chew on it.
01:19:31Yeah.
01:19:32This is where I'm wanting to wish we had a little bit more of our water.
01:19:36Muggier than the devil's breath himself.
01:19:39People die in this kind of heat.
01:19:46Hey, watch out.
01:19:47Oh.
01:19:47Snake just took off right there.
01:19:49Oh.
01:19:50Oh.
01:19:50Oh.
01:19:51God dang, man.
01:19:53Yeah, you were really close.
01:19:58Keep your eyes peeled, y'all.
01:20:00We don't need a frickin' snake bite or a limb taken off by a damn alligator.
01:20:09All right, I think we're pretty much through it.
01:20:11Ow, ow.
01:20:15Dude, this has got to be it right here.
01:20:18We've got to be here.
01:20:20I mean, we came through all the way across the swamp.
01:20:23We stayed east.
01:20:24Yeah, look right here.
01:20:25Right there.
01:20:25That's our peninsula.
01:20:26And that peninsula takes off this way here.
01:20:29We've got to be right here on this map.
01:20:31We're so close.
01:20:32We're in the swamp.
01:20:33Listen.
01:20:33Absolutely.
01:20:34I can hear something coming.
01:20:39Right there.
01:20:40Oh.
01:20:40There we go.
01:20:42Yeah.
01:20:44Oh.
01:20:45Oh.
01:20:45Over there.
01:20:46Let's go.
01:20:47Let's go.
01:20:48Oh, my God.
01:20:50Oh.
01:20:50Crazy.
01:20:51Oh, my God.
01:20:51Look at this piece of a vehicle.
01:20:54Come on over.
01:20:54Oh.
01:20:56Oh.
01:20:57Things didn't go as planned in Columbia on my previous challenge.
01:21:00But this 21 days, I think it went exactly like I planned.
01:21:04Woo.
01:21:05Hell yeah, dude.
01:21:07Let's go.
01:21:08I just gained two friends for a lifetime.
01:21:12And it just, it makes me happy to spend this time with such great people.
01:21:19This is what I love.
01:21:20I love to come out here and do what I think is possible and have badass people along my side.
01:21:26But, you know, that hits me deep and, you know, and that's why, you know, that's why this challenge meant
01:21:33so much.
01:21:35Cole completes the challenge, shedding seven pounds, while his primitive survival rating jumps from 7.4 to 8.0.
01:21:44Let's get the hell out of here.
01:21:45Oh, my gosh.
01:21:48Head on in there, buddy.
01:21:51Woo!
01:21:54This is it.
01:21:55We made it.
01:21:56We made it.
01:21:57We made it.
01:21:58We made it.
01:21:58I am ecstatic.
01:22:00Day 21.
01:22:01I didn't think this day was going to get here.
01:22:03I'm trying not to cry, not from pain, but from growth and what I've seen in myself, finding another wonder
01:22:12woman deep inside of me.
01:22:13In 21 days, Tori lost 12 pounds.
01:22:18Her PSR rises from 6.7 to 7.1.
01:22:2321 days, Florida Everglades.
01:22:26Ha, ha, ha.
01:22:29That was an absolute incredible moment.
01:22:31I came out here with one goal in mind, and that is to help out two people survive in the
01:22:38Everglades, but not just survive, but thrive.
01:22:41And every bit of it was a challenge.
01:22:43This place was truly one of the hardest places to live, and the three of us did it in absolute
01:22:49style.
01:22:50Coming out here and watching them grow and thrive, eat every day.
01:22:55In 307 days, let's get 307 more.
01:22:58Stay Savage!
01:23:00With a total of 307 days under his belt, Matt lost 8 pounds.
01:23:07His PSR rises from 9.8 to 9.9.
01:23:16I'll never be the same after this.
01:23:18This was amazing.
01:23:20Life-changing challenge.
01:23:21Let's go!
01:23:37You're not going to fake it out here.
01:23:39Maybe I'm not a survivalist.
01:23:41Maybe I'm not supposed to be here.
01:23:43You got it or you don't.
01:23:48Let's go!
01:23:49Yay!
01:23:53This challenge is a whole new level.
01:23:55The very first no-tools challenge in making a different history.
01:23:58We're content creators, which means this may be the most inseparable episode yet.
01:24:03It's a snake.
01:24:06It's a leash!
01:24:08Ow!
01:24:09Medic!
01:24:09It's an absolute beast of a place out here.
01:24:16And you will see what you're made of.
01:24:18Oh my god!
01:24:19You're so full of .
01:24:20I'm not arguing with you no more.
01:24:22We're about to get downpoured on.
01:24:24My whole body is shutting down.
01:24:27Get the out of here.
01:24:30This is taking everything out of me.
01:24:32Are you kidding me?
01:24:34I can't back down now.
01:24:36I've got to keep going.
01:24:37It's time to nut up or shut up.
01:24:40There he is.
01:24:45Exciting!
01:24:47Go hard and go home.
01:24:49Oh!
01:24:49Oh!
