00:10And Cuban President Miguel Díaz Canero has rejected statements by U.S. Secretary of State
00:15Marco Rubio, who denied the existence of the oil blockade Washington maintains on the Caribbean
00:20Island. On his social media accounts, Díaz Canero emphasize, it is surprising that a senior U.S.
00:25government official would publicly state that his government is not imposing an energy blockade
00:29against Cuba and that he is unaware of the provisions of his own president's executive
00:34order issued on January 29th. It is surprising that he has not heard his president and the
00:38White House spokesperson address the issue. It is equally surprising that it blames the
00:42supposed incompetence of the Cubans for difficulties facing the economy, which the U.S. government
00:47itself has set out to destroy and continues to do so today, investing enormous resources
00:52and political capital to achieve it.
