00:00We've delivered things many people once said were impossible and we've done it
00:05in partnership, we've worked with people across the Assembly. I'm particularly
00:10pleased with the progress we've made on climate action. It's the reason I came
00:13here, it's the reason I'm in politics and the ACT is now recognised as a global
00:18leader on climate action. There's so many people out there working to make this city better and they really make
00:23this city tick and it's a
00:25privilege to work with them, to support them, to do things on their behalf and to
00:30understand why this city is such a good city. Community stakeholders, all those
00:36people in town who do so much to make this city a great place and finally of
00:42course the people in the former electorate of Molonglo and now the electorate of
00:45Caradhrunk who've elected me. Thank you, it's been a privilege.
01:06Mostly it's about knowing when your time comes. You know it is a tough role, it is
01:10wearying, you have to be able to give 110% and I can feel myself not quite having
01:15that 110% anymore and so it's important to see that in yourself. I think the
01:21danger in politics is sticking around too long and not knowing when to go.
01:24The members, especially with the last few months which has been referenced already,
01:30was there a degree of disquiet that lingered that might have not pushed you but
01:35helped you along in deciding to go? Not at all. Our party room has actually been
01:40incredibly united through this period. We worked very closely together on a lot of
01:44things including the discussions with the Liberal Party. As a team we were very clear
01:48in entering those discussions, in working through them and concluding they weren't
01:53the right direction for us. Look those conversations were really important to have.
01:57In politics I think it's important to be open-minded, to think about what the
02:01possibilities can be to not be stuck in our way. The challenges we face as a community
02:05are big and hard. If they were easy we would have all fixed them by now.
02:10Whether that's having conversations with different political parties or opening your
02:14mind to a policy you might not have thought of before and listening to other people.
02:17It's certainly not a contributing factor. As I said I've been thinking about this for
02:20some time. In terms of whether it will continue, well that'll be for my colleagues
02:23to think about but I think given recent conversations it's not a conversation that will happen.
02:29thing that will be necesario so it'll continue to distract them from other people so that
02:30Be careful.
02:30So because the balance here is well instead of avoiding.
02:33And it should come, but you know I'm willing to do it for that
02:33example in the, for that example.
02:34So overall it'll be too Obwohlah's way too late.
