00:00A 67-year-old woman was beaten and dragged by gunmen during a mid-morning home invasion in Benleman village,
00:07Williamsville, today.
00:08According to the woman's son, the family owns a tent and share rental business and around 10 a.m., a
00:14car pulled into their yard and one man exited pretending to want to rent some items from the woman.
00:21Moments later, three others exited the vehicle and at gunpoint took her inside and began demanding money.
00:27A minute later, they say a relative arrived home and they believe this caused the bandits to flee the scene,
00:33making off with only the elderly woman's phone.
00:38She was then taken to hospital for treatment. Two other women employees of the family were cleaning the home at
00:43the time. They were not harmed.
00:45A relative says they contacted police but they don't understand why during a state of emergency it took officers two
00:52hours to arrive when a quick response might have led to the bandits' capture.
00:58They started to talk to her story.
01:01Because you don't know, you don't know what could happen, you didn't know what if and what would be, that
01:06thing happened or whatever.
01:08But when they come, they come in a really evil and they live in a house and they don't care.
01:12I think just, when I think people at home watch they always be vigilant and honest.
01:20They don't come in a nice way and they come in the light.
01:23Thank you very much.
