00:01:21Well, saints, tonight we want to continue our fellowship concerning Noah.
00:01:27And the last two weeks we saw that Noah was a herald of righteousness
00:01:32and that we need to be the heirs of righteousness.
00:01:35Even I think, I hope all of us really appreciate last week's outline.
00:01:39That is something that you can study for at least a year, I feel.
00:01:45That is a panoramic view of the righteousness of God
00:01:48and how we can be the heirs of righteousness.
00:01:52This week, in this message, which we feel is a very critical message,
00:01:58we want to see how we can follow Noah's pattern to build the ark
00:02:05and to see the intrinsic significance of what it means to build the ark in this age.
00:02:11Of course, as we know, the general subject of this line of ministry
00:02:15is concerning Noah, Daniel, and Job.
00:02:18And we have seen that in Ezekiel 14, verses 14 and 20 of that chapter,
00:02:25it mentions these three persons, Noah, Daniel, and Job.
00:02:30The Lord says in His judgment on the apostate children of Israel
00:02:34that even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were there,
00:02:39He would still come in with His judgment in the whole situation.
00:02:45Which shows that in God's view, Noah, Daniel, and Job are particular people
00:02:50and particular patterns of how we should live an overcoming life
00:02:55on the line of life to fulfill the economy of God.
00:02:59We saw in particular that with Noah, with these three people,
00:03:03we see the experience and enjoyment of the dispensing triune God
00:03:09to build Himself into our being, to make us His corporate building,
00:03:13His testimony in this universe.
00:03:16With Noah, we see God the Father in His faithfulness.
00:03:20With Daniel, we see God the Son as the centrality and universality of God's move.
00:03:25And with Job, we see the experience of God as the transforming spirit,
00:03:31working in our environment of heat, pressure, suffering, and trial
00:03:36to work Himself into us so that we would not be good men,
00:03:41but we would be God men.
00:03:43Who are gaining God, who are filled with God,
00:03:46who are saturated with God, and who overflow with God to express God.
00:03:52Well, tonight we want to continue our fellowship concerning Noah.
00:03:55And as you can see, the title of this message is Building the Ark,
00:04:01which we want to see tonight, and this is kind of a unique way to term this,
00:04:08to build up the ark actually is to build up Christ.
00:04:12What are we doing here tonight?
00:04:15We are building up Christ.
00:04:17Building up Christ in what way?
00:04:19We can see from the title, it's to build up Christ in our experience.
00:04:25And to build up Christ in our experience is to build up the church.
00:04:29And as we build up the church, what we're doing,
00:04:33as we're experiencing Christ,
00:04:35as we're accumulating Christ in our being through the experience of Christ,
00:04:41He is being built up in our being.
00:04:44As He is increasing in our being,
00:04:46and being built up in our being,
00:04:49the church is being built up.
00:04:51We are growing with the growth of God.
00:04:53God, embodied in Christ and realized that the Spirit is growing within us.
00:04:59He's building Himself into us.
00:05:01He's increasing in us.
00:05:03And we are increasing and growing with the growth of the triune God in us.
00:05:10And of course, the triune God is Christ Himself.
00:05:13He is the embodiment of the triune God.
00:05:15God, as He is built into our being,
00:05:17as He grows in us,
00:05:19that growth is the growth of the body of Christ.
00:05:24And that growth of the body is the building up of the body.
00:05:27And our building up of the church as the body of Christ,
00:05:31we will see is by working out our own salvation.
00:05:35To build up Christ,
00:05:37now this is just an opening word,
00:05:38we will see this,
00:05:40I really trust in the outline as we read through this,
00:05:43as Christ is built up in our experience,
00:05:47what we are doing,
00:05:49and as we're building the church,
00:05:50and we're ministering Christ into one another,
00:05:54as the building and building God,
00:05:57so that Christ can work Himself,
00:05:59with all of His riches,
00:06:01into our being for God's corporate building in this universe.
00:06:05This is our working out our own salvation.
00:06:10Actually, we are building up our own salvation.
00:06:14By Noah building up the ark,
00:06:16he was building up his salvation.
00:06:19It's a great thing.
00:06:20So we want to be saved from this crooked and perverted generation.
00:06:25We want to be saved from all the things
00:06:29in the great tribulation.
00:06:31We know that the natural calamities in this world
00:06:34were increased and increased
00:06:36as the Lord's coming draws closer and closer.
00:06:39At the beginning of the great tribulation,
00:06:41according to the book of Revelation,
00:06:43that will be the beginning of supernatural calamities.
00:06:47And there will be an earthquake at that time
00:06:49that will be the greatest earthquake in human history.
00:06:53It says every island will move.
00:06:56Every mountain.
00:06:57You know, there was an island that moved.
00:07:00It was a great earthquake.
00:07:02But according to Revelation,
00:07:04you read,
00:07:04at the beginning of the great tribulation,
00:07:06it says every island will move.
00:07:09Every single island on this earth.
00:07:12That will be the beginning of supernatural calamities
00:07:15and the great tribulation.
00:07:17We want to be raptured before then.
00:07:21We are here to be Christ's overcoming bride.
00:07:25We want to be rescued out of that hour of trial.
00:07:29We want to be saved from this crooked and perverted generation.
00:07:33And we want to be ushered into a new age.
00:07:37That is the age of the millennial kingdom.
00:07:40And we will see something concerning that next week.
00:07:44Now,
00:07:45in this opening word,
00:07:46I would just like to say again,
00:07:48that in Matthew 24,
00:07:50when the Lord talks about His coming,
00:07:53He says,
00:07:54just as the days of Noah were,
00:07:56so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
00:08:00So as the Lord's coming gets closer and closer,
00:08:04we have to realize,
00:08:05and of course we have to have the consciousness,
00:08:07that just as it was in the days of Noah,
00:08:10it's just like that today,
00:08:12in principle,
00:08:13and in its intrinsic significance.
00:08:16The age that we're living in
00:08:18is just like the days of Noah.
00:08:21And what were the days of Noah characterized by?
00:08:25Well, of course,
00:08:27in Noah's day,
00:08:29of course,
00:08:29we know in Genesis 4,
00:08:31that,
00:08:32well,
00:08:33if you go back
00:08:34all the way to the beginning of man's fall,
00:08:37if you look at the notes in Genesis 6,
00:08:39in the recovery version,
00:08:41very,
00:08:42very precious notes.
00:08:43We can't cover everything,
00:08:45but we do feel that
00:08:46this particular word
00:08:48is the Lord's burden for us this evening.
00:08:51But if you look at the notes there,
00:08:53one of the notes points out that,
00:08:55you know,
00:08:56man,
00:08:56in his first fall,
00:08:58the basic reason for man's first fall
00:09:01was that he didn't exercise his spirit.
00:09:04You know,
00:09:04that is the source of our fall.
00:09:08Whenever we fall,
00:09:09whenever we,
00:09:10if we backslide,
00:09:12if we fall back,
00:09:13if we have a failure,
00:09:14if we get distracted,
00:09:15it's because we leave our spirit,
00:09:19it is a great thing,
00:09:21brothers and sisters,
00:09:22that we are under the ministry of the age
00:09:25that always ministers to us,
00:09:27we need to contact God in our spirit.
00:09:31We need to be spirit exercising people.
00:09:35Well,
00:09:35this was the reason for man's fall,
00:09:37basically,
00:09:38first of all,
00:09:39is he didn't exercise his spirit.
00:09:40Then in the second aspect of the fall with Abel,
00:09:44we see that what man did in the second fall
00:09:47was he over-exercised his soul.
00:09:50And because he over-exercised his soul,
00:09:53he invented a new religion.
00:09:56Religion comes out of the over-exercise of man's soul.
00:10:02And religion,
00:10:03of course,
00:10:03is to worship God,
00:10:05to serve God,
00:10:06and to do things for God,
00:10:08apart from God,
00:10:10in a godless way,
00:10:11in a Christless way.
00:10:13That is religion.
00:10:14So Abel,
00:10:15he invented a new religion,
00:10:19I'm sorry,
00:10:19not Abel,
00:10:20Cain.
00:10:21Cain invented,
00:10:22tried to invent a new religion,
00:10:23and what came out of Cain's rebellion
00:10:26in inventing a new religion
00:10:28was a godless culture.
00:10:31A godless culture.
00:10:33And we can see,
00:10:34when Cain rebelled against God,
00:10:37when he slew his brother,
00:10:39there is a very striking verse,
00:10:41which always touches me very deeply in Genesis 4.
00:10:46It says,
00:10:46Cain went forth from the presence of Jehovah.
00:10:51That word should,
00:10:53you know,
00:10:54brothers and sisters,
00:10:55there should be something in us.
00:10:57Lord,
00:10:57I pray I would never leave your presence.
00:11:01I like to exercise my spirit.
00:11:04I like to live in my spirit.
00:11:06The presence of the triune God
00:11:08is the spirit in our spirit.
00:11:11And we never want to leave his presence,
00:11:14his actual precious person,
00:11:18the actual present,
00:11:20real,
00:11:22practical Christ in our spirit.
00:11:24We treasure him.
00:11:26We never want to leave his presence.
00:11:29Well,
00:11:29Cain did this.
00:11:30He went forth from the presence of Jehovah.
00:11:33It says,
00:11:34he dwelt in the land of Nod,
00:11:37east of Eden.
00:11:39Nod is a locality that you do not want to dwell in.
00:11:43You do not want,
00:11:44if someone asks you where you live,
00:11:45you should not say,
00:11:46I live east of Eden.
00:11:48That is the worst place to be.
00:11:51The word Nod means wandering.
00:11:54When Cain left God's presence,
00:11:57he became a fugitive,
00:11:58and he became a wanderer.
00:12:01And this is what happens.
00:12:02When we don't,
00:12:04you know,
00:12:04we have to,
00:12:05the Lord is training us
00:12:06to exercise our spirit more and more,
00:12:09right?
00:12:09To remain in our spirit.
00:12:12To stay in our spirit.
00:12:13And to stay in the index of his eyes,
00:12:17right?
00:12:17To be,
00:12:18to live in his person.
00:12:21And to do everything in his face.
00:12:23In the index of his eyes.
00:12:26This is his presence.
00:12:27And we don't want to leave his presence.
00:12:30Even in our experience,
00:12:31whenever we neglect our spirit,
00:12:34whenever we don't use our spirit,
00:12:36whenever we over-exercise our soul,
00:12:38what happens?
00:12:39We become,
00:12:40we lose our compass,
00:12:42right?
00:12:43We become wanderers.
00:12:46Cain became a fugitive,
00:12:48a wanderer.
00:12:49And when you don't have God's presence,
00:12:50you have no goal,
00:12:52you have no home,
00:12:53you have no satisfaction,
00:12:55and you have no rest.
00:12:57There's no place on earth for you to go.
00:12:59No matter where you go,
00:13:01there's no goal,
00:13:02there's no home.
00:13:03There's no satisfaction,
00:13:05there's no rest.
00:13:07I remember just before I got saved,
00:13:12I was in Houston,
00:13:13I was working for a major oil company,
00:13:15and I'm so thankful that,
00:13:17like all of us,
00:13:19you know,
00:13:19the spirit was brooding over all of us
00:13:21to get us saved.
00:13:22And I remember thinking,
00:13:24you know,
00:13:25I wanted to move to,
00:13:26you know,
00:13:28I mean,
00:13:29I'm sorry,
00:13:29you know,
00:13:29I lived in Houston for a long time,
00:13:31but when you,
00:13:32if you didn't grow up in Houston,
00:13:33and you move to Houston in the summer,
00:13:36that is quite an experience.
00:13:39It's hot,
00:13:40it's humid,
00:13:43it looks like some of the bugs,
00:13:45you can put a saddle on them,
00:13:46they're so big,
00:13:47you know.
00:13:48I mean,
00:13:48you know,
00:13:49and I'm just like,
00:13:50you know,
00:13:50I went there for a job,
00:13:54and I was there,
00:13:55what am I doing here,
00:13:55maybe I should move someplace else,
00:13:59some nice place,
00:14:00like Seattle,
00:14:02is anybody here from Seattle?
00:14:05Isn't that a nice place here?
00:14:07But you love it here more,
00:14:09don't you?
00:14:11You know why?
00:14:12Because you care for the presence
00:14:14of the triune God.
00:14:16Listen,
00:14:17when I thought about doing that,
00:14:18I figured,
00:14:19listen,
00:14:19if I move,
00:14:20it's just going to be a nicer place
00:14:22to be unhappy.
00:14:24And that is true,
00:14:26that is true.
00:14:27If you have God,
00:14:30you have everything.
00:14:32It doesn't matter where you are.
00:14:34If you leave His presence,
00:14:37there's no goal,
00:14:38there's no satisfaction,
00:14:39there's no rest.
00:14:40And what comes out of that
00:14:41is a godless culture.
00:14:43So we can see in Genesis 4,
00:14:45when Cain went forth
00:14:46from the presence of Jehovah,
00:14:48what you had was a world system
00:14:50invented by Satan,
00:14:52came out of departing
00:14:55from the triune God's presence.
00:14:57And so what man did
00:14:58is he raised cattle
00:15:00for his existence,
00:15:01he made weapons
00:15:03for his self-defense,
00:15:05and he came up with
00:15:07all kinds of music
00:15:08for his amusement.
00:15:10So there's a godless culture,
00:15:12and this godless culture
00:15:14is, you know,
00:15:16man is just fully occupied
00:15:18with food and clothing
00:15:20and his existence
00:15:21for his self-nurture.
00:15:23He's fully occupied
00:15:24with weapons, right?
00:15:28For what?
00:15:29For self-defense.
00:15:30And he's fully occupied
00:15:32with amusement
00:15:35and the inventing
00:15:37of all kinds
00:15:39for his self-amusement.
00:15:41Everything is for the self.
00:15:43Self-existence,
00:15:45self-nurture,
00:15:46self-defense,
00:15:48and self-pleasure.
00:15:50Everything is focused
00:15:51on the self.
00:15:52This is the world.
00:15:53What is the world?
00:15:55The world is a system
00:15:56arranged by Satan
00:15:57to usurp man
00:16:00and to replace God.
00:16:02This is what Satan does.
00:16:04He has all kinds
00:16:05of departments
00:16:06in this world system
00:16:07to replace God
00:16:09in man's life.
00:16:11To cause man
00:16:12to disregard God,
00:16:13to cause man
00:16:14to neglect God,
00:16:16and to cause man
00:16:17to be removed from God.
00:16:19To be godless,
00:16:21to be Christless,
00:16:22to be independent
00:16:23from God.
00:16:24This is Satan's
00:16:25world system.
00:16:26So this came from
00:16:27the over-exercise
00:16:29of man's soul.
00:16:31Then in the third fall,
00:16:32of course,
00:16:32this brings us
00:16:33to the time of Noah
00:16:34and the third aspect
00:16:35of man's fall.
00:16:36Man abused
00:16:37his fallen body.
00:16:39So at the time of Noah,
00:16:41we see at the beginning
00:16:42of Genesis 6,
00:16:44we see terrible immorality.
00:16:46even involving
00:16:48the evil spirits.
00:16:50This is a terrible situation.
00:16:52Not only that,
00:16:53it says the thoughts
00:16:54and imaginations
00:16:55of man's heart
00:16:57were only evil continually.
00:17:00It sounds like
00:17:01the present age.
00:17:02All right?
00:17:03If you read
00:17:03the newspaper,
00:17:06the front page,
00:17:08this is what it's about.
00:17:09Only evil continually.
00:17:12I'm so glad
00:17:13we're here tonight
00:17:13and in every meeting,
00:17:15every morning
00:17:16when we contact the Lord,
00:17:17every day,
00:17:18we are enjoying
00:17:19the triune God
00:17:20as our good news.
00:17:22Amen.

00:17:29the last class
00:17:30that I was with them,
00:17:30I said,
00:17:31I don't care how you feel,
00:17:32how bad you feel,
00:17:33how wiped out you are,

00:17:40Just look at the end
00:17:41of the Bible.
00:17:42You have a great ending.
00:17:46You become
00:17:47the new Jerusalem.
00:17:49Sooner or later.

00:18:02so you have all this evil.

00:18:05filled the earth.

00:18:09the earth today.
00:18:11And not only that,
00:18:12if you read Matthew 24,
00:18:14you can see
00:18:14the Lord says
00:18:16people were eating
00:18:16and drinking.
00:18:17They were marrying.
00:18:19They were being given
00:18:20in marriage.
00:18:21Man is befuddled
00:18:22by the necessities
00:18:24of life.
00:18:25He's stupefied
00:18:26by these necessities.
00:18:27And that's all
00:18:29he's thinking about.
00:18:29Self-nurture,
00:18:31self-amusement,
00:18:32self-defense,
00:18:34money,
00:18:34pleasure,
00:18:35self.
00:18:36And then,
00:18:37all of a sudden,
00:18:39the Lord will come.
00:18:41You know,
00:18:42this last great earthquake,
00:18:46which was a terrible,
00:18:47terrible,
00:18:49you know,
00:18:49tragedy,
00:18:50that's a warning to us
00:18:53that the Lord is coming.
00:18:54That's a warning to us.
00:18:57You see?
00:18:58That means the Lord's coming
00:18:59is getting closer.
00:19:01You know,
00:19:01Brother showed us,
00:19:02he did a thing
00:19:04on his computer
00:19:05of earthquakes
00:19:07since the 1800s
00:19:08up until now.
00:19:09The frequency of them.
00:19:11You should just see,
00:19:12it just goes like this.
00:19:14The number of earthquakes
00:19:16have increased
00:19:17so dramatically
00:19:18over the years.
00:19:20And the Lord prophesied this.
00:19:22He says,
00:19:22these are the beginning
00:19:24of birth pangs.
00:19:25You see?
00:19:26What is going on right now?
00:19:28The man-child
00:19:29is being formed.
00:19:31Right?
00:19:31That's the overcomers
00:19:33are being formed
00:19:36into a collective body.
00:19:39And when they are raptured,
00:19:41then Satan will be cast
00:19:44down to earth.
00:19:45Right?
00:19:45We want to be
00:19:46in the principle
00:19:47of that man-child.
00:19:48We want to be
00:19:49a dispensational instrument
00:19:51to turn the age.
00:19:52All right,
00:19:53now,
00:19:53let's come to the outline
00:19:55and let's see how we can
00:19:57build the ark
00:19:58to change the age.
00:19:59Roman number one says,
00:20:01the ark is a type of Christ,
00:20:03not only the individual Christ,
00:20:05but also the corporate Christ,
00:20:07the church,
00:20:08which is the body of Christ
00:20:10and the new man.
00:20:12I would just like to say this,
00:20:13brothers and sisters,
00:20:14at this point,
00:20:15it is a great thing
00:20:16to see what God's building is.
00:20:19In the Old Testament,
00:20:21God's building
00:20:22is something physical.
00:20:23Of course,
00:20:24Noah built the ark
00:20:25and the ark is a type
00:20:27of the New Testament reality.
00:20:29Later in the Old Testament,
00:20:30we have the building up
00:20:31of the tabernacle
00:20:32and the building up
00:20:33of the temple.
00:20:34But in the New Testament,
00:20:36and this is a great thing
00:20:38to see this,
00:20:39in the New Testament,
00:20:40God's building
00:20:41is a person.
00:20:45Hallelujah!
00:20:46What is God building
00:20:48in the New Testament?
00:20:49God is building
00:20:52a God-man.
00:20:54Do you realize
00:20:56Christ is God's building?
00:20:58When God became a man
00:21:00and said,
00:21:01the Word became flesh
00:21:02and tabernacled among us.
00:21:05He is the prototype
00:21:06of God's building.
00:21:08He was the tabernacle of God.
00:21:11In John 2,
00:21:12it points out that
00:21:13He is the temple of God.
00:21:15If you wanted to contact God,
00:21:17you had to go to Him.
00:21:19He is the embodiment
00:21:21of the triune God.
00:21:23He is the real tabernacle of God.
00:21:26When He became a man,
00:21:27He made God contactable,
00:21:30experienceable,
00:21:31receivable,
00:21:32enjoyable,
00:21:33and enterable.
00:21:36Now we can enter into God
00:21:38to enjoy the riches
00:21:39contained in God.
00:21:41But we know that
00:21:42through His crucifixion
00:21:43and resurrection,
00:21:45this individual God-man
00:21:47was enlarged
00:21:49as the mystical body of Christ,
00:21:51which is the corporate manifestation
00:21:53of God in the flesh,
00:21:55the corporate God-man.
00:21:57So what is God doing today?
00:21:59He is building up
00:22:01this corporate God-man.
00:22:03And the material of this building
00:22:07is divinity and humanity.
00:22:10Triune God is building Himself
00:22:12into our being,
00:22:13and He is building us
00:22:15into His being.
00:22:16This is God's building
00:22:18in this universe.
00:22:21Now, you know,
00:22:22there are, I would say,
00:22:24the best teaching out there.
00:22:27You know,
00:22:28they will say that the ark
00:22:29is a type of Christ.
00:22:32And the ark is a wonderful
00:22:33type of Christ.
00:22:34And I would encourage you
00:22:36to read all the notes
00:22:37in your recovery version
00:22:38from Genesis 6.
00:22:41Of course,
00:22:421 Peter 3,
00:22:4320-21,
00:22:44when Peter refers to the ark
00:22:46and the judgment waters
00:22:48that the ark passed through,
00:22:49he says,
00:22:50these waters are a type of baptism.
00:22:53A type of our baptism.
00:22:55When we believe in the Christ,
00:22:57He's the real ark.
00:22:58And we believe into Him.
00:23:01And we enter into Christ.
00:23:03And through believing into Christ,
00:23:06we are now,
00:23:07it is a fact,
00:23:09that we are in Christ.
00:23:13We are in Christ.
00:23:15That is wonderful.
00:23:17You know,
00:23:171 Corinthians 1.30,
00:23:19it says,
00:23:20but,
00:23:20I like this phrase,
00:23:21it says,
00:23:22but of Him,
00:23:23you are in.
00:23:26You are in.
00:23:28You are in.
00:23:28And it's of God
00:23:29that you are in.
00:23:30You are in where?
00:23:31You are in Christ Jesus.
00:23:35And according to Genesis 6,
00:23:39you read 6 and 7,
00:23:40it says,
00:23:41when Noah finished
00:23:42building the ark,
00:23:43it says,
00:23:44Jehovah shut the door.
00:23:46You know,
00:23:47when everyone gets in,
00:23:48who's going to shut the door?
00:23:51That's a big door.
00:23:53Well,
00:23:53it is so marvelous.
00:23:54Can you imagine?
00:23:57Jehovah shut the door.
00:23:59He shut them in.
00:24:02You know,
00:24:03Brother Lee points out,
00:24:03you can read the note later,
00:24:05that God,
00:24:07He has shut us into Christ.
00:24:11You cannot escape.
00:24:13You're shut in.
00:24:14You're in.
00:24:15You say,
00:24:15I'd like to get out.
00:24:16Too late.
00:24:17You're in the ark
00:24:19whether you like it or not.
00:24:21That's a fact.
00:24:22That's according to our
00:24:23eternal salvation
00:24:25from eternal perdition.

00:26:18eternal salvation

00:26:22a continual salvation.

00:26:26that God's
00:26:27main building
00:26:28is to build up
00:26:29the church
00:26:30as the corporate

00:26:41He is doing

00:26:50the unique work

00:26:52of the age

00:26:56up the church

00:27:10our spirit,
00:27:11but we would be

00:27:14and in our body.
00:27:16We would experience
00:27:17God's organic
00:27:18salvation
00:27:19so that He could

00:27:23become His
00:27:24overcoming bride,
00:27:25built up to be
00:27:26His body,
00:27:27and be ushered
00:27:28into the age
00:27:29of the Millennial
00:27:30Kingdom where
00:27:31we reign with
00:27:32Him and feast
00:27:33on Him for
00:27:34a thousand years.
00:27:37That's the
00:27:38salvation that
00:27:39we want to
00:27:40build up by
00:27:40building up the
00:27:41church in this
00:27:42age.
00:27:43Of course,
00:27:44we see from
00:27:44all these verses
00:27:45we have here,
00:27:461 Corinthians 12,
00:27:47Ephesians 2,
00:27:48Colossians 3,
00:27:49that to build up
00:27:50the church is
00:27:51to build up
00:27:51the body of
00:27:52Christ as
00:27:53the new man.
00:27:54Now,
00:27:55A says,
00:27:55by building the
00:27:56ark and
00:27:56entering into
00:27:57it,
00:27:58Noah was
00:27:59not only

00:39:31spirit.
00:39:32In my

00:39:34So Paul
00:39:34says, God
00:39:35is my
00:39:35witness, whom
00:39:36I serve in
00:39:37my spirit.
00:39:38To serve in
00:39:39our spirit is
00:39:40to serve in
00:39:40Christ as
00:39:42the empowering
00:39:42one and to
00:39:43be practically
00:39:44in Christ as
00:39:45your secret of
00:39:46sufficiency, which
00:39:48is to work out
00:39:49your salvation, to
00:39:51build up the
00:39:51corporate Christ.
00:39:52Christ.
00:39:52And we'll
00:39:53see this later
00:39:54as we get to
00:39:54the end of
00:39:55the outline.
00:39:56Now, A, A
00:39:58tells us
00:39:59practically how
00:39:59we can work
00:40:00out our own
00:40:01salvation.
00:40:02These next
00:40:02points, A
00:40:03through D, just
00:40:07give us four
00:40:08practical, wonderful
00:40:09points of how
00:40:10we can build up
00:40:11the ark, how
00:40:12we can build up
00:40:13Christ in our
00:40:14experience, how
00:40:15we can work
00:40:16out our own
00:40:17salvation.
00:40:18How can we do
00:40:19this, A, to
00:40:21work out our
00:40:21own salvation is
00:40:22to follow the
00:40:23pattern of
00:40:23Noah, who
00:40:25built the ark
00:40:26not according
00:40:27to his own
00:40:27imagination, but
00:40:29absolutely according
00:40:31to God's
00:40:31revelation and
00:40:33divine instructions
00:40:35by faith.
00:40:36Isn't that
00:40:37wonderful?
00:40:39He built the
00:40:40ark according
00:40:40to God's
00:40:41revelation.
00:40:42salvation.
00:40:44I hope you
00:40:45have this
00:40:45realization.
00:40:47And, you
00:40:49know, if you're
00:40:49newer, I would
00:40:50encourage you, you
00:40:51know, we need to
00:40:52read the Bible, and
00:40:53this Bible is the
00:40:55divine revelation
00:40:56and the divine
00:40:57instructions for
00:40:59building up Christ
00:41:00in our experience, for
00:41:01building up the
00:41:03church as the
00:41:04corporate Christ, for
00:41:05working out our
00:41:06own salvation, so
00:41:08that Christ is not
00:41:09just our eternal
00:41:10salvation, but he
00:41:11is our practical
00:41:12moment-by-moment
00:41:14salvation.
00:41:15Until we are
00:41:16saved in our
00:41:17spirit, soul, and
00:41:18body, we are
00:41:19not just regenerated
00:41:21in our spirit, but
00:41:22we are transformed
00:41:23in our soul, and
00:41:25eventually he
00:41:25invades our
00:41:26mortal body, our
00:41:28entire mortal
00:41:29body is swallowed
00:41:30up by life, and
00:41:32we are built up
00:41:32to be the ark, God's
00:41:34corporate testimony
00:41:35in this universe.
00:41:38And we are saved
00:41:39into a new age.
00:41:42we are reigning
00:41:43with Christ for a
00:41:44thousand years.
00:41:45How can we do
00:41:46that?
00:41:47Well, we need God's
00:41:48revelation.
00:41:49We need the divine
00:41:50instructions.
00:41:52But, we also need
00:41:54the ministry of the
00:41:55age that opens up
00:41:56this Bible to us.
00:41:58And saints, the
00:41:59more you read the
00:42:00Bible, and the
00:42:02more you read the
00:42:03ministry of the
00:42:04age that opens up
00:42:05the Bible, you read
00:42:05these footnotes, you
00:42:07read the ministry
00:42:08books, you realize
00:42:10this is not
00:42:11according to man's
00:42:12imagination.
00:42:13Am I right?
00:42:14This is according to
00:42:15God's revelation.
00:42:17And it says in the
00:42:18Bible that Moses, I
00:42:19love this word, it
00:42:21says he was divinely,
00:42:22I'm sorry, not
00:42:23Moses, Noah.
00:42:24Noah was divinely
00:42:25instructed by God.
00:42:27He was divinely
00:42:28instructed by God.
00:42:30With Noah, you know,
00:42:32I've got these verses
00:42:33here, and I would just
00:42:34like to mention this
00:42:35briefly.
00:42:36Of course, we saw
00:42:37that, you know, in
00:42:38the accumulation of
00:42:40the, as the vision of
00:42:41the age was growing
00:42:42larger from Adam,
00:42:43Abel, Enoch,
00:42:45Enoch, eventually
00:42:46Noah, Enoch was a
00:42:47person who walked
00:42:49with God.
00:42:50And when it begins to
00:42:51talk about Noah, it
00:42:53says Noah walked
00:42:54with God.
00:42:55And so we need to be
00:42:57those, if we are going
00:42:58to work out our own
00:43:00salvation, to build up
00:43:01Christ in our
00:43:02experience, so that we
00:43:03can become the
00:43:04corporate Christ in
00:43:05reality, we need to
00:43:06be those who walk
00:43:08with God.
00:43:09This means we take
00:43:10God as our center,
00:43:11we take God as our
00:43:13everything.
00:43:14We enjoy God, we
00:43:16experience God every
00:43:17day, we walk with
00:43:19God and we do this
00:43:20by faith.
00:43:22And if you look at
00:43:23Hebrews 11, 5-7,
00:43:25verses 5-6 talk
00:43:27about Enoch,
00:43:28verse 7 talks
00:43:30about Noah.
00:43:31In Hebrews 11, 5-6
00:43:33you have a co-walker.
00:43:35Hebrews 11, 7, you
00:43:36have a co-worker.
00:43:39If you want to be a
00:43:40co-worker with God,
00:43:41you have to be a
00:43:42co-walker with God.
00:43:44You have to walk
00:43:45with God.
00:43:46And it says Enoch,
00:43:47and Noah too, because
00:43:48he walked with God,
00:43:50that it says concerning
00:43:52Enoch that before his
00:43:54translation, he was
00:43:55translated.
00:43:56I love that word,
00:43:58translated.
00:43:59That he should not
00:44:01see death.
00:44:02You know, because he
00:44:04obtained the testimony
00:44:06before he was raptured
00:44:07that he was well
00:44:08pleasing to God.
00:44:10I want to ask you,
00:44:11saints, don't you want
00:44:12to obtain this testimony
00:44:13in your life?
00:44:15That you're well
00:44:16pleasing to God.
00:44:18We need to ask the
00:44:19Lord, Lord grant me
00:44:20your mercy that I would
00:44:22obtain such a testimony.
00:44:24But it says that Enoch
00:44:27and Noah, of course,
00:44:28did this by faith.
00:44:30And Enoch obtained the
00:44:32testimony that he was
00:44:33well pleasing to God.
00:44:35And it says he who comes
00:44:36forward to God must
00:44:37believe that he is.
00:44:39And that he is a
00:44:41rewarder of those who
00:44:42diligently seek him.
00:44:43This is what Noah did
00:44:45the same thing.
00:44:46He believed.
00:44:47I like this.
00:44:48You know, brother, he
00:44:49had a message on this
00:44:50in the crystallization
00:44:51study of Romans was a
00:44:53classic message.
00:44:54If you were in that
00:44:55meeting, you could never
00:44:56forget that meeting as
00:44:57long as you lived.
00:44:59Of course, we have it
00:44:59in print.
00:45:00But in that meeting,
00:45:02our brother pointed out
00:45:03that faith is to believe
00:45:05that God is.
00:45:07God is.
00:45:08And to believe that God
00:45:09is means that we are
00:45:11not.
00:45:12That is the real denial
00:45:14of the self.
00:45:16To believe that God is
00:45:18and you are not.
00:45:20That means that we
00:45:22take God as the one
00:45:24who is.
00:45:25He's the unique one.
00:45:26And he's everything to
00:45:28us.
00:45:28He's the one who is in
00:45:30every situation to us.
00:45:32And we are not in
00:45:35every situation.
00:45:37He's the only one, the
00:45:38unique one, in everything
00:45:40in our lives.
00:45:41And we are not in
00:45:43everything.
00:45:44So tonight, he needs to
00:45:46be the unique one in
00:45:47this meeting.
00:45:50Tonight, who's speaking?
00:45:52God is speaking.
00:45:53I have to believe that.
00:45:55I have to exercise my
00:45:57spirit to believe that.
00:45:59Who is listening tonight
00:46:01for you?
00:46:02God is.
00:46:04God is the one.
00:46:06And so that is the real
00:46:07denial of the self, to
00:46:09believe that God is and
00:46:11we are not.
00:46:12He is the great I am.
00:46:14But Noah built this.
00:46:15He didn't just walk with
00:46:17God.
00:46:17He worked with God.
00:46:19Now let's see this.
00:46:20One says, just as there
00:46:21was only one window, one
00:46:23opening in the ark toward
00:46:24the heavens for the
00:46:25light, there is only one
00:46:27window, one revelation,
00:46:29and one vision through one
00:46:31ministry in God's building.
00:46:33We have put this on
00:46:35outlines in the past, but
00:46:36saints, isn't this wonderful?
00:46:38There is no confusion.
00:46:39There is just one window.
00:46:41There is just one vision.
00:46:44And this one vision comes
00:46:45through the one ministry.
00:46:47Paul said, I was not
00:46:48disobedient to the heavenly
00:46:51vision.
00:46:51Right?
00:46:52There is one heavenly
00:46:54vision.
00:46:54And that vision is
00:46:56according and through the
00:46:59one ministry of the age.
00:47:00And that one vision is the
00:47:02vision of God's eternal
00:47:04economy.
00:47:05That's why this is the only
00:47:06teaching in the New
00:47:08Testament.
00:47:09Any other teaching is to
00:47:10teach differently.
00:47:11We just have one teaching.
00:47:13We just have one ministry.
00:47:14And that is to minister
00:47:17God's economy to people.
00:47:20Okay, let me read on.
00:47:21Two, in every age there is
00:47:22the vision of that age.
00:47:24And we have to serve God
00:47:25according to the vision of
00:47:27the age.
00:47:29God's Word reveals to us
00:47:31that in every age He gives
00:47:33only one vision to man.
00:47:35I will just say something
00:47:37briefly here.
00:47:38We have shared a lot on
00:47:39this again in meetings in
00:47:41the past.
00:47:42But saints, we need to
00:47:44realize that we have to
00:47:46serve God according to the
00:47:47vision of the age.
00:47:49If you look throughout the
00:47:50Bible, in every age, the
00:47:53Lord had particular things He
00:47:55wanted to do and carry out
00:47:57according to the vision in
00:47:58that age.
00:47:59So with Adam, there was a
00:48:01particular vision.
00:48:02With Abel there was.
00:48:04With Enosh.
00:48:04With Enoch.
00:48:06First you come to Noah and
00:48:07you have the vision of that
00:48:09age to build the ark.
00:48:10And that vision includes all
00:48:12the foregoing visions.
00:48:14Now here we are at the end
00:48:16of this age.
00:48:17And our vision is an all
00:48:19inheriting vision.
00:48:20Our vision extends all the
00:48:22way from the tree of life in
00:48:23Genesis 2 to the tree of life
00:48:26in Revelation 22 with the
00:48:29New Jerusalem.
00:48:30Our vision is an all
00:48:32inheriting vision of God's
00:48:35economy.
00:48:36Of the triune God coming out
00:48:38of eternity into time with
00:48:40His divinity into humanity
00:48:42to pass through the processes
00:48:43of incarnation, human living,
00:48:46crucifixion, and resurrection
00:48:48to dispense Himself into our
00:48:50being to regenerate us, to
00:48:52sanctify us, to renew us, to
00:48:54transform us, to conform us
00:48:56to His image, and to glorify us
00:48:59in His body so that we can be
00:49:00fully built up to be His
00:49:02corporate ark, for His
00:49:04corporate testimony, to
00:49:05become His bride in the
00:49:07millennial kingdom, and
00:49:08ultimately His wife in
00:49:09eternity for His full glory in
00:49:12this universe.
00:49:13Amen.
00:49:14That is God's economy.
00:49:16Amen.
00:49:17Don't ask me to repeat that.
00:49:20That is wonderful.
00:49:22That is our all inheriting
00:49:24vision.
00:49:25That is the vision of the
00:49:27age.
00:49:28Okay, I better stop her
00:49:30because I still have a lot of
00:49:32ground to cover.
00:49:33Let me go on to three.
00:49:34Throughout the ages there
00:49:35were many saints who loved
00:49:37the Lord and who feared the
00:49:38Lord, but we cannot say that
00:49:40they all had the vision that
00:49:42matched their age.
00:49:44You see, saints, we want a
00:49:46vision that matches the age.
00:49:48Am I right?
00:49:49If we're living on this
00:49:51earth, you know, Brother Lee
00:49:52said he realized if I'm a
00:49:54man, I have to be a
00:49:54believer.
00:49:55I have to be a Christian.
00:49:56And if I'm a Christian, I
00:49:58have to be an overcomer.
00:50:00I have to be in the center of
00:50:02what the Lord is doing on
00:50:04this earth.
00:50:05Otherwise, our lives, even as
00:50:07believers, are meaningless.
00:50:12Barnabas, saints, you look at
00:50:13these verses, and you can see
00:50:15there are three people
00:50:16mentioned here in this series
00:50:18of verses.
00:50:18Barnabas, Apollos, and James.
00:50:21Barnabas brought Paul into the
00:50:23church life.
00:50:25But eventually, in Acts 15, you
00:50:30know when Paul wanted to visit
00:50:31the churches again, Barnabas
00:50:33wanted to bring Mark with him.
00:50:35And so there was a contention
00:50:37between them.
00:50:38And Barnabas, of course, he
00:50:40didn't go with Paul.
00:50:42Paul went and took another
00:50:44brother with him to visit the
00:50:45churches.
00:50:46We find from the scriptures, if
00:50:48you look at, and again, the
00:50:49notes in these verses are very
00:50:52enlightening.
00:50:53Mark was Barnabas' cousin.
00:50:55And Paul didn't want to take
00:50:57Mark with him because Mark had
00:51:00left him on an earlier journey
00:51:03they had.
00:51:04So he didn't want to take
00:51:05him this time.
00:51:07Well, what we see from that
00:51:09point on in the record of Acts,
00:51:11in the book concerning God's
00:51:13move as the acting God,
00:51:15Barnabas' name is no longer
00:51:17mentioned in the divine record
00:51:20of the acting God carry out
00:51:23his move on this earth.
00:51:25And we don't want to be in
00:51:26that category.
00:51:27Am I right?
00:51:29And the footnote points out
00:51:31that one of the major things
00:51:32that caused Barnabas to have
00:51:35that split with Paul was
00:51:36natural relationships.
00:51:38He had a natural relationship.
00:51:40And at the end of this note,
00:51:42I can't quote it exactly, but it
00:51:44says something like this.
00:51:45It says, contentions that arise
00:51:48among the co-workers because of
00:51:50natural relationships are terrible.
00:51:54And brotherly says this.
00:51:55You can look at the note.
00:51:56I believe he says this word.
00:51:58Remember this well.
00:52:01I think there's an exclamation
00:52:02point there too.
00:52:04Remember this well.
00:52:05If you look at the
00:52:06turmoils we've had,
00:52:08we need to remember this.
00:52:10Because of course,
00:52:12you know, brotherly told us,
00:52:13unfulfilled ambition,
00:52:15that was the reason for
00:52:16the last turmoil.
00:52:18Unfulfilled ambition.
00:52:21Saints, if we're ambitious
00:52:23to be somebody,
00:52:24we're not building up the ark,
00:52:26we're building up ourselves.
00:52:30That's right.
00:52:31You know, the genuine ministry
00:52:33builds up the ark.
00:52:35Builds up Christ.
00:52:36Builds up the corporate Christ.
00:52:37So what do you see
00:52:39in the genuine New Testament ministry?
00:52:41You see Christ.
00:52:43You don't see any person
00:52:45magnified.
00:52:46Any person exalted.
00:52:48You know, that ark is huge.
00:52:51If you're Noah,
00:52:52you're like this.
00:52:52The ark's like this.
00:52:54But if you want to build up
00:52:56your own ministry,
00:52:56you become like this.
00:52:58You become the center.
00:53:02It's terrible.
00:53:04That's why Paul said,
00:53:04we don't preach ourselves,
00:53:07but Christ Jesus as Lord.
00:53:11I'm so thankful we got brought
00:53:12under a ministry
00:53:13that stirred us up
00:53:14to love Christ,
00:53:16to exalt Christ,
00:53:17to enjoy Christ,
00:53:19to give Christ the preeminence,
00:53:21to make Christ everything to us.
00:53:24That's why Brother Lee told us
00:53:26at the end of his ministry,
00:53:27he said,
00:53:28don't follow me as a person.
00:53:29You need to see the vision
00:53:31and follow that vision.
00:53:33Because the leadership
00:53:35in God's New Testament economy
00:53:37is not the leadership
00:53:38of any controlling person.
00:53:40It's the leadership
00:53:42of the God-given revelation
00:53:44of God's economy.
00:53:46And according to that revelation,
00:53:49Christ is preeminent.
00:53:51Christ is everything.
00:53:54But anyway,
00:53:56you change.
00:53:58In our history with turmoils,
00:54:01what was built up?
00:54:03You check.
00:54:04What's the problem?
00:54:05It's this person
00:54:06is preeminent.
00:54:08This person.
00:54:09We don't want to build up ourselves.
00:54:11We want to build up the ark.
00:54:16I like to be in Noah's family.
00:54:18Don't you?
00:54:21And I have to realize
00:54:22who Noah is.
00:54:26It's a great thing to see
00:54:27who Noah is.
00:54:31If you see
00:54:32not only
00:54:35the ministry of the age,
00:54:36you have to see
00:54:37who the minister of the age is.
00:54:40You know,
00:54:41just look at these footnotes.
00:54:42Could you write footnotes like that?
00:54:44If you think you could do that,
00:54:46you're crazy.
00:54:49Why do I say you're crazy?
00:54:51Because Romans 12 says
00:54:52that
00:54:55when your mind's renewed,

00:55:00the measure that you have.
00:55:02The measure of faith

00:55:04If you think that you have
00:55:05the portion Paul had,

00:55:18study of Romans.

00:55:22I would say quite frankly,

00:55:24what about Brother Lee

00:55:30to build up the ark

00:55:34of God's economy

00:55:41Then we have Apollos.
00:55:43You know,
00:55:44Apollos,
00:55:44he was powerful
00:55:45in the Scriptures.
00:55:48But Apollos is not
00:55:49the minister of the age
00:55:50at that time.
00:55:52When Paul met
00:55:53those believers
00:55:54in Ephesus,
00:55:55Apollos had been there
00:55:56in Ephesus
00:55:57and it says
00:55:58he just knew
00:55:58the baptism of John.
00:56:00So Paul's
00:56:01contact those believers
00:56:02in Ephesus.
00:56:03He said,
00:56:03did you receive
00:56:04the Holy Spirit
00:56:05when you believed?
00:56:06They said,
00:56:06we haven't even heard
00:56:07that there is
00:56:08a Holy Spirit.
00:56:11Don't you think
00:56:12that's a little
00:56:13deficiency there?
00:56:15What if you came
00:56:16out of the training
00:56:18and somebody
00:56:19asked you
00:56:20about the Spirit
00:56:20and you said,
00:56:21we haven't even heard
00:56:22that there is a Spirit.
00:56:23I would say,
00:56:25what happened

00:57:14you look at him,
00:57:14he looks so perfect,

00:57:17brother,
00:57:18whom we would
00:57:19respect, right?
00:57:20We should respect.
00:57:23But, what about
00:57:24James' vision?
00:57:27Let me tell you
00:57:28a story here.
00:57:29You know,
00:57:30in the church
00:57:31in Anaheim,
00:57:32of course,
00:57:33we're in the whole,
00:57:34you know,
00:57:34we go through
00:57:34Holy Word
00:57:35for morning revival,
00:57:36and back in 92,
00:57:3893,
00:57:39we were going
00:57:40through the Holy
00:57:41Words at that time,
00:57:42this was before
00:57:42Bradley did the
00:57:43crystallization study,
00:57:44and we had run
00:57:45out of Holy
00:57:47Words that were
00:57:47printed,
00:57:48you know,
00:57:49by Living Stream,
00:57:50and the only one
00:57:51we had left
00:57:52was the Holy
00:57:53Word on the
00:57:54life study of
00:57:55James.
00:57:56So, we said,
00:57:57well,
00:57:57we better just
00:57:58get into James,

00:58:55the epistle
00:58:56of James.
00:58:57This is a
00:58:57real classic.
00:58:59Real classic.
00:59:00But the
00:59:01point with
00:59:01James is,
00:59:02is,
00:59:03oh,
00:59:03here is
00:59:04James.
00:59:05Paul there
00:59:05in Acts 21,
00:59:07Paul comes
00:59:07there,
00:59:08and Paul
00:59:08wants to
00:59:09keep the
00:59:09oneness
00:59:09so bad,
00:59:11which is
00:59:12admirable,
00:59:12that Paul
00:59:13compromises.
00:59:14He went
00:59:16too far,
00:59:17you see,
00:59:19because of
00:59:20his heart
00:59:20to keep
00:59:20the oneness,
00:59:22he crossed
00:59:22the line.
00:59:23But God
00:59:23would not
00:59:24let him,
00:59:25he would
00:59:25not,
00:59:26he would
00:59:27not allow
00:59:28Paul.
00:59:29Do you
00:59:29realize Paul
00:59:30was about
00:59:31to offer
00:59:32an animal
00:59:32sacrifice?
00:59:35That would
00:59:36have been
00:59:36a big
