00:00:00As we have emphasized in the last two weeks, in Ezekiel chapter 14, there are two verses that speak of

00:00:13three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, known for their righteousness.

00:00:25And with Job, the scripture says, or actually the Lord himself in the scripture says, you alone have I found

00:00:38righteous before me in this generation.

00:00:45So our general subject is that Noah, Daniel, and Job are patterns of living and overcoming life on the line

00:00:56of life to fulfill the economy of God.

00:01:01But especially with Noah in particular, this pattern of living and overcoming life on the line of life is related

00:01:15to righteousness.

00:01:18And last week, we endeavored to point out that Noah was a herald of righteousness.

00:01:30And we had no thought of speaking further on righteousness related to Noah.

00:01:40But then early the next morning, the burden began to come.

00:01:45And during the last week, eventually, it was decided and actually there was no choice.

00:01:53We needed to proceed to develop this line of righteousness with Noah much further.

00:02:03So you have an outline about 50% longer than usual.

00:02:12That does not mean, I think, that the message will be 50% longer.

00:02:23Otherwise, I think I will be speaking alone.

00:02:27Maybe not even my wife could bear to be here that long.

00:02:34The outline is only secondarily for the message.

00:02:42It is primarily prepared as a provision for you or for the you that might pursue the Lord more

00:02:57and seek the Lord more, you would have in this outline what I would call a panoramic view

00:03:04of the righteousness of God from Noah to the new heaven and the new earth.

00:03:16And the first two points, as we will see, are objective, judicial, and foundational.

00:03:28Without the first two points, we cannot have the other ten.

00:03:35At least nine of which, three through eleven, are subjective, experiential, and practical.

00:03:47We must have a solid, unshakable foundation.

00:03:56Before too long, we'll read through the outline.

00:04:00Some sections I'll mainly read, others I'll develop, and I believe, in about the usual time.

00:04:12But because the details are many, I think it would help you if you had in mind

00:04:21a definition of four aspects of righteousness as righteousness is related to our living

00:04:33as justified ones, forgiven ones, and cleansed ones.

00:04:41These four definitions are for the living of those who have believed into Christ

00:04:48and by being in Him, have Him as their righteousness before God.

00:04:57And now they want to, as the title indicates,

00:05:03be heirs of righteousness, living Christ as the righteousness of God

00:05:10in the kingdom of the heavens.

00:05:13We inherit righteousness, then we live Christ as the righteousness of God,

00:05:22and we live Him as such in the reality of the kingdom of the heavens,

00:05:30hoping to shine like the sun,

00:05:35to be the righteous ones shining like the sun

00:05:39in the manifestation of the kingdom.

00:05:44So here are the definitions of four aspects of righteousness.

00:05:51As they are related to our living,

00:05:54then we will see these definitions in the various points.

00:05:59First, righteousness is a matter of being right

00:06:06with all persons, matters, situations, and things

00:06:17according to God's righteous and strict requirements.

00:06:24Righteousness is a matter of being right.

00:06:27I'll leave out matter because I have matters in the sentence.

00:06:32I just don't like two matters in the same sentence,

00:06:35so I'll slightly revise it.

00:06:37Righteousness is being right with all persons,

00:06:45matters, situations, and things

00:06:49according to God's righteous and strict requirements.

00:06:55Then, second, righteousness is to live out and express

00:07:06the Christ who is our life inwardly.

00:07:13So righteousness is to live out Christ

00:07:18and to express Christ

00:07:22and this Christ whom we express

00:07:25as the righteousness of God

00:07:27is our life inwardly.

00:07:31When He lives within us, He is life.

00:07:34When we live Him and manifest Him,

00:07:38that manifestation is righteousness.

00:07:43Third, righteousness is being right

00:07:52governmentally and administratively

00:07:57with the throne of God.

00:08:03According to Psalm 89.14,

00:08:06Righteousness is the foundation of God's throne.

00:08:10A king reigns in righteousness.

00:08:15So to be righteous,

00:08:17we need to be right with God

00:08:19governmentally and administratively

00:08:23as the one who is on the throne.

00:08:26This means we are under His rule.

00:08:30We may point out later

00:08:32that what God wants in this generation

00:08:35is not merely moral persons

00:08:39and spiritual persons,

00:08:42but persons under His authority.

00:08:47And I mean under His direct authority.

00:08:55I regret that when I spoke upon the direct

00:08:59headship of Christ

00:09:01and the training on Colossians

00:09:03in relation to the body,

00:09:06this was immediately spun by some

00:09:10to justify their personal authority.

00:09:17Yes, we have to be right with those

00:09:19who are deputy authorities

00:09:20and represent God's authority.

00:09:24That's the matter of being right with persons.

00:09:28But this point,

00:09:29righteousness is to be right

00:09:32with God on His administrating throne.

00:09:38To have no problems with the throne.

00:09:41To have a clear sky

00:09:44with a throne.

00:09:46And then the definition of the fourth aspect

00:09:50of righteousness

00:09:50is that righteousness

00:09:54is to be right with God

00:09:58in our being

00:10:02by having the righteousness of God

00:10:06constituted into us.

00:10:13Second Corinthians 5.21

00:10:15We become the righteousness of God in Christ.

00:10:20So righteousness now

00:10:22is a matter of our being,

00:10:24our person,

00:10:25our element,

00:10:28our substance,

00:10:29being constituted

00:10:32with the righteousness of God.

00:10:36So based upon

00:10:38inheriting righteousness

00:10:40and having Christ as our righteousness,

00:10:44we should then live

00:10:46a life of righteousness

00:10:48by being right

00:10:50with all persons,

00:10:51matters and things

00:10:52according to God's righteous

00:10:54and strict requirements,

00:10:56by living and expressing Christ

00:10:59as the righteousness of God,

00:11:02by being right

00:11:05and proper

00:11:06with God's righteous throne

00:11:08and government,

00:11:10and becoming

00:11:11the righteousness of God

00:11:13in our being.

00:11:16Now we can turn to the outline.

00:11:19The first Roman numeral

00:11:22is meant to be

00:11:24a continuation

00:11:25from last week's outline

00:11:28and it also serves

00:11:31as a trumpeting

00:11:32of the initial theme,

00:11:35heirs of righteousness.

00:11:38And we have,

00:11:40as in all the major subheadings,

00:11:43verses used.

00:11:44By faith,

00:11:46by faith Noah

00:11:47became heir

00:11:49of the righteousness

00:11:51which is

00:11:52according

00:11:53to faith.

00:11:57The principle

00:11:59was the same

00:12:00with him

00:12:00as it was

00:12:02with Abraham.

00:12:04Abraham did not work.

00:12:07He believed

00:12:08and he was declared

00:12:11righteous

00:12:12by God.

00:12:13He simply

00:12:14received it

00:12:15as a gift.

00:12:16He inherited it.

00:12:19So A says

00:12:20the righteousness

00:12:21of God

00:12:22is not merely

00:12:24an attribute

00:12:25of God.

00:12:26It is

00:12:27God

00:12:28himself.

00:12:32Noah believed

00:12:33in God

00:12:34and his

00:12:35believing

00:12:36was accounted

00:12:37to him

00:12:38by God

00:12:39as righteousness

00:12:41even as it

00:12:43was to

00:12:44Abraham.

00:12:45So he

00:12:46began

00:12:47with being

00:12:49an heir

00:12:50and he

00:12:52inherited

00:12:53all the

00:12:54godly

00:12:54and spiritual

00:12:55things

00:12:55from his

00:12:56forefathers

00:12:57and he

00:12:58had inherited

00:13:00righteousness

00:13:01by faith.

00:13:03there is

00:13:03no other

00:13:04way

00:13:05to be

00:13:06righteous

00:13:06in the

00:13:07sight of

00:13:07God

00:13:07and to

00:13:08be

00:13:08declared

00:13:09right

00:13:10by

00:13:10God

00:13:11except

00:13:12by

00:13:12believing

00:13:13into

00:13:13Christ

00:13:14the

00:13:15righteous

00:13:15one

00:13:16who

00:13:18died

00:13:18for us

00:13:19the

00:13:19righteous

00:13:19on behalf

00:13:20of the

00:13:21unrighteous

00:13:23that he

00:13:24might become

00:13:25righteousness

00:13:26to us

00:13:27from

00:13:28God.

00:13:29We

00:13:30believe

00:38:58And every day, my life starts on this basis, with the blood of Jesus, with Christ as the sin offering,

00:39:16But God wants a change in our constitution.

00:39:20He wants a God-man living, an overcoming living, a kingly living.

00:39:28God wants to see Christ lived out from within us, as we live under God's throne.

00:39:36So we are in the process of organic salvation.

00:39:42And while we are going through this process, we will always need Romans 1, 16 and 17.

00:39:52Even in the new Jerusalem, and the new heaven and the new earth, Brother Lee points out to us,

00:40:00we will have an eternal Lord's table meeting,

00:40:04remembering that we are glorified sons of God.

00:40:10the same as He in life and nature, because the Lamb, God, died for us.

00:40:17We will never ever forget the blood of the Lamb.

00:40:22And overcomers, overcome by the blood of the Lamb.

00:40:32Unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees,

00:40:38you shall by no means enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

00:40:43This refers to the manifestation of the kingdom of the heavens in the coming age.

00:40:50Okay, this righteousness, in that verse, does not refer only to objective righteousness.

00:40:59The Christ whom we receive when we believe in Him and are thus justified before God,

00:41:09it refers even more to subjective righteousness.

00:41:15The indwelling Christ lived out of us as our righteousness that we may live in the reality of the kingdom

00:41:27today

00:41:28and enter into its manifestation in the future.

00:41:32We have Christ in us now.

00:41:36The Christ on whom we stand.

00:41:40The Christ with whom we are clothed

00:41:43is now the Christ as the Spirit in our spirit.

00:41:50And when we are one spirit with Him

00:41:54and walk according to Spirit

00:41:56and live Him,

00:42:00this Christ in our spirit

00:42:02is expressed through our soul.

00:42:07And that expression of the indwelling Christ through our soul

00:42:11is what we call subjective righteousness.

00:42:18And that expression is also the wedding garment.

00:42:25The surpassing righteousness

00:42:27is this inward subjective righteousness

00:42:31expressed from within us.

00:42:34It surpasses anything merely outward.
