00:00:00Well, saints, we really feel that this line of ministry on Wednesday night is very special.
00:00:08And we feel like what we're going to share is really something of the Lord's burden.
00:00:16And we feel there's new revelation here, fresh revelation,
00:00:22so that we can walk in the light of this revelation to build up the church that becomes a body
00:00:29of Christ.
00:00:30So that we can be prepared to be the bride of Christ and consummated to be the new Jerusalem.
00:00:37You'll see from this general subject, which I would like to read to you,
00:00:42it says, Noah, Daniel, and Job, patterns of living and overcoming life on the line of life to fulfill the
00:00:54economy of God.
00:00:56Now, we may read this, and we may wonder, well, you know, why are we sharing on Noah, Daniel, and
00:01:06Job?
00:01:07We could have shared on a lot of people, right?
00:01:12Okay, Rick said before the meeting, you know, we were fellowshipping about this, about the intrinsic revelation, this title.
00:01:20He said, yeah, it could have been Moses, Joshua, and David.
00:01:25Why Noah, Daniel, and Job?
00:01:28Well, it's very significant, brothers and sisters, and to see this, what I would like you to do is to
00:01:35turn with me in your Bibles to Ezekiel chapter 14,
00:01:39and I would like to read two verses to you from this chapter,
00:01:46so we can see how significant these particular men are in the Old Testament.
00:01:53Now, this is Ezekiel chapter 14, verses 14 and verse 20.
00:02:03I hope all of you have your whole Bible.
00:02:06Remember, our Bible has 66 books, not just 27, right?
00:02:12We have a complete Bible, so we would all exercise to bring our whole Bible to the meeting.
00:02:20Now, in chapter 14, just to give you some kind of setting here,
00:02:25what we see, of course, is that Israel fell into degradation.
00:02:32And their degradation, and we have shared this verse many times, and this is verse 3 of chapter 14,
00:02:42came from the fact that they set up idols in their hearts.
00:02:46They had idols in their hearts.
00:02:48And we know that an idol is not something, merely something outward in the physical realm.
00:02:56We realize that there are idols, there are statues people worship and pray to,
00:03:00pictures which are surely idolatrous images and icons.
00:03:06We reject and repudiate that to the uttermost.
00:03:10They need to be dealt with to the uttermost.
00:03:13But intrinsically, idols are also something very deeper and inward,
00:03:18because the Lord says here that they had, you know, in one translation,
00:03:22it says they set up the idols in their hearts, the elders of God's people.
00:03:28And we realize at the end of 1 John, John says in the very last verse of his first epistle,
00:03:34he says, little children, guard yourselves from idols.
00:03:39And we realize from these verses that an idol is anything that replaces Christ.
00:03:46An idol is anything, anything, anyone that we love more than Christ becomes an idol.
00:03:57Anything that we hold more important to us than Christ is an idol.
00:04:02Anything that we exalt above Christ is an idol.
00:04:07An idol is anything that is not only against Christ,
00:04:10but anything or anyone that replaces Christ in our life.
00:04:15This is an idol.
00:04:17And we don't want to love anyone or anything above Christ.
00:04:22We love Christ supremely.
00:04:26I'd like to say again with all of you,
00:04:30Lord Jesus, I love you.
00:04:32He is our first love.
00:04:35What does that mean?
00:04:36That means we give him the first place in every part of our being
00:04:41and in every area of our life and our living.
00:04:45That means we like to make Christ everything to us in our whole being
00:04:52and in every area of our daily life, our church life, and our service to God.
00:04:59So, this was their situation.
00:05:02They had drifted into idolatry.
00:05:07You remember in Matthew 15, the Lord Jesus, when God was incarnated,
00:05:13and the Lord Jesus was speaking there to the opposing religionists of his day,
00:05:19he said, this people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me.
00:05:25Now, we don't want to just pay lip service to the Lord.
00:05:29Even right now, together with you, I like to give my heart to the Lord Jesus.
00:05:37And we want him to strengthen us into the inner man every day
00:05:41so that he could make his home in every room of our heart,
00:05:46our mind, will, emotion, and conscience.
00:05:51Now, you can see, if you look at your recovery version,
00:05:55this is God's judgment against the idolatrous elders,
00:05:59because we're the leaders of God's people.
00:06:02And what God's people will be depends on the patterns who are before them.
00:06:08You see, I'm so thankful for the Lord's mercy all these years in my experience in the church life
00:06:17to not just be with Brother Lee, which is a great, great thing,
00:06:21but also to be with so many brothers who are patterns to me in so many ways.
00:06:27The brothers I serve with, I could just think of them one by one.
00:06:31Each of them is a pattern to me in a particular way, according to their function and portion.
00:06:38It's just too, what a mercy, what a mercy to have positive patterns
00:06:44that when you look at their life with the Lord and their service to the Lord,
00:06:54you are just stirred up to love the Lord Jesus
00:06:58and to give your whole life to Him for the goal of His economy.
00:07:03I'm so thankful for that.
00:07:05But here we have negative patterns.
00:07:08Now, look what God says in verse 14.
00:07:14Of course, in verse 13, He's talking about His judgment on the land.
00:07:19He talks about the children of Israel acting unfaithfully.
00:07:22He says He'll break its staff of bread.
00:07:25I'm just paraphrasing verse 13.
00:07:27I'll send a famine against it, cut off man and beast from it.
00:07:31Then He says this, though these three men, Noah, Daniel and Job, were in the midst of it,
00:07:38they would deliver only their own souls by their righteousness, declares the Lord Jehovah.
00:07:44I want you to notice this.
00:07:47This shows how much the triune God esteems these three men.
00:07:53He says these three men.
00:07:58Isn't that significant?
00:08:00I want you to consider this.
00:08:03I would say, Selah.
00:08:06Selah.
00:08:07You know, the brothers remember when Brother Lee would share many times,
00:08:10she'd say, think about it.
00:08:12Think about it.
00:08:13You know, Paul said, consider these things,
00:08:15and the Lord will give you understanding.
00:08:18We need to consider, it says these three men.
00:08:22Why three men?
00:08:23Why not four men?
00:08:24Why not five men?
00:08:25Three men, right?
00:08:28Oh, praise the Lord.
00:08:31Praise the Lord for these three men.
00:08:35You know, Brother Lee taught us, we'll see in the outline,
00:08:38that we have the governing principle of interpretation.
00:08:42He gave us these glasses.
00:08:44I'm so thankful to the Lord
00:08:46that in 1984 he called some urgent elders training,
00:08:501984, 1985, 1986.
00:08:54And he did this because he wanted to preserve
00:08:56the future of the Lord's recovery.
00:08:59And he warned us about a lot of things.
00:09:02We have healthy warnings in there.
00:09:04We put out a booklet in the training,
00:09:07which most of what's in that booklet
00:09:09is from the elders training series.
00:09:12Because there are other marvelous portions in that booklet.
00:09:15And Brother Lee said he received a weather report.
00:09:20Of course, we feel the weather is almost at shore right now.
00:09:25But I'm so glad we got the weather report.
00:09:27We got a tsunami warning.
00:09:30Hallelujah.
00:09:32Amen.
00:09:33I really mean it.
00:09:35Anyway, there was some,
00:09:37there was a brother among us
00:09:39who got a weather report.
00:09:41We didn't have any report.
00:09:42We thought everything's wonderful.
00:09:44Right?
00:09:45We didn't have the discernment that he had.
00:09:48But I'm so thankful that weather report he received
00:09:51and that healthy teaching of God's economy
00:09:55he released in those elders training books
00:09:58are even now preserving us
00:10:02in the central lane of God's economy.
00:10:05So wonderful.
00:10:07Look, here we are in this room
00:10:08and we're in the healthy teaching of God's economy.
00:10:12This is all we have a taste for.
00:10:15This is all we care for.
00:10:17And he told Brother Lee,
00:10:19share with us
00:10:19that whenever you interpret the Bible
00:10:21you need to have a governing principle.
00:10:23There's three governing principles.
00:10:25First is the triune God
00:10:27dispensed into his chosen and redeemed people.
00:10:31That's why when we look at this verse
00:10:33we have to see these three men.
00:10:36Right?
00:10:37That with these three men
00:10:38we will see the triune God
00:10:41dispensing himself
00:10:42into his chosen and redeemed people.
00:10:45And then we have to have the governing principle
00:10:47of Christ and the church
00:10:50which is the contents of God's entire eternal economy.
00:10:55Christ is the mystery of God
00:10:56and the church is the mystery of Christ.
00:10:59And then we have to have the governing principle
00:11:01of Christ, the spirit, life, and the church.
00:11:04Christ, isn't it good, brothers and sisters
00:11:07that we can wear these kind of glasses
00:11:09when we look at the Bible?
00:11:11See, I can't even...
00:11:12You know, all of you guys are a blur right now.
00:11:14You know, if I didn't have...
00:11:16If we didn't have this recovery version
00:11:19with these notes,
00:11:21we didn't have the life days of books,
00:11:23your vision would be just like mine right now.
00:11:26You know, the Lord...
00:11:27Remember He touched that many?
00:11:28He says, I see men walking about like trees.
00:11:31Right?
00:11:31And then He needed to be touched again.
00:11:33I'm so glad we have the...
00:11:35I can see you so clearly.
00:11:37This is what the ministry does for us.
00:11:40Put on the glasses of God's economy.
00:11:46Now, look at verse 20.
00:11:49This says,
00:11:51Though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in the midst of it,
00:11:55as I live, declares the Lord Jehovah,
00:11:58they could not deliver even a son or daughter.
00:12:01They would deliver only their own souls
00:12:04by their righteousness.
00:12:07You see, this shows that God's judgment was so serious
00:12:10that He wouldn't even deliver Noah, Daniel, and Job's sons and daughters.
00:12:15Just themselves.
00:12:16But again, I want you to see
00:12:19that these three men
00:12:21are highly esteemed by the Triune God.
00:12:25Why are they highly esteemed?
00:12:27Because they are patterns.
00:12:29These idolaters, elders,
00:12:30they were not patterns.
00:12:31But Noah, Daniel, and Job,
00:12:33they are patterns.
00:12:35Patterns of what?
00:12:36Patterns of living and overcoming life
00:12:38on the line of life
00:12:40to fulfill the economy of God.
00:12:43You know, brothers and sisters,
00:12:44of course, Noah and Daniel,
00:12:47we see from their very beginning,
00:12:49as recorded in the Scriptures,
00:12:51they were on the line of life.
00:12:53With Job and his three friends,
00:12:56they started on the line of the tree of knowledge.
00:12:59That's where they began.
00:13:01But they ended up at the end
00:13:03on the line of the tree of life.
00:13:05It's marvelous.
00:13:06And we'll talk about this.
00:13:09But, brothers and sisters,
00:13:11I would also like to mention this.
00:13:14The reason why we use the word patterns
00:13:18is because, you know,
00:13:22Ron and I and the brothers,
00:13:23we've had a lot of prayer
00:13:25and consideration before the Lord.
00:13:27And it seems that the Lord is leading us.
00:13:30You know, we want to follow Brother Lee.
00:13:32Of course, he wanted us to do this,
00:13:34to crystallize,
00:13:35follow his crystallization study.
00:13:39And we're looking to the Lord,
00:13:40you know, to crystallize
00:13:41first and second Thessalonians.
00:13:44In those life studies,
00:13:46Brother Lee strongly speaks about
00:13:50the importance of patterns.
00:13:52Of patterns.
00:13:53If you read those life studies,
00:13:54you will see that.
00:13:56Paul presented himself
00:13:58as a pattern to the Thessalonians.
00:14:01He was an exhorting father
00:14:03and a nursing mother.
00:14:04Isn't that amazing?
00:14:06That would be wonderful
00:14:08if I could be a father
00:14:09and a mother to my sons.
00:14:11But I tried to be a nursing mother
00:14:13and I just can't do it
00:14:15in the physical realm.
00:14:17Only Ruthie can do that.
00:14:18My wife, you know.
00:14:20I told you many times
00:14:21when my kids were little,
00:14:22my boys,
00:14:24and Ruth would go off to,
00:14:26you know,
00:14:26she works part-time as a nurse.
00:14:30My boys would say,
00:14:32where's Mommy?
00:14:33I said, Mommy's working.
00:14:34Daddy's baby's sitting at night.
00:14:35They said,
00:14:36no, we want Mommy.
00:14:39We want Mommy.
00:14:41Of course, I just told Lord,
00:14:42you know,
00:14:43I'm only good for exhorting, right?
00:14:46Not for cherishing.
00:14:48Well, that's the function
00:14:49of a father and a mother
00:14:51in the physical realm.
00:14:53But in the spiritual realm,
00:14:54all of us need to be
00:14:55exhorting fathers
00:14:57and cherishing,
00:14:59nursing,
00:15:00gentle mothers.
00:15:02Paul said,
00:15:03I was gentle in your midst.
00:15:05You know, as a mother,
00:15:06would cherish her own children.
00:15:09Many times,
00:15:10we're too rough with new ones, right?
00:15:12We're not like a nursing mother.
00:15:14You know, when you have a baby,
00:15:16you're very gentle with that baby.
00:15:18You don't just, you know,
00:15:20this is how we are with new ones, brothers.
00:15:22You're like this.
00:15:25But you're very gentle.
00:15:27You know,
00:15:28when you want a little baby
00:15:29for the first time,
00:15:30you know,
00:15:30of course, I have four boys.
00:15:32Man, when they were first born,
00:15:33it's like,
00:15:34I was just so afraid, you know.
00:15:36I don't want to drop this baby.
00:15:38That's how we should be with new ones.
00:15:41You see,
00:15:41Paul presented himself
00:15:43as a pattern to us.
00:15:44But he said,
00:15:46the best way to feed others
00:15:47and foster them
00:15:49is to present a pattern to them.
00:15:51Of course,
00:15:52we ourselves need to be patterns.
00:15:55We also need to present,
00:15:57he said,
00:15:58we should present people in the Bible,
00:16:01such as, like tonight,
00:16:02Noah, Daniel, and Job,
00:16:03as patterns to the saints
00:16:05to nurture them
00:16:07and to foster them
00:16:08in living a holy life
00:16:10for the church life.
00:16:11This is the best way
00:16:12to foster people,
00:16:14to nurture them,
00:16:15to cherish them,
00:16:16and to promote
00:16:17and develop
00:16:18and cultivate
00:16:19their growth
00:16:20in the divine life
00:16:21is to present
00:16:22a pattern to them.
00:16:26We all can testify,
00:16:28I think all of us,
00:16:29to one degree or another,
00:16:30of course,
00:16:31those of us
00:16:31who had the privilege
00:16:33of serving with Brother Lee,
00:16:34it wasn't just what he spoke,
00:16:36it was the way he was.
00:16:38So many things he did,
00:16:40he said,
00:16:41or he didn't do,
00:16:43just his being.
00:16:45It was such a pattern to us,
00:16:46it just never ceases
00:16:48to amaze me
00:16:49how he would do one thing
00:16:51and it would stick with you
00:16:52the rest of your life.
00:16:55And how he would say one word
00:16:57and you'd never forget it.
00:16:59Anyway,
00:17:00and it's the same
00:17:01with the saints
00:17:02that we're all being shepherded
00:17:05by one another
00:17:05and it's our pattern.
00:17:08The pattern of the saints
00:17:09is what has fostered us,
00:17:11what has cherished us,
00:17:12what has promoted
00:17:14and cultivated
00:17:15our growth in life
00:17:16for the building up
00:17:17of the body of Christ.
00:17:19So we need such patterns.
00:17:21And what kind of patterns?
00:17:22We need patterns
00:17:23of living an overcoming life.
00:17:26Saints,
00:17:26I want to remind us again
00:17:28in this opening word
00:17:30that the Lord's recovery
00:17:33is to gain the overcomers.
00:17:36We have to remember this.
00:17:37This is very, very critical.
00:17:39What do we give our lives for?
00:17:42What do we,
00:17:42why are we here tonight?
00:17:44We have given our lives
00:17:46to the Lord,
00:17:47our time,
00:17:48our being,
00:17:49our families,
00:17:50our wealth,
00:17:52our future,
00:17:53our all
00:17:54for the goal of God's economy.
00:17:57And what is the goal
00:17:58of God's economy?
00:17:59The goal of God's economy
00:18:01is to build up Zion
00:18:03and Zion signifies
00:18:05the overcomers.
00:18:06the Lord's recovery
00:18:08is to gain God's goal,
00:18:11which is to have
00:18:12an overcoming bride
00:18:14for His marriage.
00:18:18The triune God,
00:18:20He wants to be married.
00:18:21That is His goal.
00:18:23His goal
00:18:24is to
00:18:25gain the bride.
00:18:28When the wife
00:18:29has made herself ready,
00:18:31He will return.
00:18:33Right?
00:18:34We need to allow,
00:18:36it says she's prepared
00:18:38as a bride,
00:18:39adorned for her husband.
00:18:41We need to be prepared.
00:18:43And this is what
00:18:45we're here tonight for,
00:18:46right?
00:18:46We like to open
00:18:47our whole being
00:18:48to Him.
00:18:49To be adorned with Him
00:18:51as gold,
00:18:52silver,
00:18:52and precious stones.
00:18:54So that we can become
00:18:56exactly
00:18:56the same as He is.
00:18:59And we want to be
00:19:00His overcoming bride
00:19:01to bring Him back.
00:19:02The constituents
00:19:03of the bride of Christ
00:19:05are the overcomers.
00:19:08The overcomers,
00:19:09they have the privilege
00:19:10of being there
00:19:12on that wedding day
00:19:13of a thousand years.
00:19:15Of participating
00:19:17in the reward
00:19:18of the millennial kingdom
00:19:19where they feast
00:19:21on Christ
00:19:22and enjoy Christ
00:19:23to the uttermost
00:19:25for a thousand years.
00:19:28And with the Lord,
00:19:30one day
00:19:30is as a thousand years.
00:19:31That is the wedding day.
00:19:34That is why we're here.
00:19:36Eventually,
00:19:36all God's chosen
00:19:38and redeemed people
00:19:39will join the overcomers
00:19:41to be His wife
00:19:42for eternity.
00:19:45But,
00:19:45only the overcomers
00:19:47have the privilege
00:19:48of being there
00:19:49for that wedding day.
00:19:51I like to be,
00:19:52don't you want to be there
00:19:54in that wedding day?
00:19:56Don't you want to be
00:19:57a constituent
00:19:58of the bride of Christ?
00:20:00Surely,
00:20:01we are a constituent
00:20:02of the wife of Christ.
00:20:04We are.
00:20:05But,
00:20:06what about being
00:20:06His bride?
00:20:07I like to be
00:20:08a part of His bride.
00:20:10I like to,
00:20:11I don't want to be
00:20:12in a dark room
00:20:13for a thousand years.
00:20:14I don't want to be
00:20:15in summer school
00:20:16for a thousand years.
00:20:18Summer school
00:20:19is terrible.
00:20:20I don't know
00:20:20if any of you
00:20:21in high school
00:20:21you had to go
00:20:22to summer school.
00:20:23Maybe you,
00:20:24you know,
00:20:25you know,
00:20:25you don't,
00:20:25you know,
00:20:26of course,
00:20:26we don't want to
00:20:27say if we had
00:20:28to go to summer school
00:20:29when we were
00:20:30in high school.
00:20:31But sometimes,
00:20:32you know,
00:20:33you don't,
00:20:33people don't do well
00:20:34as well.
00:20:34They have to go
00:20:35to summer school.
00:20:36And everybody's
00:20:37enjoying the summer
00:20:39and you're
00:20:39in a hot classroom.
00:20:41Oh,
00:20:42it's terrible.
00:20:46Listen,
00:20:47this,
00:20:48we don't want
00:20:49to be
00:20:49in summer school
00:20:51for a thousand years.
00:20:53That's just,
00:20:53that's a,
00:20:53that's a low example.
00:20:55The Bible calls it
00:20:56outer darkness.
00:20:57We don't want
00:20:58to be there.
00:20:58We want to be
00:20:59in the sevenfold
00:21:00intensified
00:21:01heavenly brightness
00:21:03of His glorious presence.
00:21:06Filled with Him
00:21:07as our,
00:21:08as our unique husband.
00:21:10Right?
00:21:11To be His glorious,
00:21:13God-expressing,
00:21:15loving,
00:21:17saturated,
00:21:18God-soaked
00:21:19bride.
00:21:20Amen.
00:21:22That's why we're here.
00:21:23Amen.
00:21:24That is the goal
00:21:25of the Lord's
00:21:26recovery.
00:21:28You know,
00:21:28and Brother Lee
00:21:29pointed out
00:21:29that, you know,
00:21:30towards the end
00:21:30of his ministry
00:21:31in this book,
00:21:32The Satanic Chaos
00:21:33and the Old Creation
00:21:34and the Divine Economy
00:21:35for the New Creation,
00:21:37that in God's sight
00:21:38there are four,
00:21:38there are four races.
00:21:40Throughout human history,
00:21:42there have been
00:21:42four races.
00:21:44And it's not
00:21:44according to our
00:21:45natural concept.
00:21:47According to God's concept,
00:21:49there is the Adamic race.
00:21:51For about 2,000 years,
00:21:53you have the Adamic race.
00:21:55But then,
00:21:56after about 2,000 years,
00:21:58you have the Abrahamic race.
00:22:00And this is the Abrahamic race
00:22:02according to the flesh.
00:22:04God called out Abraham
00:22:06to have a chosen race
00:22:09according to the flesh.
00:22:11But the Adamic race
00:22:13failed God.
00:22:14The Abrahamic race
00:22:15according to the flesh
00:22:16failed God.
00:22:17So in the New Testament,
00:22:18there's another race.
00:22:19The Abrahamic race
00:22:20according to the Spirit.
00:22:23According to Galatians 3,
00:22:24we,
00:22:25all the believers in Christ,
00:22:27are the real sons
00:22:28of Abraham.
00:22:30We are the real circumcision
00:22:32according to Philippians 3.3.
00:22:35We are the real circumcision.
00:22:37We serve by the Spirit of God.
00:22:39We boast in Christ Jesus.
00:22:40We have no confidence
00:22:42in the flesh.
00:22:43That's wonderful.
00:22:44At the end of Romans 2,
00:22:46it says,
00:22:47a real Jew is a Jew
00:22:48who is in the Spirit.
00:22:50Right?
00:22:51And inwardly,
00:22:52we have this real circumcision
00:22:55of the flesh.
00:22:56And inwardly,
00:22:57we serve God
00:22:59in the Spirit.
00:23:00You see,
00:23:01so we're the Abrahamic race
00:23:03according to the Spirit.
00:23:04And God told Abraham,
00:23:07your descendants
00:23:07will be like the sand
00:23:08on the seashore
00:23:10and stars in the heaven.
00:23:12Sand on the seashore
00:23:13are Abraham's
00:23:14earthly descendants.
00:23:15Stars in the heaven
00:23:16are his heavenly
00:23:18spiritual descendants.
00:23:20Which,
00:23:21I am looking at
00:23:22the real sons
00:23:23of Abraham here tonight.
00:23:25Isn't that wonderful?
00:23:26Amen.
00:23:27But even the Abrahamic race
00:23:29according to the Spirit
00:23:30generally failed God.
00:23:32So God needs
00:23:34a fourth race.
00:23:35He needs a fourth race
00:23:37to change this age.
00:23:38What race is this?
00:23:39This is the race
00:23:40of the overcomers.
00:23:43Well, this is God's call
00:23:44in the book of Revelation.
00:23:46Revelation is actually
00:23:48a book on the overcomers.
00:23:51Eventually,
00:23:51you have to realize
00:23:52that at the end of the Bible,
00:23:53the New Jerusalem
00:23:54as the wife of Christ
00:23:55is composed
00:23:56of all the overcomers.
00:23:57Eventually,
00:23:58everybody becomes
00:23:59an overcomer.
00:24:00But,
00:24:01we want to be
00:24:02the overcomers
00:24:03in this age
00:24:04so that we can
00:24:05change the age
00:24:06and turn the age
00:24:08to the age
00:24:09of the millennial kingdom
00:24:10where we are
00:24:12his overcoming bride.
00:24:15Enjoying him
00:24:16and reigning with him
00:24:17for a thousand years
00:24:18to eventually
00:24:19usher in that
00:24:21age of eternity
00:24:22where God
00:24:23is expressed eternally
00:24:24and Satan
00:24:25and every negative thing
00:24:27is swept
00:24:28into the lake of fire.
00:24:31Isn't that wonderful?
00:24:32So, we need to be
00:24:34those living
00:24:34on the line
00:24:35of life.
00:24:37In the Bible,
00:24:38there are two lines.
00:24:39There's the line
00:24:39of the tree of life
00:24:40and the line
00:24:41of the tree
00:24:41of the knowledge
00:24:42of good and evil.
