00:00When modern technology meets old masterpieces, we get to witness works like this, the Impossible Statue.
00:07The 1,100-pound stainless steel statue was made thanks to the latest advances in AI, advanced software solutions, and
00:16precision manufacturing.
00:17Influenced by the iconic work of Michelangelo and August Rodin, the Impossible Statue is an exhibition at the Science Art
00:25Technology Museum in Stockholm, reports Reuters.
00:28Swedish metal cutting tools and mining gear maker Sandvik said the statue was designed by training multiple AI models on
00:36the work of five sculptures, making use of some of their best-known attributes, such as, for example, Michelangelo's dynamic
00:43off-balance poses and Rodin's musculature and reflectiveness.
00:47We used very many AI models in this project.
00:50The first ones were image synthesis models, and multiple ones, because it was important that those models understood not only
00:57the artists, but also the context in which they created art, so different eras in time and that sort of
01:03thing.
01:03Once we were able to create images that really embodied the spirit of these artists, we also had new models
01:09that created 3D models that understood how the human body was posed and shaped and fabric, all that kind of
01:15stuff, that culminated in a final 3D model, which could then be manufactured.
01:20I thought to appear to be tortured.
