00:23and its related meetings here in Cebu.
00:25On behalf of the Philippine Government, the Office of the President, the ASEAN 2026 National Organizing Committee,
00:33it is my pleasure to welcome you all, dedicated members of the local, national, and international media,
00:40to this space dedicated to making your coverage of the ASEAN Summit not only with ease and comfort but meaningful
00:49and fulfilling.
00:50This International Media Center, which we open today, is more than just a workspace.
00:57It is a strategic hub designed to support and empower your crucial role in covering one of the most significant
01:04regional gatherings this year.
01:06From the related meetings, starting May 5, through the main 48th Summit on May 8,
01:15we want to ensure that you have everything you need to report accurately, efficiently, and effectively.
01:22Here you will find equipped workstations, high-speed internet connection, charging stations, briefing rooms,
01:29and technical support to help you file your stories without delay.
01:36In addition, this facility houses the International Broadcast Center,
01:40which includes fully equipped broadcast booths, receiving host broadcast pool feeds,
01:46dedicated stand-up positions for live and recorded reporting,
01:50and a centralized master control room that manages signal routing and feed distribution to accredited broadcasters.

02:05needed to deliver seamless, real-time coverage of the summit to audiences across the region and beyond.
02:13And of course, there will always be coffee, flowing coffee.
02:16We also set up areas for regular briefings, interviews, and access to official information,
02:23such as fact sheets, statements, and updates from the proceedings.
02:27Our team of media liaison officers is on standby to assist with accreditation concerns, scheduling, logistics,
02:36and other needs that may arise during your coverage.
02:40The purpose of this center is straightforward, to help you get the story out.
02:45Whether you represent a major international or ASEAN media media organization,
02:51a regional broadcaster, a national newspaper, or a local outlet,
02:56your work plays a vital role in bringing the discussions, decisions, and the spirit of ASEAN cooperation
03:03to audiences across Southeast Asia and beyond.
03:08With the impact of the Middle East tension bearing heavily on Asia upon the initiative of His Excellency
03:16President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the leaders have refocused the agenda to include discussions on energy security
03:23and a unified response to mitigate negative effects on individual member states.
03:29Also, disaster resilience is part of the agenda under which ASEAN member states commit to collaborative frameworks
03:38that enhance community-based early warning systems, rapid humanitarian response, and support for affected populations,
03:47ensuring that volcanic disasters like the one we have with the Mayon volcano today do not undermine vulnerable communities,
03:57but instead drive inclusive, people-oriented, people-centered resilience strategies among member states across the region.
04:05Through your reporting, the world will understand the outcomes on regional peace and security, economic integration,
04:13sustainable development, and our shared commitment to navigating our future together.
04:18We are committed to making your job easier so that you can focus on what you do best,
04:23delivering timely, insightful, and balanced coverage.
04:26We recognize that covering a high-level summit involves long hours, tight deadlines,
04:32and the pressure to deliver accurate information amid a dynamic schedule.
04:37That is why we established this facility to reduce those barriers and provide a professional, comfortable,
04:44and secure environment where you can work effectively.
