The Philippines is now under a state of national energy emergency.

President Marcos has signed Executive Order No. 110, declaring a state of national energy emergency in light of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East which has impacted the "availability and stability" of the country's energy supply.

00:36The program directs authorities to monitor fuel, food, medicines and other essentials, ensure public transport, utilities and hospitals operate without
00:45disruption and crack down on hoarding or profiteering.
00:49The Department of Energy is authorized to implement energy saving and conservation measures, secure fuel supply and intervene in the
00:56electricity market if needed.
00:58Government offices and local units are required to adopt energy efficiency measures, while the private sector is urged to support
01:05supply chains, reduce fuel demand and prevent unfair pricing.
01:09The energy emergency will remain in effect for one year, with funding sourced from existing government budgets and additional allocations
01:17as necessary.
