00:00good old jason bishop is back what's up what's up happy birthday happy belated birthday to you
00:08appreciate it appreciate it john paul flame is here what's up casey hello good morning and eric
00:14bickle here as well i do a lot of maneuvering this morning because the tractor trailer oh
00:20i guess caused a big backup which went all the way back to 270 from the alb oh that's oh
00:27really
00:27stinks so i swerved the connecticut avenue which i believe is the way eb comes into work every day
00:32man there's a lot of 25 mile per hour oh and a billion devices and cameras you better be careful
00:38i was you better be careful because you'll get a present uh i didn't have any blinking lights at me
00:43i drive about 27 miles an hour in yeah but it goes from 35 to 25 like you gotta oh
00:49yeah you gotta be
00:50paying attention vigilant at all times yeah yeah but it the one thing i like about it's consistent
00:55there's you know if there's ever god forbid an accident maybe once or twice you just take the
01:00next block over go around it next block in you're back on you know i'm saying with the way the
01:04grid
01:05works um we get you get an accident or something on american legion bridge or gw parkway or bw parkway
01:10you're boned yeah it's not great you're boned yeah i got tired to come in here and buying breakfast
01:16for everybody um yeah that's not fun dipping into your pocket it's not everybody pointing and laughing
01:22enjoying breakfast on your dime it's not fun it's also it's actually weird because if i go
01:27no one cares but if i go gw parkway it's like 27 miles or something it takes you all around
01:32if i go
01:33just you know down connecticut it's like nine miles right well with the price of gas i would save gas
01:40as much as possible yeah i'm envious of cakes every time like when he told me it's like yeah i've
01:49gone
01:49fossil fuel burners too i understand i got some gas guzzlers that are in the driveway presently
01:56but what are you gonna do but when you take this car to work you don't have to stop the
02:00gas station
02:00put in 450 a gallon that is true i just i do have to sweat whether i'm gonna get a
02:05charging spot this
02:06morning both are full i'm up to create i'm i'm boned for electricity go down every break to check
02:13no i'm not gonna do that eight o'clock you'll check one decent enough charge i'm good to go
02:17yeah plus tomorrow i'm doing a very short hop from here to mgm national harbor and we're spending the
02:23entire day there because tomorrow is the cakes classic they have chargers there they actually
02:28don't but it's stone's throw it's it's so close you have you have you have a home charger i do
02:34yeah
02:34but it's a number it's not like the it takes forever yeah it's like i think i get like around
02:40four miles per hour charge it's a number i just plug it's basically useless i mean it's borderline
02:48useless it's borderline it's not it's like you have one of those phone chargers that you know
02:51it's going to take all night it's not high powered like the charger here in the garage here they have
02:56a legit charge you legit mine you plug directly into a normal outlet it's just it's what i got from
03:04the dealer it's nubs but what are you gonna do if you're gonna be an electric guy you need to
03:09step out i haven't yeah i've had the car for like four years yeah so jason how was your lawrence
03:14taylor it was fine weather was great that was the best part of the day that was unbelievable i had
03:21to go to spectacular day i had to go to costco love costco love it i'd love to be with
03:26their their
03:26uh new costco guy in 2026 my knees let's make that happen i had to go to costco was it
03:31packed
03:32no because i got there at 10 right when it opened over the early hour yeah yeah yeah would you
03:37have
03:38the normal i had to get you know i had to get the paper towels and toilet paper all the
03:42necessities
03:43all kinds of stuff and then i had to go to dmv not just once but twice costco and the
03:48dmv on your
03:49birthday i mean yeah yeah sounds like a terrible birthday it was fun terrible birthday dmv i had to
03:54go twice why what are you doing because i went the first time my license expired so i had to
03:58get a new
03:58license you didn't make an appointment i did but i didn't have the appropriate documentation
04:04they said they said you needed i thought i just needed my uh social security card and proof of
04:10residency everything they wanted passport yeah and birth certificate right they want it all so i
04:15had to go back to the house and go back it was just a nightmare that is a nightmare and
04:19that was
04:19that was pretty crowded yeah so it wasn't as crowded as when i went to costco on sunday morning
04:27sunday a little bit before nine o'clock now i'm a silly costco executive club member so you can go
04:33i've got the black card yeah i'm allowed to go one hour early on sunday they open from nine to
04:39ten
04:39for executive club members only they do here's the problem there's a billion executive club members i
04:46mean i'm an executive i showed up at 858 i'm like okay there'll be a line but it'll be short
04:51the line literally stretched down 80 of the front of the building it stretched from the entrance where
04:59all the carts are lined up yeah down to like the tire center so i'm like okay you know what
05:03i'm just
05:03gonna let i'm gonna let these idiots who've been in line for 15 minutes waiting race out there i'm
05:08gonna let them filter in and then i'll just jump into the line so i wait a few minutes in
05:12my car
05:13i walk up the line is starting to move there's also a group of 20 people with carts that are
05:19lined up
05:20right near the entrance that are refusing to get in well they're refusing to stand in the line yeah
05:25like they don't know how lines work like why would they wait in line just wait in your car
05:29i mean that's basically what i did but yeah then i saw a line and realized well okay i have
05:34to get in
05:34the line like everybody else i don't know what these people are doing and then what one karen is
05:39yelling at the at the employees like you need to open a second line for people to get in we've
05:45been
05:45waiting here longer than the people in line and the guy who's wearing the red costco vest says
05:50ma'am there's one line it's down there you have to get in the line so i just walked and
05:56got in the line
05:56and eventually she had to do the same thing just just wouldn't stop yapping at the costco employees
06:02just get in line in the first place there's one line for everybody yeah i just stay away simple
06:08stay away on on sundays can't do costco on the weekends can't do it yeah i think during the week
06:13case you should take advantage of the fact that you're off at 10 i yeah i do that sometimes yeah
06:18but i did i i needed items yeah i was running low on items and so so costco on your
06:25birthday any
06:26presents yeah i got some presents from the fam from my wife and daughters any good ones some
06:31golf shirts uh no ties no cologne no none of those things uh looks like you got a new jacket
06:38i've never
06:39seen that one that still has the creases in it yeah this is from uh our good friends over at
06:44golf them worldwide by world well of course because you have a ten thousand dollar gift card
06:49at golf yep and i've used about nine thousand i mean i just want a great hookup so what the
06:54fam
06:54hook you up with um let's see my wife got me she just got me cocktail glasses six six of
07:02them
07:02support your booze habit that's nice that's all she got me but i told my family i don't want anything
07:07i said don't get me anything right and my um because you're a miser kind of a miser yeah see
07:14what
07:15my daughter gave me oh my daughter just gave me uh like a card with a like a gift card
07:20in it nice
07:22um it wasn't great i mean it was fine i don't want i don't want any presents i just wanted
07:26to
07:26sleep in which i did yeah and get my chores done which i did perfect and enjoy the weather which
07:32i
07:32did you missed our anniversary show which we didn't really plan for but it kind of mushroom clouded into
07:36a show just about us yeah celebrating the 30 years a lot of back padding oh so so t perk
07:43texted me
07:44he goes hey you guys are going to be on 11 14 you know we're going to do the uh
07:48the segment at 11
07:4914 i said okay but i missed that because i was at costco yeah and then i at 5 14
07:53it was coming on
07:54again okay all right so my my daughters sat down they wanted to watch my wife and my daughters
07:59so it's 5 14 and they ran about 20 seconds of it it came breaking news because there was a
08:06shooting at
08:06the the mall oh no that's trouble so they didn't get to see got to bop the junks they ran
08:10it back at
08:11like 6 55 and then they ran it back later in the evening as well they ran it a bunch
08:15of times
08:16yeah we got to say a huge shout out to them and to everybody that reached out yesterday i i
08:21i much
08:21like you jp did not expect the day to sort of mushroom into that you know just people just being
08:27so nice
08:27so many so many people that i got a million texts so many people that we follow and listen to
08:34and read
08:35um just reaching out and showing appreciate i almost felt like we died it was like tributes
08:42pouring in yeah it was a live funeral kind of close it felt like i was like this might be
08:47what it'd be
08:47like if i was dead um but it was really really nice and you know valdez and drab did a
08:52great job
08:53putting all that together and uh anyway it was just a it was a really nice day unexpected didn't
08:58expect it to turn out that way uh but appreciate everybody you're right though there were a lot of
09:03people in the industry whether it was people like tom livero or pal scott abraham and just
09:09countless others like andy poland reached out said something that just blew my mind he said he thinks
09:14and he would know he's like a radio historian he thinks and he started he was there at the beginning
09:19of wfn he thinks we're the longest running show in the format radio inside in history
09:26in the sports radio yeah it's pretty good that's that's a good feather in the cap because think about
09:31it mike and mad dog are the most famous yeah they broke up i don't know how long they lasted
09:36at
09:36least 20 years right i would think at least 20 but they broke up i mean mad dog's been doing
09:42his
09:42thing for a while yeah mike was on his own for a while yeah yeah so yeah i reached i
09:48reached back
09:48to andy we were actually colleagues with andy poland for a while yeah but yeah it was cool seeing all
09:53those people in the industry who you know some people that were never our colleagues for a while like
09:58kevin sheehan another person um and then just i actually probably tweeted back and on instagram
10:05and facebook a couple hundred people just reached out that have been listening to the show for years
10:11and years i mean somebody sent us a picture of their baby wearing a junkies outfit in 2007 and
10:19the person was like yeah she's in college now yeah that's the way it works yeah i also find it
10:25interesting that people are like yeah i've only been listening 14 years yeah or you know
10:31like apologetic about 14 years it's crazy you know people seem to measure sort of uh i don't know
10:38there's some sort of uh reward or something like oh i've been there since day one or i've been there
10:44since 2001 or i've been there since 2004 and it's actually kind of cool people just kind of once they
10:49get in they kind of lock in yeah i told somebody somebody they almost feel guilty if they're a new
10:54listener and somebody said oh i stumbled onto you during covid i feel bad like i didn't listen before
11:00it's like hey that's cool we'll take a new listener today of course if you listen to our show right
11:05now
11:05for the first time welcome aboard you're always welcome but what's crazy the people that come and
11:10they say i've been listening to you since 1996 yeah yeah i know it's crazy i mean it's rare
11:15but they're still out there it's not that rare we got a good amount of people that you know listen
11:20to
11:20just think about wgfk with don and mike and then one show for 30 years it's just it's crazy yeah
11:26yeah
11:26so much appreciative uh very cool day thanks again to nbc4 for doing the piece on us um they're
11:34going to put a longer form segment because we did that bit with who's the most likely to
11:39and we had little faces um right they're going to do that which can be like a 30 minute piece
11:44they're going to post that later so we'll let you know very good all right coming up on a tuesday
11:49we're going to be visited in the studio by two members of the brand new okgc member of live
11:58or team from live it's taylor gooch and harold varner the third they're going to be in studio with
12:05us as the live tour comes to trump national this weekend i need to get them to leave the hotel
12:11a
12:11little bit earlier than they're planning on doing it i mean they're scheduled at eight but i heard
12:15what time they're planning on leaving the hotel believe me i'm texting them back and forth they
12:18would need to fly on the concord they need to leave like fifth half hour 45 minutes earlier than
12:24what they have planned you know what i'm not going to put a time for them they're scheduled to be
12:28in
12:28studio with us at some point during the show today maybe maybe i don't know all right i just
12:35don't know if they'll make it because if they have to be somewhere at 8 30 it ain't gonna work
12:39probably not i'm going back and forth right now with them yeah all right so two members of the
