00:01Commuting just got cheaper for thousands of Malaysian workers.
00:05Express Rail Link has launched two new monthly travel passes aimed at making daily commutes more affordable for airport workers
00:11and civil servants in the Klang Valley.
00:13The My KLIA Monthly Travel Card, which is exclusively for employees working at KLIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
00:20And My Putrajaya Monthly Travel Card, which is for civil servants working or living in Putrajaya or Saibajaya.
00:26Transport Minister Anthony Lok said the initiative is part of the government's response to the ongoing Middle East crisis and
00:33its impact on fuel costs.
00:35He confirmed that no government funds are being used. The discounts are absorbed entirely by ERL as the concessionaire.
00:41So we hope that everyone can play a part, including our concessionaire, to play a part to help the government
00:47in terms of offering affordable fares for commuters,
00:54especially those who are committing on a daily basis.
00:57This initiative runs for a three-month trial period, and Lok said it will only be extended if there is
01:02a strong public response.
01:04Both passes are available for purchase up to July 1 and can be renewed after 31 days. Only Malaysians are
01:10eligible.
