01:21Hooray!
01:30Hey, Carlos!
01:31Wanna play a game?
01:35Your tree fell down?
01:37That's terrible
01:40You have to move away if you can't find a new home?
01:46Bye, Carlos!
01:47This is awful
01:48I can't lose my best buddy
01:50How can I help Carlos?
02:04Hey, brave explorers
02:05Don't you just love mornings like this?
02:08Every morning, I spend some time reading this book
02:12It's not always easy to read
02:14In fact, when I started reading it
02:17Some parts were hard work
02:18But I'm glad I didn't give up
02:20I've learned a lot
02:22Now, where was I?
02:24Oh!
02:24That's right!
02:25About to appreciate some good old fashioned peace
02:30And...
02:31Quiet
02:33But it never seems to last
02:38Hey, Iggy?
02:44Iggy?
02:49Iggy?
02:50Iggy?
02:51Oh!
02:53Mr. Kirk, you scared me!
02:55Oh!
02:56I'm sorry, what are you doing?
02:58Failing!
02:58That's what I'm doing, failing
03:01Failing?
03:02Yeah, I'm trying to build something
03:03But every time I come close to being done
03:05It keeps falling apart
03:06I think I'm just gonna give up
03:08I mean, you could give up
03:10You just won't be able to show me what you were making
03:13I really wanna show you
03:15It does look pretty hard
03:17I should be able to do it on the first try
03:20Things don't usually go that way, Iggs
03:22Well, they should
03:24I'm never building again
03:26Oh, somebody's here
03:27I'll get it
03:32Creative Lee!
03:34What are you doing here?
03:35Well, I heard a lot of noise coming from the tree house
03:38And I thought, surely these guys aren't doing crafts without me
03:40I was building something, but I'm taking a break
03:43Well, it sounds like I came just in time
03:46Who's ready to get crafty?
03:47I am
03:48Yeah!
03:49Come on
03:50So, we're going to make a very simple yet fun craft
03:56A squirrel feeder
03:57That's right, we're making it out of milk cartons
03:59We've got a hole cut
04:01Okay, I forgot to cut the hole
04:03So, that's gonna take a little bit of time
04:05I don't sound so hard
04:06I'm sick of things taking forever
04:08Well, come on now
04:09Let's do the hard work
04:10And at the end, we'll have a fantastic craft
04:12Let's get going
04:13We'll be off to the races
04:15That's a good circle
04:16Is a good circle
04:18Look at that
04:19You're good at that
04:20You're welcome
04:21Thanks for helping me
04:22Of course
04:23Anytime
04:24What do you think Iggy?
04:26Oh, that's good
04:27That's really good
04:30Well done
04:31See, that wasn't so bad
04:33Now we're gonna have an amazing squirrel feeder
04:35All that's left to do
04:36Is zhuzh it up a bit
04:38I love glitter
04:39So I'm gonna put a little glitter here
04:41Little glitter here
04:42Little glitter here
04:44You can never have too much glitter
04:45See where I'm going with this?
04:47Then we take the marker
04:49And design away
04:50Make it your own
04:51This isn't so hard
04:53It's fun to do work
04:54That's right
04:55Sometimes hard work can be fun work
04:56Yes
05:09And just like that
05:12You have your very own squirrel feeder
05:14That's nuts!
05:15It is!
05:16Thanks for the craft
05:17Oh, I always love doing crafts with you guys
05:19I just hope we didn't use too much glitter
05:21I hope the squirrels don't keep you up all night with a squirrel disco party
05:25You know how they get
05:27Anyway
05:30Bye
05:34I love your feeder
05:36Oh
05:38So much to do
05:39So much to do
05:41Good afternoon
05:43Or good night
05:44What?
05:45Oh wait
05:46Good morning
05:46Good morning mailman Dan
05:49Are you okay?
05:50I'm fine
05:50It's just been a very long and busy day
05:53How can the day be so long?
05:55It's still only morning
05:56Yeah, I know
05:58But I had to take on two routes today
06:00Because another mailman called in sick
06:04It's gonna be so hard
06:06Oh, you wanna just come play with us?
06:08Oh, I would
06:10But I have all these packages to deliver
06:12Oh, I thought you said it was gonna be too hard
06:15Oh, it is gonna be hard
06:16But I can do hard things
06:18That's the attitude
06:21Well, I better be going
06:22Because I have to deliver all these packages
06:25And time's a ticking
06:27Uh, mailman Dan
06:27Yeah?
06:28Did one of those packages happen to be for us?
06:31Oh, yes!
06:33That's why I came over here
06:35Thanks for the reminder
06:37Have a good day now
06:38Thanks
06:39Be careful
06:44I'm okay!
06:46Split my pants!
06:52Wow, he's still gonna deliver all those extra packages
06:55Yeah, good for him
06:58It will take me forever to build this
07:02Hey, looks like Maple has some messages for us
07:05Race ya!
07:06You're on!
07:07Go!
07:16Hello, Maple
07:17Good morning, Mr. Kirk
07:19It was a quiet morning, wasn't it?
07:22Until it wasn't
07:23Isn't that right, Iggy?
07:25I know!
07:26Those birds can be so loud sometimes
07:28Nothing like some good old construction noise to drown them out
07:31And scare them away
07:32You're welcome, Maple
07:36How about those questions?
07:38Ready and waiting
07:39Wa-bam!
07:42Hi, Mr. Kirk
07:43And Iggy
07:44And Iggy
07:45This is so cool
07:47It's nice to meet you
07:48What's your name?
07:49And what can we do for you?
07:50I'm Avery
07:51And I'm a softball player
07:52I've been struggling recently at bat to hit the ball
07:55And I was wondering if you had any tips or techniques
07:58Oh, do you know how to play smack a ball?
08:01You can use anything to hit the ball
08:04I don't think that's allowed in softball
08:07I'm all out of advice
08:08Your turn
08:10Thanks
08:12Avery, the fact that you're calling in to try and get better
08:14Is a step in the right direction
08:16I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get better
08:19I come home and practice every day until dinner
08:22But I'm just not getting better
08:25Have you checked your hand position?
08:27Yep
08:28How about switching your bat?
08:29Try that
08:30Turning your hips?
08:31Yes
08:33Hmm
08:34How are you practicing?
08:35I just throw the ball up and hit it into the net over and over
08:40I have an idea
08:41Why don't you have your mom or dad pitch it to you
08:44So you're actually hitting a moving ball like you would in a game
08:49That's it
08:50I'll have my brother pitch to me
08:52Thanks, Mr. Kirk
08:54Thanks, Ziggy
08:56Wow
08:56She was intense
08:58She really didn't want to give up
09:00No, she didn't
09:01She was super determined and willing to work hard
09:04Yeah
09:06You have to move away if you can't find a new home?
09:12I can't lose my best buddy
09:13How can I help Carlos?
09:19Remember when you were struggling to hit the ball in your Little League Smack-A-Ball games?
09:24And you tried using everything you could think of
09:26I think at one point you even used a mop
09:29Oh, yeah
09:30I tried a tree branch, surfboard, skateboard, broom, mop, baseball bat
09:33My friend Gary the Bat
09:35Right, and then I think eventually you wound up using your tail
09:38Yeah, I would line up at the plate as that coconut came
09:42I would
09:43Get ya, get ya, get ya, get ya, get ya, get ya, get ya
09:47You never saw it coming
09:48No, they didn't
09:50No, they didn't
09:50It was amazing
09:54You kept trying and trying until you finally figured it out
09:59Yeah, I did
10:02Whatcha thinking, Iggs?
10:05You know, I'm trying to build something, but every time I come close to being done it keeps falling apart
10:09I think I'm just gonna give up
10:11It does look pretty hard
10:13I'm never building again
10:17Um, maybe we could read our new book first?
10:21Sounds like a plan
10:31Look, this one's called Fiona's Fantastical Fort
10:36Once upon a time, in a fort, in a park, in a town, on an island called Freedom Island
10:43A lioness named Fiona was imagining
10:46Little Fiona was imagining great, big, fantastical things
10:50She imagined the fort she built out of twigs was actually the best cottage in the world
10:56It had a cupboard that never ran out of gingerbread
10:59And little animals would drop by to share tea and tell stories on their way through the woods
11:04You see all those animals, Iggy?
11:06Look at the squirrels and the...
11:08Is that Carlos?
11:09I bet it is
11:11Or maybe his cousin
11:13Fiona called to the other animal children
11:15Look, I made a cottage, do you wanna play with me?
11:18But the others hardly even looked up from their books and their games
11:21One lion waved a paw at her
11:24Sorry kid, I don't have time for your twigs
11:28Fiona's shoulders fell
11:30They're not just twigs, it's a cottage
11:33Why can't you see it?
11:34That night, the wind blew
11:37Over the hills of Tokoto
11:43It tossed the flowers and it shook the trees
11:46In the morning, Fiona took her father to see the cottage
11:50But the wind had blown it all away
11:53Fiona's lip trembled, and her father hugged her tight
11:58I'm sorry, my sunshine, but windstorms are a part of life.
12:02Keep your head up, keep working hard, and I know you can build a fort that's even better
12:06than before.
12:08So Fiona imagined again and got right to work.
12:13The elephants offered Fiona some boards, and Mrs. Bear even gave her some paint.
12:19Fiona spent days building and building.
12:22At long last, she stepped back to see all she had done.
12:26Fiona had built the snazziest mansion ever.
12:29It had a teleporter in the basement, gadgets behind all the bookshelves, and a phone that
12:35let her reach anyone, anywhere.
12:38And she'd built it with boards, not twigs, so the wind wouldn't blow it away.
12:43Fiona called the other children again.
12:45Look, I need a top-secret mansion.
12:48Do you want to come inside?
12:50But the others hardly listened.
12:51I don't have time to poke around your stack of boards.
12:55The lion yawned.
12:57I'm busy reading.
12:58Fiona sighed.
13:00But it's so much more than a stack of boards.
13:02If only you could see it.
13:04It's got a basement, and a telephone, and it's much bigger on the inside.
13:09But nothing could convince them to join her.
13:12That night, the wind blew, and it brought the rain, pitter-patter, splitter-splatter, rushing
13:24all over the hills of Tokoto.
13:26It flooded the rivers, and it ran through the fields.
13:31In the morning, Fiona took her father to see the mansion, but the rain had washed it all
13:36away.
13:37Tears rushed to Fiona's eyes.
13:39I did what you said, but look.
13:42All my hard work was for nothing.
13:45Her father held her little paws in his big ones.
13:49Your work's never for nothing, my sunshine.
13:52Keep your head up, keep working hard, and I know you can build a fort that's even better
13:57than before.
13:57So Fiona dried her eyes and set to work.
14:01Fiona gathered more boards and paint and nails, too.
14:04She sawed them down and built them up.
14:07It took even more time than before, but at long last, her fort was done.
14:14This was by far the most fantastical fort that Fiona had ever built.
14:20That afternoon, when the lion and his friends arrived at the park, they found the most amazing
14:26castle ever.
14:28Slowly, the lion walked up to the front door and knocked.
14:32He was answered by a lioness in a beautiful dress.
14:36Yes.
14:36Golly.
14:37Said the lion.
14:38This is the most amazing castle I've ever seen.
14:41I'm sorry I was rude to you before.
14:44He held out his paw.
14:46Will you forgive me and be my friend?
14:48Of course I forgive you.
14:50Said Fiona.
14:51The lion beamed.
14:53I'm glad you kept building, even when I didn't see what you were doing.
14:57My name is Arthur, by the way.
14:59Greetings, Sir Arthur.
15:01She curtsied?
15:02I'm Fiona Sunshine, queen of Castle Fantastical.
15:06For the rest of the day, they played in the castle, which really was the most fantastical
15:11castle ever.
15:13They saw plays in the castle's new theater and ate a feast in the gardens, before chasing
15:18away a fiery dragon through the halls.
15:22Fiona remembered what her father told her.
15:24Come rain or shine, they kept going, kept building, and kept looking for chances to make
15:29the fort even better.
15:31And they did.
15:33There in the fort, in a park, in a town, on an island called Freedom Island, Fiona and
15:39her friends kept imagining.
15:43Oh wow, look at Arthur and Fiona.
15:45They're all grown up and they're married.
15:47The end.
15:50Wow, even after all those storms, Fiona never gave up.
15:54Yeah, even though the storms were difficult, she kept trying and she built an amazing fort.
15:59It was probably tough for her to keep going, though.
16:02Yeah.
16:05It probably was.
16:11That's going to take a little bit of time.
16:13It sounds so hard.
16:14I'm sick of things taking forever.
16:15Well, come on now.
16:16Let's do the hard work and at the end we'll have a fantastic craft.
16:20I thought you said it was going to be too hard.
16:22Oh, it is going to be hard.
16:24But I can do hard things.
16:26That's the attitude.
16:28This isn't so hard.
16:30It's fun to do work.
16:31That's right.
16:32Sometimes hard work can be fun work.
16:33You kept trying and trying until you finally figured it out.
16:38Yeah, I did.
16:42Whatcha thinking, Iggs?
16:45That I can do hard things too.
16:48That's my boy!
17:04Good.
17:05Okay.
17:05Here.
17:06Let's try it this way.
17:07Okay.
17:08Try that.
17:09Oh!
17:10That's better.
17:15Good.
17:16That's looking good.
17:17Yeah.
17:18Looking good.
17:19Good.
17:21Good.
17:22Good.
17:22Good.
17:23You like this?
17:24Almost.
17:25There you go.
17:34I did it!
17:35I did it!
17:36I can't believe I actually did it.
17:37You sure did.
17:38What's it for anyway?
17:40Carlo's tree fell down so I made him this house so he can stay forever.
17:46I'm proud of you.
17:48You are a good friend.
17:51Thanks.
17:52God does say, love your neighbor.
18:01There we go.
18:02Hope we're not too late.
18:04Carlos, where are you?
18:07Check this out!
18:12Great job!
18:14I think he loves it!
18:16Perfect!
18:17I didn't realize all this working hard would be such hard work.
18:21I'm gonna sleep well tonight.
18:22I think I will too.
18:24And listen, if you hadn't given up, Carlos would still not have a roof over his head.
18:30Yeah, hard work really does pay off.
18:33Can I sleep in the tree house tonight so Carlos isn't all alone?
18:37Yes.
18:38Of course.
18:39Yes.
18:46Alright.
18:47Time for bed, mister.
18:57May the Lord bless you and keep you and be gracious unto you and give you peace.
19:04Good night, Iggs.
19:05Good night.
19:07And good night, brave explorers.
19:17Tomorrow we'll be back.
19:22To face the day unafraid.
19:26To learn new things, explore and play, sing and praise.
19:33But it's night time now, as we lay our heads to rest, feeling grateful and blessed to have this time
19:46together.
19:48Because that always makes it better.
19:53Sleep tight, good night.
20:01Good night.
20:05Good night, kitty.
20:08Oh, my God.
