00:00Is this, Tiago Splitter, is this a good hire for the Chicago Bulls?
00:05Yeah, it's fantastic, guys. It's a home run hire.
00:08And I know I've been on here a lot in recent years and been very, very critical of the Bulls
00:12and Bulls management
00:13and a lot of what's occurred there.
00:16I haven't all that critical of the coach because I'm a big Billy Donovan fan.
00:19But Billy Donovan was going to leave. It was what it was.
00:22It was time for him, time for the Bulls.
00:24And Splitter is fantastic.
00:27You watch what happened with Portland this year.
00:29Think about where they were.
00:30One game into the season, Chauncey Billups gets taken away in handcuffs.
00:34And that's it. Done for the season.
00:36Splitter inherits this job and takes them not only to the play-in tournament,
00:40but to win in the play-in tournament and then play the Spurs in the first round of the playoffs.
00:45The Blazers weren't really ready for that in terms of where they were in their stages of development.
00:50Tiago Splitter took them there.
00:52He was able to essentially take a really bad situation with Chauncey Billups
00:56and kind of cocoon all of the outside noise.
01:00And get these guys focusing and concentrating.
01:02And I think one of the things you have to look at regarding Splitter's tenure
01:05is the guys that really improved for the Blazers.
01:09You know, Denny Avdi was in the conversation for most improved player this year.
01:13He was a guy that I, if they had not made Cunningham and Donchich eligible for an All-NBA team,
01:19I was putting Denny Avdi on an All-NBA team.
01:21That's how good he was this year.
01:23Scoot Henderson was a lost draft pick until Splitter got his hands on him when he came back healthy.
01:27Looked really good at the end of the year.
01:29Shaden Sharpe's a guy Blazers were very high on.
01:32He definitely struggled before Splitter took over.
01:35Splitter took over.
01:36He had a better year this year.
01:37Your young guys got better with Splitter.
01:39And I bring that up because that is what the Bulls need.
01:42The Bulls need some of these young guys to really improve and just, you know,
01:48add to their games and have a coach that puts them in spots to succeed
01:52and a coach that supports them in getting better.
01:54So I think, you know, Bulls, you know, listen,
01:56Bryson Graham's going to come take this thing over and do it his way.
01:58I think the Bulls need somebody to do that.
02:00This is an excellent coach.
02:02Let's just make sure as time goes on and get an ownership group
02:04that's willing to cooperate on the financial side.
02:06And I think the Bulls will have something here.
