00:02We're going live to the Netherlands for statements of the Venezuelan Foreign Minister,
00:07Ivan Hill. Let's listen. The political team of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
00:19coordinated and instructed by the acting president, Nelson Rodriguez, we made presence
00:24here in this first day, bringing in the first place the truth of Venezuela. The truth of Venezuela
00:32that has been qualified and instructed by the Venezuelan people. If we recall the referendum
00:39of December 3rd in 2023 with a clear mandate, Venezuela throughout history has stated that it does
00:49not recognizes the jurisdiction of the international court justice for the case of the territorial
00:56controversy with the Republic of Guayana in regards with Guayana-Esequiba, a territory that
01:02is Venezuelan that historically belongs to us, that the titles said so, but we have come here
01:13fulfilling the commitment to come and express the historic truth, the legitimate truth of our
01:18liberators that gave us that territory in which we are defending and we are going to continue
01:26to defend in all spaces, but mainly through direct negotiation, the way it was signed, the
01:35way it was agreed to in the Geneva agreement of 1966 by the then, for then, by the then colonial
01:44power, Great Britain, the birthing Republic of Guayana and the government of Venezuela. The 1966 Geneva
01:58agreement is the only legitimate framework to arrive to a satisfied consensus negotiated solution for both sides.
02:10and we have seen that, and we have come here. We can say that it has been proven that there
02:17is not another solution that direct negotiation. We have seen false arguments, manipulation of information, of the proof that exists
02:27that the territory of Guayana-Esequiba is Venezuelan, trying to mold, trying to find with technicalities to think that through
02:37the international court of justice,
02:38the which we do not recognize, which we do not recognize to deal with this issue, resolve a political issue,
02:45an issue of controversy between two countries. The only way, I repeat again, is the direct negotiation to which, sooner
02:52or later, Guayana will be forced to sit on the table to negotiate with us. We will continue, of course,
03:00here, deploy this team, this political team in the head, and wherever it needs to be, to work, to defend
03:07the
03:08and to uphold the rights of the Bolivarian homeland. And to uphold the rights of the Bolivarian homeland.
03:23The main proof is in Venezuelan history. The title that Venezuela possesses over that territory. The memorandum is simply an
03:36element that proves the malice with which the fraud of the arbitral award of 1899 was carried out.
03:48Which is also known. And it is so known that the Republic of Guayana and the United Kingdom signed the
03:58Geneva agreement of 1966, which finishes that arbitrary award. Because we agreed, both sides, that that arbitrary award is known.
04:07And we began precisely that year, 1966, a direct negotiation to resolve the controversy.
04:12So there's nothing to discuss. So there's nothing to discuss. The proof that are there. The proof are clear. The
04:19titles that Venezuela possesses since its creation, since the...
04:25And the memorandum is just one more element that describes the perversion that was around the trap of the arbitral
04:39award.
04:51Well, that's part of the political show. We repeat, nothing that was presented today contradicts the rights of Venezuela.
05:07Venezuela. They have not been able to prove that there is another version that other that that the Guayana Ezequiva
05:15is a Venezuelan territory.
05:18And that is the will of the Venezuelan people. Foreign Minister conclude in words of the president, the defense of
05:29the historic truth that people are watching through the screen.
05:37a commission integrated by experts academics that seek for an integration of our defense
05:45that truly goes with the beginning of what venezuela it's prosecutors the general prosecutor
05:54agents lawyers that for years have been working the document stage where it's proven the rights
06:06the legitimate rights of venezuela what comes is demonstrate the people of venezuela and the
06:15international community that this legitimate rights are real are true and cannot be debated
06:21and that's what we're going to see in the next days with this team here in the hague and in
06:27the
06:27spaces that whatever we have to prove it there's no doubt about it and the final result of this is
06:35that Guyana will once more sit with venezuela sooner or later to negotiate with the geneva agreement of
06:421966 and definitely resolve the territorial controversy in a satisfactory manner for both
06:49sites where we were listening to the statements of the foreign minister of venezuela ivan hill coming
06:57from the first hearing in the international court of justice regarding the issue of the guayana cequiba
07:04which venezuela once more we are reaffirms that it does not recognizes the international court of
07:10justice jurisdiction on this matter but is there to present the truth of venezuela to defend the truth
07:18of venezuela in any space that is necessary so this is just the first day as we have been informing
07:26on
07:26wednesday will be the turn before this international court of justice for venez for venezuela to present
07:32the proof the documents that as the foreign minister said prove the irrefutable reality that the
07:39guayana cequiba territory belongs to venezuela the way it has been from the beginning and that's the
07:45reason why this is taking place and for more information stay tuned with terrestrial english
