00:02Welcome live to the Netherlands Four Statements with the Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Hill.
00:07Let's listen. After being, after seeing the world, after seeing Venezuela in this session,
00:20the interventions and the work of years of a team, judicial team of first level,
00:26both national level with our agents, with our team from the prosecutor's office,
00:33a team of lawyers, the higher lawyers of the first level, Venezuelans can see we give faith of this.
00:40They have the guarantee that we have the best judicial team comprised to defend the interests of the Bolivarian Venezuela.
00:50There has been a day in the morning, the afternoon in the morning, we listened to interventions from someone Moncada,
00:59proving the historic truth of Venezuela, the non-recognition of jurisdiction of the court,
01:07how we arrived to the Geneva agreement precisely as the only valid instrument to solve this controversy,
01:15and then we saw a compilation of legal documents, exceptional documents,
01:24where we destroyed precisely the argument of the Corporate Republic of Guyana series of elements
01:34that we could describe as false or manipulated through our presentation, through our lawyers' presentation,
01:44that puts in evidence and makes it clear to the international community and the court
01:50how the arbitral award of 1899 was a fraudulent decision, and how later through the management of Venezuela
02:01and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Republic of Venezuela, and we arrived to the year 1966,
02:06achieving that agreement in Geneva, which the United Kingdom supported, signed,
02:13and that the Corporate Republic of Guyana also signed it, and that from that moment,
02:18that moment marked the end of that fraudulent arbitral award of 1899 and opened the doors to a direct negotiation.
02:25And finally, Venezuela has made it clear today also, before the international community
02:30and before the Republic of the Corporate Republic of Guyana, through the Geneva agreement,
02:35Venezuela is willing to work directly, face-to-face, as mandated by this agreement with the Corporate Republic of Guyana,
02:43to solve definitely this territorial controversy that turns 126 years now.
02:49Precisely, we must say with pride that this team today has documented and invite the Venezuelan people to listen
02:56to all the presentations that the lawyers have made.
03:00We invite the international community to evaluate all and every argument, detailed argument that was given here.
03:10It has truly been a thorough teaching demonstration, especially for Venezuelan youth,
03:16so that they can understand how the Bolivarian government, the government of the acting president,
03:22Jose Rodriguez, has designed a judicial strategy, a political strategy, a diplomatic strategy,
03:28that would allow us to recover the rights of Venezuela that certain sectors are trying to take away
03:39through that fraudulent decision of 1899.
03:42A great day for the Hamlin, a great line for Venezuela.
03:44We are celebrating it here from The Hague, and well, we sent this message to the entire Venezuelan people
03:50so that they join in the defense of their sovereignty, as was expressed by that people on December 3rd in
03:572023.
03:58Well, what we say now is what we have always said, direct negotiations with the Cooperative Republic of Guyana
04:06through the Geneva Agreement to definitely resolve the controversy.
04:12That has been put clear in the explanations given by the lawyers today.
04:18how this agreement will allow, through peace, through diplomatic means, to resolve this territorial controversy.
04:32We're listening to the statements of the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Ivan Hill, following a day, a two-day session
04:41that took place in the International Court of Justice, where Venezuela presented once more
04:46the historical truth of Venezuela's sovereignty over the Guayana Ezequiva.
04:51Venezuela once again reaffirms that it comes to this stage to defend the historic truth of Venezuela,
04:57but continues to not recognize the jurisdiction of the International Court to solve the territorial controversy
05:06that exists between the Bolivar Republic of Venezuela and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.
05:10that the only legal instrument, the only legal framework that is in place to resolve this controversy
05:16is direct negotiations to find a beneficial solution for both sides,
05:20which is enshrined in the framework of the Geneva Agreement of 1966.
05:26This is all the information we have right now. We'll have more in upcoming news briefs.
