00:06You said you were having trouble sleeping.
00:08Brought you something from the doctors, which I hope helps.
00:11It's a girl.
00:12I hope that she turns out to be just like her mother.
00:16When you are a teen superstar on a hit TV show,
00:19there tends to be a lot of people who want things from you.
00:22It's well in the past now. I've moved on.
00:25What happened yesterday, Daniel?
00:28I haven't had a panic attack.
00:30Since medical school, I think there's something really wrong with me.
00:35Your father is dying.
00:37It's time to say goodbye.
00:39We're all here with you.
01:02What is it?
01:06Go get your brothers.
01:10Guys.
01:12It's okay, Bert.
01:14We're all here.
01:19Izzy,
01:21what do we do?
01:24Just be here.
01:54shh.
01:55Shh.
01:57It's okay.
01:59It's okay, babe.
02:02It's okay.
02:21Miss Goodwin.
02:23Tamika.
02:25What are you doing?
02:28There was a lot of people at the funeral.
02:30Yeah.
02:31I'm happy to help you pack up once I finish my rounds.
02:34Oh, don't feel obliged,
02:35but I'll take the company.
02:39Okay.
02:48Well, your BP's slightly elevated,
02:50but that doesn't explain your panic attack
02:52and nosebleeds.
02:53Well, what are we looking at, then?
02:54As you know, when you get older, your body's ability to metabolize medication decreases.
02:59Yep.
02:59I think that the antidepressants you're on are not being properly metabolized,
03:04and they're building up in your system.
03:05This cocktail's been working very well for me, okay?
03:07It was not easy to dial in.
03:09I know that I'm having some issues, but how do we know that they're not temporary?
03:12You know, or even unrelated?
03:14I'm just saying it's a very big call to make.
03:16I know, and it's a conversation you have to have with your therapist.
03:20But if it were my call, I would have you titrate down for a few weeks and see if your
03:26symptoms abate.
03:27I love you truly, truly.
03:38I see a musical friend is back.
03:40I like him because he drowns out the construction.
03:43Which, God willing, should be completed in the next two days.
03:52I'm impressed you made it here on time considering when you got home.
03:55My body is here, but my soul is drowning in Goldschlager from last night.
04:01Nice reunion then with your Nick of Time co-star.
04:04I don't know what I was thinking going drink for drink with Ian,
04:06when he's always had a wooden leg or like a second liver.
04:10What's he in town for?
04:11Otcon.
04:11It's a convention for early 2000s pop culture.
04:15A lot of actors that run shows back then go and sign autographs, take pictures, blah, blah, blah.
04:20Does that include Gilmore Girls?
04:23What?
04:25Uh, nothing.
04:28Seriously though, okay?
04:30What are the chances that nobody in Chicago gets sick today?
04:35Incoming MVC, three patients, all hands on deck.
04:42We got Matt, Sebastian Hendricks, 20.
04:45He got into an accident with a calf on the Kennedy.
04:47Both cars going 60. Sebastian spun it to the divider.
04:49Mr. Hendricks, I'm Dr. Archer. How are you feeling?
04:52I'm okay, thank you.
04:53I'm coming up with treatment five.
04:54BP 125 over 82 with a possible humerus fracture with some small lacerations from the glass.
05:00I guess the air Barracks did their job.
05:02What was the goddamn accident?
05:04He tried to kill us.
05:05Yeah, we're going to have to have you laid back, please?
05:07It's okay, we're going to help you.
05:08It's Lelisa Sweeney, nine months pregnant and inactive labor.
05:10She was in a cab on her way to the hospital when the other car hit them.
05:13Is my baby okay?
05:14BP 126 or 172, attack your 30s.
05:17Yeah, looks like she busted her tibia.
05:18I had to yank her out of the car.
05:19Please, what is happening with my baby?
05:21We're going to figure that out.
05:22Transferring, one, two, three.
05:24Okay, let's start a liter of fluid, get the neonatal pad,
05:26find the fetal monitor, the ultrasound.
05:28Oh, it's coming!
05:30Angelo Reyes, heart rate 82, but BP 74 over 58.
05:33Trauma two, Casey.
05:34He's got two units of uncross-matched blood in a chest and pelvis x-ray.
05:38He took the brunt of the impact.
05:39Hasn't moved his arms or legs since we got him.
05:41Could be a neurogenic shock.
05:42Mr. Reyes, can you feel this?
05:45No.
05:47How about here?
05:50Mr. Reyes?
05:51Heart rate 46, BP crashing.
05:53Start legal fet, let's get ready to intubate.
05:55Transfer on my count.
05:57One, two, three.
06:00Are they going to be okay?
06:01Mr. Hendrick, I just need to focus.
06:03Focus your eyes on my finger.
06:04Where's my phone?
06:05I need to call my parents.
06:06Louisa, we need to roll you onto your side to deliver since we can't bend your broken leg,
06:10okay?
06:11Stabilize the leg.
06:11Okay, on my count.
06:13One, two, go.
06:15Easy.
06:15Okay.
06:16Here we go.
06:18What?
06:19You want me to push like this?
06:20Hold the sideline breath.
06:21I promise you it's safe.
06:22My baby's having D-cells with contractions.
06:24Okay, we need to get this baby out now.
06:26I want you to push, Louisa.
06:27Grab the OB kit.
06:28Okay, deep breath.
06:31Leave the feds at 30 vitals, still tanking.
06:33Any milligram of Epion start a second drip?
06:41It's not helping.
06:42Ready to crash cart?
06:45Now!
06:47Look at that, I got him.
06:51Is he okay?
06:52You need to get him checked out.
06:54For the screening's good.
07:01Here we go.
07:05Okay.
07:08Welcome to the world, little man.
07:22Okay.
07:23I'm gonna lean you back, alright?
07:24I am.
07:27I started having contractions last night,
07:29but I was timing them out,
07:31and I read about getting to the hospital too early.
07:33Babies come on their own timelines.
07:35This guy likes to keep things exciting, huh?
07:39How long does he have to have his arm pinned?
07:41A few weeks.
07:42The x-ray showed a fracture from the accident,
07:44but luckily, babies are superheroes,
07:46so he should heal in just no time.
07:51And what about my cab driver?
07:53Um, I don't think we know the answer to that yet,
07:57but you can relax now.
07:59He was just trying to get me here.
08:01He did not mean to cut that kid off.
08:03He was just in his blind spot,
08:04and then the kid, he just lost it.
08:08ISP officer's asking if now's a good time to take her statement.
08:11Uh, yeah.
08:12That works.
08:12I'm just finishing up.
08:14If you're up for it?
08:15Absolutely.
08:16That maniac almost killed us.
08:18He should be locked up.
08:21Dino.
08:22I'm so sorry.
08:23I just got your page.
08:24I had a...
08:25a thing this morning.
08:26Perfect timing.
08:27We're just about to fill your buddy in here.
08:29Hey.
08:29Dr. Charles.
08:30Theo.
08:32You...
08:32You suggested that I shadow you
08:34to get a more complete picture of the department for my research,
08:37unless that doesn't work.
08:39It's good.
08:39It's great.
08:40Good to see you.
08:41Um, what's up?
08:42State police are investigating whether a car accident which came in
08:46was in fact an accident,
08:47or if our patient, Sebastian Hendricks here,
08:50hit the other car on purpose.
08:53Valentina Suarez, Sebastian's family attorney.
08:55Are you the psychiatrist?
08:56Because you should know Sebastian wasn't trying to hurt anyone
08:58but himself today.
08:59That was a suicide attempt.
09:01You need to admit him for observation.
09:02Gotcha.
09:03I'm assuming there's an actual family member on the way?
09:07Mr. and Mrs. Hendricks are in Zurich on business,
09:09but I'm his medical proxy and I'll be overseeing his care.
09:12As far as things don't quite work that way around here,
09:15you can't just demand that the patient be admitted.
09:17I need to examine him first.
09:18Oh, no one's trying to prevent that.
09:20But Sebastian has a history of serious mental health issues
09:23and severe depression.
09:24I'm just trying to make sure he's safe.
09:26I'm sure that we all have Sebastian's best interests at heart,
09:28but I still need to talk to him before I make that determination.
09:32Fine.
09:34Dykes.
09:34Pretty aggressive for a family attorney.
09:36If they can say that Sebastian's in a psych ward,
09:39it gives him legal cover with a jury.
09:41What, you think this could be a legal strategy?
09:43I don't know.
09:44Let's find out.
09:48Took your time coming down here.
09:49My facial ran long. What do you need?
09:51Angelo Reyes, critical, hypotensive, and a neurogenic shock.
09:55Currently intubated and sedated.
09:58Before we intubated, I performed a motor and sensory exam,
10:01which revealed a spinal cord injury.
10:03Full paralysis from the neck down.
10:05We sent him for a CT to confirm.
10:07C5 fracture dislocation with severe cord compression.
10:11Heard you and Dr. Lennox made a house call,
10:13got into some trouble?
10:15Something like that.
10:17Guessing that was her idea?
10:19Yeah.
10:20How's she doing?
10:21Okay, I think, uh, still healing from her injuries,
10:25but, uh, she should be back at Gaffney soon.
10:27Glad to hear it.
10:28There's basically nothing in this guy's medical history.
10:31Yeah, he only immigrated to the U.S. a year ago
10:33from the Philippines.
10:34The cab company he works for doesn't exactly keep the best records.
10:37We have a call out to another driver who's a friend,
10:40but until then, we don't have much.
10:42Well, we don't have time to wait.
10:43We gotta get him to surgery for decompression and stabilization.
10:47I'll call the OR.
10:51Whoa, whoa, whoa. Be careful, please.
10:53Oh, they said we can move the equipment.
10:54I'm not saying not to move it. Just, uh, be careful.
10:58Was I not?
10:59Well, I don't know.
11:00I-I know you all haven't always taken proper care on your work.
11:03Well, today's my first day here, pal.
11:04Dad?
11:06Hey!
11:06Hey!
11:07Hey, I just found out this morning
11:09that you're doing finishing work here.
11:10You-you've met Dean.
11:13Yeah, we just met.
11:15Mark Asher.
11:18I-I wanted to kill myself.
11:22End it all.
11:24So you drove into the other car?
11:27I knew I wanted to kill myself.
11:38Sebastian, it seems to me like it was about, what, five years ago
11:42that you first started to experience the mental health issues?
11:46I was a junior in high school.
11:49All right.
11:50You mind telling me about that?
11:51It was good.
11:53At first.
11:55In the varsity lacrosse.
11:57I had a girlfriend.
11:59She broke up with me after States.
12:01That's when it all kinda went bad.
12:04When you say it went bad, how-how do you mean?
12:07I got depressed.
12:10You know, my grades slipped.
12:13I quit lacrosse, gained some weight.
12:15Okay.
12:16I haven't had a girlfriend since.
12:18Not that I even want one.
12:20Right.
12:21I gotta say, it seems like you've been on a whole lot of medications since then.
12:25You know, my parents don't like having a crazy son.
12:28You know, the way it looks.
12:30They just wanna find a way to fix me.
12:32So they sent me to every doctor and...
12:35even put this...
12:37thing in my head.
12:38That's the, um...
12:40the deep brain stimulation?
12:43Yeah.
12:44A very aggressive treatment for depression.
12:46Yeah, well...
12:47it didn't work.
12:49You know, it's been five years and nothing's helped.
12:52You say that your parents sent you to all these doctors.
12:56They...
12:56they never came with you?
12:58No, they're...
12:58pretty busy with work and other stuff.
13:02I'm so sorry that you've had to go through this.
13:04And alone.
13:06Can't imagine how...
13:07how confusing, how scary it must be.
13:10Yeah, it is.
13:14I'm so tired...
13:17of feeling like this.
13:19You know, everyone telling me what to do,
13:21what meds to take, what not to take.
13:25So I don't know.
13:26When that guy cut me off today, I just...
13:30You just snapped.
13:32Look, I know what I'm supposed to say.
13:34You know, that I was just trying to hurt myself.
13:40That's not true.
13:42And I don't care about being arrested.
13:44Like, I...
13:45I deserve to be punished.
13:47I just...
13:49I don't want to feel like this.
14:01So no psych hold?
14:03No.
14:04That said, there's definitely something going on there.
14:07I mean, a kid is in a whole lot of pain.
14:09Look, I don't mean to overstep, but...
14:11Well, Sebastian said that he had a deep brain simulation device put in.
14:14Oh, like the pacemaker for the brain with the electrodes, right?
14:17Essentially.
14:18I mean, it sends electrical impulses
14:20when it detects abnormal brain activity, smooths them out.
14:23Yeah.
14:23It's widely used to treat Parkinson's,
14:25and in some rare cases,
14:26it can cause personality changes in patients.
14:28So you think the device caused the road rage?
14:31I'm saying that maybe today's events weren't entirely his fault.
14:35Well, that'll make his attorney happy.
14:37What do you say we hold off talking to her
14:39until we can maybe run a couple tests?
14:41I'm actually thinking about an fMRI.
14:43Might be a good way to test your theory.
14:45Yeah.
14:46It's a good idea. I'll see you in a little while.
14:51So, apologies for making the worst first impression in history with your dad.
14:56I obviously did not know it was him.
14:58I just found out he was working here today.
15:00Yeah, I figured it out.
15:02Things have been strained.
15:04Since he found out about the baby, he's not exactly a fan of our situation.
15:08But it's gonna be fine.
15:10It is?
15:10Yes, we are going to smooth things out over lunch.
15:13I reserved a table for all of us upstairs.
15:15I think my dad is just objecting to the idea of me having a kid on my own in the
15:18abstract.
15:19Once he gets to know you, likes you,
15:22he'll go a long way to making him feel better.
15:24It is important that I fix this.
15:26Lunch it is. Let's do this.
15:29Just be calm and charming and agreeable.
15:34My three defining attributes.
15:39Terrified little tyke.
15:40I mean, he literally wet his pants during the pilot.
15:42Yes.
15:43Ian.
15:44Hey, Frosty Bear!
15:46What are you doing here, man?
15:48And how are you so chipper right now?
15:50I'm dying.
15:51Well, I've always been tougher than you.
15:53That said, I was actually hoping you could maybe hook me up with an IV before the con.
15:58Just to get me all sorted before I have to pose for a million selfies.
16:01I mean, Ian was telling us about when you guys met.
16:04Yeah.
16:04How I corrupted you.
16:05Oh.
16:06What kind of bad things did you do?
16:08Drugs.
16:09Models.
16:09Tech stuff.
16:11Okay.
16:11That's one banana bag coming up for this guy.
16:16It is still literally insane to me that you're a doctor.
16:20Yeah.
16:21Still pretty insane to me, too.
16:22Oh.
16:24Whatever they gave me for the pain is good.
16:28Because right now, you guys look exactly like Nick and Mac from Nick of Time.
16:33You're not hallucinating, my man.
16:34The time team is here.
16:36I am not listening to a hallucination.
16:39That's how I ended up jumping off of that outhouse in the first place.
16:44Nice.
16:45It is cool, though.
16:47You being a doctor.
16:49I'm proud of you.
16:52Do you believe in second chances?
16:55Do you believe in a Nick of Time?
17:05Is that where you met Bert?
17:07Working in medicine?
17:08No.
17:10College.
17:12Being in someone's life that long, you must have a lot of great memories.
17:19Oh, no.
17:21Did I say something wrong?
17:22No, no.
17:23It's not you.
17:26I'm just having a bit of trouble with my memories.
17:30Whenever I think of Bert now, I can only see him at the end.
17:38You know, I've worked here a few years, and you see people.
17:42They spend a long time trying to say goodbye to a version of someone that was different than the one
17:48they knew all their lives.
17:51But over time, they come back to you.
18:04You gonna be waiting for me every time I exit a room today?
18:07So how'd it go?
18:08Mixed bag.
18:09We were able to stabilize the spinal fractures, but the damage to the cord is substantial.
18:13So he's gonna be tetraplegic?
18:14Not necessarily.
18:15There's one other option.
18:16It's an experimental procedure where we insert a biological scaffold directly into the area where the spinal cord is injured
18:22to promote nerve regeneration.
18:24It's very new, but he's an excellent candidate.
18:27That's great.
18:28We just need a family member to consent.
18:30Can't Angelo sign off himself?
18:31No, unfortunately, we can't wake him.
18:33We gotta keep him sedated and chemically paralyzed due to his respiratory status and neurogenic shock.
18:38Well, that's gonna be a problem.
18:40Angelo doesn't have any family here.
18:41Didn't you say you were talking to a friend of his?
18:43Friend turned out to be a stretch.
18:44He couldn't tell us much, just that he has a wife and a 15-year-old daughter back home.
18:49Any name or contact info?
18:50No.
18:51What's the window for starting this scaffold procedure?
18:54It's tight.
18:55Eight hours from the initial trauma.
18:57Right.
18:59So, basically, we need to find two nameless people in the Philippines before the end of the day or he's
19:04gonna be paralyzed for life?
19:06Yep.
19:13Should've worn the good, Carhartt.
19:15You were great.
19:17I just thought it would be nice to eat somewhere a little more quiet so we could, we could talk.
19:23Hmm.
19:23Anyway, how are you?
19:25I can't complain.
19:29And Lizzie?
19:31Is she still living with you?
19:33Maybe you should ask her yourself.
19:35I've tried that.
19:36You know the friction's not on my side, Dad.
19:38Mr. Asher.
19:40Good to see you.
19:41We got off on the wrong foot earlier.
19:43The measure of a man is how he treats those people who he thinks are below him.
19:49I agree.
19:50And, uh, normally, I treat everyone with respect.
19:54Recently, we almost had a patient die on the table in the ED when we lost power due to some
19:59questionable construction work.
20:00Right.
20:00There were some lingering feelings.
20:02Anyway, it wasn't my best moment.
20:04Nothing to do with you.
20:05I'm sorry.
20:08So, Hannah tells me you were in the Navy.
20:11Here you go.
20:12Thanks.
20:12I was, yeah.
20:14Oh, how'd you get?
20:15Uh, rank?
20:16I made it up to Commander.
20:19Hmm, impressive.
20:20I think they just, uh, had a couple extra pins lying around.
20:24Hmm.
20:29So, how we feeling?
20:32Amazing.
20:33You know, I've done all the fancy infusions, but the straight hospital banana bag is tough to beat.
20:39Yeah.
20:41And everyone here is super nice.
20:43Eh, well, we don't get a lot of time travelers in here, so.
20:46Yeah.
20:47You know, I've actually been meaning to talk to you about that.
20:50Time travel?
20:51Well, in a way.
20:53There's been some talk about a Nick of Time reboot.
20:55Oh, yeah?
20:56Yeah.
20:57You know, one of the ones with new kids at the center.
20:59Mm.
21:00I get to play the fun uncle.
21:01Ha.
21:02Studio's pretty psyched.
21:03Congrats.
21:04Man, it's awesome.
21:05Yeah.
21:06The thing is, they have it in their heads that they need both Nick and Mac.
21:13Yeah.
21:15Uh, man, I, I don't know.
21:17No, no, no.
21:18Not full time or anything.
21:19Just an appearance in the first episode to help launch it.
21:21Hmm.
21:22I know you're done with acting, but it'd be a couple days.
21:25It's easy money.
21:27Look, I, that sounds cool for you, really.
21:31It's just, I'm done with that part of my life, you know?
21:34I, I'm sorry.
21:36I, I figured that was the answer, honestly.
21:38But had to at least ask.
21:41Sure it's okay?
21:42Yeah.
21:42Of course.
21:44I've got plenty of irons in the fire.
21:46I just thought it was a fun idea and a way we could hang out more.
21:49But, dude, all good.
21:52The DBS device in his head doesn't seem to trigger the hypothalamus or any area associated
21:58with rage or anger.
21:59It's probably not responsible for his actions today.
22:03Huh.
22:04Um, Dr. Charles, uh, got some, some blood here.
22:10I got a nosebleed?
22:12Sorry about that.
22:14I got these damn allergy medications drying me up.
22:19So, I guess we're back to square one.
22:21You know what?
22:22I'm not so sure about that.
22:24How so?
22:25Well, these scans, they don't really mimic classic clinical depression.
22:28Didn't Sebastian say that his depression was precipitated by breakup?
22:32Yeah, but a breakup wouldn't cause a condition lasting this long.
22:34Agreed.
22:35Particularly since it's not a focus for him anymore.
22:38In fact, he's not interested in dating at all.
22:42Decreased libido.
22:44You know what?
22:45I think that Sebastian might have been onto something here,
22:48but he had the order wrong?
22:49In other words, what if it wasn't a breakup that caused his depression,
22:53but depression that caused his breakup?
22:57I think this poor kid might have been misdiagnosed.
23:11We're running out of time.
23:13Any luck on locating Angel Reyes' family?
23:15I'm on hold with immigration now, but it's not looking good.
23:18Reyes is a pretty common name in a country of over 100 million people.
23:21We need more than just his last name.
23:23Damn.
23:24Okay, um, I called a friend at CPD.
23:27They said they'd speak to his neighbors, see if they could find a lead there.
23:30Yeah, if they find anything that might help narrow the search, let me know ASAP.
23:37Well, I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be looking at, but she's beautiful.
23:43Yeah, I've seen hundreds of those, and it just hits different when it's yours.
23:47So you've been through this before, I hear.
23:50Yeah, a while back.
23:52My son, Sean, is all grown now, lives in Florida.
23:55And you raised him with your ex-wife?
23:57I did, yeah.
23:59So you'd agree that there's value in having two parents in the same home?
24:05Uh, ideally, yeah, sure.
24:08Look, I think it's great for both parents to be involved in the child's life.
24:12I just don't think that that has to mean living together.
24:15Well, that's easy to say, but how are you gonna make that work?
24:17I mean, where's the baby gonna live?
24:19I imagine she'll go back and forth.
24:21Oh, as a newborn.
24:23Maybe not in the beginning.
24:24And who's gonna pay for things?
24:26Well, we haven't discussed every single detail yet, but Dad, what is with the third degree?
24:31Since when are you some two-parent home crusader?
24:33I'm not trying to push some conservative value system or anything,
24:36but I raised three kids on my own, and I wish I'd have done a better job.
24:41You did a fine job.
24:42I just wonder if you would have had less issues if your mother had been around.
24:48Are you saying that you think I'm a drug addict because I was raised by a single parent?
24:53No.
24:53Maybe you should ask for a check or something.
24:54No.
24:54I just worry that getting knocked up by a 60-year-old who yells at day laborers doesn't look good
25:00long-term.
25:05Well, I'm sorry that you don't approve of this, but honestly, how we chose to raise our baby is none
25:13of your business.
25:20Maybe that's true.
25:23Anyway, I should get back to work.
25:28Thanks for lunch.
25:51You know she doesn't need any more judgment, right?
25:55Hey, guys. Can you give us a room for a minute?
26:03What the hell are you talking about?
26:04Well, Sid, what she doesn't need right now is any more judgment.
26:07She already judges herself, and harshly.
26:09And she doesn't need her father questioning her choices.
26:13Well, now you're gonna give me parenting advice?
26:14Hey, I get that you feel anxiety about the future, and you get guilt about all the mistakes you made.
26:19Join the club.
26:20But next time you feel like you need to vent or just be a prick, do me a favor and
26:24direct all that stuff towards me.
26:26I'll give you my cell. You can call me anytime, day or night.
26:29And that daughter of yours is a remarkable woman.
26:34And we both know that she will be an incredible mother, with or without my help.
26:39I thought you were trying to get my approval.
26:41I'm pretty sure that ship sailed, right?
26:44Might as well go down swinging.
26:50You have a hormonal disorder.
26:53What?
26:54The depressive symptoms you first experienced in high school were not the result of a breakup or your family history.
27:00You have a damaged pituitary gland, all right, which is a little tiny gland, the base of your brain,
27:05which controls the release of hormones into your body, many of which directly affect mood, behavior, sense of well-being.
27:13Including testosterone, which your lab results confirm is abnormally low, which is what's causing your weight gain, fatigue, loss of
27:22libido.
27:22But how did my pituitary gland get damaged?
27:26A very common cause are traumatic blows to the head.
27:29And we were thinking that when you were playing lacrosse, you had to sustain, I mean, at least a few
27:33tough hits, right?
27:36Yeah.
27:37Good news, it's fixable.
27:39We can give you medicines that'll rebalance your hormones.
27:42Takes a while.
27:42There's trial and error involved.
27:43But once we get you there, I can confidently predict that you're never gonna have to feel this way again.
27:49Can we talk outside a moment?
27:52Be right back.
27:58So this pituitary damage means the accident wasn't his fault.
28:01Look, I know that you wanted to say that Sebastian has diminished capacity, so he's not responsible for his actions,
28:07but he knew what he was doing today.
28:09So you're not going to help him?
28:10On the contrary. I want to keep him out of prison and get him placed in a secure mental health
28:14facility.
28:15An insane asylum?
28:16No. An inpatient psychiatric unit where he can get the care he so desperately needs.
28:21That's not good enough.
28:22To Sebastian's parents, that's the same as prison. They want to be able to control his care.
28:26Yeah, except for that hasn't been going so well, has it? So I can't really recommend that course of treatment.
28:31Well, we'll have to find a better doctor then.
28:32How about a better lawyer?
28:34Excuse me?
28:35Do you know what it's like to be misdiagnosed? Pumped full of drugs that you don't need? Do you know
28:40the damage that that does to a person?
28:41I don't find your tone appropriate right now. I want to talk to your superior.
28:45That would be me, okay? And you can write me a letter.
28:49This is not just about a hormonal imbalance. He needs intensive therapy for the years of psychological damage he suffered.
28:56We need to get those electrodes out of his head. We need to get him off that useless cocktail he's
29:01been on for years.
29:02I could go on and on and on, but you know what I really don't understand?
29:05Is if his parents really want to dictate his care, why don't they actually show up?
29:09Instead of sending somebody who clearly does not give a crap about whether it gets better or not.
29:16Look, what's it going to be?
29:18Are you going to take the win, or are you going to make me call family services?
29:22Hey, Louisa, everything okay? I heard you were upset.
29:28They said he might be paralyzed.
29:30Okay, you know, how about I help get you back to your room?
29:33You really should be recovering in bed right now.
29:36None of this would have happened if it wasn't for me.
29:37Hey, this accident was not your fault.
29:39I didn't tell you everything.
29:45After Angelo accidentally cut that kid off, he was honking and yelling at us, and I started screaming back at
29:55him.
29:55And I flipped him off.
29:58That's when he rammed into us.
30:00No, no matter what you said or what gesture you made, violence is not excused.
30:07Angelo was so nice.
30:10He kept reassuring me that if we didn't make it on time, that he could deliver the baby himself.
30:16Said he did it for his own kid.
30:19And you'd be surprised how many babies are delivered on the way to the hospital.
30:24Apparently, they got caught in traffic for a Justin Timberlake concert.
30:35What is it?
30:36Nothing, it's just...
30:38I think that that might actually help us.
30:42Why don't you check your pockets?
30:43I didn't lose anything.
30:45Look, can you just give me more?
30:47What?
30:48What's up with our singer?
30:48We can't do it.
30:49The guy's ready to be discharged, but according to him, the Percocet we gave him are missing.
30:54He probably tried to take it or hide it.
30:56Now he wants more.
31:01Where'd Ian go?
31:02Oh, he left.
31:0320 minutes ago.
31:07Hey, I know where Angelo's from.
31:09What? How?
31:10Louisa remembered a story that Angelo told her about being stuck in traffic for a Justin Timberlake concert when his
31:15daughter was born.
31:15You said she was 15, right?
31:17Okay, so I looked it up, and the only show he did in the Philippines in 2010 was in Pasay
31:23City.
31:24Is that enough info to help find his family?
31:26I don't know. I'll call and find out.
31:31Yes, got a Philippine consulate, please.
31:43I'll follow you.
31:44Psych.
31:48Oh my gosh, that's good.
31:52Oh my gosh, that's good.
31:54It's good.
31:54It's good.
31:55It's good.
31:55It's good.
31:56Go check it out.
32:01And I added the clock.
32:02You made this?
32:04Oh, and the clock actually works.
32:06Sweet.
32:06We were on location all the time.
32:08Oh, thanks.
32:09Frosty Bear.
32:11What are you doing here?
32:12Oh my God.
32:13It's Mac.
32:14Can I get a pic?
32:15I didn't know you were doing this.
32:16I don't usually come to these.
32:18I'm just...
32:18No, sorry.
32:18It'll be really quick.
32:20Yeah.
32:20Yeah, of course.
32:22Sure.
32:23Oh, yeah.
32:23Sure.
32:25Hey.
32:26All right, buddy.
32:27Everybody say, that was a close one.
32:30That was a close one.
32:31That was a close one.
32:33I just gotta talk to Ian real quick.
32:35It was nice to meet you.
32:36Can I come in real quick?
32:38Thanks.
32:38Bye.
32:43Where are the pills, Ian?
32:45What pills?
32:45Come on, dude.
32:47All right, we grew up together.
32:48I watched you pull stuff like this all the time.
32:49Yeah, when we were kids.
32:52The hospital has security cameras.
32:53You know that.
32:54My charge nurse is going to call the police
32:56if the drugs don't turn up.
32:59Still the Boy Scout after all these years, huh?
33:07Look, if you need help, all right,
33:10there's resources for addiction.
33:12Whoa, whoa.
33:12That is not what this is.
33:14I was just pissed.
33:15Maybe looking to have some fun.
33:17I'm just saying.
33:18I can put you in touch with...
33:20Okay, hey, look.
33:21The only help I need from you,
33:22you already said no to.
33:24What, are you talking about the reboot?
33:25Yeah.
33:26I was kind of hoping you would consider it
33:28for more than ten seconds,
33:29given that you annihilated my career.
33:31How did I do that?
33:32Look around, man.
33:35This is where I am now.
33:37All because you pulled the plug on our show
33:38just as it was starting to catch fire.
33:40I did not pull the plug.
33:40Our ratings were still going up.
33:42I was 16, man.
33:43I was right on the edge of getting real dramatic roles,
33:45and those offers were on the table.
33:47But once the breakout star decided to walk away,
33:50all those opportunities just evaporated.
33:53I've been scrambling ever since.
33:57I didn't realize you were going through it like that, man.
34:00Why?
34:01Because it's embarrassing.
34:04I tried to get up the nerve all last night to ask,
34:07and I couldn't.
34:09It's pathetic.
34:11Sorry, man.
34:12It's fine.
34:12We don't need to get into it.
34:13I have to get back out there anyway.
34:18It was good to see you.
34:22Yeah.
34:24All right!
34:25Who's next?
34:26Well, your spinal alignment looks great on your CAT scan,
34:30and you've got pinprick sensation in your legs.
34:33Is that good?
34:34It is.
34:35It means the surgery was a success,
34:37and you'll have a chance of regaining use of your arms and legs.
34:41What does a chance mean?
34:45It means it'll be a long road to recovery,
34:48but you'll be able to hug your daughter again.
34:52Hey, is now a bad time?
34:53Uh, no.
34:54No, we were just finishing up, actually.
34:56We'll check in later.
35:01Hey.
35:03I came to see how you were doing.
35:05And you know,
35:07maybe if you wanted to meet the baby that was almost born in your peck seat.
35:11I really don't feel like talking.
35:14Oh.
35:15Yeah.
35:15I get that.
35:19But I also wanted to say sorry.
35:22I feel horrible for playing a part in what's happened to you.
35:27And I know that you're away from your family, and I'm just starting one.
35:31And we're both all alone.
35:33And that's scary.
35:38So, if you change your mind, you can, you know, just call or...
35:44I don't know.
35:46Maybe we could be friends.
35:50Or at least keep each other company.
35:54Hey, why don't we let him get some rest?
35:56Yeah, we can always come back later.
36:00I'm going to put this right on the table, okay?
36:06That would be nice.
36:09What's that?
36:10I said, that would be nice.
36:15I'll call the number.
36:27Hey.
36:29Hey.
36:29I thought you might want to know that Sebastian is on his way to an inpatient care facility.
36:35I'm glad.
36:37I appreciate you having my back with the lawyer.
36:40I know I came off a bit...
36:42...harsh.
36:43With my pleasure, man.
36:44She got it coming.
36:46Did notice that, uh...
36:49...got a bit heated.
36:50Yeah.
36:52I have my own experience with this diagnosis.
36:55Huh.
36:57You know, I've learned it's hard for people to follow the science when it's leading them somewhere they don't want
37:01to go.
37:03Good night.
37:19You done for the day?
37:20Yeah.
37:21Just headed out.
37:23But, uh, will we be seeing you tomorrow?
37:25No.
37:25Um, just a couple of little things left.
37:27My guys can handle it.
37:29That's great.
37:31You know, I just want things to be easier for you.
37:37You've been through a lot.
37:39And I just want things to be...
37:43...easier.
37:45I know.
37:47I appreciate that, Dad.
37:51Because I love you.
37:52You know.
37:57I think I might need to hear that a little more often.
38:01Okay.
38:03I can do that.
38:08Uh, also, um...
38:10...this Archer guy?
38:15He's okay.
38:19I'm glad to hear you're coming around on the co-parenting.
38:22Oh, God, no. That's gonna be a total disaster.
38:24What?
38:25You just said that you liked him. Why, why don't you think that it'll work?
38:30Because that man is head over heels in love with you.
38:41Come in.
38:45Welcome back.
38:46Hey.
38:47How did it, uh...
38:49How'd it go today?
38:51I had my little moments, you know.
38:55Sharing bird service.
38:58I don't know.
38:59I mean, that was just one...
39:01...spectacular goodbye.
39:03Yeah.
39:04That's what I can't wrap my head around.
39:06Like, who was I saying goodbye to?
39:08The bird from before, or...
39:11...the bird at the end.
39:12I-I don't know.
39:14Anyway.
39:15How you doing?
39:19I think I might need to take a couple weeks off.
39:24What's... what's going on?
39:25Everything okay?
39:26I've just been having some issues with my antidepressants, you know.
39:30And I gotta...
39:32...titrate down, look for some other options.
39:34I've been in denial about it, but I just gotta do it.
39:37Daniel, whatever you need.
39:39Thank you, honey.
39:43Oh, man, I'm so glad you're back.
39:45Me too.
39:48Oh.
39:49Yes.
39:49You might get a call from an attorney.
39:51That's me.
39:52Just for the record.
39:53I'm right.
39:54They're wrong.
39:55You got this.
39:56There was...
40:05Oh, you're right.
40:09There is...
40:13I'm sorry, but I don't even know.
40:14I was like...
40:14No, I'm sorry.
40:14No, I'm sorry.
40:16No...
40:16No.
40:17You can't.
40:18I don't know.
40:21No...
40:21You can sleep with your phone, huh?
40:23No, no.
40:26Not sure.
40:44Come on, really? Are you just going to keep filming this? Come on.
40:47I tried to warn you. You got to put the wheels on last. Now you look like you're just dancing
40:51with the phone.
40:52All right, you do it.
40:53All right, okay. Give me the thing. Give me the thing.
40:55All right, all right. Okay, see. First, you got to come here and help me keep this still.
41:06Okay.
41:07Well, it looks like it's a two-man. Yeah.
41:10Ha ha ha.
41:12Ha ha ha.
41:16Ha ha ha.
41:20Ha ha ha.
41:23Ha, ha, ha, ha.
42:00Ha, ha, ha.
