00:00The Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalulayal is confident that Perlis has the potential

00:06to emerge as a second Dubai, serving as a gateway to ASEAN countries within the next few years.

00:13Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin said he believed the state could grow into a trading hub,

00:18innovation centre and regional economic meeting point,

00:21given its strategic location in the northern part of Peninsula Malaysia, bordering Thailand.

00:26This, he said, would be supported by the commitment of the state government,

00:31the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority, the Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Ministry

00:36and the strength of the cooperative movement.

00:40Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin said he hoped Perlis could one day be recognised globally

00:44just as Dubai is seen as a gateway to the Middle East.

00:48He said this when officiating the Ankasa Perlis International Market 2026

00:53at the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Floating Market last night.
