Community outcry after newborn found deceased in Wagga

Residents are calling for immediate action to be taken to address Wagga's homelessness crisis after a newborn was found deceased in a tent.

00:05issue after the discovery of a deceased newborn inside of a tent at Wagga Beach on Saturday,

00:12May 2nd. Police officers had been called to Wagga Beach where they commenced a welfare check. At the

00:20site they located a mother who had given birth to twins three weeks prematurely. One of the newborns

00:28was deceased and the second was in a critical condition. The mother and surviving child were

00:34taken to Wagga Beach Hospital for further treatment. Police commenced an investigation

00:40but said it is not being treated as suspicious.
