03:47Hunter Lawrence, that is.
03:49And Ricky, to your point, he didn't look phased.
03:51He didn't look like a guy who was in the most intense championship fight of his career.
03:57He said, I did the same as I've done every week.
03:59Just kept chipping away.
04:00I'm in my routine.
04:01I didn't change anything.
04:03And here he is, JT, leading the man who leads the championship.
04:07Well, if you're wondering just how does, what does adrenaline look like?
04:10They've spent so much time throughout the week thinking about this championship.
04:15Wondering how the weekend's going to go.
04:16And they get this opportunity to explode in this main event.
04:20And it's so difficult for anyone else to get in there.
04:22We talked about could Chase Sexton, could Cooper Webb, could they play a role?
04:26But you saw the intensity in both of these two out front.
04:29They are simply on a different level.
04:32Some of that is ability.
04:33But some of that is the intensity and the adrenaline that this championship fight brings.
04:38Well, it's these whoops right here where Kenny's making up a ton of time on Hunter.
04:42I believe if Hunter can keep Kenny at bay, say, for another three to four laps,
04:47it's going to be hard for Kenny to catch Hunter because he'll get to that breaking point.

04:55There's a breaking point in the race.

05:00The first place between Jorge Prado aboard the Red Bull KTM and the vending champ, Cooper Webb.
05:07Watch this a moment ago between Barsha aboard the 51 and Cooper Webb.

05:19And Webb was able to clear away.
05:21There's the three of Eli Tomac who was able to catch back up and really find his rhythm again after
05:26stalling the bike in the sand earlier.
05:28Yeah, what a ride for the three and the one to come back as well, man.
05:33But I'm going to tell you, it is, there's some locker top going on in the paddock.
05:37Jorge's a tough guy to get by.
05:39And you can see that right now unless you have a massive time gap on him.
05:42It's hard to get by, but Eli Tomac is a man on the move right now.

05:47Here goes a pass.
05:48You hear the roar of the crowd.
05:49They know there's something on for their man as he takes the fight to Cooper Webb.
05:54He spoke too early.
05:58I like how these guys turned down a little bit early right there because it set you up perfectly.

06:09The way that he's riding, this is the beginning season, Eli.

06:32If he can get by the 26, Kenny is going to have to take notice.

07:13He'd win, and he's running in the top three.
07:16His team mate is all over him.
07:21Eli Tomac fans all over the world are saying,
07:24this is the guy we've been waiting to see for too long after that bizarre spell.
07:29For several rounds where the questions were, what's wrong with Eli?
07:35Well, if he's gone back to 100% fitness after that crash through the whoops several races ago,
07:40boy, he looks good.
07:42Yeah, he's dropped back just a couple bike lengths here in this last lap.
07:46Sometimes you've got to pull back, take a breather.
07:49He made a hard push there to catch up and get back to that position.
07:55We're not halfway through this 450 main, but it's worth pointing out that if the positions remain as is,
08:02we would go to the finale next weekend in Salt Lake City with a one-point difference between Ken Rockson
08:09and Hunter Lawrence.
08:10Yeah, basically, it takes me back to 06.
08:12Whoever beats each other wins the championship, and that's what you want, Will.
08:18Ricky, I got a chance to speak to Johnny O'Meara there,
08:20your good friend over at Honda HRCU trains, Hunter Lawrence.
08:24And just what he said just really, like, struck a chord with me earlier on today.
08:28He was talking about what a high-stress situation this was,
08:30and you two already said how calm Hunter is.
08:33And he said to me, I have complete confidence that Hunter can control his own destiny.
08:39And I'm just thinking that's got so many components to it from the start,
08:42being able to execute that to the attitude that you both spoke about,
08:46how calm that he was.
08:47He's doing exactly what the team are asking him to do,
08:51which is putting all the pieces together,
08:52and he's going to be potentially within that one point there as we head into the finale next week.
08:58But absolutely, and listen, I'm partial.
09:00You know my history with Johnny O'Meara.
09:02He was my mentor.
09:03He made me the champion, big part of the champion that I became,
09:07and I'll put him against anybody.
09:10And the way that Hunter has been doing and what he's been doing is a testament to Johnny O,
09:16and, of course, the others in that inner circle.

09:21Just, you know, to follow on Will, you know, the Honda HRC team part,
09:24I think they deserve a shout-out if this main event continues
09:27because they've gone the extra mile.
09:29And this has been their MO.
09:31These elevation races, they have seemed to have the upper hand,
09:34whether it's extra power, whether it's extra resources to throw at it.
09:38They went so far as to go to nearby Thunder Valley,
09:41one of our pro motocross rounds, and practice starts on Friday.
09:45That would get them an edge.
09:47You see Eli Tomac try to make a pass in the top box there,
09:49but it just goes to show you put in the extra effort
09:52when the championship's on the line, you may end up winning that main event.
09:57The crowd are going crazy for their man Eli Tomac,
10:01who finally gets past his teammate Jorge Prado.
10:04Watch these next couple laps.
10:06Time in and score in, Eli was the fastest man on the track at a 52-9
10:10while he was being held up by his teammate.
10:14This is going to be interesting to see the gap between Ken Roxxon and Eli Tomac.
10:20We're over the halfway mark.

10:53to see what that gap, if it builds or if it shrinks.
10:58And that's going to put the pressure on Kenny.

11:12My anxiety is through the roof for these two riders right now in the championship.
11:19It would be appropriate.
11:20It would be appropriate that we go to the last round with just one point between the two of them.

11:31To be in Hunter's position and to be able to pull away from the guy straight up
11:35who you're racing for the championship,
11:38it would give me massive confidence going into Salt Lake City.
11:45Ricky, I believe it would.
11:46And if you're Hunter, you can just kind of say,
11:49hey, the last two weekends, inclement conditions, nothing I could really do.
11:53Advantage Kenny.
11:54Now we're back to a normal race in normal conditions,
11:57and it's back to the status quo.
11:59I think that's how Hunter Lawrence is approaching this thing.
12:03Teammates here with Justin Cooper doing some chasing on Cooper Webb.
12:07This is for a spot in the top five.
12:09If Justin Cooper can get by the champ.
12:13Justin Varsha enjoying another top ten.
12:15Run along with his Troy Lee-designed Red Bull Ducati teammate in Dylan Ferrandez.
12:20And Malcolm Stewart, although Malcolm had to go by the LCQ,
12:23Malcolm's running in eighth at the moment.
12:26It's been a rough year for Coop, and he's worked really hard.
12:29But I just, I feel like there's been certain moments, and as a competitor,
12:33where if you could have just gotten by a guy on a certain lap,
12:38it changes the dynamic of the race.
12:40I go back to Dallas, when he wasn't able to hold off Kenny for the lead early on in the
12:46race,
12:46like the first two laps.
12:48And I think that changed the complexity of that particular race.
12:52And this race, for example, he wasn't able to get by Jorge.
12:55I think if he's able to do that, it changes the finish for him, I believe.
13:00And it's not for the lack of trying.
13:05Meanwhile, at the front of this race, Honda HRC progressive rider Hunter Lawrence
13:10has put nearly ten seconds on his rival, Ken Robson.
13:15Well, he has, and I'm looking at the timing and scoring right here.
13:18Remember I told you all to watch that gap right there.
13:21It looks like Eli has dialed it back a little bit, or Ken has wicked it up,
13:27because he has built up a nice little cushion there over Eli Tomax.
13:33Taking a little bit of the pressure off, save a point or two.
13:36This guy has held the red plate either by himself or in a tight position,
13:41meaning to be the series leader eight different times this year.
13:46He may very well go to the season finale, not with the red plate,
13:49but within just one point of Ken Robson.
13:53Remember, this season is the season that delivered Hunter Lawrence
13:56his very first 450 Supercross win in Arlington.
14:00He then went on at Indy and in Birmingham to go back-to-back.
14:04He didn't want to get in Nashville.
14:05So this, if he can hang on for another six minutes plus a lap,
14:09would be his fifth win on the year to match Ken Robson.
14:13These two are together in so many ways.
14:16I mean, other than the one-point difference,
14:18he'd have five wins, podium's the same.
14:21It's just absolutely incredible.
14:23Hunter would get him, you know, because he has more top fives.
14:26But still, and I'm going to tell you,
14:28I've never had this guy in this position preseason.
14:32It's absolutely incredible.
14:35He's done a great job, and he's, and I'll tell you what,
14:38his bounce-backs have what's been amazing to me and great to see,
14:44just his mental fortitude, how he's had, you know, a rough weekend,
14:48but he's still, his resiliency, he still comes back
14:51and does what he needs to do in important moments.
14:55Like JT said, you can't ask for anything else.
14:59The Monster Energy star Yamaha teammate's still duking it out.
15:02Here comes Justin Cooper.
15:03Got a bit of corner exit there,
15:04and is able to get alongside the champ
15:07and execute the move.
15:10Cooper Webb comes back, though.
15:12Justin looks over, and he knows,
15:14he knows how tough Cooper Webb is to fight on track.
15:17And in the background, looming large, is Malcolm Stewart.
15:22And that brings the Ducati teammates together as well
15:25in Ferrandez and Barsha, fighting inside the top ten.
15:28There they are, just in the background.
15:33And Kawasaki's Chase Sexton runs in the tenth position.
15:37Look at Malcolm, got a great ride,
15:40a great run, pardon me, through the whoops.
15:42This guy's always so fast in the whoops,
15:44and these whoops being so slick and hard,
15:47like JT talked about on our track report,
15:49he's able to use those legs and that weight advantage
15:52to get a good drive, create more traction.
15:57Don't take your eyes off the 14
15:59of Dylan Ferrandez either.
16:01Here he comes.
16:02He's cleared his teammate,
16:03and he is rolling with Malcolm.
16:06Up position by position.
16:08And Ferrandez owns the fastest lap of the race
16:10last time around.
16:12So the Frenchman's flying.
16:17This is a good little battle.
16:19All these guys are scrunched up here,
16:22right behind Jorge for fourth.
16:30Oh, look at that run Malcolm gets.

16:55of Prado fading late in the main.
16:58So let's see if the Spaniel can hang on to this one
