00:10Luke, whatever you want.
00:11TFI survives. Take it away.
00:17My name is Chris Evans, original presenter of TFI Friday.
00:24So Chris, how would you describe this TFI?
00:29Er, like the old one, only, er, 1% of the budget.
00:37Am I getting paid for this?
00:41It's a bit cheap, isn't it?
00:45Am I, what, that one?
00:48TFI, to survive. Take that.
00:52So, er, yeah, I'm Kedge and I'm the exec producer of TFI Unplugged.
00:56So, Evan says it's like the original, except 1% of the budget.
01:001%? No, no, it's much less than that.
01:03Don't tell him.
01:04Take, take, take, boom.
01:07My name's Owen and I've just started working on TFI Unplugged.
01:18What do you do, Owen?
01:20Er, you mostly get blamed for things.
01:22That seems a bit harsh.
01:25I love it.
01:28Do they feed you lot?
01:30No.
01:31I thought not.
01:32No, he'd never been fed.
01:33Total t***, ain't he?
01:46Not any coincidence.
01:51No, no, no, no, no.
01:54No, no, no.
01:55No!
01:59OK, EAUN!
02:00Let's go!
02:00Let's go!
02:01Bye!
02:02Hare!
02:02Yes!
02:03you go,
02:03Let's go,
02:10Hey, happy Friday, friends. Thanks for tuning in.
02:13This is actually episode nine of TFI Unplugged.
02:17And because it's episode nine, that means we can do this.
02:22Previously on TFI Unplugged.
02:30What are you talking about?
02:32I look like Jedward.
02:34How many songs did you do, TFI?
02:36Loads. It was like, it was our second row.
02:39I'd rather top and go down than England win the world.
02:42Yes, I got it.
02:43It doesn't make for good TV.
02:44You can have that.
02:45Thank you very much.
02:46Basically, only homeless people turned up.
02:53All right, so that's all you've missed.
02:55But you can catch up on the first eight episodes of TFI Unplugged on YouTube.
03:00I know.
03:01Coming up tonight, we've got Sam Ryder on the show.
03:03Jack Saboretti singing live.
03:07And India's biggest star, Shreya Ghashal, on the show.
03:12But first of all, I've got a letter here about letters, actually.
03:16Hey, Chris, what is the current state of the It's Your Letters top five?
03:19Well, it's funny you should ask,
03:20because at number five in the all-time top five for It's Your Letters,
03:24it is, with It's Your Letters, Tony Bennett.
03:28Letters, It's Your Letters.
03:31Letters, It's Your Letters.
03:34At number four with It's Your Letters, it's Robbie Williams.
03:51And number three with It's Your Letters, It's The Bee Gees.
03:55It's Your Letters, It's Your Letters, It's Your Letters.
04:16Wow.
04:17At number two with It's Your Letters, it's The Foo Fighters.
04:34How about that?
04:35And at number one with It's Your Letters,
04:37the founding father of It's Your Letters, it's Reeve.
04:42It's Your Letters, It's Your Letters, It's Your Letters, It's Your Letters.
04:54Best audience ever.
04:56But the thing is, it's 2026, so we actually need an It's Your Whatapps,
05:01please, Mr Jack Savaretti, if you don't mind.
05:07It's Your Whatapps, It's Your Whatapps,
05:12It's Your Whatapps, It's Your Whatapps.
05:17OK, now, is this better or worse?
05:23Once again, Mr Jack Savaretti.
05:29It's Your Whatapps, It's Your Whatapps, It's Your Whatapps,
05:34It's Your Whatapps, It's Your Whatapps.
05:39And he has more.
05:41Once again, is this better or worse?
05:43Jack Savaretti.
05:48It's Your Whatapps, It's Your Whatapps, It's Your Whatapps.
05:58How good is Jack Savaretti?
06:01Jack has a number one album today in the UK.
06:07So, all we need now, by the way, is a Whatapp,
06:09and I just happen to have one here for a made-up name,
06:11Kelly from Kentucky.
06:13That'll do.
06:13OK.
06:14Kelly Kentucky says, she doesn't say, but we say,
06:17What's happened?
06:18See, What's happened?
06:18What's happened?
06:19I know.
06:20To Will since TFI last time.
06:23And is it true he hasn't aged today?
06:25Well, let's find out.
06:26Please welcome back, Will!
06:31Will!
06:36Oh, Will is back!
06:38Come in, James.
06:40Come and enjoy.
06:41A bit of Will, everybody.
06:47Steve Denya has been dying to do that.
06:48Don't do that.
06:49Will!
06:50Don't do that.
06:51All right, we've been here before, haven't we, Will?
06:53I mean, we've been here anyway.
06:5596, 97, 98, 99.
06:57But also, they're saying TFI is back, you know,
07:00first time since the 90s, but we've done it before.
07:03Yep, 2015.
07:042015.
07:05Was it 10 we did?
07:06We did a special.
07:08Right.
07:08Which was quite special.
07:09It was very special.
07:10It was quite special.
07:10It was a very special show.
07:11And then we did 10 more.
07:13All right, so we did 11.
07:14So we did 11.
07:15All right, so we brought it back,
07:16because Channel 4 said,
07:17why don't you do, like, a 20th anniversary show?
07:19They said 20th anniversary.
07:21Yes.
07:21We went, great, that's brilliant.
07:23I sat down and went,
07:25oh, it's 19, actually.
07:26Yeah, and they said,
07:27it doesn't matter, just call it the 20th.
07:28Yeah, yeah.
07:29So we did it.
07:29It's a very TFI thing to do.
07:30Yeah, it did really well, didn't it?
07:32And then they said,
07:32why don't you do some more?
07:33So we did some more.
07:34Yeah.
07:34So that was fun.
07:35Yeah, yeah.
07:35And then you went nuts.
07:36Then I went nuts.
07:37Not for the first time.
07:39Not for the first time.
07:42So when we were doing it back in the day,
07:45you were exec producer,
07:47and we did loads and loads of shows,
07:48and then I didn't do the last six,
07:50you didn't do the last six.
07:51Who did do the last six?
07:53Presented by the likes of a couple of Spice Girls.
07:56Elton did the last one.
07:57Elton John.
07:57Elton John did the last TFI Friday.
07:58He put it to rest, yes.
07:59Yeah.
08:00Well, it didn't go well for him,
08:01so he had to go back to singing.
08:03It was his Top Gear.
08:06At least that's how I'm going to frame it.
08:09So, yeah, and then it went away.
08:11Okay, and then what did you do?
08:12I produced this wonderful novel here,
08:17novella here.
08:18Okay.
08:19Called How to Be a Pub Genius.
08:20Thank you very much for your admiration.
08:22Available in any good eBay's discount bin now.
08:25The thing is,
08:26because Pub Genius was a slot we did on the show,
08:28people loved it.
08:29Yeah, yeah.
08:29And to the extent that you brought out this book,
08:31Will MacDonald Pub Genius,
08:32did really well.
08:33You took it on tour.
08:33You had a whole live show.
08:34You had Dancing Girls, everything.
08:36Pyrotechnics going on.
08:37Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:37I knew about that.
08:39It's funny.
08:39I mean, you call it a book.
08:41My other half calls it a pamphlet
08:42because the ink comes off on your fingers.
08:43Yeah.
08:44And what does your other half do for a living?
08:47She works in opera.
08:48Yeah, she's a...
08:51No, it's not...
08:52You little pamphlet, Pub Genius.
08:53No, but I knew about that.
08:54So what's the confession?
08:56The confession is,
08:57you probably don't know this,
08:58brought out a second volume.
09:01You did not.
09:02I didn't know that.
09:04This now sounds like a plug
09:05for a book that came out 25 years ago.
09:09Will MacDonald's here to talk about his new book.
09:11Seeing as you have two of these books out now,
09:13I think it's time for
09:15an updated reimagination of
09:16Will MacDonald, Pub Genius!
09:22I'm going to drink the beer in that glass
09:25out of that cherry glass.
09:28Cherry, ask your dad.
09:29Anyone who's known what a cherry glass is.
09:32Out of there without touching it with my hands.
09:33Right, at this point, we all go...
09:35No way!
09:36No, can't be done.
09:36No way!
09:38Can't be done!
09:39Can't be done!
09:41Impossible!
09:42Impossible!
09:43Impossible!
09:43The man's a fraud!
09:44Never going to have it!
09:46Never going to have it!
09:47Never going to have it!
09:49Watch the microphone!
09:52That's the strangest heckle ever.
09:53Be careful with the microphone!
09:56What about my nice jumper?
09:58Can be done.
09:59Drum roll, please.
10:00Drum roll.
10:00Drum roll, please.
10:30Drum roll.
10:30Drum roll.
10:33Drum roll.
10:33Drum roll.
10:33Drum roll.
10:34Drum roll.
10:36Drum roll.
10:38Drum roll.
10:39Drum roll.
10:39Drum roll.
10:39Drum roll.
10:40Drum roll.
10:44Well, Pub Genius, Volume 3, coming soon.
10:49Let's hear from Will everyone.
10:51He remains the UK's official Pub Genius.
10:55Our next guest has the voice of an angel,
10:57the hair of a god, and the brightest smile in showbiz.
11:00He is a mentor in the new series, Your Song,
11:03which continues on Sundays on Channel 4.
11:05So let's make our whole day a lot brighter with Sam Ryder!
11:09CHEERING.
11:18CHEERING.
11:23Oh my God.
11:25Sam, Sam, Sam!
11:26Mate, I'm buzzing for this.
11:28This is so good.
11:28We're buzzing on Channel 4, both of us on Channel 4.
11:30how are you i'm great how's your new show i was like getting goosebumps hearing your intro to
11:35show again yeah i was just like this is where you see we're back you're back and you you have
11:40your own thing going on with yes tell us all about it samurai it's berserk um it's so we we
11:45go up and
11:45down the country we bring a stage with us this amazing crew that work tirelessly building this
11:50thing and setting it up and organizing people just to get on that stage who've probably never sung in
11:55public before by the way with a live band and the band are absolutely cooking they're so good
12:01um and these guys just come they share a story could be something um seismic that's happened in
12:07their life the deepest like depths of their soul that they're sharing with total strangers that
12:12are just out shopping walking down the high street and they'll sing a song that's attributed to that
12:17feeling and that story and the connection that you see being made honestly chris it is just beautiful
12:24man it's so so lovely and you're perfect for this because because you you know you wear your heart
12:29on your sleeve and some don't well i i try my best to like i think it's a nice way
12:33to live because you
12:34get to meet people where they're at and you you find out more about them like any interaction with a
12:40stranger if you're emotionally open and your your heart is open i feel it's more valuable so is it an
12:46anti-talent show how would you say i've never thought of it that way but it's it's interesting
12:50because there's no carrot man there's no like um sort of you know you win a record deal at the
12:55end
12:55or we'll put your single out like at the end it's it's nothing like that because these people they're
13:00not professional singers they're likely hadn't ever stood on a stage with a live band like an actual
13:07drummer playing before something like that and they're singing a song that's totally just theirs the
13:12words mean something different to them than they do to like anyone else in the world all right all the
13:17way to best here's the thing though when if somebody comes on and smashes it what are you
13:20going to do you're not going to ignore them are you no you don't ignore them but you you like
13:24you
13:25have an event at the end of it at the um the hackney empire yeah and then all the singers
13:30that every
13:30single person's invited everyone comes down and absolutely rinses the free bar but a couple of the
13:36people from each round like we have them perform on the night so that that is the prize there's no
13:43there's no there's no record deal there's no like old tropes it's made by the bake-off people
13:47yes so it's got heart yeah well also the point is i know that a lot of people who won
13:51the bake-off
13:52have gone on to do an amazing things most of them have in fact and that is hot by the
13:56way sorry about
13:56that i tried i tried to style that out only our shows that are smoking so is the tea things
14:03have
14:03changed at channel 4 they bought a kettle it's unbelievable not only you but paloma faith as well
14:08and alison hammond yeah man they're fantastic i mean they're mad as a box of frogs like both
14:13but they're so good to be around individually they're bonkers yeah no but together all of us
14:18sprinkle a bit of rider on top yeah yeah who knows what might happen all of our laughs also are
14:23so
14:23cackly it's unreal so i'm like and like paloma as well and alison so the three of us last laughing
14:29together it's like the witches of eastwick around the cauldron alison hammond's laugh is second
14:33only to her smell she's the greatest smelling person in show business oh mate she's great
14:38unbelievable um and so do you get together did you like do you perform at any point that you and
14:44paloma every now and then we'll jump up like there's a little um they call it a golden hour
14:49so anyone passing by that sort of wants to get involved can just jump up and sing and it's so
14:55lovely man because you'll just see someone passing by with literally holding a bag of shopping be like
15:00i'll have a go and everyone's getting involved i love it it's such a simple concept isn't it yeah
15:06this it's like it's music to your ears and it's the wind beneath your wings yeah mate absolutely
15:11and i just want to sing wind beneath my wings now well i always told you're on vocal yeah i
15:16know
15:16can you hear my voice are you working on anything new at the moment um always but no mate honestly
15:25you don't you don't you don't want to hear it it is bad so uh seeing as we're now back
15:30and
15:35last orders of the bar not just someone i drink it at the moment how long do you know how
15:39to drink
15:39for um over two years yeah yeah you nearly three mate come on which is ironic because the last time
15:46we did have a drink was together in a sauna yeah absolutely never yeah yeah highly un-recommended
15:54it's like the worst possible thing you can do in a sauna we went to be hydrated in a sauna
15:57with a
15:57bottle of tequila yeah it was it was good yeah and that that's probably what it did for both of
16:01us
16:01yeah wasn't it it was that was our bottom yeah that that was absolutely the lancaster all the engines
16:07out just really wasn't it yeah sam great to see you ma'am mate all right this has been sunrider
16:12everyone
16:13all right okay okay all right we'll be back after the break with more tfi applause
16:20you're stupid girl

16:27oh yeah how you wasted
16:31oh yeah how you wasted
16:35you're stupid girl
16:47you're stupid girl
16:50oh yeah how you wasted
16:54i can't believe you're making
16:58wow
17:02that was the brilliant garbage and stupid girl how good is that all right

18:10all right now it's time for something very special on tfi unplugged every single week
18:15we're going to bring some tfi gold and we're better to start than with david bowie
18:32and i think if you put clive on his back he'd be taller than me sorry if you put clive
18:49on his back he'd be taller than me
18:50all right now unless you've got these high heels very high heel shoes but they don't get oh okay
18:56well look there you go i'll give you i should measure out five foot ten and a half i can't
19:01do
19:01five foot ten and a half yes are you five foot ten and a half yes you're not five foot
19:05ten and a half
19:05five foot ten and a half okay all right hang on let's see what are you six that's pretty accurate
19:13david i'm still big bowie i'm still uh b o
19:18go on
19:20carry on
19:20w i okay officially david bowie is taller than beno
19:30oh yeah
19:33so david i had a hell of a time getting there i know go on i know you want to
19:37talk about this
19:37oh let me tell no you don't know i tried to cross that man smith bridge and i didn't know
19:42that the
19:42rich people have got it all blocked up right so i got fined dragged into court all that all in
19:49the
19:49last half hour no way yes it's absolutely true and i've had gastroenteritis all in the last half hour
19:57hey can't you tell the gastroenteritis is still doing the rounds do you know how i got that go on
20:01i was in indonesia i was lost in the jungle this is absolutely true what i believe you yeah
20:08and an old man with one leg and a donkey found me and took me to a glade and pointed
20:15to a temple
20:15and a palace and i said i'm not muslim wife is i'm not so we're going to the palace you're
20:23going to
20:23let me go on with this aren't you i'm dead right mate you started it we got to the palace
20:27and it's
20:28the son of i think he was a gun runner and he had guys in turrets all around the palace
20:33with guns to
20:34keep the poor people out he was so pleased to see me that he put a sheet up in the
20:38garden at the bottom
20:39of the garden pouring with rain yeah servants holding a sheet up at the far end of the garden
20:45had a projector on the porch where we were and we sat and watched sahara with brook shields
20:55then then he threw a party and he had seven daughters and seven sons yeah i always laugh when i
21:04say that and the seven daughters they entertained me royally with dance and no flute playing
21:12flute playing and dance and he fed me things like monkey breast and parrot beak i think it was
21:20what was the course that night and the next day i'd redecorated the bathroom but he sent his
21:27daughter over to me yeah his favorite daughter he sent to me if you know what i mean yes i
21:34couldn't
21:35make it to the front door go away you're beautiful but go away this was many years ago that has
21:42nothing
21:43this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that i got gastroenteritis the other day that was
21:49just it just reminded me though that i've had it twice
22:02this is the second worst chair i've sat on today show them show them the chair look at this chair
22:09that chair the first one is owned by richard branson on virgin airlines
22:13and he has no they're fabulous virgin airlines are great except this one it's the seven four seven
22:20200 series and uh he bought it from cathay i think cathay pacific and uh they've left the old chairs
22:26on
22:26the chinese chairs but they just put virgin material on it and you can't you know it won't go anywhere
22:32it's all and so i slept like that i've only just i've been up for 29 hours we can tell
22:39can't we
22:42this is me straight buddy you're lucky you didn't know me 25 years ago
22:49how are you doing i'm great great good you used to stay up for seven to eight days at a
22:54time i did
22:54indeed yes now what's that like i had a lot of friends and you've got to give friends time
23:00him was that the drugs then yeah but that attracted the friends you mean the reason i had friends
23:08probably yeah they all disappeared when i stopped doing drugs so i think you're probably right on
23:12the money there so did you find that you wrote better songs no or worse songs when you did the
23:17old you know well uh as i wrote things like low heroes lodger scary monsters all straight
23:24by the way without drugs um pretty much without drugs uh i i don't think i think it's uh it's
23:35just
23:35an attitude more you know whether you're enjoying it and you don't have a drink now either do you
23:39i don't drink and i don't drug no but you do you smoke facts and you drink coffee god yeah
23:44i'm dying for
23:45a cigarette well you can't have one on the telly we're not alone in the old days you could but
23:49you
23:49can't anymore seriously you can have one in drama but this ain't a drama mind you you're turning
23:53very good sense i started to tell that a drama if you if you if if the harm that cigarettes
23:59did
23:59yeah could be seen on the outside could be bottled and sold well it is i suppose you could provide
24:04half the mercenaries in america with a new weapon couldn't you but if it was if it was forget anthrax
24:09buddy nicotine they did a program on american television the other night i cannot believe it
24:16as though we haven't got enough problems dateline did this thing let's recreate what would happen
24:21if terrorists threw anthrax down on the american subway and they spent all this money showing us
24:28how 500 000 people would be dead in one day in new york how bodies would be piled up because
24:34all
24:34the grave diggers would have buggered off to queens or wherever they come from queen brooklyn
24:39i don't know where where the grave diggers come from i don't know yeah see the questions this
24:44kind of debate rises um and it went on for about an hour and i was so depressed at the
24:50end of it
24:50realizing that i i really mustn't stay in cities where that even the tiniest possibility of anthrax
24:57being loosed upon me and my family um but then i forgot all about it in a half an hour
25:02because friends
25:03came on and that's the world that's the world we live in sure enough who's who are the best
25:09kisses stop smiling your camera's shaking who are the best kisses men or women uh why ask me
25:20do they kiss do they kiss differently
25:24you know there are a lot of doctors who can actually help you with this
25:32david actual baby that seemed to work didn't it let's do it again here's the cure back after the break
26:04i don't care
26:07i don't care
26:34i know
26:51it's not all thanks to me you wrote the darn songs and you've been in it forever yeah forever
26:56it feels like forever we will always be there the brand new album from jack severetti is currently number
27:01one yeah absolutely smashing the opposition it's all like okay so cruel world holly humberston amazing
27:11record yeah nice one holly um but so close but no cigar uh they're at number two ella langley dandelion
27:18another amazing they're all amazing they're all amazing and and then there's this uh this newbie
27:22olivia dean olivia dean um yeah i told you that when they they put a picture of me and her
27:27on socials
27:28on the official chart and my daughter thought it was like me pranking her yeah she didn't believe
27:31that i was actually well you thought somebody pranking i thought i was being i wasn't gonna
27:36say that i thought i was being pranked yeah and ray is number five as well i'm such a fan
27:42of all these
27:42artists once again let me say jack severetti at number one i didn't prepare a speech right
27:52but when did you when did you when were you told when did the whispers start getting loud enough
27:56for you to hear that this might be something special it was online i mean i asked everybody
28:00before the campaign even started i was like look i'm this is i don't want to know anything because
28:05it could it's not something i set out to do it's not something that's in my sort of my reason
28:10for
28:10going for it but the minute you know you really want it the minute they give you that thing of
28:14like
28:15look we might be up in for a chance of a number one album you suddenly start think it's just
28:19such a
28:19nice way to thank everybody that's helped you made the record of course like you can make it mean
28:23nothing it can mean absolutely nothing to you or you can make it mean everything yeah the people
28:26that are involved with this yeah and that's so important isn't it yeah we've had loads of messages
28:30because people knew you were coming on you've got loads of fans loads of people looking forward to
28:34the royal albert hall next week yeah that's another thing keeping me up at night we're playing the
28:38royal albert hall which you've done this before not for my own not on my own back i've opened up
28:42for
28:42people no you've done gigs before oh i've done it's just a different room it's a different you know when
28:49decorators come in and you have to move the sofa out from the kitchen from the living room to the
28:53kitchen it's the same thing i'm telling myself i keep telling the band that like i'm preaching
28:57exactly what you're saying i'm like a football manager i'm like we stick to our game plan you
29:01don't believe but i'm dying inside the band they go jack we're fine with this yeah well no every look
29:06it's it is like a football player playing wembley everybody wants to bring their a game and it does
29:10make a difference like there's something about that room when you walk into it's not the size of it
29:14it's the it's the regalness of it the majesty yeah yeah and it's intimate and that's kind of
29:19really wonderful but disconcerting it is it is it's like a velvet cushion isn't it there's lots of
29:26velvet around there's lots of crushed red velvet around lush the acoustics are fantastic aren't they
29:30the acoustics are fantastic they're really good for voice and if you keep it quite intimate if you go
29:34too big it can sort of bounce all over the place all right so if you got a ticket for
29:39next week he's
29:40not going big you might as well stay home oh no we're gonna go big but on a different level
29:45so will it change will will the the rhythm of the show change because of where it is no that's
29:51another thing we're really trying to stick to our guns and with the band playing with me is my band
29:55for pretty much 15 to 20 years some guys have been with me for ages and we are they're the
29:59guys playing
30:00on the record so this is kind of like the first time we're playing the record from top to bottom
30:03and
30:04we're doing something really grown up we're gonna do i got i stole this idea from arcade fire we're
30:08gonna do the new album top to bottom then have an interval oh right is that because you because
30:17we're so grown up now we need a brand we're so old you need a wee that's the thing the
30:22first time this
30:23ever happened to me right i went to i think it was the eagles um i think i want to
30:28say i think it was
30:28the eagles one of my dream shows yeah i wanted dream shows and there was an interval and i was
30:33like
30:33an interval this is interesting and i'm thinking okay that's it's beer time but of course you then
30:38you then go from the stadium from your seat and you go down to where the beers are you think
30:43it's
30:43going to be a big queue i better get there as quick as i can no the queue for the
30:47lose was so
30:48much longer than the keys for the beers because of the demographic demographic of the audience yeah
30:53yeah i mean i i kind of put myself in that like it'll be a nice of a little half
30:56an hour rest
30:57i think the band needed the band needed a comfort break as much as the audience we did it we
31:02did a
31:03sort of we did a show like a warm-up show in liverpool about a month ago just to sort
31:06of see
31:06if we could actually play this stuff live and we had an interval and we were like why have we
31:10never
31:10done this before yeah it was so nice we got this it's like a half time in a football game
31:14you get
31:14to recap i love what you did on that thing yeah smelling salts a bit of a rub down two
31:19beers two shots
31:21especially if it's going really well that's the problem you've got to not celebrate though it's only
31:25half time that we learned that on our on our warm-up sort of run don't really win it in
31:30the second
31:31half but you can lose it in the second half absolutely oh my gosh i don't want to sew that
31:35don't blame this on me no no no we won't we'll keep it together but it's really cool and then
31:39the
31:40second the second half of the show we're going to do our sort of old friends or almost hits it's
31:44going
31:44to be like an hour you're almost you should have an almost greatest it's almost good but you don't
31:50need to because i don't know if you know but jackson is currently number one in the uk oh jack
31:57jack
31:57jack um where did where was this new album where was it um where was it how was it born
32:02where did
32:02it come from it was born out of it's actually one of the few albums i've first albums i've done
32:06in
32:06a long time without any preconceived concept which sounds a bit clumsy but in the past i've sometimes
32:11protected the substance of what i'm saying in songs with style it's a bit like if you're if you feel
32:16like you're having an imposter syndrome or you kind of don't feel like you maybe be up to scratch
32:21with what you're supposed to be doing you dress it up a bit and i've done that in the past
32:23i've
32:24always also to protect the substance um with this one i was like no style we're going full substance
32:29this is jeans and t-shirt album it'll do what it does and you no longer need to fear olivia
32:33dean
32:33can we hear it for the current number one selling artist in the uk album chart it's jack
32:41savored is will mcdonald's still here
32:56he loves that he doesn't hate it all right coming up now jack severed please welcome jack
33:01savored with the ocean color scenes the day we call it a trade
33:07never saw it as the star it's more a change of heart
33:14wrapping all the windows
33:16blowing off the dust in the room where i forgot
33:24i laid my plans and started
33:28the
33:28step them through the door like a troubadour while in just an hour away
33:34looking at the trees on the roadside feeling it's a holiday
33:39you and i should ride the coast and wind up in our favorite coats just bounce away
33:48roll a number
33:50write another song like jimmy heard the day he caught the trail
33:56oh
34:19oh
34:22hold on
34:23holding on the floor with the cigarette burns walked in
34:26i miss the crush and i'm home again
34:30stepping through the door with the night in store while i'm just an hour away
34:36sleeping to the sky in the star bright feeling it's a brighter day
34:42oh
34:58oh
35:00oh
35:01I like, oh, I like, oh, I like, oh, I like, oh, oh, oh, oh.
35:11You and I should ride the tracks and find ourselves just wading through to my roads.
35:19You and I, when I'm coming down, we're only getting back.
35:22And you know I feel that sorrow.
35:26We've got the whole wide world, yes.
35:29When you find the things are getting wild
35:32Don't you want days like these
35:34When you find the things are getting wild
35:37Don't you want days like these
35:40When you find the things are getting wild
35:43Don't you want days like these
35:45Like these
35:46Whoa, la, la
35:49Whoa, whoa, la
35:52Thank you so much
35:55All right, coming up next, India's biggest star
35:58Shreya Shal's going to be here
35:59Performing Coldplay's big shoot
36:02It's going to be amazing
36:03But before that, first, more TFI
36:06We'll step in one day
36:11This keeps holding on to us
36:14We'll stand where the river bends
36:18I hope we fall in
36:22This time we'll be in
36:25Let's take a boat to block
36:28We'll burn all the negatives
36:31I hope we fall in
36:37We'll step in one day
36:40This keeps holding on to us
36:44We'll stand where the river bends
36:48I hope we fall in
36:52This time we'll be in
36:55Let's take a boat to block
36:56How great is that?
36:57Sleeper sail of the century from back in the day
37:00TFI Gold
37:01Our next guest, a superstar singing sensation
37:04It doesn't get any bigger than our next guest
37:06With over 3,500 songs under her belt
37:08And hundreds of millions of fans across the planet
37:11Her new album, All Hearts Live Tour, is out now
37:14So let's say hello to our new pal
37:16It is Shreya Gishal
37:33So welcome
37:34You're so welcome
37:35Thank you
37:36Shreya Gishal, you are gracing us with your presence
37:38Your band here
37:39Tell us about your latest tour to the UK
37:41What's been going on?
37:42Yeah, so we were here for the Unstoppable Tour
37:46And we just finished our London O2 Arena
37:50Which was our first for me as well
37:52Like the O2 Arena
37:53And it was a wonderful tour
37:55We started from Manchester, Birmingham and then London
37:58Okay, was this like a taster tour?
38:01Are you going to come back and do more dates?
38:03You've got to
38:04Yes
38:04The response we're getting just from you
38:06From when we said you were going to be on the show
38:08Oh my gosh
38:09And you've recorded over three and a half thousand songs
38:12Yes
38:12I mean that's incredible, isn't it?
38:14It's like, it's something sort of, you know
38:17Our sort of world of rock and roll
38:19You know, if the Beatles recorded 400 or 500
38:22You're three and a half thousand
38:23Oh no!
38:24You're three thousand ahead of the Beatles
38:26How does that feel?
38:27Oh God, no, nothing like that
38:28But I think it's just the amount of work that happens back in India
38:32Because it's not just Hindi
38:34Which is the main language spoken
38:36There are so many different regional languages as well
38:40You've enjoyed over 12 billion downloads and streams
38:43And you have like tens of millions of followers on all the social medias
38:4734.1 million followers on Instagram
38:49What does that feel like?
38:51To have that sort of, that quantity of
38:53A, output
38:54B, love
38:56You know, clearly people absolutely adore what you do
38:59Do you have to sort of
39:01Can you
39:02How does one deal with that?
39:04Or do you just
39:04Is it
39:06Do you just have to park it, I suppose?
39:08I don't think so much about this
39:10I mean if you start thinking about
39:12How to manage listeners
39:16Algorithms
39:16Social media
39:17Then I think the music takes a backseat
39:19So I just focus on the music
39:21And everything follows
39:22That's easy
39:23But you have just said
39:25You have also said
39:26You know, you look after your fans
39:27There's literally more and more coming on board all the time
39:31Yeah
39:31And so you have to sort of
39:34You are aware of it
39:34Of course you're aware of it
39:35Yeah
39:35And you do engage with your fans
39:37I do
39:37But you have 4 billion more listens
39:41Than there are people on the planet
39:44On the planet
39:45So where are they listening to me from?
39:47Mars
39:48Right, you prepared something very special for us tonight
39:51Can you tell us the story behind it, please?
39:54Oh
39:56So when Coldplay
39:58Performed in Wembley in 2017
40:02We were there
40:03I think
40:03Me and my husband
40:07We have the most fondest memory of being in that concert
40:11And we can't forget those memories
40:14And then when finally Coldplay came to Mumbai
40:17And they played
40:18I was there again
40:19And I think literally tears streaming down your face
40:24It was true
40:26And it's special
40:29I think that song has a lot of depth and a lot of meaning
40:31To not just me
40:32To many people
40:33It fixes their problems
40:35And their
40:37You know
40:38How to deal with loss
40:40Or how to deal with issues of life
40:42So Fix You is a special song
40:44And Coldplay
40:45They're just too amazing
40:46All right
40:47Now you've never met Chris Martin
40:48But you'd like to
40:49Yeah, please make it happen
40:50Is this your
40:51Well, you've got to make it
40:53Is this your love letter to Chris saying
40:54Please, can we hook up?
40:55Yeah
40:56All right
40:56So
40:57No, no
40:58No, no
40:59Just correct
41:01So
41:03We need to get you to be best mates with Adele
41:05Yeah
41:06And collaborate with Chris Martin
41:08Yes
41:08All right
41:09Okay
41:09Well, let's see how this goes
41:10I'm sure it's going to be fine
41:12All right
41:12You go and get yourself ready
41:13To perform
41:14All right
41:15We've just about got time for this week's
41:17Star of the Week
41:18Please welcome
41:19Supermax
41:21Hi, Maxie
41:23All right
41:23Tell everyone about yourself
41:25So my name is Max
41:26I have a lifelong condition
41:28Called osteogenesis imperfecta
41:29Otherwise known as brittle bone disease
41:31Meaning that my bones are a lot more fragile
41:34Than other people's
41:35I get a lot of chronic pain
41:37And fatigue daily
41:38And it means I have to use
41:39Distraction techniques
41:40To kind of
41:41Try and put the pain
41:42Out of the picture
41:43So that I can
41:44Focus on everyday life
41:45Such as
41:47I use fidget toys
41:49I do things like
41:50Listening to audio books
41:51Playing a bit of Lego
41:52And coming on
41:54TV shows
41:54Coming on television
41:55All right
41:58Now you are supported by a charity
42:00And now you also support that charity
42:02Yep
42:02So the
42:03Brittle Bone Society
42:04Is a charity that has supported me
42:06Literally throughout my entire life
42:08From the moment I was diagnosed
42:09So they have helped with grants
42:12And funds
42:13And they've been there for me
42:14Whenever I needed them
42:15So I wanted to say
42:16A big thank you to them
42:18And I wanted to raise a bit of money for them
42:20So that they could
42:22Be able to help even more people
42:24So I did a sponsored bike ride
42:26Which was the length of 26.2 miles
42:29Equivalent to a marathon
42:31Wow
42:32Wow
42:33So I rode that around my local area
42:36And after that
42:37I managed to raise
42:38£142,000
42:42She's just one of the many reasons
42:44She's our first ever
42:45TFI Unplugged Star of the Week
42:47And you know your prizes
42:48Don't you
42:48Okay okay
42:49The prize for the Star of the Week
42:50And by the way
42:50Feel free to nominate
42:51Another Star of the Week
42:52For next week
42:53It is to tell us
42:54What's on next week's show
42:55So drop roll please
43:04On TFI
43:05Next week is
43:07We've got absolutely no idea
43:12We're here straight or anyhow
43:15When you try your best
43:18But you don't succeed
43:22When you get what you want
43:25But not what you need
43:29When you feel so tight
43:32But you can't sleep
43:35Stuck in rivers
43:42And the tears come streamed
43:46Down your face
43:49When you lose something
43:52You can't replace
43:56When you lose something
43:59But it goes to waste
44:01Could it be worse
44:07Could it be worse
44:12Lights will guide you home
44:18And ignite your pulse
44:25And I will try
44:30To fix you
44:32You can't punish you
