La polémique de marcher sur le logo d'un club est stupide

Une polémique a pris de l’ampleur autour de Ben White, accusé d’avoir marché sur l’escudo de l’Atlético de Madrid en rentrant aux vestiaires. La scène aurait provoqué des tensions dans le tunnel, notamment avec les Simeone, le père comme le fils, dans un contexte déjà chargé entre l’Atlético et Arsenal.  Ce débat autour des logos au sol n’est pas nouveau. Depuis plusieurs années, des vidéos montrant certains joueurs contourner volontairement des écussons de clubs ont popularisé cette attention particulière. L’exemple de Cristiano Ronaldo, souvent associé à ce geste, a notamment contribué à installer cette idée qu’éviter de marcher sur un escudo serait une marque de respect.  Mais toute la question est là : faut-il vraiment transformer chaque passage sur un logo en affaire d’État ? Sans geste volontairement provocateur, sans intention manifeste d’appuyer le mouvement ou de chercher la confrontation, il est difficile d’y voir automatiquement un manque de respect. Certains joueurs font l’effort de contourner les écussons, et ce geste peut être apprécié. Mais tout le monde ne partage pas forcément ce même rapport symbolique.  Le fond du sujet est finalement assez simple : si un club ne veut absolument pas que son escudo soit piétiné, il peut aussi éviter de le placer au sol. Chacun peut avoir ses principes personnels, certains refuseront toujours de marcher sur un logo de football, d’autres n’y verront aucun problème.
