00:00I'm guessing it's been a frustration for the organization.
00:02To me, it's kind of been the endearing part of him, right?
00:05The slight, the Don Quixote that's in him, you know, tilting at windmills, so to speak,
00:09of kind of trying to recapture being this guy.
00:12The Don Quixote in him.
00:14You know, trying to recapture the magic that he had at 20 or 21, right?
00:18And him being stubborn about that.
00:21I think to me, that kind of like, it was like, that was who he was, right?
00:25And it made him a distinct character here.
00:27And now it kind of feels like, okay, well, instead of being this guy that, you know,
00:32had the potential to be the best pitcher in the world, now he's just kind of barely trying
00:35to cling on to his spot in the rotation.
00:37He's taking a more practical approach, you know, throwing this like faster splitter that
00:41doesn't break as much because he just needs to throw strikes right now, right?
00:45And so to me, there was a bit of sadness, I guess, in that.
00:47Just kind of watching this guy, you know, I don't want to say settle for mediocrity,
00:52but that kind of feels like what it was, you know?
00:54And that like, because again, you know, anybody that saw Sasaki at 20 or 21,
00:58you were like convinced that this guy's special.
01:00And this wasn't, you know, I know people, you know, sending messages on Twitter,
01:04like, oh, like the Japanese is like double layer, this or that.
01:06But it wasn't just the fact that like, it wasn't just the numbers.
01:09It was like how it looked.
