00:03Today we're going to talk about when God shakes your world so you finally see Jesus.
00:11Sometimes God will shake your world and disrupt your whole entire world
00:15with the purpose of revealing himself more deeper to you.
00:21Revealing his will and his plan for your life more deeper.
00:25So we're coming out of text. This took place right after Jesus had died on the cross
00:29and gave up the ghost. The Bible says,
00:32And behold, the veil of the temple was rent and twain from the top to the bottom.
00:37And the earth did quake and the rocks rent and the graves were open.
00:43And many bodies of the saints which slept arose and came out of the grave after his resurrection
00:50and went into the holy city and appeared unto many.
00:55Now when the centurion and they that were with him watching Jesus saw the earthquake
01:01and those things that were done, they feared greatly saying,
01:06Truly this was the Son of God.
01:10So we're looking at God sending some unmistakable situations into the lives of people
01:17that demand a divine interpretation.
01:22God is attaching meaning to his death.
01:27He's attaching meaning to the death of Christ.
01:30These events that are happening all around the cross are meant to force people to recognize
01:35that this is indeed Jesus.
01:39God has sent some weighty events that could not be ignored.
01:43Let's look at them.
01:44So the Bible says,
01:45And behold, the veil of the temple was rent and twain from the top to the bottom.
01:50God sent the tearing of the veil.
01:53Oh, this was not man's work.
01:56The Bible said that the veil was torn from the top to the bottom,
02:03meaning no one could reach that high to tear the veil from the top to the bottom.
02:10Now, the veil is the barrier in the temple that blocked man's access to God.
02:16But through Jesus, we have access through God.
02:20So when Jesus died on the cross, the veil was torn from the top to the bottom.
02:25God had done it.
02:27Man could not have done it.
02:28Sometimes God opens doors in your life and closes doors in your life
02:34in a way that man could have not accomplished at all.
02:37Oh, goodness, have you ever had something happen in your life
02:41and you knew man could not have done it?
02:43God was trying to get your attention.
02:46God was trying to get people's attention in the text.
02:50Now, the next thing we look at, the Bible says the earthquake,
02:53meaning the earth shook, and man cannot shake the earth.
02:59God shook something that seemed unmovable.
03:03Have God ever shook something that seemed unmovable in your life?
03:06Something that you were depending on.
03:08Took people out of your life that you were depending on.
03:11Took a business out of your life that you were depending on.
03:14A ministry moved things.
03:15He shook your health.
03:17The things that you thought would always be there, God shook it.
03:21God shook the earth beneath them so that they could finally see
03:24that it was Jesus that was standing before them.
03:29God shook the earth to reveal his son.
03:35Maybe the situation that you're going through in your life,
03:37God is trying to tell you something.
03:40God is trying to reveal himself unto you.
03:43So God removed some of the things that you trusted in.
03:45You was trusted in that.
03:47Oh, it was painful when God took it.
03:49You was relying on it.
03:51But God allowed those things to shake.
03:55Maybe God's trying to get your attention.
03:58When stability shakes, when things in your finances start to break in ways,
04:04our relationships start to tumble in ways, or your health goes sour.
04:08Maybe it's God removing false ground out of your life
04:12so that you can look at the rock that does not shake.
04:16Help us, oh God.
04:17You are our stability.
04:19God will cause your stability to move, to get your attention.
04:23So that was God's work, not man's.
04:28So the next thing we see is the dead are coming back to life.
04:33The Bible says the graves were opened and many bodies of the saints which slept arose.
04:39Meaning that God stepped into a dead place.
04:43When God steps into a dead place, things just resurrect because he is the resurrection.
04:48This was God's work, not man's.
04:51God disrupted death.
04:54God stepped into the dead place to show them that what they thought was over was not over.
05:00There's nothing that's final as death.
05:02But when God steps into it, God's not done with it because he'll resurrect it.
05:06What they thought was final was not final.
05:10Sometimes God will bring back some things in your life that you thought you were done with.
05:16You thought it was over and that thing will come back.
05:19It will resurrect in your life.
05:20That's God trying to get your attention.
05:23God may resurrect some relationships, some businesses, some ministries, some marriages, some finances.
05:29He may resurrect your health.
05:31God invades death and brings back life.
05:36Now, God had done all of this with a purpose.
05:40This all was...
05:41Some people might say this was chaotic.
05:43The veil was torn.
05:45The earth had shook.
05:47The dead was brought back to life.
05:49But this was not chaotic.
05:51This was God trying to get the attention of the centurions.
05:57This was God trying to get the attention of the centurions and the people that were with him.
06:03The centurion confessed that truly this was the son of God.
06:09Look at God at work.
06:11God produced recognition of who he was in an unlikely heart.
06:16This was not chaotic.
06:18It was God's divine disruption.
06:22This was not to confuse anyone.
06:25This was not...
06:26All these events were not confusion.
06:27They were to clarify who God was.
06:31All of this death and this veil and this earthquake, it was not to destroy, but it was to reveal
06:39who God was.
06:41Jesus was already the son of God.
06:44And God was shaking everything around so many acknowledged it.
06:49Maybe God is shaking things in your life.
06:51So you will acknowledge his calling your life.
06:54Some events are God refusing to be ignored.
06:58Men have a way of trying to ignore God.
07:00But God said, I'm not going to be ignored.
07:02I'm going to send catastrophic events.
07:04Now, what I don't want to say is, God allows sin.
07:09God does not sin.
07:11He allows sin and he uses that sin.
07:13He redeems what men do for his deeper purposes.
07:17But God is not the one that sins at all.
07:20I want to say that.
07:21He can redeem sinful actions.
07:23But he himself does not sin.
07:27What I'm trying to say is, God will send losses in your life to rearrange your priorities.
07:34He's trying to get your attention.
07:36God will send confrontation in your life to unmask reality.
07:42Because you don't want to face it.
07:44So I'm going to send some confrontation to get your attention.
07:47God will allow things to collapse in your life to lead you to clarity on who he is and what
07:56you ought to be doing.
07:58God will do.
07:59God has a million and one ways to get your attention.
08:04What I'm trying to say is, stop blaming people.
08:07Believer, all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to his
08:12purpose.
08:12Because stop blaming people for what only God could do.
08:15There are some tragedies that have happened in my life that worked out so perfectly.
08:21Then I'm like, wow.
08:23Only God could have done that.
08:24It was God.
08:25God allowed it.
08:27He didn't cause it.
08:28He allowed it to happen.
08:30Oh, if you don't believe that, ask Joseph.
08:32Joseph said, you meant it for evil, but God meant it for good.
08:38Sometimes God will allow tragedies in your life and work them out in a way that you know God.
08:45That was you.
08:47What I'm talking about today, all I'm talking about today is when God shakes your world so you finally see
08:54Jesus.
08:54God will shake up your world so that he can reveal himself and his purposes in your life.
